Highly energetic folks and amazing ambiance. Chef Ram is awesome too and brings a huge repertoire of culinary delicacies to the vegan palette. If you're new to veganism and thought vegan recipes are bland, boy-oh-boy, will you be proven wrong (in a positive way). I'd say, just keep an open mind, visit the place and try out their dishes and soon enough you'll realize that a plant-based diet covers all your nutritional bases and is even better (dare I say) than your SAD diet or Indian Non-veg diet. No transfats, cholesterol, gluten or white/refined sugars in their dishes and non-GMO stuff. Keep up the awesomeness, Carrots. :)
Carrots- The Pioneer in Vegan Food joints in India . Mecca of its kind for so many of us . A melting pot of different ideas targetted towards the common goal of saving nonhuman animals ...these ideas being exchanged there over some amazing vegan grub !! That is how I view Carrots as ....a landmark in the setting of vegan contemporary scene in India .
Ordered a chocolate ganache cake from carrots and it was heavenly. I was in doubt before ordering but I'm soo glad I tried it. Here on, CARROTS is my go to dessert place. Can't wait to try their savoury food soon! Also they have an amazing customer service team.
They have THE most amazing vegan food options ever ! And the ice creams are to die for !
A place that exuberates love, welcomes like home & when it's home, no doubt that the food served nourishes the body, & doesn't just end in satisfying the mere tongue! Beautiful people serving love & not just food!
We have been meaning to go to Carrots for a long time. And we finally made a visit last weekend. We had booked a table and glad we did it. The place is small, and was quite packed. Coming to food, they served us complimentary coconut buttermilk which was quite nice. We ordered veg paella and mushroom stronganoff. Both were decent, and tasted fresh. Definitely not a bad option for vegans and anyone who wants to try something new.
Carrots has an extensive vegan friendly menu that can give anyone struggling with giving up meat a helping hand. There were so many dishes that were simply unique especially the fusion ones like mashed potato pie and mushroom stroganoff. Another initiative I absolutely loved was their 'guess the ingredients' game. It came with our peanut butter shake order. A note saying, "Guess the 12 ingredients in your shake". It made me taste my shake mindfully, savouring every sip, something I am easy to forget. The plate of falafel hummus was delicious and so so filling that the Waldorf salad order felt like an 'over-order'. Last, we were offered complimentary soy buttermilk and coconut cookie. Delights that make a humble establishment like this one that much more loved.
The one thing that left me a little confused. Animals aren't allowed in this animal loving place.
Been following Carrots on Instagram for a while, being a vegan enthusiast myself. The other day I saw this post where they shared a picture of their vegan pizza, with cheese that couldn't be said to be vegan if not told. I had to had to try it. Found the earliest opportunity to go visit Carrots, luckily on the New Year's Day.
My oh my, best pizza that I can think of, till date. Simply put, loved it. In further details, oozing cheese that puts pizzas from big brands to shame. Who would say that its vegan! And you know the best part? It's vegan! Highly recommended by a cheese lover.
Also has their Detox Juice, Pesto Grilled Tofu and Mushroom Stroganoff. All prefect!! Can't wait to try other menu items as well.
A must visit for vegan food, delicious food, warm host, good services. They have huge variety of vegan food. My go to place for all things vegans. Do try their weekend special
Being vegan in India , especially who loves desserts , is quite difficult. But, the food and the quality this place offers are just incredible. The best place for milk is inside a cow. This was one of the messages I saw on stuck to the wall. They offer good range of vegan dishes to choose from. The soup of mushroom, bell pepper minestrone soup served with whole wheat garlic bread was really good. Chaat was pretty good especially considering the fact that the papdi was baked not fried.
Not just Bangalore, but India’s first ever completely vegan restaurant. Had been here way back on 2016 and 2017 a couple of times, but I wasn’t vegan back then.
This place is very close to my heart. Recently attended a workshop here with the Owner and the Head Chef. The owner/Chef is the nicest, most positive person you will ever meet.
