This place is temporarily closed . A very famous landmark on Amritsar Attari border on Grand Trunk Road Food kitchen a concept of brotherhood and love ,conceived on this side of the border is the one sought after eatery that is a sort of pilgrimage ,the to do list of every travel freak but more so if Punjabi by nature 🤗🤗♥️ The food kitchen ,though has a little OTT facade on first glance is literally a labour of love ,the display buses painted vibrantly in the colour of love and brotherhood are mesmerizing The interiors have rare photographs of partition and aftermath ,quaint little border areas artifacts display nostalgia of brotherhood lost and divided😔😔 The Cuttings of the partition days' editions of The Ajeet and The Tribune newspapers say a sad story with a messanger's neutrality.. Moving experience for the Punjabis, each one of whose ancestors walked through the fire to come out a Patriot 🙏🇮🇳 Finally it is not about food but about Food For Thought😐 ..the futility of war as a concept and Brotherhood as a Finality. Jai Bharat ,Ajay Bhav .🙏 One Earth One World .♥️♥️. .

Nice place. Great ambience. Loved it. The food was good too but a little bit expensive probably because of the location. Can improve their bar and service a tiny bit which explains the lack of a star in a review that otherwise deserved 5-stars. Summing up, I loved the experience and definitely a good getaway from the busy city!! Great combination of two cultures indo and pak

This place is in Attari, the last town before Wagah border. Beautiful place with amazing murals of India Pakistan partition. Its a very cool place to chill. Nimboo chicken, paneer kadhai, butter chicken, yellow daal, Kaali daal, no matter what you order, the food is lip smacking.

If you have time, do visit this place near Wagha Border. Not just for food but for the message they have - Indo-Pakistan friendship. The place is really big and colourful. The ambience is nice and they do have outdoor sitting too. The food was really nice and they have pakistani food too.

Four stars for the ambience. On your left 2 km ahead of the Atari border. On Sunday afternoon, we were advised to be at the border by 3 pm so as to get a good place to sit. Accordingly started at around 1 pm from near Amritsar station; it took us 30-35 minutes to reach Sarhad. Well decorated. Food is above average, but not the best. Around the time we reached, crowd was just getting heavier. May need to wait for 10 min or so to get a table, depending on the size of the group. We managed to finish lunch and start for the border at around 3. Overall, pleasant experience.

If you visit this restaurant, it is certainly not for the food which tends to be marginal. Instead, enjoy the artwork that abounds this landmark restaurant. The management however was accommodating to our requests with it small baby and toddler. The restrooms are very clean. Must visit - if only for the artistic value - you're already there right? :-)

We three friends decided to break the monotony of work and discover the territory of Amritsar on two wheels. So, we got onto our bikes to tour out to a place that offers solace. Our bikes sped through the arms of nature on NH-1, sight of army campuses and intense feeling that we are near to the border; our parted brother Pakistan. Away from the din and bustle of the city life, tractors toiling the soil, cows grazing the lush green fields. A feeling of nostalgia aroused while passing through the villages and verdant fields. Finally we reached the place “ Sarhad”. Parked our bikes at the gate and viewed the beauty of the place. The whole arena has been crafted on a theme of brick style giving a tinge of old Punjab along with uniqueness accompanied by a large lawn wherein beautiful lights and flower pots elegantly rowed along the sidewalk is a delight to the eyes. Ambling through the pathway, the beautiful colourful vans kept at the side of the pathway symbolical to Pakistani Truck Art having elaborated floral designs captivates one’s attention making it difficult to move forward without embracing these beautiful artefacts. Adoring the peacefulness of the place, further we sauntered down the pathway to the open floor/ verandah providing plenty of dining space for a large family to come and visit the place on a sunny day in winters paving way to the indoor restaurant. Beautifully laid down seating with an open kitchen offers a view of the whole place till the entrance and sight of the passing army trucks enthralls one to the core. As we seated and cherished the ambiance; beautifully arranged countertop with books on the olden era and partition , toy trucks with truck art representing vibrancy of Pakistan. Below the countertop, paintings depicting romances of old and popular Punjab; Heer- Ranjha, Sohni- Mahiwal, Sassi- Punnun, Sahiba- Mirza telling the tragic love story is worth embracing and for taking a deep thought over the heartrending folklore tales. Every pillar inside the restaurant has photographs chronicling the stories of friendship of India & Pakistan and the visits made by personalities is indeed riveting. While we adored the ambiance of the place, we were served with cuisines emanating from Lahore & Amritsari Kitchen beautifully plated, the sight of which can take you to the another world. I must say that ambience and built of the restaurant justifies its name. After satiating our craving for cuisines mentioned in the menu card, we moved out of the dining area and entered the adjacent building with glass gates, floored with beautiful tiles and classical and artsy seating housing vibrant Pakistani Suits. As it’s not only the music that’s always needed, peace and talk with friends is equally needed to comfort your soul and the place fits into the criteria. “Sarhad” qualifies as an destination restaurant. Finally we savored tea and biscuits with an evening laughter in the fading sunlight as the sun was going to rest spreading its last crimson rays and it was time to bid adieu.

Good food. Also host open air dining. Situated very close to the border. They also have two small mini trucks replicating Pakistani transport and friendship logos of the two country. Inside they also have wooden trucks for sale which are made in Pakistan and are bought from there. A set of 2 trucks for one 5000. Wooden show pieces only. Ussually people stop here for a quick bite before visiting the wagah border. 2 kms from border.
