I will always remember Pecos Bangalore not because of how good the food was or the great background music - but more because of how dark it was!
I don't know if the intent was to maintain an environment that was so dark that couldn't tell who sat next to you or whether you received what you had ordered - but thankfully because it was tasty, food service was quick and the restaurant was empty on the Sunday afternoon I visited - I can say it was a good experience.
I definitely wouldn't want to be in such an ambience when it is packed though - which Pecos definitely can be!
There are places you go for best drink selection, then there are places you for the ambience.... This has neither. But the beer and chicken/pork curry dosa combination itself is an experience you must have here. Recently checked out the roof top, gives a airy shack like experience.
It's old and small, yes, but it has character. I can sit here for hours and have pitchers and pitchers of woodpecker beer, and not get bored. Music is especially good.
Bangalore's oldest pub. You just know you're in the midst of legends in music when you're here. The pork chilly is scrumptious, the beef chilly equally scrumptious. The beer chilled and you couldn't hope for a better place to hang out. One piece of advice would be ,please invest a little on providing cusions on the seats. Makes for a comfortable experience.all in all, it's one of my fav pub
Pecos is one of my favourite old school places on Brigade Road. If you like rock and roll and wouldn't mind chilling with some beer along with your friends this is a good option to consider. I personally love the ambience -dim lights, walls filled with posters and paintings of rock and roll artists. There are only beers (kingfisher/budweiser) available and to accompany with them I would suggest trying any of the pork or other meat dishes. Overall this place is worth visiting and it isn't harsh on your pockets. Not to forget the fact that this place has been around for more than 25 year.
Have been the hangout place since ages... Good music.. cheap beer and the chilli crab with other munchies. It has been my goto place since 2011......
An ambience to die for. Music volume let's you have a conversation so a great place if you are meeting someone for the first time over a beer. Do try there dosa chicken which they are famous for.
Was introduced to this place by a friend. Being a rock fan it was nice to see a place which had novelty and vintage vibe to it. Now I’m already planning to make this place my go to go place. From service to food 🥘 everything is absolutely delightful.
This place is home.
And the staff, family.
I've been coming here for years
And this is the Stairway to Heaven
Doesn't get better than this
Cheers.
Though it may not look like much from the street once your go upstairs it quite good. The ambience is pretty basic, they have done the best they could with the space available. Food is great and as a plus they have Zomato gold.
Was my first time at Pecos which has a reputation of being one of those iconic, must visit places in Bangalore. Must say it did not disappoint on any count.
Located in an alley on resthouse road, winding stairs lead you up to three floors of seating. The menu is well-stocked but not extensive; there's beer too.
My friend and I shared a pepper fry pork (which was excellent) and beer and an iced tea. They had no hot beverages on the menu, so I asked for an ice tea without ice. I also confirmed if they had nothing hot to drink. They said no. And I repeated the ice tea without ice a few times and the waiter, a little perplexed smiled and said he would see what could be done. They brought me back warmed up tea which basically tasted like nimbu chai. Absolutely loved that move and made the service seem better than it already was.
Lastly, the paintings on the wall, colour scheme of the place, lighting all set the tone which is finally bolstered by the rock music playing there. Amazing stuff. Takes you right back if that's the kind of stuff you used to listen to earlier -- led zep, Deep purple, Kansas and the likes. 5 out of 5 on all counts; will go back again
Kind of nastalgic, I remember roaming around this area long long time ago and the pubs used to be like this unlike the modern ones all over Bangalore now. They have three floors, first two floors are a bit dark and it's not very nice to sit there. Went up to the 3rd which is covered with Mangalore tiles with fans. When we entered there was no power therefore it was a bit warm inside. After a while power back and things where much better... The place had mostly young crowd and the highlight is the food. We started with egg pakoda/bonda, it was crispy and amazing. Followed by chicken bite, coorgi pork and some masal peanuts, all old school and tasted pretty good. Highlight is the dosa , you can order any curry, we went with chicken curry, it was pretty good. Service here is really amazing. It's a old school (very old) pub, needs bit of maintenance, folks who are used to the modern brewery may not like it however if you are open to trying different stuff and like amazing food, this is a must try one.
Was looking for something authentic and found it. Was recommended to Pecos by a friend. He said it's a place if good food and great music, was not disappointed. We order masala peanuts, pork tacos and beers. Everything was delicious. Definitely looking forward to going back to this gem of a place
We went with kids and there is a place only for families and kids(no smoke zone). My little one had fun!
If you grew up in bangalore then the place is excellent. If you like listening to an album and not a song the place is excellent. If you want to understand why all of us love rock then go to Pecos
What a nostalgic feeling...superb starters ...dosa in a pub !!! Great beer at reasonable prices ...my kind of place. ..
Edited...food quality haa gone down a bit....
Old school hard rock. Chicken kebab Tikka was the bomb
One of those classic places you can't miss. Don't expect much from the seating.
Food was amazing. They will take requests and the best part, they play all types of rock songs and as a classic rock lover, I enjoyed a lot.
Non veg was cooked to perfection.
An age old joint, standing strong and long, withstanding the new age Pub Culture.
A joint where most people of my age come to feel nostalgic, with their old Rock songs, rustic ambience.
It's a place for a very small group of friends to catch up, or couples who likes such rustic, cosy place with classic rock music.
If you are looking for ambience, loud music, party, comfort, flashy, then this is not the place for you!
As usual an amazing exp. Perfect place for good rock music, amazing food and a place which has a lot of character and history
