Review Forage - Bengaluru

Sneha Krishnan
On a casual stroll one day, I noticed this cozy bungalow which had forage written. I discovered from a quick google search that’s its a restaurant and made a mental note to visit one day since it looked so inviting. And indeed it felt like home! Lazily stacked bookshelves against greens lit by dim yellows, this place makes you want to spend hours together reading and let time pass slowly. The food was also amazing in taste; quantities weren’t hearty but filling enough. This place focuses on healthy eating. Recommended: Jalapeño Mushroom Pasta

The place opens at 7:30 pm dot! The ambience is just beautiful, feels very cozy and comfy. The interiors of place have been thoughtfully done. It has both indoor & outdoor seating. Good options in European cuisine. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Wonderful restaurant one of the best places to eat in the city. I highly recommend the feta salad and cheese board and don’t forget to save room for dessert. The black and white and the chocolate mousse were both delicious. The restaurant is lovely and the service is excellent.

Forage.. From the time I heard about this place & how it transforms food I have been waiting to go get a bite of it 😀. They believe in serving food which is pure & yet they turn it into something extraordinary. Healthy twists, keeping all the actual flavours intact without masking it with too many additions! If you are foraging for food like this then look no further. If you remember the old “Ice n Spice” in Indiranagar.. that’s where these guys are located. Don’t look for that same old building that housed Ice n Spice, they have totally redone the place to something so beautiful & chic that you will be in awe.. its colourful yet simple with loads of plants around 😀. Their seating area is well spaced out & there are indoor bits which is like a house with a cute little library & loads of cozy corners. Perfect for a quiet date 😀. There are a few tables outdoors as well, it is covered but has loads of natural light streaming in. They plan to open a small wine bar on the terrace soon. I’m looking forward to that 😀. The hostess is lovely & she knows what she needs to about the place. They serve wines & they don’t serve chicken or paneer. I’m sure many of you have this 😱 for an expression. But, I did not miss it one bit. They have the red meats & seafood 😀 and they are cooked so elegantly that you will want to keep going back 😀 for more. Their menu isn’t extensive, it’s apt & red meat lovers, you will want to order it all 😂😂. We tried a couple of salads which I loved. The dressings & the simplicity just blew my mind. 1. Quinoa Salad (to die for for a salad lover 😀, chickpeas, creamy lime tahini dressing with a crunch from some toasted sesame) 2. Beet & Orange Salad (crunch from walnuts, red wine vinaigrette). For the starters we got ourselves the 1. Sourdough bread basket served with olive tapenade.. it jus disappeared in no time 😀. 2. Peppered Sausages - pork sausages with some juicy tomatoes 🍅 & fennel (must try !!!) 3. Petit lamb chops - perfectly done with a white wine reduction & rosemary 😋. For the mains we got the 1. CharGrilled veggies - the smoked cauliflower purée served with this is sensational 😋 (Must try !!). 2. A piece of cake - a slice of steamed red rice Cake topped with some crunchy greens & prawns 🍤 all in a creamy coconut sauce. Very comforting for a Mangalorean 😀. 3. Sea Bass orange - poached sea bass, with some veggies in gingery Orange sauce. The desserts were again really amazing. We got one of each 😂😂. The best bit is they are not too sweet, n there are options for everyone. Chocolate lovers don’t miss the chocolate torte 😋. If your into herbed desserts the Panna Cotta with basil & coconut will make you go gaga 😀. The cashew & date creme caramel is a welcoming change from the usual creme caramel’s we eat. If bitter coffee is what you seek in your dessert then it’s the Coffee Panna Cotta for you, don’t blame me, you will get hooked..!! Colourful plates, each dish plated wonderfully, with love & passion. It sure does tempt you 😀 & won’t disappoint you one bit! You have simply wowed me Forage. I will definitely keep coming back for more 😀.

Warm, cozy place for having superb and different food! Look out for an interesting logo as you search for this restaurant, which looks more like a fine bungalow! The hosts have the philosophy of food for the restaurant clearly sorted.. and it is a refreshing change from the usual routine at most of the places.. have tried many of their dishes and it’s been a delight! Their sourdough bread basket with olive tapenade is yummm Shroom wraps were nice, flavourful mouthfuls. Jalapeño mushroom pasta was so light n fresh. Chomped through all this and did not feel bloated.. even though portion sizes were good. And now eating a vegan dessert..😊 Extremely pleasant and courteous staff - well informed about food at the restaurant. go with an open mind to sample new flavours... you will come back satisfied at the detour!

Forage is definitely one of the top places to visit in Bangalore. Their ambience, decor and use of plants make you feel at home! Their flavors too are on point and the only scope for improvement is the quantities that they serve. On two of my visits I have had the fortune to sit on both the ground floor and their terrace and they both have personalities of their own. Whether you are visiting or living in Bangalore, this is a must go restaurant. Great for meetings as well!

Perfect for a date. Italian style set up. Little costly but worth every penny. Enjoyed the food , it's uniqueness & excusive taste

It's a hidden gem in Indiranagar. It's a cosy place designed to feel very homely and personal. The food is the kind that surprises the pallet and is a very welcome break from the run of the mill restaurant food. The interiors consist of comfy sofas, few tables spaced far enough from each other and bookcases used as dividers to separate the areas of the open floor plan. If you like your meals uniquely tasty, your restaurant warm and personal and your servers helpful but not overbearing, Forage is the place to be. By the way, they have an open area as well and a rooftop that you can rent for a private dinner or party.

Amidst the hustle bustle of Indiranagar, this is an oasis. The chef Himadri Dimri earlier connected to GRASSHOPPER They don't serve chicken or eggs. But food is simply awesome. Recently they had a pop up of botanical paintings by Alisha Dutt islam

Amazing service and got to try some new stuff. The place is really nice and cozy! Min was absolutely lovely and helped me plan a birthday dinner for my friend. He also tried to understand our likes and dislikes before suggesting some of the menu items.

Forage gets my full 5 stars for concept, service, taste and ambience with a bonus extra star for their rooftop garden. I was in search of a farm to table restaurant in Bangalore and Forage did not disappoint. The lentil salad is to die for, the simple but well put together flavours of their other dishes really did have me slow down and just enjoy every mouthful...I wish I had more time here to try other items on the menu. Thank you for a lovely evening Forage.

Ambiance is soothing. Non veg food is innovative but less in quantity. But perfectly cooked. Service is wonderful.

The moment you step into the homely, cosy and green space you suspect that this could be something special. The ambience, much like the food is soothing and comforting. I'm thrilled to see a restaurant in Bangalore that serves truly healthy food. We tried out an assortment of dishes from the appertisers to the maincourse and the starters. My favourite find was a dish involving zucchini pasta and caramelised bacon.... WHo knew heaven coulld be so healthy. I loved the passion and vision of Mayura for bringing a place to the city where we can breathe real air and eat real food. recommend.

A place that cares about fresh nourishing ingredients, where it all starts - making this speical place and a breath of fresh air in Bangalore .. scrumptious! Thank you Team Forage

Had my first meal at Forage earlier today. The Chargrilled Vegetables. Hmmm. To my surprise, it was not "Healthy-boring, steep, vegan, or served in tiny portions!" Impressed. intend to forage through the entire menu. Great space for conversation too! Note to self : Try new things in first person and only then have an opinion.

Went for a food tasting and wow it was a gastronomic delight. The subtle orange flavour of the aromatic spare ribs, the sweet orange and beet salad with walnuts, to the fillet of beef with a truly unique pumpkin mash! Even though I'm not a big dessert fan, the coffee pannacotta and creme caramel with cashew and coconut butter in a date puree nicely rounded off the meal. Congratulations Mayura and Rajnish on the new venture!

