Review Ging Oriental Bar & Kitchen - Bengaluru

Sneh Rachna
It is on the 10th floor. So if you sit on the end you'll have a nice view. Even the wind there was cold. It is quite expensive. But the ambience is great. The service was good but a bit slow I felt. We went on weekdays so it was not crowded but even then servicing was slow. The food was on point. We ordered chestnut roast, chicken dimsum, noodles with chicken curry, and prawns taco. We also had peach crush, Magnum and corona beer.

Delicious Asian food. Their crystal dumplings were quite good, as was their Spinach and Shimeji mushroom soup. The water chestnut toast was interesting, and their Tofu and stir fried shiitake mushroom in oyster sauce was absolutely delicious. The staff was polite and service was good, the view was pretty good and it gets pretty windy. Highly recommend this place for a peaceful afternoon brunch to try out some great food!

Went in for a Sunday unlimited brunch with the family. The roof top is not actually an open roof top experience you would expect rather it's a closed roof with large open place. We opted vegetarian buffet for 5, the waiter was very rude to us, had no courtesy to even repeat the menu for us, he even had a straight face (waiter name was Raki Bull) he did not even want to us to enjoy our time there. The food was excellent I wish they would bring the dim sums faster and also serve ice creams in the buffet. They had clubbed our a-la-carte bill with the the buffet bill which is not fair on their part. Also the Khao Suey served was a very small portion with 2 strands of noodles and they charged us for a big portion of it.

Had been to Ging @royal orchid bangalore with squads for brunch & was gobsmacked😮 with the panoramic view of our green city from the top 10th Floor.😍 AMBIENCE: Beautiful chandeliers grace the place with a royal look. A wall graffiti of a dragon made with painted plates is a visual delight.🤩 STAFF: They were quiet generous & welcome with a smile...😊 APPRAISE: A buffet restaurant having live counters serving myriad & array of palates 🍽️to satiate your tummy & tantalize your tastebuds😋... Hop into a lush restaurant & bing in to explore scrumptious oriental delicacies with a beautiful scenic view❣️...

Restaurant with a view, one of the best places to view the greenery in the CBD Loved the food too for the taste and uniqueness. Beer is also available on tap. Been twice and the place was pretty empty even though it was a weekend not sure why. But This will b my go to place for Chinese, considering the taste, location and price

Had a great dinner yesterday over at Ging's. Located at the 10th floor, Chinese cuisine and had an amazing view of the Ulsoor lake. The place was rather quite and the food was tasty enough. The only request would be that they revisit their prices as I feel that for the prices offered such as the lobster etc, it does not live up to the expectation. Even the salad offered along with the lobster was just cabbage which was a turn off considering the price paid.

This place is charmingly lit and famous for candle light dinner. As you enter it presents you with amazing 10th story view. Cuisine is Asian and food quality is pretty good. We tried duck spring roll as appetizer and Bamboo rice, fish steamed in banana leaf and Mongolian lamb as main course. Steamed fish with creamy tender coconut gravy wrapped under banana leafs was the best fish I had in a long time. Service is bit slow but nothing to complaint about. This place also has a pleasant surprise for with jazz inspired music. Loved it.

Just the place you would want to go to if you are celebrating something very special & want to get away from the din of the city! I would say it’s perfect for a proposal dinner too 😬! It’s Uber romantic & the food is just surreal!! Kick back forget the world for a bit & just indulge in some culinary marvel that Ging has to offer you, not to forget that gorgeous view of the city from the 10th floor 😀! I went over for lunch, on a chilly day! The decor is clean & stark! High ceilings with large glass panes making sure loads of light streams in & also making sure you get that amazing view 😉. They also have a long balcony with seating clubbed with their bar. You can also catch a glimpse of the chefs putting together some dim sums at the counter inside the restaurant. We tried a whole lot of interesting dishes from their menu. Colourful looking prawn, chicken & pak Choi dim sums, my fav was the Spicy Prawn Har Gau, crispy fish 🐟 is a must try! Golden pumpkin prawns (got to try them to believe how wonderful they taste 😋). Try their Sriracha tofu if tofu is your thing 😀. Their hot pot sea bass is also delightful 😬. The Mushroom 🍄 hibachi rice is so buttery, that it will surely blow your mind 😀. One of the best tasting Hakka noodles ever was here!! The dessert that followed after this was also brilliant - “Assorted seasonal mochi”. Colourful fruit ice cream wrapped in Japanese Mochi 😋! N it was very sweet! So it was just my thing 😀. My favourite was the guava 😀. Ging truly knows how to tickle your taste buds if you love some great tasting Asian food. Kudos guys, keep your amazing work going!

