My husband chose this place for my birthday dinner. We stepped in & there was literally no one there, so we kinda had our own private dinner. :) The food we had was quite nice, authentic & tasty. Their tapas are a must try. Lots of Veg Options as well. Overall, it was a fun evening. They also do Bongo sessions on Sundays. We attended that too & it was a lot of fun.

Locura, a new entrant in the hidden lanes of #Anjuna, a beachside cafe that serves Mexican & Spanish cusine. They also have a Drum Circle happening every Sunday, post 6pmšŸŖ˜ At my visit here, I tried some really quirky cocktails, the Popcorn Negroni being my favourite! It was a delightfully boozy, intensely sweet but had the classic bitter notes that will really wake-up your taste buds! Coming to the food, I tried the Soya Pincho which was a sumptuous grilled soya chaap, marinated in a spicy and tangy secret in- house mix & Peri Peri Cottage Cheese skewers which again was super succulent and yum! I also tried the Chicken Fiesta, which was prepared using white wine marination along with some spices, serve with herbed rice and pickled onions. I personally think this wasnā€™t the best, it couldā€™ve been a little less tangier. However for dessert, we opted for the Tres Leche, a popular mexican dessert made with a sponge cake which is soaked in a three milk concoction made from whole milk, condensed milk, and evaporated milk, which is an excellent dessert for milk lovers! If you love the sight of the sea alongside carefully curated Cocktails & sumptuous meals.. you have to check this place out! They have a wide range of other Mexican items such as Tacos, Burritos and so much more, for vegetarian & non vegetarian lovers! Make sure to visit them to experience a delicious & fun sundowner, when in Anjuna! šŸ„°

Right on the beach but there is a wall of separation , maybe the bee will be better if you take a table on the upper deck . Any way the thing that lured us to this place was the drumming session which was really good and one big attraction to this place . Food is not so great and drinks too expensive . Was it the best evening here will give it a 60 % and that is for the drumming session.

Locura is located at Anuja Beach. It has a parking spot right next to the restaurant. The interiors are artsy and the music is good. We tried the hummus meditteranean platter which was really nice. Also tried couple of their signature cocktails which are totally recommended. Cucumber Elderflower spritzer is recommended for sure! The upper floor is breezy and has an amazing view. They also have Latin dance nights and drum nights which are totally recommended. The owner has spent a lot of time in Spain and the food is pretty much inspired from his family living in spain. Do give it a try. A much needed change to the Anjuna beach. I would call Locura a breath of fresh air!!

The Spanish tapas were just out of the world. We ordered Chicken Pincho, peri peri chicken, patatas bravas, croquettes chicken and ham, aubergine with honey and shrimp on skewers. All the food was flavorful. The chicken was tender and the spices were just right. I loved the croquettes. They were even better than the ones I had in Madrid. The aubergine was a pleasant surprise. It was the underdog, loved the way it was cooked and the honey definitely complemented the dish. I would definitely be back. The owners were warm and friendly! A lovely chilled place in Anjuna beach. We just loved it! I highly recommend the place.

A team of exuberant people coming together to start a Tapas, Bar and Cocktail Area situated on the most famous sundowner lane of North Goa. Locura is a Spanish word which translates into English as Madness. The place is an inspiration of Mini and Mohit who successfully brought the Spanish vibes along with the ā€œmadnessā€. Personal opinion - love their playlist. Mini who was born and brought up in Spain and after spending 21 precious years of her life in the land of Flamenco music and dance, along with her son Mohit started this venture. Mohit ensured that whatever is being served to me is authentic and carries a story behind it. He being very familiar with the culture there ensured in my visit to create a canvas of experience which I could relate to most extent. Special mention for the team he has hired. Everyone in the space around Locura was really welcoming. Personally met Head Chef : Ahme from Shillong and Head Bartender : Shri from Goa. Striking quality conversation with talented people from the industry is always fun and I still believe they are the real pillars behind any establishment and should be given more limelight. Food and Beverage Review - It was my off so have to start with a drink. Ordered and shooted a video of Popcorn Negroni made up of Popcorn Gin and aperol sweet vermouth. Superb in taste. Flavorful and just missed some Netflix fun šŸ˜ Next I just deep dived into the Non Vegetarian Tapas section. Ordered Chicken Pincho which is basically grilled chicken skewers marinated in a secret house mix. Interestingly the house mix can be prepared in India because Spain has a lot of influence of Turkish Spanish People and spices used in Turkey and India are more or less similar. The house mix ensures this dish is quite familiar to your taste palate. Next comes the most authentic dish that you won't easily get in any Spanish Restaurant in India. It hails with the name Flamaquitas which constitutes crispy ham and cheese rolled up in Chicken mince. The filling of Flamaquitas was really fresh and cheesy. Bread crumbs helped to hold the filling together. Overall must try. Than comes the stress buster dish šŸ˜šŸ¤¤ The broken eggs served with Spanish Chorizo. The way to eat this gem is by breaking the bed of fries in any given desire motion and releasing your entire day frustration on the dish. As the expert says the more you release frustration, the better it tastes. On doing some research I found out this dish is truly hot selling dish in Spain and people can eat it in any course of the day. This dish stand tall in the menu because it's also Mohit's favourite dish from Spain. As to end my meal on sweeter note he presented me with Basque Nutella Chocolate Cheesecake. Me being tempted so much for cheese cake finished it in a go and realised I couldn't eat another thing! The magic this cheesecake holds was in the basque baked burnt impressions it had on it and those flavours that impressions had to offer which quite vividly reminded me of Japanese term ā€œKintsugiā€- the Japanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold. Everything is metaphor in today's world. I personally recommend this place to everyone who loves to try different varieties of food and more importantly to people who loves the history of food. You are in for a treat here if you let your taste palate decide the fate. I said earlier as well everything is metaphor and I am obsessed with it. Food Journey 18 signing off.