Loved the rice pasta dishes... One with peas, feta and broccoli, the other one was lovely, tangy and spicy with jalapeños and omigosh, I don't even remember the names but the flavours were very different and I didn't even notice the lack of a sauce base because of the popping flavours in my mouth. The caramel creme was good with a very coconutty flavour and the torte was a unique taste experience too. I'm a nutritionist and appreciate the effort that it takes to serve customers healthy food. I'm also appreciative of the gluten-free and almost dairy-free menu. Made with mostly whole ingredients, and from scratch...this was a great experience.

We went on a Friday night. Try and reach after 8 on a Friday as you will otherwise face a deluge from the Gospel church restricting access. The doorman went all out to help us park. Being a long weekend, there was not much of a crowd. We sat outside which had its own ambience. We skipped the wine and tried the various juices. Highly recommend the Mist ( if I got it correct) and the watermelon juice. Starters - we had the prawns, wonderballs and mini lamb chops. Prawns were just right. Lambchops were succulent. Shame that the pork spare ribs are off the menu! Main Course- The Braised lamb was out of this world. The subtlety of the taste and the balance made it one of the best dishes I have tasted for a while, I would be loath to order anything else on my next visit. My wife had the pork stew which was good but the lamb overshadowed it. The beetroot pasta was also very nice Desserts - ordered the Chocolate Torte and the Coffee Panacotta. They discretely heard that it was my birthday and the Torte was on the house. A very nice gesture. The Panacotta is highly recommended, we ordered one more. This was complete with a coconut milk latte. It was very interesting as it was sweet without any sagar addition. Summarising, Forage provides a lovely ambience to indulge in guilt free gluttony with a twist. Cribs- some items off the menu, omission of chicken (I am not complaining but some politically correct non veg folks might feel left out), Friday night church traffic. Am thinking really hard for these!

Couldn't have had a better food tasting experience at Forage Fit. The food was phenomenal and unique. I can truly say it was a delightful experience. The helpfulness of the staff, atmosphere and mouth-watering dishes made it an extremely enjoyable afternoon.

I went for the first time yesterday!! Was firstly extremely impressed by the ambiance, was extremely European!! Then comes the food!! Could honestly taste each and every ingredient, each and everything was so fresh and delicious!!! Then comes the sinful stuff- the desserts, I actually salivated, Haven't done that in the last 40 years!! To top it all all the food I ate was Gluten free and Dairy free!!! Cannot wait to go again!!

Beet and orange salad was excellent. Had the spare ribs but would have like a bit more caramelised. Excellent ambience and would go again.

Ate my own dinner and snacked from the plates of my friends. And here's my favourite: Beetroot salad, soupy lamb (oh my God yum!!!!!!) and coffee panna cotta. Will be back again and again!

We had a lot to eat so im going to review this by course.<br/>We started with the strawberry salad and the sourdough bread. The salad had very good quality ingredients, but I felt like the dressing wasn’t very well balanced, it was quite acidic and could have used something sweet to balance it out. The sourdough bread was not great - wasn’t crusty like we hoped it would be.<br/>We then moved on to the lamb chops and “wonderballs”. Both were divine - the jus in the lamb dish was so so good. The wonderballs were also very tasty and came with a unique coconut cream.<br/>We also had falafel and hummus which was ok - hummus was maybe a bit too salty.<br/>For mains we had the fish and the beef fillet. The fish was ok, and the beef was maybe the best steak in Bangalore. The jus was again fabulous, the steak perfectly done, with the perfect finishing touch of home made mustard.<br/>For dessert we had the Panna cotta and the chocolate torte. Both were pretty great. The coffee caramel sauce with the panna cotta was nice and the torte wasn’t overly sweet and had a nice refined taste to it.<br/>All things considered, we had a great meal, and the ambience and the staff were nice. Would recommend!

A must visit for European Cuisine lovers...Best ever lamb chops...too tasty and succulent...Beef Pinxtos has an amazing wasabi tang...the dessert was also lovely with a orangy flavor... So people who love to experiment with variety cuisines , do not miss this place for sure... the ambience is also very nice and sobre and has a European feel 😊😊😊

All these years in Indiranagar, and i had no clue about this hidden gem. Simply fantastic. Right from the ambiance to the food, everything was perfect. The staff is extremely courteous. The place is constructed inside a house and naturally gives out that welcoming vibe of a known place that is close to your heart. The prawn Gazpacho is a MUST TRY. I have had my fair share of gazpacho in Spain, but this one was a knockout. We ended up ordering it twice! Oh, they even allowed me to rent a book from their collection for two weeks. :)A Sunday well spent. Thank you Forage.

Went with family on a Friday afternoon. The ambience is minimalist if. We sat in the outdoor seating. The food is absolutely fantastic. We had Kombucha, char grilled vegetables and blackened fish. We had a vegan member and she was amazed at the variety. All in all was a pleasant and memorable afternoon. Thank you team forage. Ashok Balaji

Third visit over the past couple of years. I had absolutely forgotten about this gem of a place – until a friend reminded me about it again recently.<br/><br/>This place gives you the feels of a huge house turned into a restaurant (probably is as well)<br/><br/>Its beautifully setup – classy, elegant, yet simple. They have outdoor space as well. Very cozy and peaceful.<br/><br/>The service is extremely warm and friendly. Also very efficient – they offer suggestions, offer customization on request.<br/><br/>What we ordered – <br/><br/>1. Fig and Feta Salad <br/><br/>2. Sauteed Mushrooms (with black sticky rice)<br/><br/>3. Jalapeno Mushroom Pasta<br/><br/>4. Cashew and Date Crème Caramel (very surprisingly and honestly unexpectedly – turned out to be super-duper delish)<br/><br/>5. Kombucha – Pomegranate and mint (very refreshing – very tasty)<br/><br/>6. Americano<br/><br/>7. WATER (yes, you read that right – the only thing ‘not so nice’ that I might have say about this place is we were charged 375 for a still water!)<br/><br/>Some things I’ve tried during my previous visits here – <br/><br/>1. Coconut Milk Cappuccino<br/> (heavenly)<br/>2. A piece of Cake (we talking about a menu item – and not a literally a piece of cake or dessert :P – it’s phenomenal btw))<br/><br/>3. Miso Tofu Maki<br/><br/>Why I don’t mention something about everything we tried here – is because EVERYTHING was SO GOOD. There is not one thing I tried and did not like. No complaints (except maybe the water :P)<br/><br/>I would love to keep coming back here.

Went for dinner on Christmas Eve,right from the ambience to the collection of books in this place sets the tone for a great experience. Had the roast lamb and paprika prawn which was great . Great conversations with Issac. Was pleasantly surprised to see him speak such good German and hear his views on the hospitality industry and experiential dining. This is a must visit place.

Right from the ambience to the food, it’s one of the must visit places in Bangalore. The setting of this place is so welcoming and calm with some books kept around to read. With limited dishes on the menu, it was perfect. Prawn Carpaccio and Beef fillet were so delicious, the beef was succulent paired with the right sauce. We also ordered Roast lamb, and this was like no other dish that I have tasted. There was something different about it. I am surprised we didn’t know about this place before, and this is definitely not the last time we are coming <br/>here! Mr Min was very kind and helpful with his service.

Went for a date. And the moment I entered in the evening, I was joyed to see the perfect ambience that I was seeking for. Ambient environment, light music, less crowded, ample space in door seating and outdoor seating. One of the service associate from Forage - Lin took quite good care of us with timely serving and explaining the different delicacies and helping us select the right item. Cheerful smile and an open attitude to serve the customers is the key to win hearts and I was extremely with happy with Lin.<br/>Must visit for a romantic date.<br/>There's also a special seating on terrace for candlelight dinners as well and making the moment special.<br/>One can even find decent books to read and spend time.<br/>Must try:<br/>Kambucha<br/><br/>Speicality :<br/>Organic and freshly cut.<br/>No additives, no preservatives<br/>Well, Just by the taste, one could tell that.<br/><br/>Downside:<br/>Food is slightly pricey. But then I think that's little bit fine and okey, may be if they could work on it - that would be better for them.<br/><br/>Thanks Forage for such great service and ensuring everything was utpo the mark. Would definitely share with friends and would love to come back in future as well.

