Review Carrots Restaurant - Bengaluru

Srikrishna Bhat
The best vegan option in Bengaluru. I am not a vegan and for me the food here does not taste exactly as those which have milk content. But the cakes and other sweets are as close as possible to the non-vegan options. The plum cake from here was better than what I get outside.

Currently being a cloud kitchen needs a day in advance which is totally worth it, for Chef Ram customizes exactly the way you want the delicious good food.

Carrots is India's first vegan restaurant located at Koramangala, Bengaluru. Restaurant promotes organic farming, offering plant based foods. Menu comprises of dishes from across the globe, all dishes served to us was packed with flavor and tasted excellent. Ambiance has a homely vibe, I felt relaxed and enjoyed my lunch, very friendly staff. Carrots also has organic product store and they sell many products prepared in house like soya milk, red rice milk, mock meat, vegan mayo and more. Guilt free meals with no sugar, fat or excess oil. Please make sure to mention if any nut or allergy they will customize and prepare meals accordingly. I found myself carving for more vegan food after every course, truly wholesome and superb food. My three picks from the entire tasting was creamy corn soup, sloppy joe burger, Let me just tell you this is no ordinary burger. Sesame chocolate bun sandwiched with a mock meat sloppy gravy served with side of french fries and home made fluffy mayo, finally dessert whole wheat chocolate brownie was yum.

This is ethical vegan restaurant. Quality and taste are really amazing. I ordered pizza, cake and ice cream for my sister's birthday. It was super yummy. Really want to try many items from your restaurant. Thank you so much for giving amazing Vegan foods.

Carrots is one of my fav vegan restaurant in Bangalore. They offer good range of vegan dishes to choose from. We tried their special week day lunch of Rs.600, it was worth the price. We ordered the combo of soup, main course and dessert. It was a perfect start with the soup of mushroom, bell pepper minestrone soup served with whole wheat garlic bread. The 2 main dishes we had were 1. Almond Pesto Paella which tasted good but I felt the consistency was more liquid, the individual grains of rice did not stand out, wasn’t dry enough. 2. Aubergine Mushroom Platter which was presented so well we didn’t have the heart to murder it. The Very Veggie juice had good strong flavour of ginger and carrot. Unfortunately the desserts vanished too fast! Ambiance - Simple, good and clean. Service - Prompt and helpful in suggesting right dishes.

Being vegan in India , especially who loves desserts , is quite difficult. But, the food and the quality this place offers are just incredible and I'm so glad this place exists. It's heaven for vegans and people who say that this place is costly have no clue what this place represents. Also, the prices are cheaper than most vegetarian restaurants in Bangalore. Trust me, this place makes your time worth it. Do try once, and you will fall in love with the food , just like I did! 😊

This is a vegan paradise! Such amazing food! There are a lot of different delicious options and mostly very healthy also, fresh products used, not oily and beautiful presentation of the food! As a European, the prices are low to me so I was super happy to find a vegan restaurant where I could actually afford everything! I loved the Malai Kofta, the Chocolate Shake <3 and all the sweets! Do try the OCD Brownie - it is chocolate heaven on earth! Also the Black Forest Cake... Can't wait to come back to try all the other menu items! P.S. I loved Gulab Jamun when I first came to India and was sad that I couldn't eat it after I turned vegan but Carrots delighted me with their vegan version!

The best vegan restaurant in Bangalore ! Amazing food and amazing service ! I wish you had a branch in North Bangalore too. Has their black forest cake, it looked so much like non vegan black forest cake I had to ask em if it was really vegan ! The taste was delicious. The seitan pasta was perfect ! . The only complaint I have is their servings are too big for a single person ! May be they can reduce their portion sizes and the price 😜 will surely keep coming back. And get my non vegan friends do try this amazing place

A place I used to pass by every day for three years but couldn't enter because of the term 'Vegan' attached to it's brand. Finally the day came when my new year resolution of eating healthy prompted me to enter the place. impressions after entering the place: → Cozy → Earthy → Peaceful → Beautiful → Authentic The vegan restaurant made sure the theme match with interiors too. wicker furniture, plants in glass bottles, kora grass mat on certain parts of roof and brown colour here and there gives the earthy feeling. Staff: Staff is courteous and non-interfering while you enjoy your food. Food: → Soy buttermilk is the complementary welcome drink and it takes off all the myths on it's taste. I loved it. Tasted really yum. → Good varieties categorized under healthy, treat, taste etc., → milk used in food , specially in deserts like ice cream are coconut milk, Almond milk and Soy milk. → I had coffee ice cream and chocolate ice cream both tasted different yet delicious. → priced little high but I think looking at the way Vegan products are priced, the prime locality they are at I think it is okay but it is still advised to work in prices to make it affordable so that customers can walk in regularly. →But I must say, portion size is good. you feel full just after having one item like Pesto or Almond

CARROTS - Bengaluru's First Vegan Restaurant. So now what is vegan? Vegan is something that you don't consume even the animal derived form of food like Milk, curd, butter, cheese etc... They purely use plant based products. Located opp. To Eat Street of Kormangala. Ambience is nice and cute with wooden chairs and table and nice wall paintings and a book rack for the book enthusiastics. Staff are very friendly and me and my friends were curious to know more about the restaurant Owner Sushmitha was sweet enough for us to explain every details about it. Coming to the food We started of with *Soy Buttermilk - Couldn't find much difference from the normal buttermilk. *Energy Booster - blend of dates, cashews, sesame seeds with soy milk. If you are in want of some afternoon booster than this is a must try. *Crunchy Waldorf Salad - This salad uses their in house Creamy Cashews Cheese and Cashew Mayo for the dressing. The salad gives a nice and rich flavor of veggies and cashews. *Chilli Garlic Potatoes - This stole my heart. The flavors of garlic was perfect. *Almond Palomino Pasta - It's a mixed sauce Penne Pasta with their in-house cheese and sauce served with whole wheat garlic bread. Pasta was little bland could improve on flavors. *Espanol Pizza - The base of the pizza is whole wheat due to which it was little harder unlike the regular maida based pizzas. *Mini Ice cream platter - it tasted good and had 10 mini scoops of Icecreams. they are not made of milk and cream it's their in-house plant product based icecreams. Colorings are natural plant colorings. *Black Forest Pastry - the classic pastry but whole wheat pastry *Obsessive Chocolate Disorder - which was really tasty. Brownie again a whole wheat brownie with the nuts chocolate icecream and chocolate sauce. *Chocolate Cream Cake - it's a layerd cake with chocolate ganache and chocolate cream which is also gluten free. They even do customized party cakes. Ambience - 5/5 Food 4/5 Service - 5/5

Utterly delicious vegan food, creative interiors and a peaceful setting for the perfect lunch. The lovely decors on the wall that range from happy notes (from customers) to some quirky quotes "What is the best place to store milk? In the cow" Vegan humour!! Drinks - Energy booster (260/-) and Crimson Punch (220/-). Both of them were delicious and soothing. Food - Sloppy Joe Burger (it's vegan) and Carrots Special Healthy plate. The burger was priced at 380/- and the Carrot Special at 450/-. The Sloppy Joe burger is must try and I can't recommend it enough. The Carrots Special is delicious and healthy but leaves no place for dessert. Great food and polite staff makes me want to visit this place again. Also, the prices are inclusive of all taxes, so do notice the tip box tucked away near the reception and tip them !!! Meal for two would cost between 1300-1600. Rating - A huge YES !! Always :) P.S. Do check their pages on Facebook and Instagram as they keep conducting workshops.

