Review The Farm House Bar & Bistro - Benaulim

The ambience is unmatched and the food is excellent too! Very family friendly, and they have huge grounds as well as farm animals which the kids seemed to enjoy. Tried a little bit of the seafood and it was so good, it made me reconsider what I’d ordered! You will never have tasted anything like the baked crab before. However the pork tenderloin I had ordered was also to die for.

We visited The Farmhouse restaurant situated within the inner part of Benaulim, offering one a relaxing place away from all the noise, traffic etc. The setting is very pleasing to the eye. We had the mussels masala raw fry (fresh, decent portion size, cooked well with a good amount of flavour), beef tongue pepper garlic x 2 ( tender soft pieces of tongue, seasoned nicely, portion size was good and full of flavour), Chicken malai kebab (succulent pieces of chicken, making us reach for one more again and again), Goan sausage naan (Goan sausage stuffed in the naan all round, flavourful), crabs butter garlic (another amazing dish by The Farmhouse Restuarant, one and a half medium sized crab drenched in butter garlic sauce) for mains we all had the beef steak (medium) prepared really well and the accompaniments were equally good especially the butter infused mashed potato. For dessert I had the creme brulee (excuse the spelling if its wrong, not the best that I've had, but will do for a restaurant in Goa). We also had the usual non alcoholic beverages. There is ample amount of parking. The service is really good and attentive to requests. They also have live music. We had the pleasure of listening to Kenneth who sings very well.

Goa is my favourite holiday destination not just because of the beaches and the natural beauty, but because of such restaurants here. Loved the place and overall atmosphere. Baked crab is a must try. Other dishes - and the salad was also Good. Verdict: Can visit for sure.

I frequently travel to Goa as this is my favourite place and also near to my home town. Every time I make sure one thing is the best fish food. I checked review of this restaurant and thought to check this and I feel i really found a gem in pocket friendly price. This restaurant is not the main road but slightly inside. They have got a pretty nice area to develop a restaurant in a farmhouse style and the vibe here is very relaxing. When I checked the menu then I found the prices for food as well as liquor is very reasonable compared to other same category restaurants. I ordered some fish in fry and biryani and both were fabulous. I had the best food here that I'm going to remember. I found more localities here since they serve the best food in the area. Must visit restaurant. Preferred time is lunch.. thanks 🙏

It was a long drive from Chikalim on a rainy day...but it was worth the drive by all means. Gem of a place, well maintained and great food. Would love to visit this place again.

The place is set well, in lush green environment with a bit of interesting elements like ducks, birds, rabbits etc for kids. A fountain and well laid out decor is what keeps you happy. We were two adults and 2 kids and ordered the following... Chicken lollipop : were nice. Chicken sizzler : nice taste but the staff should have served us in the plate. It became a mess for us to do so and this is the reason I'm cutting one mark. Mocktails were nice. French fries : not good. Very bland and not crispy enough. Overall we loved the ambience but staff should be courteous enough to serve food in the plate. Attaching few pics

My first visit to Farmhouse was for a family reunion. It was memorable, the sole musician singer was talented, chose our kind of dance music, the snacks were delicious, the actual dinner which was laid out buffet style for the reunion group was blah! Don't even remember what I ate.. nondescript.. the 2 desserts were disappointing.. especially the tender coconut pudding.. I've had better. The ambience was pleasant!

Visited this place for lunch with my friends for my birthday. Loved the live music, it made the entire experience more enjoyable. The service was good while I definitely think the food is good but it still needs improvement. There's so much to look at in the surrounding area when you visit this restaurant. A beautiful water feature to look at while having your food and also plenty of space to walk around right next a scenic pond.

Delightfully rustic atmosphere. Delicious food. Mostly meats, including seafood, but the limited vege selections are equally delicious—not just an afterthought. Live music or karaoke some nights. Highly recommended for a fun evening!

Do visit this place during the day time to truly catch a glimpse of the beauty of nature! It’s a family restaurant with a lot of animals around. The setting of the place is definitely an eye catcher The stuffed crab shells and chorizo are worth it! And the dessert menu is also surprisingly good

Discovered recently, while searching for good and cool place to hold a get together. Cool atmosphere, good food and service. Very crowded on a Sunday afternoon. There was live music which was not up to mark. But that did not make much of a disturbance. Overall good. For a less crowded day visit on week days.