Forage..how do you say that again..foraaahdge is it? And does it have to do something with leaves falling? Or is that foliage? So you know that I don't Google before writing a public review. In fact I don't Google before doing much. Cuts both ways. online research has no forbearance on the outcome of the path you choose. Or the restaurant you choose to go to. Teja bacho khatra.. what are you high on. Can we have some of that? No you can't. Read the review. This is the review..if youve read my reviews you know that I spare none. I'm easy to impress if you'd do less restauranteurs. I'm a general guy. Forage is poetic. Artistic. True. There's purity and passion in everything about the place. Decor is quaint and calming. Menu is carefully put together: it's not set out to please everyone almost looking for friends who's agree. To be perfectly honest if you can't live without chicken ..eating chicken I meant...otherwise it would be a bit weird..anyway yeah so if you'd like to order chicken you'd need to go elsewhere. Also if you like eating like there's no tomorrow, go elsewhere. Portion sizes are not meant for volume based value seekers. There's some comfy sofa/ seating away from dining area and a bookshelf. Both these features are close by. Not for no reason. Hahha. Ok right. Didn't get the joke? Start over. I ordered their meatballs in coconut sauce and blackened fish. These are two different dishes btw. What a pleasant surprise must I say. Commendable is the fact that the chef chose to express individuality. Create a flavour so appealing and unique. It takes guts to create dishes. The cook on the fish was extraordinary, just enough capers and olives and the sauce delectable. And somewhere there I think what I tasted was a green paste, maybe our humble coriander? Again a great interplay of flavours and balance. I also got myself something that looked like creme brulee with cashew cream which was delectable! Forage is , from my perspective for advanced, nuanced patrons. Kudos for putting your heart and soul. And please don't go rushing and open 10 other branches like some other folks do. Less is more!

One of the best places for Sunday brunches, with the yummiest food in town! And this one is super healthy and refreshing too. Min took excellent care in suggesting what best to order and the wine that will go with it. And Chef Himanshu nailed every single dish!

Forage has been on our go-to list for some time. The menu is interesting with its healthy eating options. To top it up, the ambiance is amazing. The seating area is cosy, private and non-intrusive. Lots of green, lots of books and lots of space. Definitely would go back to Forage!<br/><br/>P.S : we absolutely loved the kale pasta. Thanks Forage! Keep the great work going!

Discovered a wonderful place at Indiranagar. It’s a proper fancy date restaurant but the food is spot on! <br/>I ordered 1) Jalapeño mushroom pasta with Parmesan and lemon-hands down one of the best I’ve had that includes pasta from Italy.<br/>2) veal and bacon wrap roast- the meat was absolutely tender <br/>3) shroom wraps- packed full of flavours feels good on the tummy and taste buds <br/>4) and some rosé to go with it <br/><br/>Price wise- I’d say heavy on the pocket. So save this one for the special nights.<br/>For more such reviews follow my page @dishiidish on Instagram! #dishiidish #bangalorefoodblogger #bangalorefoodies #bangalorefoodiesclub #bangalorefoodie #europeanfood #pasta #mushrooms #veal

Quiet and earthy, forage has a homely feeling. On a weekday, you’re likely to be the only guest visiting. So if you’re looking for a quiet restaurant for some me-time, this is your best bet. <br/><br/>Go there with a book or pick one from their selection to keep your coffee company. <br/><br/>The food menu was exclusive and presumably healthy. The portion sizes though were a tad disappointing. I went home and had dinner over my mains at forage. Not the kinda place that would give you value for money.

One of the best continental meals I’ve ever had in Bangalore. We ordered a strawberry feta salad, three tapas (lamb chops, peppered sausage, sea bass bites) and two mains (lamb shank, blackened skin sea bass). Everything was perfect - freshness of ingredients, the preparation, balance of flavours and textures, presentation. Simply delicious. The decor is understated, tasteful and calm (the bookshelf is a nice touch), makes you feel like you’re visiting a friend’s effortlessly elegant home. I wholeheartedly recommend Forage to anyone who loves great food in a tasteful, relaxed setting.

The place is nice and posh but it comes with price. They have a theme and no chicken menu. The food we ordered was tasty but this is not your daily visit.
Kavita Arora
Love the bespoke and artisanal food, but not the service. The portions are small, but delightful, and surprisingly filling! Will go again, probably, a few times, just for the food. For some reason the waiters tend to be a bit pompous and come up with excellent excuses not to "serve ice with water because they ran out of ice" (who runs out of ice when you have a kitchen to prepare the delicacies offered on their menu?!) In any case, this place is quite a treasure, and a needed change from the high-end joints that only promote "tikka kebab masala". Hope this establishment survives in Bangalore. Disappointing that they only serve international/imported wines -- it means that your bill doubles if you want to enjoy a glass, they should consider putting some high end Indian wines (Sula ain't that bad, you know!) if possible.
Ankit Sobti
Used to love this place but the quality of food has really gone down. Overcooked (burnt) fish, unset runny pannacotta, readymade (?) pasta are not what you’d expect from a place that is definitely positioning to be fine dining.<br/><br/>Giving the additional 1 star only for the staff who are super nice.

Had been to this place after reading the reviews and had personally recommended it to my friends. Little did I know, it would be the last time that I insisted on a place.. To begin with fig and feta salad was one of the 5 or 6 odd dishes we ordered. That was the only dish which was worth eating but unfortunately we found a long brown human hair in the salad half way through it. Every other dish was very substandard in taste and shockingly small in portions when compared to their price.. We had ordered some fish dish with wasabi in it and the fish was stale and pasty.. We spent around 7.5 k for 3 of us and left still hungry and angry, never to get back there again. They of course did not charge us for the salad but still charged for the smelly and pasty fish. Imagine paying 7.5k for may be 5 dishes and wine and still get back hungry!!<br/><br/>I would ask you to stay away unless you want to ruin your day..
Sanjeev
Underwhelming food for the hype and prices. This place is unfortunately losing its edge. We also found hair in the salad. All in all, can totally give it a miss

Forage is a sham of a fine dining restaurant. The absolute lack of quality in the food was only slightly made better by the mild-mannered staff. We ordered a series of tapas dishes and each one was a disappointment to say the least. The sea bass - undercooked and pasty, the lamb - tasteless and insipid, the beef and bacon meatballs - again, tasteless. How one can make beef tasteless is beyond me. Not to mention that the portion sizes are abysmally small.<br/><br/>And the piece the resistance - there was a long piece of hair in my friend's fig and feta salad. He literally pulled it out of his mouth. This is culinary sacrilege for a place like Forage which is all about fine dining meets healthy eating. When we brought it to the notice of the staff we expected the chef to talk to us, but all we got was the waiter returning to our table to say we won't be charged for the salad. Considering the marked up prices we are paying for a place like this, you'd have expected the chef to be at least apologetic about this gaffe. But no. Would definitely not recommend. Save yourselves a hefty bill and totally underwhelming food.
RiaRheaRiya
Lovely setting and lovely food. But this dining experience is not for everyone. If you want the usual stuff-your-face and roll-out-the-door meal, don't go to Forage. The portions are small. But each dish is artfully presented and nearly everything was delicious. The Fantastic shrimp were quite good, with a nice sweet-savory combination served with mango. The jalapeno pasta and grilled seabass provided a hearty ending to our beginning of lighter tapas. The fig-feta salad was a little disappointing, perhaps because of too much seasoning. And dessert of apple crumble was sweet and yummy. The meal is pricey so a visit to Forage is best saved for a special occasion.
Apara S
If you want to eat at a super fancy place with super fancy food- this is it. Many Indians will complain about this place because they’re too used to their masalas. This is for the finer of the fine dine crowd. Go here only if you’re okay with authentic (masala-less) western food.
Maria
We stumbled upon this restaurant quite by accident. We had planned dinner out with the family at another restaurant, but when we reached there, we were informed that children were not allowed. So we drove around a little and came across Forage. They use fresh, organic ingredients, that they forage for on a daily basis, hence the name. The decor was smart and they have a herb garden on the terrace.<br/><br/>We ordered the braised lamb, pork stew, beef fillet, prawns, veal roast and blackened fish from the mains. We also had the chocolate torte and a cheese platter. The food was well prepared and for the most part nice enough. The lamb was very tasty but the portions were miserably small. Left us feeling very hungry. For the price, I would have expected just a little more. There was too much quinoa with the portion of prawn that was served, that it bordered on unpleasant.<br/><br/>All in all an interesting concept. However, the pricing and the portions need to be balanced. In my opinion, it was not value for money.
Hena Paul
A very good place to go with bae, the ambiance with low hanging lights and Neena Simone playing in the background creates a lovely atmosphere. The food is delicious. We had a serving of tapas, a fig and filet salad, and roasted Lamb. They also have a good selection of wines to choose from. I didn't usually like lamb, but this was so tender and perfectly cooked, that I throughly enjoyed it. The portions are small, but yum. Would definitely recommend this place.