We have ordered multiple times from carrots. The food has always been very delicious. Chef Ram is extremely responsive to our requests in making the food based on our preferences like gluten free and very less oily/spicy. The delivery of food is always on time. We also order cake for my daughter's birthday from them. It's liked by everyone at our home. The gluten free pizza we tried this time was beyond expectation. In total, they are doing great work in the industry of vegan , clean and cruelty free food. 🙂

Amazing place, a vegans paradise!!! You get a huge spread of dishes, all cruelty free! They make their own bread, Chocolate sauce etc as well. Loved their banana-peanut milk shake and chocolate brownie. There is a parking space opposite side of the road.

Bangalores 1st vegan restaurant. Six years and counting. I came to try out the vegan food for the first time and wasn't disappointed. Well if you choose to turn vegan be prepared for the slight change of taste. Well the smoothies are really good so are the jaggery brownies. Service was promt. Loved the complimentary soymilk butter milk interesting flavor. Ambience is really nice with fairy lights. You can also read a book or play games if you like.

Looking at the reviews, we were really looking forward to visit the place but it didn't quite live up to our expectations.. To begin with, the prices are at a premium so you can't really stop by the restaurant every week even if you are a vegan.. The dishes we ordered was Aloo papdi chaat, Potato desi burger, Stroganoff Pasta and Pineapple Basil Smoothie. Chaat was pretty good especially considering the fact that the papdi was baked not fried. Burger was delicious- the mint mayo accompanying it was just wow. Smoothie was alright but Stroganoff Pasta was where we ware left disappointed as the sauce was made with boiled vegetables. It was something that wasn't to our taste. Service was exemplary. So kudos to that and hence the 4 stars !
Trishala
Ordered their Mock Meat Pizza as a takeaway and was totally bowled over by it. The flavoursome sauce was perfectly spiced and seasoned, the whole wheat crust was robust and struck the perfect balance between crunchy and pliant, and the mock meat was wholly convincing in flavour and texture. The generous spread of cashew cheese was delightfully soft and tangy and added the perfect richness to bring the dish together. Really relished it! Looking forward to ordering from them again, and trying some of their other food as well!

Lovely food and prompt delivery.. Ordered two birthday cakes in span of few days and both the times it was amazing... Would highly recommend.

Highly energetic folks and amazing ambiance. Chef Ram is awesome too and brings a huge repertoire of culinary delicacies to the vegan palette. If you're new to veganism and thought vegan recipes are bland, boy-oh-boy, will you be proven wrong (in a positive way). I'd say, just keep an open mind, visit the place and try out their dishes and soon enough you'll realize that a plant-based diet covers all your nutritional bases and is even better (dare I say) than your SAD diet or Indian Non-veg diet. No transfats, cholesterol, gluten or white/refined sugars in their dishes and non-GMO stuff. Keep up the awesomeness, Carrots. :)

Carrots- The Pioneer in Vegan Food joints in India . Mecca of its kind for so many of us . A melting pot of different ideas targetted towards the common goal of saving nonhuman animals ...these ideas being exchanged there over some amazing vegan grub !! That is how I view Carrots as ....a landmark in the setting of vegan contemporary scene in India .

After looking at the menu online a couple of times I was really glad to finally being able to visit Carrots. Had lovely food for lunch. I really recommend the green paella and the Burboun-cookie-shake - not to say the least: the amazing tiramisu! Went back the same day for dinner too and tasted a pasta Bolognese that was terrific and I very much enjoyed the BBQ sandwich too. Lots of yummy awesomeness! Fast and friendly service, cozy place and a great concept makes this place worth returning to soon again! Thanks! :)

Carrots is a unique restaurant. First of all, the way they veganize all of the non-vegan stuff is pretty amazing. The constant innovation that they do to their dishes is something which is quite unique. I really like the concept of H1, H2 & H3 labelling of all of their food items, as this makes the consumer aware of what they're eating. They have range of desserts from raw vegan dishes like chocolate mousse, raw fruits custard to highly processed (:-P) and absolutely delicious stuff like tiramisu, pastries, cakes etc.! You can also pickup their amazing cookies off the shelf, which are priced very reasonably. Do take your containers if you want to avoid plastic :)

One of the best vegan restaurants I have been besides the fantastic food and the lovely service, there is enough room to get inspired by veganism. You get a guide for making the transition to the vegan lifestyle from the Samabhava NGO, little magazines from livingfree fiapo... try a vegan restaurant and get some vegan deliciousness
Adity Vats
Not just the food but the whole concept...and the dedication of the team...towards compassion towards animal is commendable... Perfect combination of health with taste....we are a regular customer from its very first year......Guilt free indulgence..Hats off to them... Keep up your good work...

The people there make you feel right home at Carrots <3 They are always kind and loving towards all, both humans and non-humans, that's the best thing about them <3 #vegan #crueltyfree #compassionate #delicious

It's above excellent! I give it 6 stars. Great service. The gentleman comes by to check on you and if your meals are up to standard. The restaurant is clean and comfy with unique decor and nice motivational phrases on the walls. There's cruelty-free products to get as well.

Ordered a chocolate ganache cake from carrots and it was heavenly. I was in doubt before ordering but I'm soo glad I tried it. Here on, CARROTS is my go to dessert place. Can't wait to try their savoury food soon! Also they have an amazing customer service team.

A place that exuberates love, welcomes like home & when it's home, no doubt that the food served nourishes the body, & doesn't just end in satisfying the mere tongue! Beautiful people serving love & not just food!

Coming up with the concept of the vegan restaurant is really great. I took my Vegan friend 😀 for a treat here and I have certainly taken his feedback before writing this review-
1. Location: Near Sony Signal, Koramangala. Proper parking space not available. It doesn’t look really appealing from outside.

2. Ambiance: Small place and certainly it can’t cater to a huge crowd. They have tried hard to share knowledge regarding the importance of Being Vegan. I will give it 4/5.

3. Cost: It isn’t pocket-friendly. For most of the items, you need to pay more than 400₹.

4. Taste: To be honest both me and my friend were disappointed. We understand it’s not possible to recreate all vegetarian dishes into vegan but the taste does matter. Miller burrito looks very disappointing right from its appearance and the taste resonates with the appearance. The ice cream wasn’t cold enough.

Note: I appreciate the concept of Vegan restaurant but definitely certain changes are required in order to make the taste buds happy.

