Review Raju Dhaba - Visakhapatnam

Manik Sehgal
The place is on a road side but serves really good food. The chicken and mutton biryani are really nice and tasty. There are no ACs, so please be prepared for a hot biryani in a hot weather. The place is always full at lunch time, so please plan accordingly. Overall a very good experience. Happy eating!!!!!

Best experience ever. Loved every bite . Purely authentic. All must visit place . Don't recommend for people looking for hygienic and AC resturant. But for food lover want to explore good and authentic andhra style Palao and fry please go and have it . Curry leaves overpowering in all the dishes .
Bhargav Aryasomayajula
The perfect food place for non vegetarians. The sea food is served from fresh catch and it is an aquired taste. The service is very quick. The ambience is set in a way that is not as restaurant but a hut. Parking is a constraint as it is only on the road. Though these might seem like a negative, all these are over compensated by the taste of the food. Not many vegetarian options are available, it could be a bummer for veggie lovers
vamshi bandi
Their prawns biryani is very famous. Good food options to choose from.
krishna chaitanya Parisineti
I visited this place many times, some how i didn't feel the authenticity of mutton pulav as usual, other items which i ordered like prawns fry and crab are extremely good. If you are hardcore non vegetarian then this is a must visit place when you visit Vizag. Especially, prawns fish, crab and mutton. PS : Im not a huge fan of chicken so didn't had it.

Very good place to have tasty Biryani. Quality is good. Service is also good. But it's a crowdy place in peak hours. So sometimes it's better to take away. Mutton Biryani and Prawn Biryani were good. Overall a good experience.

Best dabha for sea food. Seating in huts near to Gitam collage beside Rushikonda beach entrance road. Mostly crowded and need to wait for the table. Prawns and Vanjaram fish curries and Palau’s are famous here. Most recommended items are prawns curry and vanjaram fish curry.
Madhu Narava
Expectations vs reality 😐 Saw vizag foodie video and came here, but not that much good, place is clean and hygiene but seating is not good as they are renovating.. Quantity and quality is upto the mark for the price. 240 for chiken & 320 for mutton.
Sharadshree Roychoudhury
I just loved it 💞. Got to know about this place from a FB food group and I am glad that I tried it. Very clean, variety of food options, tasty items and pocket friendly. We tried crab , chicken and mutton liver curry. All the items were very tasty. Must visit if passing by RK beach.
Dr Harita pottam
This hotel seves the best mutton biryani in whole Vizag!! And their yummy fish and prawns fry are to die for!! Must visit place!!
ch tulasiram
Non veg tastes good don't miss the place the wait line is there for the taste you have to wait. Crab curry tastes good and prawns biryani missed .
VAIBHAV KUMAR
This place is perfect for a quick getaway from the main city and environment here is so calm and nice. I made a quick plan to be here and wanted to taste their prawns curry but it got finished by the time i reached there, so i tried mutton biryani. It was the spiciness of it just perfect. Never tasted this kind of flavour. Loved the place and food.
Fair Traveller
On my way back from Rushikonda beach I was amazed to find this place as I have seen this place only in Youtube Videos. It was around 7pm when I was exhausted and got here. I ordered plain biryani rice, prawns curry and fried prawns, it was served along with curd chutney and chicken gravy or curry which was not Halaal. The mutton though was Halaal as per the hotel staff but the chicken was not. I was in no mood to take any chances so I went for the safest option which was Prawns. It was delicious a bit spicyand extremely fragrant the prawns were actually locally procured hence the size is small but it was awesome. Both the prawns dishes were good. It is recommended that you go here when staying in Vizag and visiting Rushikonda beach.