There is a not-so-thin line between sophistication and pretentiousness and it’s sad when you go expecting one and get the other. Totally not worth the money for the experience, even if some of the food and drink might have been good. The service lacked class and lunch was a sadly disappointing experience. <br/><br/>Six of us plus a baby went for lunch to celebrate my parents anniversary. At first we really liked the minimalist decor and ambience but that was it. <br/><br/>Many of the dishes - the salad and the roasted cauliflower and a fish entree were unevenly salted, over-salted in some bites, not in others. <br/><br/>The drinks ‘ran out’ (they only have a few to choose from to begin with) and though they were nice we couldn’t order repeats but the servers were unable to communicate this to us well enough. <br/><br/>The worst was the main course - we literally had to eat one at a time, because each dish was brought out and then the next dish appeared after ages. This completely destroyed our experience. <br/><br/>We asked for some butter to go with the bread - and it felt like we were asking for something impossible. 3 different servers and a few difficult conversations later we managed a bit of unsalted butter! <br/><br/>I think the saddest part is that when we spoke to the manager/owner lady and told her our experiences she tried to explain it away as the ‘slow food’ or ‘fresh’ aspect of the restaurant. This is sad. There is a difference between waiting for food because it is being freshly prepared and bad service (which is what this was)... she finally chalked it down to a bad day before muttering something about ‘making it up to us’ before dashing off. Not surprisingly we didn’t see her again. We skipped desert, paid our bill and cut our losses for the day. <br/><br/>

It’s a beautiful and serene place. The food is amazing! Service is impeccable too. We went there on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and loved everything we ordered. Unfortunately they don’t have valet parking & that could be tricky over the weekends considering how busy the street gets.

Forage is the newest entrant at the ever bustling Indira Nagar area of Bangalore A modern restaurant, the menu offers limited choice. But that should be no cause for concern as the food is absolutely delicious and you can taste that it has been made with great attention to detail <br/>We’ve tasted all their sea food dishes and found them to be spot on You will come back for more

Forage is a place which will leave everyone impressed by its ambience and its food. This place offers a serene and a comfortable environment which is missing from most of the restaurants these days. The food quality is very good. I tried prawns and blackened fish and they tasted really well. I also loved the succulent decoration because it really added to the appeal of this place.<br/>I would like to visit this restaurant again and try other items on the menu.
Gaku Shinoda

In the clutter and madness of Indranagar, this is the oasis of good taste, literally and figuratively both! From the crowd to the menu to the wines...the theme continues. And the food explodes with subtle flavours. Unfortunately the dessert was disappointing. Am definitely adding this to my list of favourites.

An enticing experience, and succulent delicacies gives your tastebuds a great feeling. Mostly quiet ambience provided a fine experience, definitely recommend if you want to have some great food and a peaceful meal

We were here for a the special dinner series that they run, which pairs foods and wines in a pre-set menu. This was on their terrace with a special table laid out for 15 or so guests under a canpoy covered with vegetation. The area had been suitable dressed up with candles and similar decor setting the mood and was a rather nice experience.<br/><br/>The wine pairing was talked through as they served the food and the focus was on the pairing as much as on the wine. Usually their choices of wine is exotic and eclectic but in our case we had wines which were already available easily off the shelf in Bangalore. Nevertheless the wine list was acceptable and discussion around them enjoyable.<br/><br/>Food was really quite nice, and the pairing worked very well. The amuse bouche was actually very stunning as was the salad.<br/><br/>Main course was lamb done in tagine style, and was fairly nice and succulent, even if slightly light on the flavour.<br/><br/>The desserts were quite fine as well.<br/><br/>Service was hospitable and top class.<br/><br/>Overall a very enjoyable evening even if a bit expensive, and would been even more fun if the wines were also off the beaten track.

Really good food, as expected. The appetisers were clean and delicious. The food in general has simple flavour combinations that go really well together. The presentation was very good too. I wish they had more dessert options though.

Best food and service in Bangalore so far. The only negative is that they only have expensive imported wine. Indian wine is also good and more affordable when you will sit for hours. So Forage - please get some Indian wine as well! <br/>The atmosphere is nice. A place where you can sit and talk to each other with calm music in the background, the music is not to loud (That’s rare in Bangalore) .<br/><br/>This restaurant gets 5 out of 5! <br/><br/>
Aviroop Sircar
Amazing calm place with jazz music playing at the background. Perfect place to take your partner for a lovely date. This is a pricey place however the dishes are made to the perfection. We had shroom wraps, jalapeno mushroom pasta, buttersweet prawns and coffee Panna cotta. All of them were just amazing. There is a lot to explore in the menu and would be definitely visiting again. The courteous staff also deserve an appreciation. They were friendly and helpful.

Went to meet a friend and had the cheese boat, wine and prawns. Cheese boat......u get like 4 varieties of cheese and not all would be to the taste like really! The prawn I’m not sure why but I ended up getting an allergy (I’m not allergic to it) ...wine was the only saving grace..the ambience gets full points but I think the focus should be the food! I’m not sure if I’m gonna visit again ...pretty sad abt it as my expectations from this place was pretty high

Visited this restaurant on a holiday afternoon and to be honest I was very disappointed by the experience.<br/>We ordered three starters all of which had extremely tiny portions. The Fig and feta salad had negligible amount of fig, the bottle green spaghetti was barely a few spoonfuls.<br/>The mains' portions too were insufficient even for single sharing. The roasted quinoa was almost burnt in the Grilled vegetables and the rice cake was dry and dense with very little coconut stew.<br/>The only food we relished was the sourdough served in the beginning. The service too was very slow and the pricing does no justice to the quality and quantity of food.<br/>The ambience of the place, however, is much appreciated. All in all it seems like a very pretentious restaurant.<br/>Hope to see an improvement in the taste and portion sizing.

I went here with a group of girls and to be honest found it too frilly for my liking. The food was very fancy, taste was very average. The service was really slow. Maybe I'll try another time<br/>But definitely not on the list of my favorites yet.