We have been meaning to go to Carrots for a long time. And we finally made a visit last weekend. We had booked a table and glad we did it. The place is small, and was quite packed. Coming to food, they served us complimentary coconut buttermilk which was quite nice. We ordered veg paella and mushroom stronganoff. Both were decent, and tasted fresh. Definitely not a bad option for vegans and anyone who wants to try something new.

Carrots has an extensive vegan friendly menu that can give anyone struggling with giving up meat a helping hand. There were so many dishes that were simply unique especially the fusion ones like mashed potato pie and mushroom stroganoff. Another initiative I absolutely loved was their 'guess the ingredients' game. It came with our peanut butter shake order. A note saying, "Guess the 12 ingredients in your shake". It made me taste my shake mindfully, savouring every sip, something I am easy to forget. The plate of falafel hummus was delicious and so so filling that the Waldorf salad order felt like an 'over-order'. Last, we were offered complimentary soy buttermilk and coconut cookie. Delights that make a humble establishment like this one that much more loved.
The one thing that left me a little confused. Animals aren't allowed in this animal loving place.

Been following Carrots on Instagram for a while, being a vegan enthusiast myself. The other day I saw this post where they shared a picture of their vegan pizza, with cheese that couldn't be said to be vegan if not told. I had to had to try it. Found the earliest opportunity to go visit Carrots, luckily on the New Year's Day.

My oh my, best pizza that I can think of, till date. Simply put, loved it. In further details, oozing cheese that puts pizzas from big brands to shame. Who would say that its vegan! And you know the best part? It's vegan! Highly recommended by a cheese lover.

Also has their Detox Juice, Pesto Grilled Tofu and Mushroom Stroganoff. All prefect!! Can't wait to try other menu items as well.

A must visit for vegan food, delicious food, warm host, good services. They have huge variety of vegan food. My go to place for all things vegans. Do try their weekend special

Being vegan in India , especially who loves desserts , is quite difficult. But, the food and the quality this place offers are just incredible. The best place for milk is inside a cow. This was one of the messages I saw on stuck to the wall. They offer good range of vegan dishes to choose from. The soup of mushroom, bell pepper minestrone soup served with whole wheat garlic bread was really good. Chaat was pretty good especially considering the fact that the papdi was baked not fried.

Not just Bangalore, but India’s first ever completely vegan restaurant. Had been here way back on 2016 and 2017 a couple of times, but I wasn’t vegan back then.

This place is very close to my heart. Recently attended a workshop here with the Owner and the Head Chef. The owner/Chef is the nicest, most positive person you will ever meet.

Coming to the restaurant, its not too big, the set up and interiors are very very basic, but the Menu, oh dear Lord! You cannot tell by looking at the items on their menu that these can be vegan. Such a vast array of options, categorized as H1, H2, and H3 depending on the degree of health and indulgence/taste.
They also have a huge range of gluten-free options.

The staff is very polite, friendly, helpful with the menu, and prompt. They always serve a complimentary buttermilk made with soy curd – which is delish.

Coming to what we ordered –

1. Very Veggies Juice (very refreshing)

2. Crimson Punch (very refreshing and tasty)

3. Pesto grilled Tofu (Pretty amazing)

4. Chef’s special mockmeat curry (A little 'too good to be true')

5. Masala Chapathi (amaze)

6. Gulab Jamoon (a little too much on the sweeter side for me, but yumm, and you couldn’t tell that it is any different from a regular Gulab Jamun)

During my previous visits, I’ve also tried their Kaffir Lime, Almond Pesto Paella, Carrots Special Healthy Plate, Palak Tofu, Sugar Free Chocolate Ice Cream – all of which is highly nutritional and super tasty.

Have also tried their vegan chocobars during their chocobar fest earlier this month. One mustn’t miss this, like ever!

This place is going to be my go-to for anytime I get the opportunity to pick the place for a meal out :D

Highly recommend for vegans, and even non-vegans who want to know what the fuss is all about.

Not sure if bakery items/desserts are 100% vegan/ gluten free.

This place has been on my list for some time due to it's innovative combos and vegan food. Not as expected. The ambiance is really dull and low. It doesn't look hygenic. The taste is also really average. Not recommended

I ordered the curd rice and chocolate brownie. Absolutely loved it! The seasoning in the curd rice was was bang on (with quite a long of crunchy veggies) and the portion size justified the price. They even sent a surprise spicy mayo taster which was also good. Highly recommend.

I wanted to try vegan food from a very long time. Came across this place and thought of trying it. The ambience is not that great but the food taste is perfect. They gave us complimentary buttermilk on arrival. We ordered mocha latte with soy milk. Dinner had ordered veg paella and roasted veg wrap. Initially thought it is very expensive but they were quite generous with the portion size of the food. In the end they gave complimentary coffee ice cream which was ok as I'm not coffee flavour fan. Don't mind visiting again to try other dishes.
Rishira Achaiah
This is a review of the food only the food , not the ambience , not the convenience of procuring vegan food. Vegan food doesn't have to be bad. But carrots made it bad. I have got the coconut icecream , aioli pasta , clear tangy lemon soup , roasted veggies wrap, garlic mayo.
The food is bland, not creamy , not fresh.
It's just I know how vegan food tastes and this place just ruined it for me.
The vegetables are chunky in dishes where the vegetables are not supposed to be chunky. The soup is just vegetable broth with veges, I can pressure cooker that not worth 220 INR, the pasta is just boiled pasta chunky tomato , no sauce , wrap is a much better option. Coconut icecream should be renamed coconut yoghurt.

Tasty vegan food with a variety of plant based dairy alternatives to choose from. Food can be dense and filling, have to be careful before ordering with all the excitement :)

Last weak I went here with my family... The place was very nice there sitting arrangements was very nice. Let's talk about food, the food which was we ordered it was amazing. Service was also fast......

We finally visited this amazing vegan restaurant which is located in Kormangala. Its the 1st vegan restaurant in Bengaluru. Carrots are also listed on Peta India website.
Their food menu has so many delicious & creative vegan options, we were so surprised! What's more surprising is my husband loving their vegan pasta (he is not a vegan (yet))! :)
They also sell healthy cookies, crackers & more.
Not to forget, they keep fresh food for the needy outside their restaurant in a fridge.
What we ate :
- Garlic cream Pasta (Must try)
- Espanol Pizza - Choc Brownie (Must try )
- Chilli Garlic potato - Buttermilk ( complementary drink)
( also try their Donuts )

Nice ambience.Quiet place. City's first vegan restaurant. Bit expensive but worth it. Jaggery cookies recommended. Garlic Pasta was also very delicious.

Visited carrots last week and it was a terrible experience. The ambience was dingy with absolutely no ventilation. We ordered the papdi chaat which was watery and had excess green chutney, the papdi was literally floating on the green chutney. The aloo corn tikki was okay (which is why the one star) .The garlic sauce pasta was extremely bland.