A must must go when in Vizag a small dhaba , not fancy but the food is out of the world , mess kinda food , mutton fry crab masala chicken biryani first class
Sachin Abraham
I ordered two chicken biryani and prawns fry. It was really tasty. If you are visiting rushikonda beach this place is a must try. It is a small and cheap place but don't judge the food by looking at place. All of my friends really like this place. Non veg has many options but veg has very little.
K Maneesh
Dhaba style biryani with loads of spicyness. Try prawn starters and mutton biryani, and a cool drink. Best combo here. One of the must try places in Vizag.
NERDFOOD9
Biriyani by the sea side. Just craving for this spicy chicken fry biriyani at Sea Inn - Raju Ka Dhaba. And by spicy I literally mean very spicy. Pared it with some liver fry making it a perfect drool worthy combo !
In Frame - Chicken Fry Biriyani. - Liver Fry.

This a very old famous iconic place in visakhapatnam and a must visited place for its unique taste in all items especially in mutton biryani and seafood, for seafood lovers great spot. I wanted to give 4 rating due to cleanliness issues, but i dont want to because it is a pride of Visakhapatnam. Cleanliness issue means don't feel to much very minor issue due to its locality . You will enjoy and love the food while eating and place too.

Superb taste want visit again and again

Serving fridge food and caught to vigilence officers of gvmc then they seized the restaurant for some days this is too wrong because of costmers heavy they are keeping food in fridge before day
Harichakra Panireddy
Its just name everything is normal nothing special about it. prices are also decent not great, quantity also just medium not great but quality is good enough.
Andrew
Simple menu Mastered to perfection. No frills but efficient staff and it's always crowded. All items on offer are excellent. I specially liked the mutton and prawn fry.
Rvsarratdorra
Excellent and Economy Dhaba and those who visit to Vizag Should Taste the Food Once. Quality of Home Food You Find Here and Staff are Very Hospitality
Adithya

Srinivas.pennam
This is a shack/dhaba type food joint...no frills kinda restaurant!! The food served is great and authentic!! Menu is kept short!! But what ever they serve you is great!! Mutton biryani and prawns curry are a must try!!

Iam waiting to visit this place from long time and finally made it.
I suggest to visit before 2.00pm to taste there complete menu, We went there around 2.30pm and half there menu is not available. Vegetarians are not recommended here.
We ordered 3 biryani rice, Chicken, Mutton,Fish & Prawns, It costed us around 1000 bucks, Taste wise it's decent and I will visit them early next time and will update my review.

You can go to this place and order anything blindly , it's a place for spicy food lovers, famous for biryani and low cost tasty food. It's on the beach road and they kept the place original and not decor.

Biryanis are really good. This dhaba is especially famous for its cooking style. You may feel good eating here.its a family restaurant.i tried mutton biryani here.Good taste.worth dining here.
Naresh A
Nice place and good taste it's awesome very nice mostly mutton biryani and rice Sambar I can go to this hotel. 15 to 20 times it's. Very good taste
Shiju John
Place is a shack. Zero ambience. So only attraction can be food. I would say highly overrated. Fish fry (seer fish) costs 200. Decent portion. Relatively fresh and taste is ok. Chicken biriyani is hopeless, very blant and spicy. Cost 180. They make spicy food and sell soft drinks to compensate. Rs.20 for that. Rs.400/- for a bad lunch, i won't recommend this place to anyone.
Abhijeeth Kss
If you are a fan of biryani... Should try the biryani and pulav, ofcourse it's the best biryani place. Place is little low classy but good food good taste

Talk about inflation biting you in the wrong place.
I studied in GITAM about ten years ago and back then as a student this was an affordable joint. Today when I visited this place after ages I realised that quality has taken somewhat of a beating due to the huge demand. Now don’t think I am going after exactly ten years. I am from Vizag so I’ve been going here on and off yet I felt obligated to write an honest review as the standards have dropped. The three stars are for it not changing anything about its ambience and sticking to it true self. Food today was overly spicy and the tongue goes numb and loses its ability to taste anything after the initial spice hits you. What happened Raju Garu??
Where is the satisfaction sense one used to get at your shack once they were done having their plate full of chicken/mutton/prawn pulao??
Bhanu Tej
AWESOME food 🍱🍜... If u are in #vizag (BESIDE RUSHIKONDA BEACH) it's one of the best place to eat food...especially #Mutton biryani 🍚& prawns fry 🍤
Satya
Great food, poor hygiene. Ambience is a miss. Meat is of good quality in mutton dishes. Quality of rice in biryani can be improved. Prawns give me a stale smell.