A friend and I wanted a quiet place to eat at on a Friday night that was in Indiranagar. We found Forage on Zomato and decided to give it a shot. I was taken aback by how this perfectly lovely place was sitting right there on 6th main the whole time and I had no idea about it, whatsoever! <br/><br/>I’m not going into the details of what we ordered, because this experience (the music, the setting, the service staff and the food (OMG THE FOOD)) is my sincere best-ever in Bangalore. It is the most perfect spot in the entire city for a date, a quiet catch up with a friend, a celebration of a special occasion or just an excuse to go eat some exquisite food. <br/><br/>And I mean exquisite. I know I said I wouldn’t go into the details, but bear with me. The veal roulade was sooo good! And the mutton in the stew was falling apart as my fork touched it. The house made sourdough was fantastic too, as was the tapenade. <br/><br/>All said, my new favourite place in the city. I can’t wait to go back! <br/><br/>Just a note : more people should absolutely go here. I can not recommend this place enough. Please go and spend time at Forage, and you will not regret it.

In Indranagar, but away from the madness that is 12th main, is Forage. The eatery was in all probability, a house converted into this space that is elegantly appointed, jumping straight from a design magazine; with it's classy furnishings and colour palette. I don't even remember now, if there was any music playing? Imagine on a saturday night! Perfect place for adults, who want to have a cosy, intimate night out, without screaming across the tables.<br/><br/>My two friends, were waiting at our table, in this outdoorish space off the main dining area.<br/><br/>They serve only wine here and had a limited selection by glass and I opted for this pineapple ginger mocktail, which was really refreshing, while my pals had a glass of wine each.<br/><br/>To start, we ordered fantastic prawns, fig and feta and a beef rocket salad.<br/><br/>The prawns is served in a very masterchef style plating, with slivers of mango. It sounded and looked better, cause the dressing was very mild and didn't quite elevate the dish, but the prawns were fresh! I didn't try the beef salad, but the boys liked it. The fig and feta was really nice and I was pleased with the generous crumbling of creamy feta. Have got to say, the mix of salad leaves was really fresh and crunchy.<br/><br/>For mains, I got the sea bass and my pals shared the soupy lamb.<br/><br/>Couldn't quite fault the freshness of the sea bass (if slightly small a piece), the fillet was cooked perfectly and was flaky; the citrus caper dressing, again didnt overwhelm the fish. Good stuff! I didn't try the lamb, but it was wiped clean off the bowl, so guess it was good.<br/><br/>Till now, the meal was great..but sadly, the desserts didnt quite hit the spot we expected. The chocolate mousse, veered towards excessively bitter and even the consistency was odd. The Chocolate torte was marginally better and had a home bake feel to it, thanks to the generous cocoa, but the coconut milk accompanying the cake, did nothing to elevate the cake.<br/><br/>I know, sugar is a dirty word, in high end desserts, but a little extra dash wont kill! But what saved the order, was the excellent pannacotta, with this citrus sauce. We all loved it!<br/><br/>Service was professional through the night.<br/><br/>All in all, this was pretty refined cooking, no overwhelming sauces and respect duly paid to highlight the produce. Pricing is surely on the higher side of things, but justified the meal we had.<br/><br/>Decor/Ambiance-8.5<br/>Food-8.5<br/>Service-8<br/><br/>Overall-8.5

Forage turned out to be a pleasing experience for the most part. It is well appointed, and everything from tables and seating to plates and bowls are tasteful.<br/><br/>The staff here is great and they know their stuff relatively well. They present the food and beverage with finesse and talk to you to make you comfortable and help decide if you're not sure what you want exactly.<br/><br/>The menu is limited, though quite interesting. I would have loved to see a couple of better non vegetarian mains, but that's just me. The vegetarian bouquet was better than the non vegetarian, and that was the only thing that made me frown.<br/><br/>Tapas selection is simply great. The ones I particularly loved were the peppered sausages, and the wonderballs. But even apart from these two, whatever we tried was delicious.<br/><br/>Good place to go to for an easy, low decibel dinner.<br/><br/>¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This Sunday happened to drop in to Forage for a quick catch up over some Tapas with a dear friend.Picked this place for two reasons.Been wanting to try the food at this place and beautiful ambience that this place has.Well coming to the food. The complimentary Sour dough bread with black olive tapenade was absolutely amazing. That too for an olives hater.... I simply loved it!!! From the Tapas options we started with Shroom wraps. Delicately rice paper rolled sauteed mushrooms with a spicy hit from a pepper sauce was tasty.Next was my favorite dish of the day.... Buttersweet Prawns!!! Beautifully, perfectly cooked succulent prawns in a sage butter sauce with some asparagus n greens made a pleasure to eat.... Absolutely loved it!!! For the next one we loved the description but were disappointed with was the Roasted Cauliflower. It was slivers of baked cauliflower with roasted pinenuts and parmesan shavings. Our expectations were florets of Cauliflower not slivers. Taste wise though it was on point. Next was Wonderballs...These were super tasty juicy bacon and beef meat balls with a superbly made coconut milk sauce with bellpeppers!!! The ambience is beautiful... Warm, cosy and homely at the same time. Overall a place most definitely worth a visit couple of times!!! And they have the concept of farm to table and organically sourced food which makes sure the ingredients used are fresh, organic and of the prime quality!!!

Housed in a bungalow on 6th main, Forage brings to life the concept of Californian-styled clean eating (think: limited dairy, no processed sugar). We came for dinner on a Saturday night and chose to sit outside amongst trees and a glass cover. Despite heavy rain mid-way through the evening, the glass did an excellent job in preventing rain water from seeping through. The inside is warm and cosy with book shelves and wooden finishes. <br/><br/>The ambience is excellent.<br/><br/>The food:<br/>For the vegetarian tapas, we ordered the Miso Tofu Maki and Green Bottle Spaghetti. We loved the fusion touch to the tofu maki and the creaminess of the dish. However, the spaghetti was a little disappointing. Given the price point of the dish, it lacked flavor. Although the idea of substituting actual pasta with fine strands of bottle guard sounded interesting on paper, it didn't really translate onto the dish. Perhaps, incorporating an ingredient that has the texture of a pasta would help uplift the dish.<br/><br/>My parents, both non-vegetarian, ordered the buttersweet prawns and lamb chops. They loved both dishes.<br/><br/>For mains, we ordered the mushroom jalapeno pasta and the beetroot pasta. The mushroom pasta, in particular, was incredible. The ingredients were fresh and the tangy flavor really came through.<br/><br/>The desserts- the chocolate torte and panna cotta- were both made without refined sugar. The chocolate torte was paired with coconut cream and it worked very well. <br/><br/>Conclusion:<br/>Forage is for those who are willing to experiment with vegetables, textures and flavors. A lot of the reviews mention fault the restaurant for being "healthy", but that's the restaurants USP and it manages to pack fresh produce with interesting flavor combinations . I'd commend the chef and owner for upholding the vision they have for this restaurant(the fact that they don't serve actual milk is a little shocking, but kudos).

Perfect place to treat someone special.., a bungalow that’s transformed to a restaurant. Comfortable chairs, light music, minimal lights, fantastic food and wine menu, polite service. Expensive , but I believe the best quality comes with a cost. Happy dining experience.

😊 its all about the presentation! It’s all about the ambience! It’s all about the interiors & setup! It’s all about the taste...this place called ‘forage’ is located on 6th main Indiranagar, tucked away in a beautiful bungalow converted to a restaurant. It’s an experience if u like good looking food. 😊<br/>They apparently have the best wine collection bar in town (I think it’s yet to come up on the 1st floor), I ll surely go back for that one. <br/>Meal for two without wine: approx 4-5k

An appetizer, two mains and one dessert costs about 1850 so don’t go by zomato standard, unless zomato is considering only the least priced items. The food was good in terms of its texture, it was very flavorful and and the ingredients tasted very fresh. The name jalapeño mushroom pasta is deceiving because we only found mushrooms and no jalapeños in the pasta and what I also found was some green leafy vegetable which really didn’t need to be there, kind of ruined the creamy cooked to perfection pasta. The sour dough is to die for and the the piece cake is better than many actual cakes. The desert, date caramel is just plain weird. I can’t talk much about the service because we were the only patrons so we had no complaints. The ambience is also great. Now if that’s the case why would I give this place a 4 and not a 5? Well that’s because I saw a medium sized rat, running on it’s medium sized legs under our table towards the kitchen. Amazing!! For a moment I felt like I was part of the movie Ratatouille, but this ain’t that kind of a movie. So management, if you do read this review, please take care of that issue because if your public areas are like this, I wonder what happens in the behind the closed kitchen where patrons are not allowed.

