Review Matteo Coffea - Bengaluru

Anaswara Santhosh
This place is a vibe. Been here a couple of times. The drinks and snacks are really good. But it’s a place where you can just hangout with a good cup of coffee or hot chocolate, listen to some good old music and relax. My fav time to visit is after 8pm as it won’t be too crowded. I honestly don’t come here for the food as I love the vibe of this place more.

I have been to church street many times but didn't get the chance to visit Matteo Coffea and finally today we got a chance to visit the place and it was an awesome experience with food and their coffee. The place was good even impressed with their service, keep up the good work however prices were a little high due to its location. I would definitely try this place again. This place is also.good for the kids and they have options available for kids as well. Coffee options are really 👍👍👍 Thanks 👍👍👍😊😊👍👍👍

Nice cafe with good vibes and yummy food to munch on. Perfect for a casual brunch or if you are craving something sweet. Quantity served per dish is enough for two people... Parking is a problem as it's located in a side lane of Churchsteet

Matteo Cafe is a decent place that boasts a prime location just steps away from the metro station. Their coffee is a delightful surprise; it's rich and flavorful. One unique aspect is that you have to explicitly request no sugar if you prefer your coffee unsweetened, as it's typically served sweet. The french fries we ordered were enjoyable, and the pricing is reasonable, with an average cost of around 500-600 rupees for two people. A unique coffee experience for those looking for a change of pace.

Great ambiance. A good place for coffee lovers. There are a variety of coffee options. We tried their hazelnut and caramel cold coffee, which were perfect (not too sweet and not too bitter). Also their peach green tea was great. A perfect spot for coffe lovers.

Brigade Road and its surroundings don't offer many spacious cafes. However, this particular place is quite spacious, and you usually won't have trouble finding a seat. It's not the best spot to work though, as the seating setup isn't work-friendly and it can get quite noisy due to its close proximity to other activities. The food and drinks are decent, but not exceptional. Of course, I haven't tried everything on the menu, so it wouldn't be fair to make a general judgment.

Though the food is nothing to write home about, it's the ambience and atmosphere of the place that stuck out most to me. The staff was very quick with serving the food too. Overall, a good place to sit and do some work on your laptop, or just meet some friends

I really loved this place, stopping by every afternoon to take a break! I always order some ice tea (served with a syrup, to let yourself deal with its sweetness 😍) and a piece of cake (layered with cream). Waiters are very nice and the prices there are really good for the area. From the covered terrace, you can see the busy road and enjoy a good book (bookstore is just next door 🤭). Also tested their egg sandwiches, and I was surprised by how good and well-stocked it was 😳. Sometimes, you'll have to wait a little to have someone taking your order (very busy near 3pm but okay near 2pm).

Had a nice lunch at this well located cafe'. It's a rather large restaurant with plenty of indoor seating and covered outdoor street side seating. Service was polite and brisk and the food tasty. we had iced coffee latte, penne in cream sauce, penne bolognese and spicy lamb burger. The Coffee and the penne dishes were particularly nice. The lamb burger was too smothered in mayonnaise to get the flavour of the lamb patty.

Great food. Great energy. Walking distance from MG Road metro station (Church Street Exit). Portion sizes are huge.

A great place to grab a cup of coffee on church street, situated in on of the most happening places in Bengaluru with a great ambience and crowd provided delicious accompaniments.

My fav place since college. I would go here every single day with my best friend. I love their mocha shakerato, it’s a nice place with good coffee and if I want to sit out and read my fav novel, this is the place I go to :)

Lovely cafe to spend the evenings out on Church Street - for both work and leisure. Great seating arrangement, absolutely cozy. Honestly, love everything on the menu. However, I do have my favourites. Caramel shekerato, Chicken burger and fries combo, Chicken Penne Nepolitana, Mediterranean salad, Chocolate cake, Brownie, Cheesecake and their Tiramisu is the BEST!