Sharan Kumar
Wowwwww ! The Best Biriyani Available In Town.
Almost Everyone Knows This Place. Its Kinda On The Outskirts Of The City But I Bet Its Worth Travelling 15 Km To Treat Yourself With Some Delicious Food.
Rajesh
A simple setup, concrete slabs for benches and tables, Sea Inn to a first timer will appear to be a shack approached by going down a few steps from the Beach Road. However once the order is placed, the fun begins. One must go early else one may miss the signature prawn Biryani. The crab curry, chicken Biryani are also a must have. Food is prepared fresh so you have to wait. Simplicity and honesty is associated with Sea Inn. Though it has been featured in number of food shows by Rocky and Mayur, NDTV Good Times and Vinod Dua, the attitude of the operators remain unchanged. A must visit if you are in Vizag. However the food is a bit spicy so if you are going with kids, do put in a word.
Anil Kumar
Not upto the expectations and hipe. Even though It is running in a small hut the prices are too costly and quantity is very less for the price they are charging. All the dishes are very spicy that ok for me but may not ok for all. Very high prices for the quantity they are serving
Kishan Mallik
This will always be my first destination once I reach the airport. I usually order a pulao and then chicken fry, mutton fry, fish fry, prawns fry and the amazing crabs fry. However ending it with sambar and curd rice is mandatory no matter how full you're :)
Radhika Dandasi
It is a must visit place for Non Veg Lovers - Pulovs and not for Biryani... For those who would like to know and see difference between Biryani and Pulov, this is one of the best place I can think off... Do visit if you are around Rushi Konda and a traveler to be more precise...

Don't expect a high fundo service and ambience like in restaurants... This place is for food Lovers who are good with a neat ambience and decent service...
Arjun
The place has only curries, pulaos, and frys.

You have to try the mutton fry, and fish fry. The accompanying chicken pickle and dahi-kanda really made the mutton Biryani worth overeating. The Nalli of the mutton in the Biryani was one of the best I've ever had.

Don't expect much from the decor, etc. It's a small place, truly a dhaba, but the food completely justifies the rating. We were served fairly quickly and on requesting a couple of extra pieces of Nalli, we were accommodated. Much appreciated!

We tried the prawn fry and chicken Biryani too, but they didn't stand out as much as the rest.

Konark Shinde , a dinner to remember for sure!

Undoubtedly Vizags The Best biryanis provide here. Der prawn biriyani and chicken biryani wil not replace anyone’s and reasonable prices for their taste and the only problem is No CARD SWIPING OR ONLINE TRANSACTIONS dey only accept money.
Anouki
It’s a very famous place in vizag.. authentic pulao is served here.. full of spices and non veg lovers will enjoy the food here.. curries were also quite famous..
Santosh Vasupalli
Very bad service don't book orders from this restaurant...... The owner in this restaurant is very harmful man... And he don't pick up the calls of customers.... So my sincere request is to don't orders from this restaurant
Narayana
For non veg lovers in Vizag must visit place
Food is taste and pocket friendly
Ambience is like dhaba but food tastes like anything
ESP prawns and mutton
Hanisha Hani
The Andhra chicken briyani from this place is awesome. It is so tasty and delicious. I think no one should miss this. They had more varieties of sea food too, it's yum😋 Home feel restaurant. People who visit VIZAG should definitely vist this place...The best food day ever..😍
Ashwini Raju
Our entire trip to Vizag was planned around eating at Raju's!
The place is divided into two rooms with neatly stacked tables and chairs. Nothing fancy about the ambience. Just a simple roadside shack that promised good food!
Between the six of us we tried almost all the dishes they had to offer.
The menu is a small blackboard consisting the daily specials.
The prawn curry was out of the world! The prawns simply melted in your mouth with the perfect precision of spicy sweetness hitting you.
The other dishes like crab fry, liver fry and biriyani were equally brilliant.
The food might be a little spicy but that reflects proper Andhra Cuisine.
Go here for rustic, authentic, delicious, local food
Must try: Prawn dishes!
Please upload ur restaurant menu... So that we can go through zomato to order online...hope so ull have a quick response. I even hope that this will help u too get even more better

Fantastico! This is a must do in vizag. Simple place that isnt airconditioned or fancy but decent crowd - delicious tiny prawns, crab fry, prawns curry and spicy as hell. Friendly service.Scenic drive as well.