Such a quaint place with lovely staff ,calming ambience and tasty food. Loved my experience at this place and I highly recommend it . Must try - Petite lamb chops, braised lamb and the blackened fish! ❤️

Finally visited Forage for lunch with a friend. Loved the ambience and the feel of the place . <br/>When it was time to order, was extremely disappointed that they don’t serve any chicken dishes which left me with their vegetarian options . <br/>My friend placed an order for the black fish which she loved and I ordered the rice cake with coconut milk and crunchy vegetables- was a little disappointed with the flavours . <br/>We also ordered for the quinoa salad which was extremely disappointing considering there was barely any quinoa and only chickpea which made the entire dish very pasty to the tongue . <br/><br/>For drinks we ordered the pina and the watermelon juice both of which were nice ! <br/><br/>A little heavy on the pocket <br/><br/>

This place is for simple, delicious, clean food. If you are looking for food that is super rich, filled with calories, you are in the wrong place. Three food items on the menu that you must try:<br/>1. Quinoa salad<br/>2. Wonderballs<br/>3. Prawn with artisanal bacon, cucumber, sesame over brown rice (yum yum yum!)<br/><br/>The decor is just perfect. Very earthy, very calm, simple yet so classy. It's one of my favorite restaurants in Bangalore.

Good food. Good ambiance. Decent service. Tiny tiny potions and very expensive and hence, terrible value for money.  The Zomato guidance of Rs. 1500 for two people is completely wrong.  One small appetizer, one main dish and one dessert will set you back Rs. 1500 PER person (assuming a 10% tip).  And you will still go home hungry.  There are several restaurants up and down 12th main who will offer the same quality food for the same price or less but you won't go home hungry.

Ok so I am not a healthy eater. I love my sugar and fried stuff. So when my friend suggested Forage, I was a little skeptical. But the menu looked interesting, so we went. So they focus on healthy, natural food. No processed foods or refined sugar.<br/><br/>The ambience is lovely. It's a house in Indiranagar converted to a restaurant. There were indoor plants and books. Decor was tasteful. Place was quiet and had sophisticated air. When we went there werent many other customers.<br/><br/>Food: Now the menu seemed a bit limited to us to begin with. But it was definitely unique. We had a variety of things.<br/><br/>Bottle gourd Spaghetti: So I thought would probably be perfect for someone on a low carb diet. It was surprisingly yum! The pasta strands were well cooked. The sauce was delicious! A very unique dish<br/><br/>Shrooms wraps: An abundance of mushroom wrapped in thin rice paper. Very nice. And the red pepper and sesame sauce it came with was good too. Quite filling<br/><br/>Piece of cake: So this dish was described to us as puttu-like cake. I am not a fan of red rice, but this cake was well cooked and flaky. Went very well with the coconut based sauce it was served with. The greens very fresh and crunchy! Lovely dish.<br/><br/>Jalapeno Mushroom Pasta: This was my favourite! The pasta was cooked perfectly. Yummy mushroom. And the sauce was light and full of flavour! Finger-lickin good!<br/><br/>Watermelon juice: Refreshing!<br/><br/>So food was definitely good 4.5/5. Their ingredient fresh and good quality.<br/><br/>Prices. This I felt was a little steep. 3.5/5 for the value for money. Each dish was 400-600 rupees, apart from some of the tapas. Watermelon juice was 200+! For these prices, I don't know if it could become a regular haunt. Maybe on a special day. Food is definitely fresh, tasty and doesn't make u feel heavy at the end. Definitely worth a visit.<br/><br/>

Entouré by verdure, Forage is one of those few places I have been, where there is a lot of thought given to the space and food. Located in 6th Main Rd, HAL 2nd Stage, Defence Colony, Indiranagar, this is a perfect place to go for a date, to propose, or simply relax as if you are on vacation. Though I have not met the Chef Himanshu Dimri ever, I have always heard very interesting things about him. What he sends to the table are thoughtful artwork and I would someday love to meet him & tell the same.
Arpit Roopchandani
Full points on ambience, they have great indoor and outdoor seating, the music plays at just the right volume.<br/><br/>Food is healthy and good to taste, but not exceptional.<br/>They do know how to plate it up, though.<br/>Most wines on the menu are out of stock.<br/><br/>Also, doesn't rank great on the value for money section.
Mountain Monk
Nice and cozy place that serves great food, however I suspect the mushrooms they served were probably old and I had an immediate allergic reaction. I'm sure it's a one off incident, the restaurant is well maintained and has a nice ambiance too.

Just amazing! Love the concept, love the food, love the ambience. Very hospitable hosts, very friendly and cheerful staff. All in all a great dining experience.

Fantastic healthy food joint. Very romantic. Very cozy atmosphere. Everything is clean, pure and refreshing. If you want to have pure, low spice, low fat, slightly exotic looking European food - this is the place to be.

I was taken here blindfolded, metaphorically. Had I known Forage is a "healthy food" restaurant, I probably wouldn't have forayed into it at all. We waited in a car for a good five minutes before the gentleman (chatting on the phone) at the gate told us there's no valet parking and one can park anywhere. Oh well! No biggie. Forage came highly recommended from a colleague, so there was a lot at steak.(Yeah, I played with the word).<br/><br/>Walking in, I was fairly happy; you know one of those casual yet classy, upmarket but Bohemian vibe. My first instinct was to gauge the bathrooms, and as you can see from some very shaky pictures, the bathrooms scored big. Look at the cute little wash basin and the colourful tiled floor. What did not bode well with me was the proximity to the kitchen. I saw one of the hairnet wearing gentleman come out of the kitchen scratching below the equator. I let that slide thinking, "Humans!"<br/><br/>The attention given to us was a little sedated. I would expect not to wave like a wild ape at a human to get some attention, and this was just me, asking for the menu. Minimalism is the concept in Forage, I gathered. There was some Tapas and some calorie-sucking quinoa and brown rice and some beetroot and bottle gourd pasta and some lean meat and sourdough bread in the way of carbs. Frightfully, I asked if they can deep fry some frozen potato sticks. 😂 I knew it was going to be a big resounding NO. So I settled for Sourdough accompanied with Tapenade which turned out to be refreshingly good. The Wonder balls were wonderfully less, all the finely cubed peppers in the world couldn't fill that plate up. The Zucchini Pappardelle was essentially a vegetable garden: colourful, zesty, fresh and annoyingly tiny.<br/><br/>We discovered there was a wine list and a juice list, only when the surrounding tables had them served. I asked sheepishly if they could get me an orange juice, and as expected, it was only bottled cold pressed juices. I liked the Pineapple Ginger one and the Pom one; but I've had those before, the exact same ones. (RAW, was it?)<br/><br/>I am not a frowny face emoji, so when I found a tiny hair on a zucchini ribbon, I quietly put it aside and took a picture. That's my way of "asking for the manager and sending the food back". Sly? Sure! But the two lovely ladies who, I think, run the place, were nice enough to check on our table and I didn't want to burst their bubble. It's human error, understandably. I'm sure it doesn't happen to all. Somehow, happens to me a lot.<br/><br/>Without embellishing the review, let's just bullet point the whole essay.<br/>. Nice Bathrooms<br/>. Unattentive Service<br/>. Laid back vibe<br/>. Foresty food (read, healthy)<br/>. Nice Owners<br/><br/>Would I go back again? Perhaps not. Unless there's some weight-gain diet on the menu. If I want to eat healthy, I wouldn't be writing on Zomato. D'oi!<br/><br/>**No offence to healthy eaters, or Forage, for that matter. What do I know?! I came home and ate peanut butter out of the jar. 🤣

Totally my favorite restaurant in Bangalore! The venue is really cozy and refined and there is always beautiful music which is a good plus. <br/>I’m not a big fan of vegetarian dishes, but they have the best vegetables ever, so fresh and tasty (roasted cauliflower is delicious!). The lamb is also a must try! Very good selection of wines as well. Long story short, excellent place for a quiet dinner, for all those who fancy some nice light food and a good chat.