Matteo has been around for ages, I was here once 8 years ago, and now a month ago and the quality of coffee and service is still top notch, if not better.

Delicious coffee served here, and it's hilarious how a new Starbucks has opened right in front of it, and it looks empty compared to a much older matteo across the road. It's almost a symbol of great classic Bangalore cafe! 👌
Vedika Parvez
Terrible coffee. Disgrace to coffee parlours. Wouldn't go another time even if it was the only coffee parlour in this city.
Megha A
The music was suitable for a pub than coffee shop and everyone sitting there were shouting rather than talking. I wish it was less loud. Apart from that everything was great. Staff, food drinks. As usual, just great.

This place was always my goto place whenever I head to church street . I love this place because of its creamy pastas. Form last 4 years I have been coming here .

This time it was different , we went with a group of 4 friends . we did not get place outside , we had to seat really inside .

Staffs they were really not taking our orders , we had to wait do 20 minutes to place an order .

Pasta was good as always .

Chicken burger was more of mayo and cabbage and less on the chicken side.

Didn't like it at all.

And panert wrap it sucks.

This time the failed to impress me over here

What happened to you guys?

A very lively and jazzy cafe to chill out with outdoor seating. Basic ambience , Good vibe and delicious savoury - to be looked out for and must visit for.

A really cool place to enjoy your chats over coffee. The place was packed being a Saturday as usual but the service was quick. Loved the freshness of the brownie and ambience is something to come back for.

Ambience is awesome, liked coffee latte and crowd. Real good feel being here and sipping cup of coffee.

If you’re looking for best coffee places in Bangalore, you must visit Matteo Coffea. It is hands down the most buzzing Bangalore cafes, known for authentic coffee and desserts. Famed as a speciality coffeehouse, this place uses the top-quality Arabica beans for the rich coffee taste. Though the food served here is super delicious and varied, this place offers the best coffee in town and has won the hearts of many coffee connoisseurs
Apoorva Jaitly
Absolutely in love with this place! The cold coffee and the spaghetti pasta are to die for..and the chocolate brownie is just HEAVENLY. Even the vibe of the place is so chill and relaxing, can sit here foe hours at ease with friends or even alone with a book or with your office laptop if you’re working remotely! Hands down one of the best coffee places.
Lekhashree G
One of the nicest coffee shops in Bangalore, set on Church Street. They have an outlet at Indiranagar too. Quite big yet the place is always full, owing to their great working ambience and delightful coffees. Kind staff and quick service. Absolutely a go to coffee shop! :)

Food quality : 5/5
Service : 5/5
Value for money : 5/5
Ambience : 4.8/5

I am giving this review only because of their bad service. Matteo needs no introduction but the staff was extremely lousy and ill mannered. We were two people and the place was half empty.we sat on one of the red sofas.we were told in a very rude manner that we cannot sit in a red sofa because it's reserved. On being asked where is the reservation tag they said sofa is not for two people and was arguing. They forgot our dessert order as well.people keep coming back to Matteo for good food but doesn't mean staff should be so impolite.i understand if they were jam packed they could have asked us to shift but the attitude with which they spoke was extremely unpleasant.Noy expected from such a place!
Kavitha Padmanabhan
We had a shake, cinnamon roll and fries. Food was ok. Service was the worst. Takes ages and attitude of staff is terrible. And even to get the bill we had to call them several times. Was a mood killer overall.

One good place to sit and do meetings the pasta was yummmy , specially the French fries appropriately fried and the chicken burger was yumm to the core. Cease salad with grilled chicken was perfectly served one place to visit to have a peaceful time with team mates for discussions

Nice ambiance to sit and chat with your friends. Prime location. Coffee was nice. Food was good. The menu should have more and varied items I believe

Had this shake of the day which was brownie shake! Also had their blueberry cheesecake! Both were pretty good! This place is jam packed and i love the way the captains handle everything smoothly! Would definitely visit here again!!!!