A verdant sprawling space with the sounds of birds, frogs & insects if you're nostalgic. Great ambiance, natural lake and at with lights total different ambience. What to say about food, great taste, variety at its best also staff behaviour was very good. Had one of the best dinner among the lot which I tried in Goa.

Lovely wooden crafted tables, chairs, pillars, roof and all around. Water bed close to the restaurant those who wish to njoi water view with food. Small coconut trees 🌴 easily accessible for fresh coconuts 🥥. Wide range of mocktails, cocktails, beers, whisky, vodka, wine etc... Beware of the chair you sit as few have nails which may rip your top wear. If they could add hookah to their menu, it would icing on cake. Lovely place to be with your family and also can accommodate get-together ❤️ memorable parties

A very nice family restaurant. Lots of Goan specialties on the menu. Competitive pricing. Serenaders put on a good show, though the music was a little loud for my liking. Fish fingers are a must try. Cool ambience. Our waiter was a very decent guy.

Located in the interiors of Varca is this beautiful family restaurant “The Farmhouse”. My go-to place for quick family dinners. Ambience is good with a beautiful water fountain. They also allow fishing during specific hours. Food quantity and price is totally value for money.

Lovely place off the main road. The food is OK, it's quality has dropped over time but the ambience and setting is amazing with lovely open air sitting by the river.

I had only heard about this restaurant once from a friend and atlast I managed to visit it myself. I absolutely loved the vibe here. It was such a serene setting with nicely layed out tables and chairs, multiple water bodies, ducks roaming around and overall pleasant atmosphere.<br/>Coming to food, we only ordered starters since they didn't have naan bread that afternoon, which we were craving so we skipped main course here.<br/>The honey chili potato was too sweet for our taste. On the other hand, the paneer started that we had was really good.<br/>Overall, nice place.

Great Concept, excellent food, and moderate price.  Though the restaurant is not by the beach, it does has its charm.  To go to this place you need to drive through the narrow village road. It's around 500 Mtrs from the main road.  Once you are there.  They have enough parking, a large sitting area so to get a seat on weekdays should not be an issue, but during the weekend you need to the reservation,  as they get full during the weekends.service is a challenge during busy periods. We sat by the bar and ordered our drinks and food.  We ordered Goan sausages and chicken salad.  The food was of excellent quality. They had live bad which was good as well.  The restaurant has its own small lake, they let the customers catch freshwater fish and the kitchen will cook it for them. <br/>Excellent ambiance,  music and great food.  They got it right.

A very spacious, calm place. Loved the ambience and the live music. Coming to the food that we ordered my favourite were the prawns masala rawa fry, squid batter fry and caremel pudding. I felt the chicken cafreal wasn't as good as I had expected it to be. Prices are very reasonable.

This comfortable elegant restaurant with a wooden finish ambience situated in Benaulim where you can have get togethers with family and friends and relax with a chilled glass of beer. The name of the restaurant says alot with the farm to table concept. I can assure you the food is good enough to keep your tummy happy.<br/><br/>We ordered the stuffed mushrooms which was my favourite from the starters. The pork ribs and the crab cooked in spices were good too.<br/>The Chicken satay and the Schezwan chicken was quite decent.<br/><br/>For main course, we ordered beef steak which was cooked perfectly along with sausage pulao which was quite a mouthful.<br/><br/>The owner of the restaurant was quite good to us and offered a complementary dessert since we were in a fix to order between the tiramisu & crème brulée.<br/><br/>My experience was a good one and definitely recommend it to others

Quite a peaceful place with lovely ambience. No parking issues either. Good pricing for the quality they serve. Tried the rawa fried mussels, oriental chicken, squids recheado and naan accompanied by mojito. Meat was properly cooked with good flavors and the drinks were very refreshing. One of those few places which served as per my expectations. Will definitely recommend it.