Unique hut like ambience with no AC. Food is very Hot ...but really tasty in the local style. Great place for Andhra sea food . Luved Crab fry, Prawn fry, Prawn biryani. Next time will taste Meat and chicken dishes. They also serve the rice with sambar and rasam. Must visit if you are in Vizag
Subrata Kar
Must go if you are in Vishakhapatnam. Service, ambience is mind blowing..They maintain a eco-friendly environment. Food is the best part here..beyond words..overall a must visit place..

Echoing words from my friends, as this one is exclusive for non vegetarians.

We came at 3 o clock still the place is crowded and we can't expect a comfortable cozy seating, but still taste of food will give you answer.

My friends ordered mutton biryani and prawns curry. Whereas I ordered veg pulao. Even though food is spicy you won't feel the heat on the tounge, rather you'll feel the kammadanam in the food. That's the unique things in this world place.

One of the must visit places in Vizag and AP. Overall we loved this place a lot and feeling sad that why we missed this place in our earlier visits 😀
Pradeep Chaudhary
The much hyped restaurant that featured on several TV shows and on ‘Highway on my plate’ - boasts of good fresh home made Coastal food.

True that, it’s right next to the coast and they do have a limited menu with crabs prawns and fishes.

But the food is extremely spicy and in that spice you lose the taste of the main food, the spices overpowered the flavour of crab meat and the prawns.

It will leave you sweating- it’s a masala explosion and a lot of chilies and the masala was same for crab and the fish.

Not recommended for a special visit.
Adventurous Gastronome
When my colleagues got to know that I am traveling to Vizag, one place they said had to be on my 'must visit' list and that was 'Raju ka Dhaba', so with this visit, I decided to tick that off from my list but little did I know that one visit won't be enough. Visited this place thrice in a row. Almost looks like a hut, with stone tables and benches. The menu is very limited but whatever is available is fantastic and fresh and you can forget and forgive the lack of ambience!! We ordered prawn fry, meat fry, fish fry, crab fry (we devoured it before taking pics) and mutton Biryani. All extremely in good quantity n very reasonable!! Just loved it!!
Raj Kiran
Mutton biryani is very good and spicy, prawns curry is below average, white rice with sambar is good, and absence of card payment is disappointing...
Bon Vivant :p
To say the truth , I didn't have any plan to visit the place after going through the details of the place but I been to this place after the recommendation of TRAVEL XP . Honestly speaking, I would have missed the taste of authentic Andhra Biryani if I had not visited this place. Along with BIryani, we ordered Chicken and Sea fish also. I can feel the taste of the fish till today, it was so overwhelming like a treat to your taste buds. A strong recommendation for this place, from my side.
Anand Neeli
This is the most highly exaggerated worst place I have ever eaten. You will get ulcers or some kind of stomach acidic problems. Posing like Andhra authentic...no guys. Don’t go to this place until and unless you have no choice. I think their people are writing their own reviews. Simply...highly over priced, over masala dose, no amenities...very very very worst food.
Snehasish Das
Very small cozy place with only a handful of items on the menu. But that doesn't keep this place from serving some delicious Andhra Biryani. If you are very hygiene conscious then this may not be the place for you. But if you are a true food lover then a must visit in Vizag. Loved their Prawn Biryani. Just as brilliant as it tastes, it comes with prawns in every bite. Now I know how it feels when the spice is too much for you but you can't stop eating. Haha.
Sasa
The best pulav I've ever had.
Too spicy, but in a good way. I wish the place is a bit cleaner.
5 stars for the taste/ don't worry about the ambiance, food will mask all your issues.
Praveen Vijayarangan
When I asked my colleagues where can I get the best sea food .. the 1st name they mentioned was Raju gari dhabba at Rushikonda. I made a point to visit this place on a Saturday . It's a decent hut where the black stones are made into tables. Coming to the food ..i ordered crab fry . Since it was my first time I didn't want to order too much . Crab fry was so damn good and they served you with rice. You can use sambhar or any that curry they kept in your table . It was so filling . I would say it was worth the trip . Crab fry +rice coated me rs.240 ..it's worthy