Loved the calm ambiance. Amazing food.
Must try: chicken pasta
Pardhu Madipalli
Such a great coffee. This is a perfect place for coffee lovers. I visited this and Indiaranagr branch 3 times in 2 months though it is 15 kms away from home. I prefer hot coffees and I feel White chocolate Mocha is the best here. Caffe Mocha is also very good. Never tried Shekerato, but are good based on friends' reviews.
Soumodip Saha
Great ambiance to just sit and relax with friends or with a book.
Alafiya Hasan
Our order was forgotten FOUR times, we waited a whole hour for a single mediocre burger. Absolutely terrible.
Alisha
Salads doesn’t mean cabbage, I won’t recommend anyone to order salads from here.

If you are a Alfredo Pasta lover then this is the right place to have
Yummiest pasta I ever had
And offcourse the place has a very good ambience although the service was a little slow but the taste of paste was worth the wait..
On the rating of 5
Taste 5/5
Ambience 4/5
Service 3/5
Value for money 3.5/5

Had some crazy fellow simply clicking pics of ours and the employees were not saying anything to him even after noticing it.

Large space, and you're left very much to your own devices. Staff don't push you to order, and there is enough spacing between tables that you can have a completely private conversation. Comfy seating, and the coffee is good. Always busy!

Food, service, quality, quantity, taste everything is perfect
This is hands down my most favorite café in Bangalore. Situated at the heart of Church Street this place offers a beautiful outdoor sitting area where you can sit quietly having a good read and an even better coffee.
Coffee lovers, try out their awesome chocolate espresso, Mocha and even the classic Americano. They make a very filling and tasty club sandwich. Don't forget to try their blueberry cheesecake to satisfy your sweet tooth.
Love this place. Will keep visiting :)
Ankita Mohanty
Caffe Mocha : espresso seerved with premium chocolate sauce mixed with steamed milk and garnished with chocolate sauce.
Price - Rs170

Located in one of the food hubs locality of Bangalore metteo is always packed with foreigners and serves you one the best cold coffees in the city. The ambience is okay not that great of a catch but a decent place to hangout with friends or go on dates. They also have good fries and sandwiches one can try. .

Good place for a quick bite and coffee/shakes... prompt service and view of the busy Church Street makes it a decent place for casual hangout
Tales N Tastes!
On a crowded lit Saturday evening being to brigade road is a bliss in itself. While strolling across the street we happened to go to this place which was right opposite to the mg road metro station - church Street side.
The outdoor section of this place is what drew us to enter in. It had some really fancy crowd and super comfortable sofa seating. The ambience was quiet and peaceful.

Service :-
Both the kitchen and table service was impeccable. The staff looked quite active and was well versed in the menu and gave suggestions accordingly in both drinks (shakes) and food menu.

Food :-
This place is extensively known for it's coffee and desserts. You will be spoilt for choices with their wide range of coffees and shakes.
We ordered for caramel shakerato and a choco hazelnut shakerato. Both had a coffee base and they tasted really good. My personal favorite was the choco hazelnut shakerato. It was just perfect in it's taste.
We then ordered for mushroom omelette and chicken Tikka wrap. Both the dishes managed to taste good, although the presentation wasn't that appealing.
We also ordered for a pink sauce pasta which wasn't that great taste wise. I have devoured on much better pastas out here in Bangalore. So this one didn't go well with my palate.

Overview :-
Food - 4
Ambience - 4
Presentation - 3.5
Service - 4

A cafe with a lot of sitting area. The ambience is good. Staff is polite. Had only hot cocoa and it was good. Nice place to relax and chat. Overall 5 stars.

Swift service, reasonably priced.

We liked the butterscotch and honey coffee shake - bit too sweet but different from what I've tried elsewhere. The club sandwich was decent. The iced tea was rather ordinary. For the prices it has, the place is good.
When it comes to having coffee after my college, this is my go to place. Not that expensive for the quality and quantity they serve.