Chicken Satay was excellent. Momos very tender. Heard GIN was brewed by them. Good view from the restaurant from KSCA to Ulsoor Lake. Hope to visit during late hours again

A fine dining Pan Asian restaurant at the heart of the city, with a great ambience and a partial rooftop . For drinks the speciality of this place is INFUSED GIN. they have different kind of infused gin and my favourite is the MARMALADE and SUGARCANE infused. Had a Smoked Gin Negroni made of sugarcane infused gin and really enjoyed it. In Starter's had the following PRAWN SUIMAI- generously filled with a great chilli oil dip. CRISPY DUCK SALAD- crispy duck with a good salad. CHILLI CHICKEN - perfectly cooked chicken high on spice, which I thoroughly enjoy. TURNIP CAKE- this was the highlight with outer crispy coat and soft inside. PLUM SAUCE WATERCHESTNUT- crunchy waterchestnut laced with delicious plum sauce. PECKING DUCK SPRINGROLLS- Flakey pastry on top with a delicious filling. In main course PENANG PRAWN - similar to Thai curry base, topped with litchi, It was interesting to taste, had it with rice In desserts MOCHI ICECREAM- looked colourful and enjoyed the back current and mango favour the most. BANANA SQUARED CARAMEL ICE-CREAM- This was my favourite dessert and really enjoyed the banana flavour. Rating Food-4/5 Ambience-4.5/5 Service-5/5 Overall -4.5/5

The food was delicious and there was a wide selection on the menu. The waiters and waitresses were very nice. The atmosphere was AMAZING, its close roofed but with glass walls everyone could see the breathtaking view. The live singing was so fun and lovely, the singer sounded brilliant and really added something to the place. The interior was pretty and so was the decor. You can tell the people running the restaurant really make a big effort

Asian being my preferred cuisine for outdoor dining, I was particularly happy with Ging, not just so because of the food but also for the fantastic ambience they have set.

A top floor dining area means a beautiful view of Bangalore central. Lunch hour was not a rush, and service was quick and efficient. Ging services within the hotel and thus, parking is not a hassle.

The food was absolutely fantastic. One can't go wrong with any of their fried rices, and I have a soft spot for their large plates; good both in taste and quantity. Of course, all hail Zomato Gold for making the check pleasable as well.

I would certainly like to visit once during the night time as well.

Whole Roast Chicken.

The chicken is marinated in the classic chinese Doubanjiang sauce(broad beans, soy beans, salt and rice) sauce
and Teriyaki sauce ( soy sauce, sugar, ginger , sake/mirin).
Said to have drawn inspiration from the British classic roast.
They certainly pulled off this classic chinese dish well and how.
Lobster in Butter Garlic.

That my folks is butter (and garlic oil) poached lobster.

That's it. That is the description. No words will ever do justice to this heaven on a plate.Thank you.

I was at Ging for my lunch and was surprised to see that there menu was so economically priced and later Chef Domnic did explain me about the new concept called Half plates. They have a live BBQ, 12 beers on Tap. Economically Priced, Light on pocket, excellent Cocktails and Mocktails, cool interiors with a nice view of ulsoor lake from one side and cubbon road from the other as Ging is located on the 10th floor of Royal Orchid Central Bangalore within the compound of Manipal Center.
Ging would be the right place to enjoy Hawker Style Street Food.
#RoyalOrchidCentral #SomethingNew #TheDrukenDumpling #ChineseCuisine #GoodFood
Ging - Royal Orchid Central

A great place to hang out with friends. Nice view of the city landscape, music not too loud to drown the conversation, good food and excellent service.

A great place with great view ! You can totally enjoy the view and calmness and serenity from the place.