Lodged away from the noise of the City, Farmhouse Bar and Bistro definitely lives up to its hype, with it's quality food and aesthetics!<br/>'Pub-ish' setting with an indoor and outdoor sit out against the backdrop of a lake that houses ducks and geese.<br/>(Great to host parties and family get-togethers!)<br/>Live music once in a while, and additionally, fishing activities over the weekend.<br/><br/>Started off with a Chicken dry fry (cannot recall the name!) with crunchy onions and greens. Delishhhh.<br/>French fries are less oily here. Masala prawns are delicious, huge and tangy! If you wanna go Goan, sausage pulao is perfect.<br/>Cheese stuffed mushrooms are Amazeballs (quite literally!)<br/>Cheesy garlic crabs are so satisfying, but prepare to get messy.<br/>Thank you for the Food coma, Farmhouse! Their stuffed squids, stuffed mushroom and brandy & peppercorn beef steak is a must have. Ambience is pretty good with a pond, mini waterfall and mini garden around. Pricing is a bit on the expensive side.

The place stands out due to its ambience which is just lovely and peaceful. As for the food and service, it could be better and improved. The servers didn't pay attention when called.

Pleasant and airy surroundings. Good country music played everyday and it's a bonus if you're here on the days of some good live music. Grab your partner and hit the dance floor. The food can be better. Also, most of the food served to us went cold soon. Love the cocktails. I recommend this place for garden parties. Also you can fish here on the weekends.

I visited this place yesterday. A lovely place with beautiful ambience.It has a garden and small lake where they allow fishing on weekends. We ordered mocktails called muddy farmhouse and Rossy lips, both were cool & refreshing. Ordered chicken twister for starter. For main course ordered chonak rava fry and chicken fried rice. All dishes were delicious and mouth watering.

Staff not friendly...Stepped in at 2.30 pm and the greeting was "last order" for the kitchen. The menu said 2.45 pm was last order. Prawn chilly had some very small few pieces of prawn which had to be searched in a bulk of onions. Waiter did not come when called during our lunch, gesturing from far that the place was shut! Overall not worth it unless you are not staying nearby and don't expect much.

Nice place to spend quality time with family. The restaurant has a wooden build with spacious sitting arrangements. The surroundings is green with water bodies which is kids friendly. Quick service and tasty food is really worth noting.

Ambiance: This place is beautifully decorated shells and wooden look. It has a garden surrounded with a lake view. Live music is good here. They have fishing facilities on weekends which is an add-on activity you can do there. Parking space is available. We visited during lunch hours on weekend and it was not very crowdy, so reservation not required.<br/><br/>Food: Ordered a mocktail called muddy farmhouse which was very refreshing and had strong lemon flavour. For starters, we ordered masala rawa fried mussels(very fresh and tasty), masala prawns(must try, had authentic Goan flavour) and chilly crabs(must try, a spicy and juicy preparation of crabs). For main course, we ordered cafreal chicken(delicious, had authentic cafreal flavour, though the gravy was little less) with pav. For dessert we tried sizzling brownie with ice-cream which was good.<br/><br/>Service/price: Good, attentive staff. Service was very good and quick. Also the prices are reasonable.

Farmhouse Bar & Bistro is one of the few famous restaurants down south. Ambience is really pretty and is humongous!! Love the live music and the food is really good. Was a little disappointed with the steak. I ordered for a beef steak on the recommendation of the owner. I ordered for my steak to be medium rare got two pieces of steak one being well done and the other medium rare. I love my steak and I wasn't really happy about half of it being well done. The sausages and bread we're very good though.

Magnificent place, I love the music and furniture, great garden. The food is also good and nicely presented. But the place is really something. You can spend a nice afternoon or night here. Eat, dance and walk in the garden wile clicking pictures.

The farmhouse located in Benaulim is good but the quality is not so good.<br/>We had a bad experience in Food and Hospitality. The staffs are okay but when we thought of this place, the expectations were not met.

The only thing good about this place is the ambience. They do not know how to cook meat as the pork and beef that we had ordered was terribly undercooked. The prawn Curry we had ordered was average. The only thing I enjoyed was the tomato juice and that would have been poured out straight from a carton. I would not recommend this place to anyone.<br/>

During my last trip to Goa I visited this place. The ambiance is awesome but food and service is pathetic.<br/>We ordered fruit pinch which came with maaza topped with ice cream. We asked the waiter to blend and get it. They blended the ice cream and maaza and charged us Rs. 250/- for a glass of fruit punch. It was not on menu too and hence they charged as they felt for this pathetic drink. Also while ordering they said they do have fruit punch and got this maaza with ice cream.<br/>Lime soda too was made with lime syrup and not real lemon.<br/>We ordered chili chicken which was good. The mixed fried rice that we ordered was pathetic. The prawns in the fried rice was not clean. The black thread from prawns was not removed.<br/>Restrooms were clean.<br/>Overall the experience was bad. Will never go again.