Absolutely love this place. The coffee is very well made. Food portions are good and really tasty. Their deserts and baked items are simply heaven. For chocolate lovers, I would definitely recommend their chocolate croissant and their exquisite chocolate pie.
Anamika
Best chocolate croissant and cinnamon role in Bangalore. Pocket friendly and amazing staff 👍
Anjana Mohan
Lovely place with an outdoor seating(which is mostly full all the time) . I have tried their white sauce paste and paneer Tikka sandwich (which is the best) and really yummy coffees. Must place for light snacking and to quickly kill your hunger if near MG road.
Satwik Panda
Took cheesecake for wifes bday. On purchase realised it was the abomination that is no bake cheesecake. Instead of the densy, rich and creamy texture of actual cheesecake, we ended up with something that more closely resembles flavored whipped cream.
Bhamini
The ambience is elegant and classy. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The seating capacity and comfort is definitely an add-on. The service is good. It's easy to distinguish the staff dressed in red and white striped tees. The music being played add on to the vibes offered by the interior decor. Not every eatery in Bangalore play songs by ABBA and MJ these days.
The varieties of coffees, shakes and shakeratos being offered is commendable. We had ordered creamy penne pasta, a Choco brownie shake and a hazelnut shekerato. The pasta was optimum cooked with yummy creamy white sauce and served with garlic breads. The shakes we're rich and awesomely tasty :)
JaIbA TaNbI
Awesome food especially the chicken pasta and salad I hope everyone should once try it in their lifetime... if u wish to visit this caffe please do not waste your time n visit there asap
Keshin Siddharth
Very average cafe, impolite staff.
The only cafe in Bangalore that denies WiFi access claiming that it's slow and doesn't allow customers to use their plug points to charge their laptops. When requested the supervisor in charge- 'buddha' mentions that it's the MD's rule.
Shraddha Iyer
Been coming here for almost 8 years. Cozy and comfortable place. Great coffee, and great spaghetti here. Friendly and helpful staff
Their shakes are the best.
Aanisha Mishra
I tried cafe mocha and hazelnut shekerato. Both were good. Apple pie was hot, soft and amazing. Veg Burger was ok. Music can be improved. Not very soothing.
Moksh

The cafe is located at very prime location. I have been here twice. They have indoor and outdoor sitting arrangement. Good place to sit and chill with friends or gf. Music was light, you can spend hours sitting here. We ordered mocha and caramel shekerato, Penne pasta nepolitana. Taste was good and service was also fine.
Bon Vivant
A wonderful way to spend the Sunday evening. The place has happy vibes, simple, comfy decor. The food is just mind blowing good. We ordered cafe mocha it was so good we ordered it again. Also ordered hot cocoa and choco brownie shake. Loved every sip. We ordered white penne pasta, do not leave this place without trying that. The Vegetable burger was not bad either but try the mushroom omelette. All and all come to this place enjoy the ambience and the beautiful food.
Jyothi Jo
best place to have conservations with a cup of coffee. the beverages are tasty and they are quite expensive. people sit there for 2 to3. hours . well maintained place to chit chat and to have food.
Deepak Maloo
Been to this place a couple of times. Nice neighborhood cafe sorts. Has both indoor as well as outdoor seating, and generally crowded on weekends (you might have to wait for a few minutes to get a seat inside, on a hot day).

Tried their latte and spanish omelette on both occasions. Both were good! Became the comfort menu choices pretty much the first time itself. Will definitely want to try more things on the menu next time when I am there (and hopefully hungrier for a fuller meal than just an omelette).