Forage is a place that you can and will probably drive by and not even notice.<br/>it's very unfortunate that you won't notice this place cause it is something else !<br/>I mean that in a good way.<br/>Forage has some brilliant healthy options that taste good, it's healthy and soulful at the same time. which is super duper rare.<br/>We had the Pork stew , the Sea Bass , the Lamb Soup and the Veg Pasta , nothing disappointed.<br/>it is slightly expensive but then I guess if you are gonna serve healthy organic food , it's bound to be expensive.<br/>The service is great and feels kinda homely , if you belonged to a very fancy home.<br/>confused yet ? try it out , it'll sort out all your issues.<br/>must visit.

Lip smacking delicious like u can’t believe. Absolutely love every dish. Been here 5-6 Times and it’s always superb. Favourites - roasted cauliflower, jalapeño pasta, coconut panacotta. Love love love. Genius menu and genius Chef.

Gourmet healthy food in a gorgeous setting, this place became my absolute favorite.  I loved their Pasta, Aubergine Crostini, and the Shroom Wraps. But my absolute favorite was the Chocolate Torte which will be the numero uno reason for me to visit the place again. They have really worked hard on the quality of food they serve because even after having so many dishes I did not feel bloated AT ALL! So, Forage is definitely going to be on my list of the top five restaurants in Bangalore.

Very slow. Not bothered about serving the food on time. Pls next time whoever goes here, pls make sure order main course first. 😂 <br/>Not responsible to let us know whether is food is ready or not. Been waiting for a pasta for about 45 mins.

This is hands down the best place in bangalore for a tasty and healthy meal. Each ingredient is fresh and the food not just looks good, but tastes fabulous. It’s such a pretty place (especially the terrace) and all in all, a meal here is an experience. Highly recommended! PS: order the beverage called “the mist”, it’s incredible!

We went there on a Sunday. I had heard from friends that it was a great place so the 4 of us decided to give this place a try. We visited the place at 1.30pm after making a reservation. The place wasnt crowded and it was inviting. They really need to work on their service front though. It took us 15 mins to place the order for entrees (cos their waiter was all over the place). the food took about 40 mins to arrive. It took us another 10 mins to find the waiter to place the order for the mains. We finally managed to complete our food and leave the place only by 4pm. We ordered a Kumala Shiraz but it was out of stock and we ordered something else. So, if you're not in a rush then you might enjoy the place. The food is average. You would expect better for the price you are paying.
Rajit Haridas
The interior and decor was really good and cozy. Food was amiss for me. Portions were ungenerous and honestly I was expecting more flavors. Quite expensive. Though listed, they were out of Indian wines, which seems quite convenient to me.

Forage... Well we had to wait"For-ages" for the food. We placed our order around 2pm and received our order in installments by around 3.30pm. and they cancelled 2 of our orders saying it will take even longer since we were complaining about the delay.<br/><br/>Never had such experience in Bangalore ever.
Jonas Olsson
Oh well lets start with the positives. The interiors and outdoor seating is very pleasing to the eye. Stylish and minimalist without being bland. But thats kind of where it ends.<br/><br/>Forage claims to be about healthy, light European cuisine. We ordered from the tapas menu - peppered sausages, mackerel and wonderballs.<br/><br/>The peppered sausages was basically pork sausages purchased from Bamburies, New Frosty's or the likes with some scared blanched tomatoes and dill on top. Bland. Completely lacking in seasoning.<br/><br/>The mackerel was three small roulades with some kind of tomatoe goo on one side and the seemingly ubiquitous dill on top. Manageable - but yet again completely lacking in seasoning and inspired flavours.<br/><br/>The wonderballs were probably the best dish of the eve - not that the balls themselves were anything special in flavour but the sauce and bed of chopped up capsicum saved the dish to a certain extent. But again - completely under-seasoned.<br/><br/>And taking back. The best dish of the eve was probably the sourdough bread served with olive tapenade.<br/><br/>And it's sad to read all great reviews - this is NOT how a healthy, hand-crafted meal should taste - basically without flavours.<br/><br/>All in all. No value for money. Under-seasoned food. Pretentious atmosphere not at all delivering to it's high heels.<br/>Maybe survives another six months?<br/><br/>

Finally was able to make to this place on Saturday.<br/><br/>The place was mostly filled with foreigners.<br/><br/> The interiors are very nice and soothes the eyes.Is one floor of a house with options of sitting outside and inside<br/><br/>The have a lots of book for a book lover like me.<br/><br/>The service was good and the waiter was aware of the menu and its content.<br/><br/>The menu is limited but that is how to main class and quality of what u serve<br/><br/>We had fig and feta salad Mushroom Pasta and braised lamb and everything was yuuuum<br/><br/>Mushroom pasta is such a common thing but they did manage to elevate it to a new level<br/><br/>Lamb was tender like a cheese cake and melted in my mouth<br/><br/>In a all if u believe in quantity vs quality and variety vs taste do try this place

Went for a dinner date with hubby yesterday to forage. We had high expectations after seeing the ratings but were left disappointed:( with the food. Ambience was really good though. Also overpriced for the food quantity. <br/><br/>What we ordered:<br/>Shroom wraps- looked different and was plated well like in masterchef but was kinda bland. It was different but not great.<br/><br/>Petite lamb chops- Delicious. Will order again and again if I ever go there(which I doubt) <br/><br/>Jalapeño mushroom pasta- Healthy pasta with zero cheese and no cream. But it had a lot of veggies and pasta and it was bound together by lemon juice. Tasted good. <br/><br/>Braised lamb- one word- Horrible. It was so bland. I had ordered it seeing a good review for the same below. But was so so so disappointed. The most tasteless dish I have ever tasted. I was very disappointed with this one..<br/>For dessert we had chocolate torte, it was the day day saver of our disastrous date. Delicious chocolate Brownie cake with a mix of flavors on a bed of thick coconut milk. <br/>Extra points for plating! <br/>It was a nice effort by forage but the concept of healthy food is really confusing for a person looking for some delicious fingerlicking food. <br/>

We landed here to try the food as part of Zomato gold’s 1+1 offer on food. <br/><br/>We ordered the Wonderballs from the starters, which were 5/5 in terms of taste and flavour but lacked in quantity. <br/><br/>For the main course we ordered the Beef filet with pumpkin mash and Beetroot pasta with prawns. <br/><br/>The beef filet was cooked well, but the pumpkin mash in the dish added an unnecessary amount of sweetness to the dish. <br/>The beetroot pasta was extremely vibrant, and tasted great. The pasta is gluten free as it’s made of rice. The quantity is not good. <br/><br/>We had the Chocolate torte, which was lip smacking and delicious despite the absence of any refined sugar. Not often do you come across a place which has aced a dessert sans the sugar! We were so pleased that after devouring it, we felt sad about not having taken a picture of the dessert. <br/><br/>Overall, I’m impressed with the flavours but feel somewhat cheated for the price I’m paying and quantity of food consumed. We also ended up waiting long for our food than eating it, and I hope they do fix this part.