True to its name...this place really does resemble a farm house. Hidden deep in the Benaulim village, this is a wonderful place to bring your family or have a romantic dinner by the fountain.<br/>The service is quick and the food is delicious. Live bands play here most days or weekends and there is also a dance floor, should one want to.<br/>Tried the fish fingers (modso) which was yummy served with a tartare like dip and the chicken pepper garlic. Both starters were yummy. Great place to chill with friends and family.<br/>

Such beautiful location. Goan cuisine served here is good. A bit pricey for their portion sizes, the ambience makes up for that. You wouldn't mind going again because the property is well developed.

Whats striking about ds place is d ambience. The place is huge and very spacious. The view is beautiful with a lovely fountain ...But d food is average. The menu dsnt offer a lot of variety. The fish is fresh nd well cooked but nt high on spice. <br/>Service is good but slow... d waiter forgot to get our cheese garlic naan after making us wait for a long tym.<br/>Overall a good place for chilling wit ur friends.<br/>

Horrible food and service . I will not recommend anyone to go there . We went on 14 th to celebrate children's day . We tried Indian , goan and chinies good . All were horrible . Staff was bad and worst service . I have been in goa for 15 years now . This is the worst food experience so far .

It was our last day in goa and we were super hungry... With four hours bfore our flight to bangalore and a storm advancing, we headed off to this small bistro with an almost-missable sign pointing into a byelane... But once we got there, all we wished for was to never leave! Great live music, amazing food, cheap yet delicious wine and a very cordial staff are its highlights! It's a must-try if you are in south goa. :)

Having read some good reviews we decided to visit this afternoon, unfortunately the rude waiter/ captain ruined our brief stay there. All we asked was about the fishing facility they had, and he kept insisting on us giving the order, rude is a very mild word for his behaviour. I doubt I'll ever go again or recommend anyone. If there is a way for negative marking I'll want that for farmhouse

A great value for money place. We found this place online and had lunch here. Located off the main road, it has a peaceful and relaxing ambience. Being a Sunday, they had a live band playing which added to the atmosphere. <br/><br/>The service was prompt and courteous.<br/><br/>We ate chicken lollipops & fried prawn as starters and chicken biryani in the main course. Food was excellent, only that, the biryani was too oily and it's chicken chewy.<br/><br/>Excluding alcohol, 2 people can easily have a full meal under Rs 1000.<br/>

Lovely ambience for dinner, loads of space. We ordered fish fingers, both great in taste n Portions.fish n chips,grilled chicken steak,golden fried prawns,dal tadka n rice,fried fish in masala, everything was really good.so definitely hats off to the chef..Now the downer..We found the place around 4 pm and saw the waiters hanging around so tried to get Information fr dinner since we found the place to be very beautiful but they seemed totally disinterested and didn't even bother to give us any info..Well we still went fr dinner..Wanted to try inspite of them..But same problem persisted.<br/>The minus points are the staff....Rude ,disinterested , mechanical..The Prawn in butter garlic sauce starter was supposed to have 6 to 7pcs which I specifically asked since we are 10 people ..But ended up getting 4 PCs n plenty of prawn tails instead so we called the same waiter again n instead of listening he insisted that we were wrong ,we very patiently told him that we were serving one pc per non veg person so that we could all taste it before ordering more and we only got 4,the rest were just tails...but he was quite rude and when we asked fr the owner or manager he said go yourself and talk to him he's sitting in the corner so we got up but someone else came n pacified us n sent us another set...It quite spoilt our evening which was our last one in Goa...Quite a pity really coz food n ambience was so nice...Set around a water body n a fountain...Change or teach the staff courtesy n u have a winner..Prices are reasonable as well...