Coming to the restaurant, its not too big, the set up and interiors are very very basic, but the Menu, oh dear Lord! You cannot tell by looking at the items on their menu that these can be vegan. Such a vast array of options, categorized as H1, H2, and H3 depending on the degree of health and indulgence/taste.
They also have a huge range of gluten-free options.
The staff is very polite, friendly, helpful with the menu, and prompt. They always serve a complimentary buttermilk made with soy curd – which is delish.
Coming to what we ordered –
1. Very Veggies Juice (very refreshing)
2. Crimson Punch (very refreshing and tasty)
3. Pesto grilled Tofu (Pretty amazing)
4. Chef’s special mockmeat curry (A little 'too good to be true')
5. Masala Chapathi (amaze)
6. Gulab Jamoon (a little too much on the sweeter side for me, but yumm, and you couldn’t tell that it is any different from a regular Gulab Jamun)
During my previous visits, I’ve also tried their Kaffir Lime, Almond Pesto Paella, Carrots Special Healthy Plate, Palak Tofu, Sugar Free Chocolate Ice Cream – all of which is highly nutritional and super tasty.
Have also tried their vegan chocobars during their chocobar fest earlier this month. One mustn’t miss this, like ever!
This place is going to be my go-to for anytime I get the opportunity to pick the place for a meal out :D
Highly recommend for vegans, and even non-vegans who want to know what the fuss is all about.
A good restaurant. For vegetarians. Vegan option available. Carrot serves all types of cuisine ft or vegetarians. We loved the burger and buttermilk, staff and decor could be beter
The best vegan option in Bengaluru. I am not a vegan and for me the food here does not taste exactly as those which have milk content. But the cakes and other sweets are as close as possible to the non-vegan options. The plum cake from here was better than what I get outside.
Currently being a cloud kitchen needs a day in advance which is totally worth it, for Chef Ram customizes exactly the way you want the delicious good food.
Carrots is India's first vegan restaurant located at Koramangala, Bengaluru. Restaurant promotes organic farming, offering plant based foods. Menu comprises of dishes from across the globe, all dishes served to us was packed with flavor and tasted excellent.
Ambiance has a homely vibe, I felt relaxed and enjoyed my lunch, very friendly staff. Carrots also has organic product store and they sell many products prepared in house like soya milk, red rice milk, mock meat, vegan mayo and more. Guilt free meals with no sugar, fat or excess oil. Please make sure to mention if any nut or allergy they will customize and prepare meals accordingly.
I found myself carving for more vegan food after every course, truly wholesome and superb food. My three picks from the entire tasting was creamy corn soup, sloppy joe burger, Let me just tell you this is no ordinary burger. Sesame chocolate bun sandwiched with a mock meat sloppy gravy served with side of french fries and home made fluffy mayo, finally dessert whole wheat chocolate brownie was yum.
This is ethical vegan restaurant. Quality and taste are really amazing. I ordered pizza, cake and ice cream for my sister's birthday. It was super yummy. Really want to try many items from your restaurant. Thank you so much for giving amazing Vegan foods.
Carrots is one of my fav vegan restaurant in Bangalore. They offer good range of vegan dishes to choose from. We tried their special week day lunch of Rs.600, it was worth the price. We ordered the combo of soup, main course and dessert.
It was a perfect start with the soup of mushroom, bell pepper minestrone soup served with whole wheat garlic bread. The 2 main dishes we had were 1. Almond Pesto Paella which tasted good but I felt the consistency was more liquid, the individual grains of rice did not stand out, wasn’t dry enough. 2. Aubergine Mushroom Platter which was presented so well we didn’t have the heart to murder it.
The Very Veggie juice had good strong flavour of ginger and carrot. Unfortunately the desserts vanished too fast!
Ambiance - Simple, good and clean.
Service - Prompt and helpful in suggesting right dishes.
Being vegan in India , especially who loves desserts , is quite difficult. But, the food and the quality this place offers are just incredible and I'm so glad this place exists. It's heaven for vegans and people who say that this place is costly have no clue what this place represents. Also, the prices are cheaper than most vegetarian restaurants in Bangalore. Trust me, this place makes your time worth it. Do try once, and you will fall in love with the food , just like I did! 😊
This is a vegan paradise! Such amazing food! There are a lot of different delicious options and mostly very healthy also, fresh products used, not oily and beautiful presentation of the food! As a European, the prices are low to me so I was super happy to find a vegan restaurant where I could actually afford everything!