Staff is courteous but the service is somewhat slow. Not complaining, but a watchout in case you are looking for a quick grab / eat and go.
Ramsy
I have been visiting this place for like 5-6 years since I have known. My first favorite thing that I would love to order was a Shekarato (all the ones on the menu are good, just that when you feel like having more sweeter taste you don't wanna order white mocha one) and the next most favorite thing is the alfredo penne pasta (both with chicken and with veggies) are class one it's one of the best pasta I prefer in Bangalore. But from few months they are making Shekarato little dilute it tastes more kind of a cold coffee though, I don't know I am not preferring it for that amount of money. Pasta is a must if you visit this place, its like the signature dish here. I did have one veg burger and fries, which were not that great. And we ordered a cappuccino it was fine, if you wanna hangout with your laptop or just a book, its a great cafe. Good ambiance and good crowd. Little crowded on weekends though, but better place to sit than a CCD ;)
Shweta Pal
Went for coffee with a friend after lunchtime. The place was pretty packed up and the ambience is vibrant. The service was good but they do take time to prepare the drinks. I ordered a cappuccino which was tasty and nice. We sat over an hour chit chatting and the staff was cool with it. Then ordered a chilled ice tea which was perfect for that hot day. The prices are affordable. Overall, a great place to hangout with friends for quick bites.

Matteo Coffea is one of the most celebrated coffee shops in Bangalore. The church street outlet is quite spacious with comfortable seatings. They offer an outdoor, an indoor and one more premium indoor seating options. I have tried their "Mushroom Omelet" it tasted delicious, was cooked with a generous amount of eggs, cheese, and mushrooms, and was served with brown bread, veg patty and salads on the sides. I also had one "Veg Club Sandwich", the filling was very heavy and fulfilling for two.
I couldn't have left this place without trying the coffee. I tried a "Caffe Mocha" and an "Iced Caffe Latte". I think the rain at that very moment made the coffee more comforting. The prices are very economical for the quantity and quality of food they serve.
Andrea Jane
So my cousins took me to the this beautiful cafe on MG road. Ss you enter the cafe, you can get the lovely smell of coffee. The ambience as well is really nice and peaceful, a nice place to catch up with friends or family over a cup of coffee.

If here, do try the Chicken Tikka Sandwich, Chicken Nepolitana Spaghetti (I ordered mine with just the spaghetti not the veggies), Hazelnut Shakerato, Mocha Shakerato, Chicken Burger.

The quantity of the food served is really good, and the service also is quick.
Avishek Banerjee
Good place to sit and chill with your friends on brigade road. They have some nice pastas and club sandwich.do try out their Spanish omlette

Loved it! Our order of hazelnut latte and hazelnut shake was simply amazing. The cinnamon roll was perfect, with a goey core. The service was also prompt, inspite of the crowd.

A cosy coffee shop in church street where you could spend hours and catch up with your kith and kin. Their tuna fish sandwich is to die for! We can choose between white and brown bread.
Surbhi Pershad
The perfect place to meet out. The shakeratoos are delicious and have elaborate variants. I tried the ceaser salad which is heavenly, would love to explore the other food options when I’m there next.
Suriya Gayathri
Matteo is a stop shop for most serious shoppers in church street. It serves a good cup of joe for all those who need their batteries recharged. They have a decent variety of sandwiches and I really enjoy their eggs. Their cappuccinos really get me going when coffee is all one needs.

One of my favorite Cafes to hangout. Love the "Penne Pasta N Cream Sauce" and cappuccino here and is a must try. Nice Ambience and environment.

My favourite hot cocoa in town. Can’t go wrong with this order. I prefer mine Grande cos of the deliciousness. The other one is a Hazelnut Shekerato which I didn’t try cos my dish was too good! My hubby loved it though.

If you’re in the mood for some good coffee, good food and a cozy ambience, please head to Matteo. May it be evening or day, any time is coffee time. And please DO TRY ALL THE SHAKES! It’s freakin awesome!

Its pure bliss to have a cup of Cappuccino here.