Food :5/5
Ambience : 4/5 for a beach it's good
Service :4.5/5
Value for money :5/5
Naina Rai
The ambience is nothing worth mentioning but the food here is truly mind blowing. The prawns biryani and prawn fry, both were delectable. And spicy, just as I like it!
Abhi
Food - Andhra style( you get that in every food stall on the streets) nothing much of a difference.
Location- it’s 200m from the Rushikonda, so if you’re planning to visit rusikonda then you can go here, they close down at 3.30.
Price- 170 for chiken biriyani n 180 for dry fish fries...

On my visit to Rushikonda last week, thank to zomato had an opportunity to taste the awesome biriyani of this place ... I was staying at Haritha beach resort, this resturant is in walkable distance from the resort (10mins) , as they do not give home delivery , had to go there ...

Ambience : Its a very small joint with very limited menu .. Plain n simple decor . Nothing too cheesy.. Plain n simple at its best .. My rating : 3.5/ 5

Food n taste : Decor may be simple but is simply awesome . I have to say I never tasted tasty biriyany than this .. I was late at nit to reach d place so couldn't get the fish fries ,, it was also great Well I have to both the dishes were spicy .. So if u r a spice lover , go for this place without a 2nd thought .. My rating 5/5

Staff : As I mentioned , nothing fancy here , the staff boy good.. understands n speak hindi n english ... Courteous n helpful .. My rating 4/5
Value for money : Absoluetly ... Prices are very reasonable as well as quantity.. U can come out of the resurant with a satisfied taste but and without having a hole in ur pocket ... My rating 5/5

If u are visiting rushikonda beach or staying at aptdc beach resort or just nearby the area ..my recommendation is just give ur vacation a twist of taste of spice from this dhaba ..
Happy dining ...

Best food in and around vizag, spicy items and the sea food is beast hear. You won't get this type of biriyani( pulav) in entire vizag. Taste it once guys.
Sandeep Jangala
With great anticipation I went here and took 2 mutton biryanis. Looking at the long waiting queues I was excited to that I would be tasking something amazing. But to my disappointment, the food was not good. Ambience is village style setup. Understaffed and cannot handle peak orders. Takes lot of time to get your food.
Shiva Krishna Allu
I dont know how this got high rating. Its not biryani but pulav. You get good many pieces but its not worth that much amount. Oonchi dukaan pheeki pakwan.
Vishal Gupta Poosarla
every one hyped this place but I find nothing special in this place.biriyani is not that good and curries(chicken, fish, prawn) taste awesome.
value for money - 7/10
ambience -7/10
taste -8/10
service -7/10
No parking availability.

After reading so much about this place in the online world, I was both super excited and a bit nervous! Excited to eat at a place which has been awarded as the best coastal food in India (By Times Now, Foodie Awards 2011) and nervous because from personal experience of Andra Food and some reviews did talk about the spice level in the food to be too much for my liking!

I traveled almost 15km to reach this place which is in a middle of the road and by the beach, I went here for a dinner very early, around 7:30 as I was told that seafood gets exhausted pretty early at this place. When I entered the hut (Yes, its a hut which has fans suspended from the middle of the roof) I was the only guy to have reached the place so early for dinner. There is nothing much of an ambiance to talk about, the tables and seating area was made up of black stone.