An ideal day I recommend to go to this place is a weekday less Crowd and you can thoroughly enjoy the time spent here and it's all worth it!

The food here me as person should be picky since o don't gel with lot of flavors and the ones which I recommend and totally loved was
- tofu pops
- wokked crispy potatoes

The ambience is really amazing and the service is excellent here 🙌

Food : 3/5
Ambience : 4/5
Service 2.5/5
Cost to quality : 2/5
Giving 3 star mostly because of beautiful calm ambience. The asian food taste is okay. We didnt like the dimsums. Chilly corn were good and cocktails were great.Thai green curry was horrible, soups were nice. Service was damn slow and we had trouble even calling for waiter. Even waiters delivered wrong cocktails. Highly expensive and it will be worth going with z.gold/dineout.Given this amazing ambience, You guys need to step up to give the best service and quality asian cuisine.

Firstly they have a beautiful ambience .. a place where you could spend hours taking glimce of city and have a decent meal.
I don't know , the service was a bit delayed today .. each order of starter arrived late .( Kept calling and reminding the order).
Though food arrived late .. it was pretty good .. some had bit of extra oil .. (maybe should have cautioned they before hand) .
It was a good experience ..

Nice calm place with good food and soothing live music.. Great variety of food and drinks to indulge.. Something to keep the little ones busy like painting and caricature.. But overall the service of Mr Peter and co was great.

We went here on a Saturday evening, and they had happy hours on until 8 pm. They have a great selection of cocktails, and we thoroughly enjoyed them. The ambience is the star attraction however. Rooftop, open air, you have a view of the city, it's super romantic. Highly recommended for date nights!
CS
The view! It’s amazing. It wasn’t crowded when we went there a couple times for dinner. The service is great too. Loved their dim sums and satay. Yummiest satay sauce in town. They obliged us and customized something that’s not on the menu- appreciate that :)

Ging bar is an excellent place to spend your time, there is an amazing rooftop bar with great ambience, also to mention this place gives a special feel especially at night , the service that is extended is really top notch and i would want to call out the expert service offered by the one of the staff -Linda and the manager is also very friendly and displays a professional attitude and he shared some great information about the hotlel. It is definitely a place to visit with your family and friends if you're in Bangalore.

Ambiance: - 4 This is 10th floor & gives amazing view of city across all directions. Ambiance is contemporary & seating comfortable. It's little hard to find as its at the back end of Orchid Hotel.

Food: 4.5 Food was good, ordered some dimsums & noodle and rice dishes as we were in real hurry.
Noodles were done really well & enjoyed by all. Rice dish was good but not great. Dimsums were fantastic.

Service: 4 - We were the only diners at noon and still the team took a while even after consistently informing about time constraints. Considering food was good that's minor concern. Would like to see how it works when its full though to judge service better.

For Asian cuisine this is one of those options your might want to give it shot.

Food tastes good. Ambience was superb. Food worth every penny. We ordered Soup, Dimsum, Small Plate Dish, Mocktail and Noodles. Everything taste so nice that we justed loved it. While we were enjoying the view from the 10th floor, lucky to got the firecrackers distant views. This was really icing on the cake. Food quantity was apt, and value for money. We also availed Zomato Gold 1+1 offer.

I’m sucker for rooftop places, so definitely this is one my most fav place to go anytime after hype, shangrila. If you looking for dessert in the menu before starter, go for chocolate & chocolate

Bad service and bad courtesy! Food is still ok but over priced and for the service they offer not worth at all! Won’t be recommending this place!
Pramod
had a great time ..LIT,MASALA and COFFEE MARTINI made by MANOJ and DHRUV 'the bartenders' were the best cocktails which we had ever in Bangalore..service was great. food wise....sticky lotus stem a must try ..gave 4 star because of mutton chops which was expected to be good but was disappointing. So conclusion -> will surely visit again for cocktail. Cheers.

What a view, really stunning. Nice food, nice service. But views top it all! Chocolate & Chocolate dessert was a visual treat. I went in there in the daytime, I'd like to go during the evening for the view. Food ranges from good to okay. They have a large smoking section away from the non-smoking section.
Flying Firangi😋😍
Surprised how I have not been to this place.
Tucked away quietly in Manipal Center, located on the 10th floor is perfect for an special occasion.
Perfect to date night. The quiet and calm pairs well with the serene breezy view of the sky scrapers.