One of my favourite places. The whole reason I checked out this place was because I was lactose intolerant. Boy, am I glad I did! Their soy milk tea and soy buttermilk is to die for. Love it! We had a lot of stuff in their menu, and I have to say, everything was SO GOOD! The staff and the owner is very sweet.
Bhargavi Murali
Food was very bland and absolutely tasteless. Will never come to this place. Very disappointed. We order pasta which was unbearable.
However that hospitality was good.
That is their only saving grace that they have good staff.
Sushmitha Aithal
If you are a vegan or you love vegan food, then it's the right place. I loved garlic sauce pasta and dates&sesame seeds smoothie (I forgot the exact name😅).. They don't use any animal products in their food and it's the best thing and speciality of this place. Staff is very friendly. Overall, loved the food and place!
VRMiranda
Went for dinner not really expecting much as no one really does much with vegan food except saute some veggies and throw lettuce leaves together. But i must say, this was perfection from start to end. And i say this as a meat eater who loves her steaks.

We had a salad (one is enough for two ppl), two mains, two juices and a dessert. The flavours were bang on. Quantities were just right. And the juices were really really good. I probably should’ve tried one of the chocolate desserts i saw at other tables instead of the icecream, but no complaints really. It was good. I’m just used to the flavour of milk icecream i suppose.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Service is impeccable.
I will definitely revisit.
If i HAVE to give a negative: maybe the cost is a teensy bit high.

It's the first vegan restaurant i had been to.. And it was conviniently pleasant. The food options ans ambience were ok. Must go for bangalorians looking for vegan outside food.

Carrots is a vegan restaurant, first of its kind in Bangalore. Located on a busy street in Kormangala, its a welcome change from the usual vegetarian grubs. This restaurant follows vegan-ism to the core , I was welcomed with a chilled glass of soy buttermilk. The tea served here is made of coconut milk and the mozzarella cheese on pizza is churned out of cashew milk! The menu is a vast 29 page booklet with a mix of Italian, continental, Indian varieties and a lot of fusion food too.

I was fortunate to train under Chef Ram to bake Vegan Pizzas and calzone in Carrots Kitchen .Chef Ram and Chef Sushmita were extremely friendly and patient during the entire session.

Detailed review and photos shared on my blog Megna's Gourmet

Avant Garde food. I just loved their mock meat curry. Indulgence in their food seems so healthy. Chocolate ice cream was great. Malai Kofta was great.

Carrots i discovered when i was in workshop by Darryl DSouza wherein Carrots was the Food vendor . I loved the food . So one day i hopped on to their restaurant in Kormangala and relished the lovely food which was tasting 100% natural and Organic . loved their raw ambience and the books as well

Being a vegan, Carrots is always in my wish list for the last few years. The day had finally come when I made a trip to Bangalore for few days. Visited this place for lunch and ordered their signature raw fettuccini and white penne pasta. We were given a complimentary soy butter milk and it tasted ok.

Ordered Gulab Jamun while waiting for our dishes and it was also very good. After some 15-20 min, our order was served and I must say that I relished both of the pastas.

I really wanted to taste as much as I can during my stay here and after waiting an hour or so after having the main dish, ordered for a vegan chai and jowaar cookie made with jaggery. I must say that jowaar jaggery cookie was the highlight of the day.

Overall a wonderful experience.

The first vegan restaurant in Bangalore, just love it. Food is clean and tasty. Recommend the zucchini pasta and smoothie, so so yummy. The staff are also very friendly to answer your questions. Will come back again.

The best place in all of India for vegan food with a warm and welcoming atmosphere which makes you feel right at home. The food they have to offer is absolutely wonderful, and breaks the myth that vegan food can’t taste just as good. They also offer cooking and baking workshops which are well structured, easy to understand, detailed and of course offered by the lovely Sushmitha ma’am.
Nishitha Gokulapati
Vegan at first may not appease many non vegetarians but the food here is worth the shift.
The juices, main course, and deserts are really filling and good.
Mainly it’s versatile menu helps any kind of foodie.
The ambience is also very cozy.

Tasty, fresh food which made us happy. I never eat pizzas and pasta because of cheese in them. I neither am a fan of milk based dishes. So this was the perfect place to enjoy all those foods. Right from the complementary buttermilk made out of soya to soup salad main course and dessert brought smile on our face. Never felt heavy even after eating so much. Lastly got a chocolate dessert as takeaway in lucky draw.💕Courteous staff, great food.Thank you. Wish they start this in benglur north. Negatives if I must say is parking, and heavy traffic noise. They can just shut the windows to avoid this.
Ashish Ashok
Thanks for showing me that vegan food can taste awesome! Loves everything about this place
Kshama Kottachery
This was my first time eating vegan food and I must say I wasn't at all disappointed. At first, we were served complimentary soy buttermilk which was refreshing. We ordered Kurkuri Bhindi Chat which was sweet and the bhindi was crispy. Loved the idea of it. Then came mashed potato pie which was a little sweet since there was a layer of carrot in between but pretty decent. Creamy garlic pasta was okayish. We order Obsessive Chocolative Disorder which was yummy. They used dark chocolates for this. The service was quick and lovely ambience too.
Sumit Chatterjee
I had huge expectations from this place, because it's India's first Vegan restaurant (Apparently). Plus I'm allergic to milk products. I went with my friends and had the pasta and some burgers. While the burgers were decent I felt the food was bland taste. Then we tried the deserts, the main attraction. It was okay. The chocolate bar ice cream was too sweet for anyone's liking, maybe because of the jaggery but still it was way too much sweet. And the cake was not at all fresh. It was tough and didn't taste good.

I expected a lot because when you put lots of innovative thoughts on to some place it better be backed with good food.

This was my first time for a vegan restaurant and I was delighted to have tried it. This was definitely an experiment. I can't be a fan of vegan but the way food is prepared & served at this restaurant is commendable. Anyone who is vegan should definitely try this place. The people are warm and would suggest you the dishes if you are new.

To start with its a VEGAN restaurant , with a lot and loads of hard work put in by the founders and co founders for making this place TRULY VEGAN
.
Me personally being a vegetarian was carefree to taste or have anything that's served here as it's purely indirectly veg as well
.
Coming to what I ate and drank
Welcome drink:
Butter milk - this was made of Soy milk and did have a tinge of butter milk taste in it without butter or any dairy products
.
Energy booster - Loved this one as I could taste and eat the dry fruits in it as well like cashews , dates and sesame seeds
.
STARTERS
Salads : This had In-house Made Mayo for dressing with pineapple and veggies with bread croutons (This was pretty hard-can be made soft)
.
Chill Garlic potato : I finished this in a jiffy as the spices were on point
.
Pasta and pizza was served for main course well this was not some thing I personally liked as it was not satisfying my taste buds so will not generalise how it was
.
DESSERTS
OBSESSIVE CHOCOLATIVE DISORDER: With a scoop of chocolate ice cream and lot of chocolate sauce around the brownie this is some good food for chocolate lovers
.
Mini ice cream platter :This had many new flavours of ice cream that I had not tasted before and I did really love Pomogrante and Orange scoops among the 10 of them
.
Tiramisu :This ice cream can be made with a little more layers in them

I had a lovely time with chef ram at carrots for a gluten-free baking class. Such an amazing experience, lovely atmosphere, a lot of fun & such a great learning. Thank you Chef Susmitha & Chef Ram for organising this class. I highly recommend carrots. I will definitely be going back for more classes and dining experiences! ❤️
Being the FIRST VEGAN restaurant in Bangalore, this was one place NOT TO MISS! It serves Gluten Free, Dairy Free food with healthier substitutes.
P.S : You can also tell about your allergies with certain food and the chef would customise the meal as per your taste!