The place is excellent, no doubt. The food is average.<br/>And they have this lake along the restaurant where you can fish between 11 am and 2pm. If you catch any, they will cook it for you.<br/>We ordered for prawns rechead, pork chops, chicken chilly goan, squid butter garlic, chicken cafreal dry, chicken biryani, hakka noodles and sizzling brownie.<br/>Pork chops were a little hard to bite.<br/>Chicken chilly was average considering the boiling of chicken.<br/>Prawns rechead was good but somehow it missed the tang of the traditional rechead. Quantity was less.<br/>Squid butter garlic was good taste wise but the squid was a little chewy.<br/>Biryani was a simple pulao.<br/>Noodles were very good but again the quantity was less.<br/>Sizzling brownie was served in a sizzler platter with ice cream not on the brownie. Hence it melted before it reached our spoons.<br/>Overall, full marks for the place.<br/>

An amazing place tucked away from the main road. The property is big and well maintained. Extremely prompt service and a very cheerfull staff. Crowd is good adding to the already decent ambience. When we went a karaoke was going on. The food is really well prepared. Although the menu is vast but since we are just two of us We had a calamari masala fry as starters which was really tasty. For main course the kingfish goan curry that we ordered was amazing. The drinks are also reasonably priced. Overall a very nice place. Would recommend all who are in south goa to definitely visit it once.

Farmhouse is a great place for a group to unwind and spend the evening. Tucked away far from the madding crowd, you would need GPS to find the place. Adequate parking and more than adequate seating are available. We left a very boring Martins to this place and loved it!<br/><br/>The food is very good. We ordered a variety of items and everything was above average. The steaks were the best, followed by sausage naan. Alcohol is priced well. not over the top. The owners are lovely people, very hospitable on the phone and in person. <br/><br/>Great karaoke on Friday evenings, so make sure you practise your songs!<br/><br/>The place is so large that it is easier to walk up to a staff member than to catch his eye. But we do not mind that in Goa :-)

Visited this place twice with my friends.. its a huge restaurant.. awesome food.. has a nice fountain and pathway to take a walk. Look out on Mondays, they are closed. And we never know when private functions take place and we walk-in and they deny to offer a table. Suggest to make a call before u walk inn.

Yummiest food, very friendly folks, clean, large place.. never expected veg starters and sizzlers to be so good in goa! The cheese stuffed mushrooms were simply divine... the mussels fry were a revelation by itself!!!

Farmhouse is a place introduced by my goan friend and it is a beautifully done place with good food in benaulim ahead of the Trinity church, mostly frequented by locals.<br/>Good quality and tasty food , goan food especially is good.<br/>They have a nice stocked bar and the ambience is very different for a goan restaurant, the place is huge and the owner seems passionate about his place.<br/>Good place for a night out drinks and food with friends.

Sadly, we found the place only on the last night of our 5 day stay in South Goa!!<br/><br/>The place has a beautiful, grand, well ventilated ambience with spacious seating and ample parking space. The menu is interesting with a vide variety of cuisines. We tried some Batter Fried Calamari Rings and Pork Chops along with a Mocktail & Whisky. <br/><br/>The food is 'Good' and 'reasonably priced' compared to the others in the vicinity. The place even offers you the option to catch your sea food fresh from their adjacent pond, which is connected to the river that flows by. Since we visited in the month of May, the pond was dry, I guess it would be ready once the river swells during the monsoons which begins in a week, that's the 1st week of June.<br/><br/>A large scope of improvement lies among the waiting staff, I think its more of a lack of training. The waiters are not upto the mark, (I am referring to my table here) they lack basic courtesy. A little bit of guidance to the waiting staff, I think it could turn out to be the best place in Benaulim.<br/><br/>Look forward to visiting again in my next trip to Goa!

We are Vegan and follow a whole plant based diet. We checked with the owner of the restaurant if they can provide us food which has no dairy, no oil, and no refined food products. The owner told I shall personally get the same cooked as per your request and booked our table for Sunday 7:00 pm. She also promised us she will bring wheat pasta from home for us.<br/><br/>We reached the restaurant at 6:55pm but everything was closed. I checked with the staff for the owner but was told she will come after 8:00pm. I told them to take our order. The staff told us will take order after 8:00pm as still the kitchen is not ready. <br/>The chef came at 8:00pm and told us he cannot make any food without oil. We told him about the talk with owner but got a reply she is not coming to the restaurant today and they were not instructed for the same. We also were caring a packet of raw pasta but they denied cooking the same.<br/><br/>As we were about to leave I checked with the staff if I could speak to the owner at that time he got the packet of raw pasta which the owner had kept for us but still the cook was not ready to cook it without the use of oil. <br/><br/>We also had problems for our dinner as we had to travel to find another restaurant.<br/><br/>I shall only say if you have any food restrictions don't trust this restaurant. <br/><br/>Please choose a restaurant which will stick to their commitment and give customer service. <br/><br/>