Service was great—4.5/5
In a long time, paying service charge is justified.
Everyone took special care to make you comfortable and make sure you have a good time.

Food—4/5
Food was better than what I expected, pretty decent size and reasonably priced.
Gin is the specialty and great variety with cocktails.

Ambience—4/5
No doubt, this place got to be one of the romantic places in Bangalore.

I’ve had such a mixed experience with this place from the two times I’ve been there. While the first time involved a live band and great service, the second involved a fairly dull evening with really slow and poor service. There was also an issue with the waiter refusing to serve certain dishes on the menu while the same dish was served to the diners on the table next to us. When we enquired and he didn’t have any answers, he was forced to bring us the dish as well. This absolutely made no sense. Also, there card machines never work and it requires you to pay the bill by the bar which is a hassle.

Ging, is meant to be a Gin bar. They have home made gin with interesting flavours.

Ging, is on the 10th floor of the Royal Orchid hotel and has a great view of the city from their bar.

They serve pan-asian cusine, and go a fair job to meet the general expectations of pan-asian cusine in the city.

Worth a visit if you are looking for a place a good view and some gin!
I wonder how I had missed writing about this place until this day! I have been to this place thrice and have been enchanted by the beautiful ambience, the view of the city in the evening from the height is a sight! The place is one of the most romantic spots I have been to, in Bangalore. Yes, you heard it right!

Pan-Asian food has always been a weakness and this place does total justice to the food it serves. Be it the dimsums or the noodles, it's spot on. We tried the Crispy Duck Salad, Ging Chilli Chicken, Turnip Cake, Peking Duck spring rolls and Pandan chicken. The noodles and the fried rice which we relished later were quite good too! They have infused gin cocktails, I liked the one that was sugarcane infused. We also savoured the prawn dimsums and we loved it!

For the desserts, we had their Mochi Ice-cream and Banana Squared Caramel Ice-cream. Devoured them all! This place has my heart and definitely deserves many more visits!

Cheers!

This place is new and has one of the best ambiences. It won't be an exaggeration to say that this is so far the most Romantic dinner spot I have been to. Dimly lit with a band performing soft live music is really catchy. The food is average. I would still recommend the steamed coconut fish and bamboo rice. One more downside of the place is their delay in serving food. Although they took care of us great deal, the waiting time for food was exceptionally high.

An amazing new place in the heart of Bangalore. That serves Chinese food. This also has an exclusive Gin bar, that serves some amazing drinks.

Their food was presented so well, the starters and main course is some thing you want to go back for. The pictures will talk for it self. The desserts are lovely. Overall the view is stunning. Since this is located on the 10th floor, you get to see the beauty of Bangalore from a birds eye.

If you want to visit a fine dining restaurant in the heart of Bangalore then GING should be the place.

Impressive place for fine dinning. The restaurant offers really good and has fantastic ambience. Even though we went on weekday but it seems that have really good entertainment like DJ and band. Staff were polite.

We ordered mango mochi, hakka noddle, garlic fried rice, kung pao chicken, sticky lotus, sui mai. Everything was tasty and seemed to be authentic oriental food.

Only drawback was that the they served everything very slowly.

I will suggest this place if you are looking for something new.

Food: 8/10
Service: 9/10
Ambience: 9/10

Head here for finger-licking (chopstick-licking?) authentic Chinese food!

The place is pleasantly lit and framed with an amazing 10th storey view. The shades of blue run along the interiors and the decor, which makes it even more soothing. They also have Live-Music on Saturdays!

They have 2 bars, one of which is an exclusive ‘Gin bar’ with specially infused gin. Don’t forget to try the ‘Apple pie’ - infused with apple and cinnamon , ‘what a beach’ - infused with pineapple and coconut & the unnamed cucumber and chilly. (Mind you, these are very potent! 😛)
There are a variety of cocktails that the barmen make with these infused gin which are absolutely delicious.

The Food menu has a wide variety of items in all the courses. The presentation is amazing and the staff is very courteous.