Location : Located on the busiest street on Kormangala, parking is bit of a hassle. There's a street next to it for parking 2 wheelers. And the entrance is not on the main road but from the side road.

Ambiance : Restaurant being on the first floor, is a warm cozy place with a homely feel!

IMPORTANT : The restaurant staff has a Meal for 4 which gets prepared every single day and is kept out on the refrigerator so anyone can have the food for free! So basically, everyday they have a certain timing fixed ( around 12pm - 2pm ) they make sure they place this meal outside the cafe, and anyone can gorge on it for free! I think this is such a good initiative by the cafe, and if you're interested to donate, you can talk to the host / staff and be a part of it! ♥️

What we had :

Energy Booster : This one had a little too much of sesame seeds according to me but it was a good drink.

Butter milk : Standard butter milk ( Almond milk ) with finely chopped Onion!

Crunchy Waldorf Salad : Pineapples, In-home friend bread croutons with Cashew cheese and mayo. The texture was different and good.

Chilli Garlic Potato : This was an absolute favorite *Recommended*

Almond Palomino Sauce pasta : Penne pasta tossed in white and red sauce.

Espanol Pizza : Primavera Sauce, Tofu, Caramelized Onions with Herbed Cheese. Make sure you eat it quick because the base would harden.

Chocolate cream cake and Black Forest Cake : The cakes were fluffy and GOOOOD!

Tiramisu : not a layered tiramisu but had a strong coffee flavor which I didn't really like. Not that great.

Obsessive Chocolate Disorder ( OCD ) : This is the best seller and an all time favorite! With the chocolate brownie with chocolate ice cream on top, this was so delicious! *Recommended*

Mini ice cream platter : This had such amazing set of ice cream, few were fresh orange, Pomegranate, Coconut, Chocolate and Mint ice cream scoops which was the cherry on top of our dining experience! ♥️ Couldn't believe it was all dairy free ! *Recommended*

Overall it's a treat for vegans and it was seen that this restaurant is striving hard to get veganism up on going!

They also bake & cater customised cakes / pastries of your choice with no fondant but everything with dairy free cream! Also, they have their own YouTube videos with receipes for vegans in both English and Kannada languages :)

Coming to the food

We started of with

*Soy Buttermilk - Couldn't find much difference from the normal buttermilk.

*Black Forest Pastry - the classic pastry but whole wheat pastry
*Obsessive Chocolate Disorder - which was really tasty. Brownie again a whole wheat brownie with the nuts chocolate icecream and chocolate sauce.
*Chocolate Cream Cake - it's a layerd cake with chocolate ganache and chocolate cream which is also gluten free.

They even do customized party cakes.

Ambience - 5/5
Food 4/5
Service - 5/5

This place is located just on the main road. Ambience is quite cosy, with cute wall paintings. Also this restaurant has won the users choice award by zomato. The restaurant serves a lot of vegan and healthy dishes. i was totally amazed by the concept.

Moving on to the dishes i tried, firstly the buttermilk made of soy milk was really good, dairy free products and very nutritious. Next i tried the ENERGY BOOSTER SHAKE, it was a blend of dates, cashew, sesame seeds with soy milk.

For salads, i tried the CRUNCHY WALDORF SALAD, this salad consisted of pineapple, mushrooms, fried bread croutons and veggies in a creamy cashew cheese and cashew mayo dressing.

And one more thing to be noticed is every thing is made in house, whether it is the breads or the sauces and mayos.
They even have an own youtube channel where they teach you how to cook vegan dishes. And even organises workshop. Have you heard about the good karma meal? Carrots restaurant give free meals to anyone who is in need of. One meal costs around 90/- even you can contribute for it.

Next was the CHILLI GARLIC POTATO GF , it had a perfect blend of garlic and sweet and spicy sauce. ALMOND PALOMINO SAUCE PASTA had a sauce made with almonds, this could be improvised. ESPANOL PIZZA is a whole new version of pizzas, it had a wheat bread crust with no fatty cheese but something more healthier tofu along with spinach , caramelized onions etc.

For desserts, I tried the OBSESSIVE CHOCOLATIVE DISORDER, it had chocolate sauce in the bottom on top was a chocolate brownie made with whole wheat topped with chocolate ice cream.

Next was the CHOCOLATE CREAM CAKE GF, this chocolate cake is gluten free and layered with chocolate cream and ganache.

The last but not the least was the MINI ICE CREAM PLATTER, it had 2 mini scoops each of bourbon, coffee, orange, pomegranate and roasted nut chocolate ice cream. The flavours of these ice creams keeps changing depending on the season. The ice creams are made with soy milk.

The service was good too. Would surely recommend to all health conscious people out there.

Taste ; 3.5/5

Ambience : 3.5/5

Service : 4/5

Value for money : 4/5

I went there recently for dinner, had Bombaat mock meat wrap, Gobi Manchurian, soy buttermilk, pizza, gulab jamun, black forest pastry and Roasted nuts - chocolate. All the dishes were delicious.

Nice place for vegan food. And a stress free eating for those with lactose intolerance.
But for people with issue with Wheat or gluten intolerance, options are there but better to ask for assistance. They are happy to help.

“Carrots, Bangalore’s first vegan restaurant, is not just about only food. It is about the philosophy of Veganism ,environment friendly lifestyle that is good for health ”. My inquisitiveness about vegan food had grown leaps and bounds over the years and my quest took me to the heart of the Koramangla where city’s first vegan propagating place , Carrots was born.

I am pleased to write about my experience of the Pizza Baking workshop with Carrots Vegan Restaurant.Chef Ram taught me everything from making the dough to preparing different varieties of sauces, cheese and baking Pizza to perfection.

The hosts were also courteous enough to accomodate my request to teach me baking Calzone.

Overall it was a fun and learning experience to bake 3 varieties of Yummy Pizza. The Vegan way of making Pizaa seemed easy and interesting.

Thanks to Chef Ram. I recommend this Workshop to everybody that wants to make their Pizza from scratch.