I loved the Malai Kofta, the Chocolate Shake <3 and all the sweets! Do try the OCD Brownie - it is chocolate heaven on earth! Also the Black Forest Cake... Can't wait to come back to try all the other menu items!
P.S. I loved Gulab Jamun when I first came to India and was sad that I couldn't eat it after I turned vegan but Carrots delighted me with their vegan version!
The best vegan restaurant in Bangalore ! Amazing food and amazing service ! I wish you had a branch in North Bangalore too. Has their black forest cake, it looked so much like non vegan black forest cake I had to ask em if it was really vegan ! The taste was delicious. The seitan pasta was perfect !
.
The only complaint I have is their servings are too big for a single person ! May be they can reduce their portion sizes and the price 😜 will surely keep coming back. And get my non vegan friends do try this amazing place
A place I used to pass by every day for three years but couldn't enter because of the term 'Vegan' attached to it's brand. Finally the day came when my new year resolution of eating healthy prompted me to enter the place. impressions after entering the place:
→ Cozy
→ Earthy
→ Peaceful
→ Beautiful
→ Authentic
The vegan restaurant made sure the theme match with interiors too. wicker furniture, plants in glass bottles, kora grass mat on certain parts of roof and brown colour here and there gives the earthy feeling.
Staff:
Staff is courteous and non-interfering while you enjoy your food.
Food:
→ Soy buttermilk is the complementary welcome drink and it takes off all the myths on it's taste. I loved it. Tasted really yum.
→ Good varieties categorized under healthy, treat, taste etc.,
→ milk used in food , specially in deserts like ice cream are coconut milk, Almond milk and Soy milk.
→ I had coffee ice cream and chocolate ice cream both tasted different yet delicious.
→ priced little high but I think looking at the way Vegan products are priced, the prime locality they are at I think it is okay but it is still advised to work in prices to make it affordable so that customers can walk in regularly.
→But I must say, portion size is good. you feel full just after having one item like Pesto or Almond
CARROTS - Bengaluru's First Vegan Restaurant.
So now what is vegan? Vegan is something that you don't consume even the animal derived form of food like Milk, curd, butter, cheese etc... They purely use plant based products.
Located opp. To Eat Street of Kormangala.
Ambience is nice and cute with wooden chairs and table and nice wall paintings and a book rack for the book enthusiastics.
Staff are very friendly and me and my friends were curious to know more about the restaurant Owner Sushmitha was sweet enough for us to explain every details about it. Coming to the food
We started of with
*Soy Buttermilk - Couldn't find much difference from the normal buttermilk.
*Energy Booster - blend of dates, cashews, sesame seeds with soy milk. If you are in want of some afternoon booster than this is a must try.
*Crunchy Waldorf Salad - This salad uses their in house Creamy Cashews Cheese and Cashew Mayo for the dressing. The salad gives a nice and rich flavor of veggies and cashews.
*Chilli Garlic Potatoes - This stole my heart. The flavors of garlic was perfect.
*Almond Palomino Pasta - It's a mixed sauce Penne Pasta with their in-house cheese and sauce served with whole wheat garlic bread. Pasta was little bland could improve on flavors.
*Espanol Pizza - The base of the pizza is whole wheat due to which it was little harder unlike the regular maida based pizzas.
*Mini Ice cream platter - it tasted good and had 10 mini scoops of Icecreams. they are not made of milk and cream it's their in-house plant product based icecreams. Colorings are natural plant colorings.
*Black Forest Pastry - the classic pastry but whole wheat pastry
*Obsessive Chocolate Disorder - which was really tasty. Brownie again a whole wheat brownie with the nuts chocolate icecream and chocolate sauce.
*Chocolate Cream Cake - it's a layerd cake with chocolate ganache and chocolate cream which is also gluten free.
They even do customized party cakes.
Ambience - 5/5
Food 4/5
Service - 5/5