If you want to have a healthy meal, forage will suit your need. Located in Indiranagar, it has a very calm ambiance. They have both indoor and outdoor seating with sofas, therefore making you comfortable. Coming to the food, for starters we ordered Shroom Wraps and Miso Tufo Maki. The shroom wraps tasted okish as the flavor of mint overpowered the other ingredients. The Miso Tufo Maki was perfect, it was very soft and tender. For main course we ordered a Jalapeno Mushroom Pasta and I must say I never expected that a healthy pasta can taste so good. Order a wine so that you can enjoy the flavors more.<br/><br/>We ended with a just chocolate mouse which was very fluffy and creamy. Overall, when you want to eat healthy food outside Forage will provide with a number of good items and a generous staff.

Great concept for healthy food. No wheat, sugar, processed ingredients in the menu options, but that doesn't imply boring food. You will be pleasantly surprised by the range of items on the menu and great taste. Calam and peaceful ambience. Has both outdoor and indoor seating.

Great food: simple, full of flavours, ingredients that one doesn’t see too often in Bangalore restaurants, and all this in vegetarian food too!<br/><br/>The staff could do with keeping information on ingredients handy.<br/> <br/><br/>UPDATE: I went there again yesterday, with friends, this time for lunch. The caramel (vegan, so yay!) was great (the chocolate mousse I had the last time paled in comparison), as was the mushroom/kidney beans/spinach/rice bowl. And the miso tofu maki was a flavour bomb (again) as was the aubergine toast. I wish it was closer home.

A luxurious dining experience in the most interesting setting. Lunch at Forage was a treat. We ordered the beet salad as well as the fig and feta salad. The ingredients were super fresh- salads were not doused in the dressing. Next we ordered the green bottle spaghetti. We were a bit hesitant because its actually bottle gourd pasta but it’s absolute must try! It was fresh and tangy and delicious. <br/>For mains, the jalapeño mushroom pasta was again very delicious. The stand out dish of the entire meal was the prawns with sesame and brown rice. It was the most unique flavour.<br/>Dessert was the Chocolate torte- which was top notch. <br/>The service is excellent, waiting staff is extremely friendly. The food portions are small so be prepared to shell out quite a bit when you dine here. Its the perfect place for a great meal at special occasions.

If you have dined in Indiranagar, and not visited Forage yet, you have sorely missed out on one of the best restaurants in town. They have dished out extremely healthy and delicious meals time after time. Each dish is impeccable. <br/><br/>They don't serve chicken, but everything from their vegetarian selection to pork to lamb to fish is simply fantastic! Indulge in their roasted cauliflower, cucumber salad, fig and feta, roasted vegetables, sausages, beef stake and top it up with their Chocolate Torte all with some lovely wine selection! <br/><br/>Highly recommended!!

In today's world, most of us are cautious about how we look and what we eat, few restaurants are doing a great job in helping us turn towards a gracious lifestyle. Dining clean and enjoying the odd indulgence every now and then has become a popular trend globally, but is still a niche concept. Keeping all this in mind and understanding the adventurous foodies of Bangalore who wants to try new cuisine always, Mayura Kutappa and Chef Himanshu have started Forage, of course, a bold attempt of catching up with the clean eating trend and making it a whole lot tastier.

Good food is basic<br/><br/>It works at every level. The olfactory before it even reaches you.... the visual and ofcourse the taste.<br/>Forage works on every level. <br/><br/>I visited the space a few days back with a friend and came out refreshed. <br/><br/>An absorbing ambient atmosphere. Aesthetically brilliant and technically sound.<br/><br/>The plainness of the menu and the concise character of the plating blew my senses - not to undermine the complexity of flavors that were so simply isolated and respectable to the ingredients that actually made them. <br/><br/>The beauty was in the execution where the cook did not try to mask or win over the produce. The only thing that can kill a good dish is the arrogance of the person manipulating it.<br/><br/>Miso tofu maki rolls, cucumber caper and peanut salad........ umami bombs! Perfect butter sweet prawns with asparagus on a bed of baby spinach.... fig feta salad. I can’t say enough about the delicate nature of each dish.<br/><br/>Finally braised lamb for the Main was the best decision as the slow cooked filleted leg of lamb on a bed of quinoa was fantastic. The person I was with had smoked cauliflower purée topped with chargrilled vegetables and caper salt..... <br/><br/>Desserts like cashew creme caramel with crystallized coconut sugar was a heavy choice as opposed to this intense coffee pannacotta that I ordered! <br/><br/>Overall sublimity <br/><br/><br/><br/><br/>

If you want to have hearty meal but don't want to indulge in junk, this is the place for you. The place is Vibrant, Clean, cozy, and its unique interiors/exteriors set the tone for a perfect lunch.<br/><br/>They have delectable range of salads and Tapas made using fresh produce.I am a big fan of flavors and every bite of Zucchini pappardelle , Shroom wraps and Beet & Orange salad had a bursts of flavors.<br/>Whether you resolved to eat healthy or just have a general sense that your life needs more Brown rice and fewer potato chips, Prawns with Bacon over brown rice is for you. <br/><br/>Chocolate Torte, Coffee pannacota, Cashew and date caramel are truly scrumptious.<br/><br/>Will be back to try other menu items

Just back from a lovely lunch which began on a rather displeasing note. We requested for rose prosecco and the server suggested Ruffino. We checked 3 times and he confirmed it was a rose. When he poured, we saw that it wasn't and when we questioned him, he was blank and clueless. Not a word came from him and he just stood there looking helpless.<br/><br/>Secondly, we actually had to ask the server to clear up the plates when we'd finished. The guy actually came with our coffee and instead of clearing the plate, was actually looking for a place to set the cup. Mind you, we were the only customers in the restaurant. All other tables were empty.<br/><br/>For a place which is outstanding in decor and ambience, for the prices I'm paying, I'd expect a better trained staff. <br/><br/>While the food was good, not exceptional, I believe it has been better. <br/><br/>Would I go there again? Don't think so.

[I don’t write stories coz reviews are totally based on ones’ perception; So, the climax :) ]<br/><br/>Ambiance : 4.4<br/>Food : 3.8<br/>Service : 4.2 <br/><br/>Totally unique restaurant. It has a beautiful ambiance, even though it's in a small house. <br/>Best for book readers, as it has a nice shelf. If you are tired out of day's work and want a peaceful<br/>time, just come here and have a glass of wine and a supper. I just love this place !<br/><br/>Word of advice : Very hard to find for newbie in first shot, as the 'Forage' is in residential area and not much restaurants are nearby. It is itself in a house as I mentioned.<br/><br/>Mouth Watering : <br/>Non-veg lovers: Pork Stew (mmmmm, but just make sure they serve tender chops not the tough chops), beef rocket <br/>Veggies : sea bass orange, fig and feta<br/><br/>Have a great food !

A real pleasant place. The food here is exquisite. One could even tag this as fine dining. The staff is very polite. The place is beautifully spaced, there is no disturbance from any other table. We had a great time here and would definitely recommend it. Also, they provide vegan options for a lot of their vegetarian dishes which is commendable.<br/>They are soon going to open a rooftop wine bar and by the looks of it, it's going to be as amazing.

Lovely and quaint little place. Easy to miss if you are not looking for it. Attention to detail is immaculate. Decor is simple and artfully done.<br/>Swift service.<br/> Food was packed with flavour. Tried the Beef Rocket Salad and Prawns as Mains ( served with artisanal bacon and brown rice)<br/>A decent selection of wine.<br/>Great music to go with the ambience.<br/>A perfect place for a date.<br/>Definitely coming back for more.

On our quest of eating healthy food for once, we came across this stunning place.<br/>The ambience and how carefully and beautifully the interiors are done, wins your heart right away.<br/>The menu is full of healthy handcrafted food, which is surprisingly delicious as well. <br/>We tried Pea Fusili, roasted cauliflower, chocolate torte with cold pressed pomegranate juice and black tea. <br/>Prices are a little steep but a must visit for some healthy & delicious meal.