"I can’t think of anything better in the world to be but a vegan.” - Alicia Silverstone
Being a vegan, according to me is a brave & a kind decision, where one takes responsibility of their choices & actions. Veganism isn't a trend or a diet fad rather it's an emotional experience. It's great to see, vegan options available widely today and it's a pleasure to know how delicious they are.
About Carrots :
Carrots, was one of the pioneers of vegan dining experiences in Bangalore. When it started, it had subconsciously started a trend of diverting people towards a more holistic way of living. While, non vegans were made to understand what being vegan really meant, the vegans had a safe haven to lose themselves in.
Carrots was one of the first vegan restaurants in India, which not only had a full fledged vegan menu but also encouraged staff to try veganism by providing them with vegan meals. This, is one of those places in Namma bengaluru that you must try whether you are a vegan or not.
Decor & Ambiance:
The decor, is very humble and like the concept of the restaurant is kept very simple. The ambiance on the other hand, is highly relaxing with soft instrumental music playing in the background. The place has charms & almost resembles a quaint shack.
The Grub Story:
I'm a vegetarian and i really wouldn't mind being vegan for sometime but the only thing stopping me is, the lack of skill whilst preparing a vegan meal. Here is what i relished and was quite dumbfounded that this was vegan :
Chatpata sprouts Salad : A beautiful and mellow salad of sprouts, with Indian flavours.
Millet Croquettes : Delicious mix of millets, mashed potatoes & beans in a simple mix of spices and crumb fried.
Chilli MockMeat Tofu : This was the star of the evening, the flavours were bang on and having converted from being a non vegetarian to a vegetarian, this mock meat instantly reminded me of meat, albeit in a very nice way. The melange of Tofu and seitan strips coated in tomato sauce was just phenomenal.
Mighty Buddha Bowl : A dish, that beats any Buddha bowl. This is a signature dish, by Chef Susmita who has as we all know been a pioneer of vegan eating. The flavours of the peanut sauce and tofu on a bed of rice was something you must not miss.
Black Forest Pastry : Made with vegan cream, you really could go ahead and order another one just because it was so good.

Vegan Ice Cream : Oh my Goodness!! This is something that you must not miss if you’re here. The vegan icecream range is just so smooth, delicious & flavourful, that you wonder if this really has no milk at all. The scoops are melt in the mouth & the best part is they don’t melt the way, your traditional ice cream melts, so they are a great idea for takeaways. My favourite was chocolate & mango vegan ice cream.

Energy booster : Made with soy milk, cashew, sesame seeds and dates for natural sweetness, this drink was highly delicious. Sorry milk, I didn't miss you at all.
Soy Buttermilk : The drink had a very smooth and palate pleasing texture and aroma. The little gritty texture had me over the moon.

Verdict : This is a must visit for all vegans and non vegans alike. The place has menu curated by Chef Susmita of the "Veganosaurus" fame. She has always been advocating clean vegan eating and explains the little details with such happiness that it's just a delight to dine in here.

First pure vegan restaurant I visited. Cute little place tucked away amidst dense Koramangala. Menu offers a wide range of options. Food was surprisingly good. Not a place for people who don't like experimenting with their food options.

Went to Carrots with family 2 days back to try Vegan food.. Good ambience. Pretty good food I'd say.. We ordered all dishes 1 quantity to taste. The soy curd rice did taste like curd rice! Loved the OCD (Obsessive Chocolate Disorder) and Tiramisu. You should go just got that.! An extra start only for that..

Carrots Restaurant – Located at 1 Floor, 80 Feet Rd, 6th Block, Koramangala, Bangalore.

The India’s First or Bangalore’s First Vegan Restaurant

What is Difference between Vegan and Vegetarian?

The main difference between in Vegan and vegetarian are regarding the use of animal’s products by human being. In terms of Vegan do not take animal-derived products like milk, butter, curd etc while Vegetarian consume.

In terms of Nutrients and Proteins, they both consume similar levels.

A vegan diet is far better than a vegetarian for controlling weight, fat and reducing the risk of many diseases.

Ambience:
A very nice, cute, positive place located opposite to Eat Street Koramangala. The sitting arrangement also well with the wooden tables and chairs. As discussed with the owner Susmitha Veganosaurus it’s not very tough task to be Vegan, As a Vegetarian its take only one step to be Vegan. Inside the restaurant wonderful wall painting with all signs of positivity. And almost all products are Vegan only. Or I must say the best store of Organic products.

Food:
I had Mock Meat, it’s a Vegan form of Meat it feels like you are having Meat but actually it’s not. Apart from that I had Chatpata Sprouts Salad it’s like what we had in Breakfast it’s tasty too.
Pasta also quite good made with Vegan products served with the Brown bread which is In house made and purely Vegan.

Now time to Desserts which I tried,
Black forest cake which was delicious and well and Scoop of natural flavour ice cream which was again yumilicious and very tasty, feels like having yoghurt and purely Vegans.

Service and Staff:
Service and ambience lived up to my expectation.
Staffs are friendly and helpful with quick service.
Pricing also well according to Vegan.
Big cheers to Carrots team, staff's and management.

“Go Vegan” :)

The food here is delicious and fulfilling. The chocolate brownie with hot chocolate is rich and tasty. Absolutely heavenly. I enjoyed the pasta too. I liked it better than the conventional pasta. The pizza is good also but the sweet flavor of the crust and sauce was overpowered by the vegetable toppings, just a bit. The orange ice cream is refreshing. However, the texture is a little more creamy than I like but that did not affect the taste. Everything that is served is sufficient in quantity. It is worth the price.

The service is quick and courteous and is very different from any other place that I've been to. The service is very receptive and pleasant. I would go to the restaurant for the service alone. The complimentary drinks and snacks is generous and impressive. The ambiance is warm and cozy. I will definitely return to the restaurant.

A cute little restaurant in Koramangla 6th block, right opposite to eat street.
The place is strictly Vegan and 99 percent of the stuff is in-house. I got to meet Susmitha aka Veganosaurus who told us the journey of the Restaurant and how it has inspired people to turn Vegan as well as helped people know more about the concept and spread awareness, They do workshops as well!

The hearty meal that I had included - Chatpata Sprouts salad (I loved it!), Very tangy and nice. The Buddha bowl which is Susmitha's own recipe was quite nice and filling too. The pasta wasn't great but not bad considering there were no dairy products used for the preparation of the Sauce.
The croquettes were really good and the dip served with them was yummy!

Must have here is the ice cream - they add no flavors, hence the icecream is not that watery, nor does it look very colorful but it tastes sooooo good, I'm totally going to order it and have it. Very reasonable - 30 bucks only for a scoop.

This was a filling meal with no guilt!
Love the concept, would love to attend a workshop!

Love
Vedshree (@littlefoodiegirl)

I have been a vegan for 2+ years and I had high hopes for this one. Went there twice. I was disappointed both times by the food. All items taste more or less the same. I didn't dare order dessert on my second visit. The reason why this restaurant has such rave reviews is because it's the only vegan restaurant, and vegans are so overwhelmed by its existence that they simply don't care about the taste.

I didn't dig the ambience of the place because they were playing religious kirtan/chants and the place was filled with posters and journals about animal rights activism, which gave me a strong feeling that these guys are really confused about whether they want to concentrate on dishing out great food, or do activism. The ambience somehow gives a very wrong vibe about the concept of veganism for sure.