The menu is quite limited and is written on a white board, I was disappointed to see a cross against Crab and Fish. The server came and I still tried my luck and inquired about the crab, to which he said since fishing is banned for 45 days he cannot help. Disappointed I ordered a mutton biryani and a prawn fry.

They give you a raita and some chicken gravy with every biryani as an accompaniment. The service was pretty quick and biryani came in no time. At first, I was happy to note that the spice levels in the biryani is not something I cannot manage, the mutton was very soft and tender, it was easily sliding off the bone. I sucked the marrow out of the bone and it came out like a juice out of a straw. But there were other issues with the biryani, firstly the quantity of mutton was very disappointing, they had small pieces of mutton thrown in and just one bone with a marrow in one biryani. I thought it was way too less, they stuffed the biryani with too much rice and very less meat. Secondly, the biryani was not as hot as one wants it to be, this was really disappointing. I give them full marks on the ingredients as everything was locally procured and absolutely fresh, the flavors were one of its kind but it would have tasted even better had it been a bit more hot.

Next came my prawn fry, these were small prawns, the ones your mom brings from a local fish market aunty. Like I said, I can vouch for the quality of their ingredients, the prawns were fresh, did not smell at all and each packed a very powerful taste in them. The only problem? Their spice levels were through the roof for me to relish it, it had smoke coming out from my ears and nose and eyes blurred with water oozing out of them, but even then I must say I still kept eating because the taste was kind of addictive. I must have finished two full bottles of minute maid pulpy orange in between.

Overall I would say for people who enjoy Andra food and love the spicy food should visit this place. For me, I shall give it a pass next time.
It took me a while to figure out where was the hotel. It's a small hut beside the road u have to just figure out the hotel by seeing the cars outside the hut, hut is half visible. It's a crowded place and very slow service ,but food is good.Must try prawn fry and chicken biriyani
Snorlax Appetite
Not An Upscale Place..

This Is A Real Unique Place In Vizag.. Very Homely..

Would Love To Have Fish Everytime I Visit Here.. But You Don't Always Get It..

No Ambience As It's Just A Hut Roadside With An Added Room To Meet The Increasing Demands..

But All that Won't Matter If You Crave For Some Spicy Food..

Biryanis Are Very Good But The Gravy Is Special, a Trademark Of This Place..

Expensive Overall But Worth It In The End..

Subhash Gutti
What a place! I just went 20kms only to eat at raju gari dhaba! Forget abt the ambience u will love the food! Food is amazing here ! I ordered for mutton pulav and it tasted so good! Then i ordered chicken fry starter but its ok ok! Prawns starter was good! Prawn biryani is just amazing! Unfortunately we could not have sea food as we went there late! Must try place when u visit vizag! Food 5/5. They serve fresh and tasty food! Prices are also decent!..

Absolutely love the Non-veg menu. Mutton biryani, mutton fry are my go-to choices whenever I visit this place. A proper dhaba styled place serving hot authentic South indian recipes is something very delightful in the city.

If you're visiting vizag, do not forget to have a meal here.
Prakriti Sen
i just love this place... this place is a must visit for us every time we are in the city. i love their biryani. their is something soulfully delicious about their food. only disappointment is i did not get fish, crab and prawns during my single day visit this time. the catch was not worth buying hence they dud not have the stuffs. the mutton curry is worth killing. it's a must visit. pls go early by 9 pm.as most restos on beach road close a bit early. do call up on their contact number in the evening and you can book for fish, crab or prawn
Bharath Mvs
pretty average food bhayya...
Biryani rice aitey daarunam....
Aa costs ki quantity ki minimum sync avvadhu..
A big let down for us both the times we r up there..
A heaven for non veg lovers, vegetarians can still call for the biriyani and the veg curry. Make sure you call for either curd/Minute Maid as you’re going to be sweating because of the spice.
Pardhu
Forget the ambience the food is just amazing. If You are a biriyani Lover this is the best place to be. A proper desi cuisine. Spicy and Tasty. Anything and everything is good here.