After a long wait, I visited this place with my mother a few days ago. Matteo is a place I visit regularly (Church St) It’s one of the best Cafes in Bangalore. Even for for vegetarians there are lots of options to choose from. Ambience and location is great, Love their cinnamon roll, Caesar salad and pasta. Would definitely recommend everyone to try it.

In the heart of Church Street this place has quite and peaceful ambience that is perfect to hangout with friends. You can sit here for quite sometime to talk and relax.

Drink was also really good. We ordered Caramel Shekerato along with mocha as well as hazelnut Shekerato. In food, we had club sandwhich, chicken burger and blueberry cheese cake. Having known for the best coffees ! I did check in this place to have the same. The ambience is just on point with one’s cosy coffee time !
The music they play at the cafe not put up well.
Their ice coffee drinks are really good.
However I liked the cappuccino I had ordered and on a scale of 1 to 5 I would rate it as 4!
Service can be improved.

Ambience 4/5
Service 2/5
Dish served 3/5
Me
A disappointing service from my favourite cafe really makes me feel very sad.

Today I was here with a friend whom I met after a 2 long years ( place suggested by me 😔 )

To start with, the service today was very very poor. Despite not being very crowded today, which in itself is very shocking as this place use to be very crowded, the orders came in very very late. I had to keep reminding them of my order. My Shekerato came to the table just when i had decided to leave after me and my friend had finished our sandwich. It was servered almost after 45 minutes from the time the order was placed.

Coming to the food, we ordered blueberry cheesecake shake, Black and white Shekerato, Tuna fish Sandwich and Chicken Baguette sandwich.

The shake was okies, it had very less of cheese and more of cream. It was so sweet that we could not finish it.

Tuna Sandwich was good, it was fresh and the bread was very soft.

Chicken Baguette tasted good , it had a good quantity of chicken which was very creamy. But, it was made with brown bread and not baguette.

The Shekerato was more of a regular cold coffee.

I was very disappointed today, may be it was one of those bad days. I say so because I use to love this place.
Milind Kaduskar
A one time favourite has now devolved into a decrepit shell with unfriendly staff who talk like they’d rather be anywhere else but work here. Go in here if you have a masochistic desire to treat yourself to a healthy serving of sullen, listless, tactless and rude staff. The food, to their credit though, is pretty much the same.
The Hip Foodies
When work life including a working lunch then you end up at Matteo Coffea, one of oldest places on Church street for a work meeting! Love their coffees and the #menu options!
#vegan options available too! I had a #cafemocha with #soymilk and it tastes delicious!
Pictured here is their #pennepasta #nepolitana which was #delicious and prepared with #fresh #ingredients
Do give them a try, if you are looking for a space to just sit down and work in a #relaxed space!! #midweekmotivation #thehipfoodies

One of my favorite coffee places in Bangalore. Amazing coffee, loads of variety, great ambience, soothing and nice music, fun crowd, indoor and outdoor seating, comfortable chairs. I just wish you could let people breathe and ask for bills rather than monitoring when their coffee gets over and the bill is produced immediately.
Foodie_munchkin
This is my all time favourite place. You can say it as my second home as I visit nearly twice a week. The reason my mind sticks to Mateo whenever my husband asks of going out is because of its ambience, food quality and polite staffs who keep my little doll entertained. I'm going to this place since a year and I haven't got bored of it yet. My all time favourite is white mocha shekerato and tiramisu cake. It's so yummy and the tastes the same always. The shake makes me refreshed and the desert activates my taste buds. I even love their cheese croissant and blueberry cheesecake. It's a good place for coffee lovers, couples, business people as well as families. Seating arrangements are awesome and location is also prime.

Getting a parking spot on Brigade Road is like winning a lottery 🙂 We had that stroke of luck a couple of weeks back. Obviously we were super excited and decided to spend some time around. We went strolling to Church Street to grab a bite and saw this cafe called Matteo Coffea. The place doesn’t look very big from outside, but is actually quite spacious with plenty of seating.