The sad part is, the people who are most likely to go vegan are the young liberal atheist kind. The ambience and food will never appeal to that kind. If I had walked into this restaurant in my carnivorous days, I would have walked out with a lifelong opinion that vegans are a crazy creepy cult of people.

A quaint little cozy place, ideal for a quiet Saturday date night. The menu looks very pleasing, definitely one of the best vegan menus I’ve encountered so far. The food looks amazing and is presented beautifully, but it definitely isn’t something that will blow your mind. But rest assured that every dish stays true to what it’s described as on the menu, and the staff voluntarily give you suggestions and notes on everything you order or want to.

Ambience - 3/5
Food - 3/5
Pricing - 4/5
Service - 4/5
Variety - 3/5

Nice place and I loved the interior which was bohemian style inspired. Food was okay. I liked the chilli potato. Its an average restaurant to hang out.

Food is amazing, staff are very courteous and overall the experience was really good. It is hard to find restaurants that have options for lactose intolerant and vegan people and this restaurant offers an array of options!

I have been a vegan for 4 years now, and this place is a blessing. Such a wide variety of absolutely delicious dishes to choose from, and amazing service. So grateful to Carrots for spreading the message of compassion and for showcasing how delicious vegan food can be. Thank you!

Carrots is an amazing place for vegans and non vegans alike. But it is God send for people like me who is allergic to dairy and eggs and animal protein and my friend who has type 1 diabetes. We both went vegan couple of months back and we thoroughly enjoyed the food at carrots. Food that we normally wouldn’t be able to eat like desserts and icecreams. Bless all the people behind carrots for the soul satisfying food and wonderful service. Compliments to the team for such a extensive, creative and fun menu. Special thanks to Sushmita for patiently answering our never ending vegan queries.
We had a amazing operation dessert storm and we will attack again and again...

Its my first ever visit to a ‘vegan only’ restaurant and I was definitely not disappointed. Have heard a lot about Carrots from my vegan friends who can’t stop praising it, now I know why. The food was surprisingly delicious. We tried their Thai salad, the sauce was brilliant. In the mains tried the Buddha Bowl and a Veg wrap. Both of which were very well made. The Buddha bowl had just the perfect sweet and spicy sauce, the ingredient which stood out for me was the grilled tofu. it was the hero of the dish, packed with flavour.
Kudos to the chef and the owners for carrying out this concept of vegan food so well. The food is brilliant and one wouldn’t miss non-veg or non vegan food. The service was also very efficient and friendly. My only complaint would be the ambience. It is a very basic no frills place. They don’t have air cons but have enough fans so not too bad. The place however seems reasonably clean. Maybe ordering-in would not be a bad idea.
Lastly in terms of pricing, very reasonable. Our entire bill was around ₹1400 (1 salad, drink, 2 mains and deserts). Oh and yes we won a cookie free to top it all. A good find and must visit if you are in the mood to try something different apart from the run of the mill restaurants.
Rohit Pradeep
One of the best vegan restaurants in Bangalore.

A boon for vegan foodies.

They support animal rights activists by handing out reward cards for taking part in veganism awareness outreaches.

Thank you, Carrots.

I wanna say simply awesome
Felt very relaxed here.... Waiters are friendly and owner of the restaurant is humble and helpful
As I am a hard core non vegetarian but I loved the veg dishes here
Totally healthy and delicious food
Varieties of dishes available
Carrots is India's first vegan restaurant. They promote organic farming, offering plant based foods.

Dishes I got to taste:

Soy Buttermilk

Carrots Oats Smoothie

Creamy Corn and Cilantro Soup with House Made Whole Wheat Garlic Bread

Chilli Garlic Potato

Thai Peanut Salad

Aubergine Mushroom Platter

Sloppy Joe Burger

Obsessive Chocolative Disorder - Whole Wheat Chocolate Brownie, Coconut Chocolate Ice Cream, Dark Chocolate Sauce & Nuts

I was pleasantly surprised to find a vegan restaurant in Bangalore. The food was very good. You won't feel like you are having vegan food for most part. Also the menu is amazing. Only suggestion is to include vegan lasagne.

Scrumptious food, lovely ambience and of course, it's a vegan paradise. I surely can and would recommend Carrots to everyone in my circle. Being bangalore's 1st vegan restaurant, I believe carrots has been inspirational to many entrepreneurs out there to invest on plant based diet. Thank you, Carrots. 🙂

The one restaurant where we do not have to check if an item is safe to eat! This is one of our favourite restaurants in Bangalore. :) The go to restaurant for all vegans.

Amazing vegan restaurant! Their food is so good, I’ve had their vegan pizza, their tofu mockmeat wrap, their ice cream, their donut etc etc etc and they’re all amazing. Their vegan lassi is also spot on. The staff are amazing too, extremely friendly. Love the place ♥️

Vegan food and me.. Oh well lets give it a try.. And thank god i did.

I'm mostly in a strick meat diet so when a colleague took me here I was a but sceptic.

But their refreshing water, to their burritos (wow for the portion), everything was fresh, vegan and did i mention delicious?

A must try for non vegans.. N vegans alike.

We love carrots. We had been here multiple times but missed writing a review - it’s long due!

Although we are not Vegan, we love this place. It’s our default eat place on most days we decide to eat out. The food is tasty and it’s also healthier when compared to other eat out places.

Love the vegan ice creams (coffee and chocolate being our favourite) and that’s what got us going to this place so often initially. Slowly we started enjoying other items on the menu too. Falafel wrap, Garlic cream pasta is our regular order which we absolutely love. Very friendly staff and they are always open to slight changes or customisation of the order.

Sumeet
It is an ultimate answer to all prayers of vegan lifestyle. The food is made fresh, tasty and as per custom fit for each. I love their tahini pizza, gluten free breads, their pasta, salads and a lot more.
Highly recommend for a nice meal when in Koramangla.
Ritwick Hota
The food was alright, but not great for the price on it at all.

I'm happy to see a purely vegan restaurant. The menu has many interesting options, but a bit overpriced. Also, would like to see more options on the dessert menu.

Cheers to vegan food and the variety offered here. It was a first time vegan experience and boy was it good. We ordered aloo corn tikki, chilli garlic potatoes, soy buttermilk, garlic cream pasta, Español pizza, malai kofta, jeera rice, obsessive Chocolative Disorder and tiramisu ice cream. Couldn't really get used to the pizza but everything else was great. Coming back for more with more people for sure. The service was wonderful and great courteous waiters.

Dinner at Carrots with Amit Udani and Dolly Vora

I wished to check this resturant from a long time and I was not disappointed with the quality of the food they serve. It’s a vegan Resturant but it’s not an whole plant based food. As they use oil, refined sugar and so on.

The resturant also has one drawback is the lighting is very dull.i enjoy my food with proper lighting.
We started with Starters and ended with desert.
The resturant served us Soya buttermilk as complimentary. It was extra ordinary.