We decided to visit the place two days before eating there as my parents, and I are vegan and do not consume any food with oil. We spoke to the owner of the restaurant who said that they could provide the food for us as well as booked a table before the restaurant starts (7 pm) so she can help us with our food. On the day of the booking, we reached the restaurant we found out that the place had not yet started and no one came to help us and the owner was not in sight. We waited till 7:30 where the employees of the restaurant were getting everything started and gave us our table. When asking the employees about when the owner would arrive, they did not respond and said that they did not know. Finally, after all the waiting one of the employees came to take our order. But to our fear, he had to no knowledge of what our food restrictions were and only said that they could not make the food we asked for two days back. When we requested to speak with the owner, the employees stated that she wouldn't be making it to the restaurant today and if we were to talk to her, we had to wait till late night or come back on Friday (As she only visits the restaurant on Friday, Saturday and Sunday). This was very disappointing for us and caused a lot of difficulties that evening as we had to change our plans and caused problems. I recommend not visiting this restaurant if you have any food restrictions of any kind.

A real Gem you can find in Benaulim. A hidden place in the wild but worth a visit especially for seafood lovers and Music lovers. I say must go when you are in South Goa. Okay Plus points 1.location 2.aumbiance 3.music 4.amazing food 5.happening place. The only minus will be their waiters some of them are really new and should be trained about the menu. After all love to visit again.

Do not order anything other than fish and some non veg dishes. Not that it is terrible but, you are better off wirh fish. Live music is fun. Service needs a little improvement.

If you intend to eat the fish you catch yourself, you better be lucky or know how to catch fish!!! If you think you can easily get fish by throwing in a line with some bait, then you might wait all afternoon waiting and watching the small pond where they have left some fish for people to catch for fun.<br/><br/>Now to get back to what I love to do ..... eat food. <br/><br/>Had some local fish in Goan style and suckling pig with Goan bread followed by Bebinca for dessert. with

When we entered, a mid aged beautiful lady greeted us with a pearly smile and gave us our table. So now, we were already convinced that they have good hospitality. This place, speaks the actual meaning of the culture of Goa. The drastic Goan-Portuguese old ambiance, the live band playing the good old songs and the authenticity of food is simply amazing.<br/><br/>We ordered two bottles of Dia red wine, some seafood and more. All in all the food was delicious and the service was spot on. A good place to have a long siesta time, surrounded by good interiors, overlooking lush green fields and free wifi.<br/><br/>1. Easy on the pocket (not too expensive)<br/><br/>2. Good taste and quality of food.<br/><br/>3. Free Wifi<br/><br/>4. Good parking space.<br/><br/>5. Far from the traffic noise and pollution (place is located somewhere in the middle of nowhere in Benaulim)<br/><br/>6. Had a great time at this place. The ambience is too good and food is amazing. A must visit place with friends especially night time... Chicken dishes are worth eating... though we did not try seafood but I've heard it's equally yummazing... it's a hidden gem in South Goa..

A hidden gem I'd say, it's a bit difficult to find this place but once you've successfully located it you will be anything but disappointed. The place is very well done, unique decor, I love what they have done with the ceiling. Now coming to food- marvellous is the word. I love their pork and beef dishes and as well as the beef tongue, all so well cooked. The prices of the dishes are a pleasant surprise. This place is value for money.

This is probably a new hidden gem in South Goa. My wife n me visited this place for an impromptu party hosted by one of our family friends. Absolutely loved the ambience, the decor, food and concept of this place. It was a karaoke nite hosted by Kenneth and we had a fab time singing the oldies and eating some fab Goan food. Must try their crabs, butter garlic prawns , King fish recheado & beef roast. The restaurant is set besides an outdoor lake and I hear they host fishing and boating on Sunday afternoons, that must be super fun and I definitely wanna do that the next time I visit this place. A must visit for sure !