Starters
Falafel with humus
Baked Papdi Aloo Chaat
Potato stir fry

Main course
Mighty Buddha bowl
Almond Pesto Paella Rice
Malai Kofta with Masala Chapati
Roasted veg wrap

Deserts
Coconut milk Panacotta
Sugar free Chocolate ICECREAM

#carrots

Ordered:
-Hot Starter Platter
-Pesto Grilled Tofu
-Monster Shake

Service was great, and the concept is good. Everything was served immediately and with a smile, normal water was served with lemon flavour which was great. Welcome drink was soya milk which was good.

Although, Food was bland, not spicy at all, all 3 of the starter platter tasted same, tofu wasn't great either.

Maybe vegans might like the food, but not meant for non vegetarians or people with spice loving taste buds.

Carrots was an amazing dining experience! The menu has a wide range of items- everything dispelling the notion that vegan food is boring. Dishes we loved: falafel, pizza, tiramisu, and gulab jamun.

Apart from the food, the space is warm, relaxing with a lot of posters and literature on activism. One if the owners, Sushmita, came out to talk to us and share her vegan story. Great to see a restaurant share amazing food, good vibes, and take action.

If you are a vegan this is the place for you! If you are not, I am not sure how much you will enjoy food. Vegan buttermilk was really nice! Ambience is really good! Pretty fairy lights and beautiful interior!

I found this place through Zomato and glad I found it. Being a hard-core non-vegetarian, I was quite skeptical of satiety value of vegan meals, but this place completely surprised me with the quality of food.
Today was my first vegan meal here and to be very honest, I was surprised with the dairy and meat alternatives they serve at the restaurant. To begin with, they severed a complimentary buttermilk made up of soy milk. Although I have had soy-milk before many times, but being served as a buttermilk was definitely a twist. They also serve lemon water before meals.
I ordered a fruit fusion juice, a juice made up of fresh pineapple, watermelon & orange.

For the mains, I ordered seared watermelon and tofu platter (the veggies also include bell peppers, but I chose to not include them as I am not a big fan of bell peppers). Tofu was absolute best, the red tiki kind of thing is watermelon seared. The potato tiki was also good. A bit sweet in taste (because of watermelon, of course); but I was ok with the sweetness.

To end the meal, I asked for a cashew juice. For those who don’t know: vegan meals include milk from nuts like cashew, almond, etc and soy.

I would love to try out falafel and hummus next time. (Would update this review then).
Come one, come all.

Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Festive, friendly service. Delicious vegan food that shatters the dubious misconception of bland vegan food.

Any one who would like to try a meal - decadent or hearty or healthy- they have it all.

Dishes I loved:
Cafe cha cha- sinful
Masala tea with cookies.
Pesto grilled tofu
Bruschetta
Mushroom stragonoff
Hummus and falafel
Malai kofta
Gulab jamun
Tiramisu

This is my second visit and I am a patron now for life.

I don't know how it took this long in the coming, but it finally is here! A carrots walk-in customer since the inception year, I've evolved as a customer with the restaurant's evolution, from their buffet lunch days to made-to-order plethora of vegan desserts, the ride gets as guilt free as you wish! The recent favourites have been the pesto grilled tofu and gulab jamoons, but their menu reeks of awesomeness and health, to go with the affable hosts, ably brought together by ever chirpy, never down on energy of Susmitha! Their must try list is as long as their menu, I hence recommend one to visit and write down their own must try list for themselves!

If u want vegan food go here.. If u want food here please dont. This is where food comes to die. We ordered a wrap and barbeque sandwich.. Both had similar stuffing. The bread of the sandwich was cold, hard and just too tough to take a bite of. Man they need help improving the bread quality.

Loved this place. Had a heard a lot about Carrots in vegan groups. We had the tahini pizza, garlic pasta and chocolate brownie. The pizza was to die for and on par with any cheesy pizza. The sinful chocolate brownie was amazing too. A must visit place in Bangalore for any vegan or non vegan. My non vegan friend was blown away by the tasty and creamy food.
The ambience is casual and service was pretty good too.
The only picture we remembered to take while digging in was of the half eaten chocolate brownie.

As a foodie, I believe one has to eat in a broad spectrum of restaurants and eateries. The experience probably makes it worthwhile.

So when I heard about Carrots, the reason I went there was to experience a vegan restaurant. It was nearly five years ago and I loved the ambiance. The cane chairs and tables, the warm informal setting let you know this was a place for some good food, relaxed conversations. They have interesting patterns and designs of wood and cane all the way till the ceiling. No A/C but windows and fans meant some nostalgia and not too cold like some of the restaurants. And yes. Probably that’s a way of going green too!

I had a meal with rice, curries and sides they served with an additional order of a chocolate mousse and Jowar Coconut jaggery cookies. I remember thoroughly enjoying the meal and especially the Jowar coconut jaggery cookies. In fact I went back for some more cookies the next week.

Recently I paid them a visit again and unfortunately, the meal was no longer served. So I ordered Rosemary potato with barbecue sauce for starters, Mushroom Stroganoff for main course and my favorite Coconut Jaggery cookies for dessert.

The potatoes were nice, crispy and the rosemary flavor was really good and the barbecue sauce was fantastic. I was surprised with the quantity though. If you are alone, very likely this will fill you up :)

The Mushroom Stroganoff I found quite bland to my liking. The broccoli, bell peppers, creamy sauce and a nice hint of rosemary and thyme were all good, but I craved for some salt and spice. And the brown rice didn’t help.

Ah! The Jowar coconut jiggery cookies. I would come back to this place only for that if I must. It’s consistent and if you are lucky and end up when they are still warm, they are really good!

Service is good, the staff are quick, polite and courteous.

I would say they are expensive, but then this is a niche restaurant that doesn’t have the regular fare or volume driven business. So it's fair to say it’s a value for money for the experience.

But more important than anything, I leave the restaurant tummy full, not aching or feeling lethargic and grin on my face about the “Good karma” meal of the day.
Will be back to try more dishes. Sadly I didn’t take any pics that day as my cellphone was about 4% on battery!

Edited:

Visited again today, 24/11
The welcome drink of vegan chaas? Was good

Ordered a combination of fresh juices ( Muscle relaxant, watermelon and orange)

Chili garlic potato – tasted nice, quantity was impressive

Almost Pesto Paella – Flavorful, but I craved for some more salt and a hit of spice

Garlic cream pasta – The cashew sauce was too thin and a little bland

Mushroom Stroganoff – nice and balanced spice and salt, way better than the last time.

Jowar jaggery cookies – I was full and eating the 3rd one! As usual great!

Absolutely fabulous!!

So happy that Carrots is around the corner of where I stay, meaning I will be able to eat vegan often :-) I stepped in and ordered take-away. It was ready very fast and the service was great! I even got a complimentary soya buttermilk while waiting (which was delicious).

The food was simply amazing (I had this chickpea curry and paratha) and as a desert I took the chocolate brownie.... best I have had since I am in India. This is what actual chocolate tastes like, pure cacao, mouthwateringly good! Could not finish the whole piece because the portion is big, so I will enjoy the other half tomorrow:-) I recommend this place to everybody who aims to eat healthy, pure and delicious food, a little hidden gem.