The dessert menu is no less it has carefully curated items that range from Darsan to (the must try) Mochi Icecream!

Overall, an enjoyable experience which is best shared with friends and family! 😋

I was staying at the hotel and thought to give Ging a try. I loved the food. Really amazing. I think one this was one of the best places to eat pan Asian. And since this is rooftop, the whole experience is even more delightful. I'll definitely visit this place again when I am in Bangalore next!

Ging is a oriental restaurant on 10th floor of Royal Orchid Central, Manipal centre.they got a dedicated gin bar also with so many Gin infusions. I had their home made Apple pie Gin.it was amazing with broccoli and cashew nut dimsum and Thai style garlic prawns. On the top of all chocolate n chocolate was the best as dessert.
Highly recommended for those who are looking to chill with friends over drinks , music and good oriental food on a rooftop with a great view.

The place was sooo peaceful.. the look was so Asian.. service was good staff was very friendly the drink i ordered was just amazing but i didn't like the mushroom sticky rice.. must hav tried something else instead overall for the look feel and taste givin it a 4 star....

Nice place but duck served was not fresh.
Chef came out and said it was two days old!
How is this possible in a 4 star hotel??

And then no complimentary food

Visited Ging for a lazy Sunday afternoon and lunch and the place was surprisingly empty. The ambience was quite with niche interiors and a nice view. Coming to the food, was a bit dissapointing that few of the items on the menu was not available. The crispy lamb strips and the crispy corn cakes were the best of the lot for the starters. The mocktails were well prepared but the beer prices are a bit on the higher side. The Emperor's fried rice was a downer in the menu as it lacked that taste and X factor for a Chinese dish. Service was a bit relaxed maybe due to the less number of guests.
Ambience-4/5
Food-3.5/5
Service-3.5/5
Value for money- 3.5/5

Overall 3.5 stars
It was a great experience. I went in with high hopes and Ging didn’t disappoint. Excellent food, great service and amazing ambiance. The chef came over and checked at the end, and have to say that all the preparations were top-notch.

We ordered garlic burnt seafood fried rice, chicken hakka noodles, tangra chicken chilly, and a couple of chicken and lamb starters. We loved each of them.

Highly recommended for a special evening.

Ging is located at 10th Floor of the Hotel and provides casual dining experience for family and friends. Ambiance is colorful and inviting, with beautiful view of the Bangalore City. One must try Prawn Har Gau,,red 🌶 chicken, Hot & Spicy Pan Fried Noodles with Chicken and Assorted Mochi in dessert.

At Ging, the view first blows your mind. And then, the food and friendly service continue the feeling!

What used to be one of my favourite restaurants over a decade ago (Paparazzi) has become Ging. Like Paparazzi, the sweeping views of Bangalore in Ging, that include Ulsoor lake and a lot of trees with buildings between always make me sentimental about my beautiful (what’s left of it) City and the neighborhood I grew up in. After a few moments of emotional catching up, it was time to eat.

First came the two soups, the veg versions of Tom Yum and Laksa. Both were very good. Then came the Vegetable Shanghai Dumplings, with crunchy water chestnuts inside. I ordered the Som Tum, which was superb! Loved the mélange of sweet, sour & spice of this salad. The last appetizer was Tofu stuffed with vegetables, which was nice.

For the main course, I had the Burnt Garlic Fried Rice and my favourite, Eggplant in Hot Sauce. The former was not very good, the latter was excellent! The fried rice was very bland, and didn’t have much of a garlic flavour to it. The Eggplant came on a sizzling tray, with sauce on the side. Crispy on the outside with a soft centre, it is definitely my favourite dish at Ging! After all this, there was no room for dessert which has been left for the next visit.

What works here are excellent views, very good food, superb service and reasonable prices. A few items need work, others no complaints. Thanks to our waiter Young for his recommendations and super too. Ging is then, a Bangalorean Star.

This HAS to be one for the finest dine places I've visited in Bangalore. I had never heard of it when I first went there but went there purely based on Zomato reviews and the pictures. The place has a stunning view. If I recollect it was at the 14th floor, which gives you a great view of the greenery around the MG road area. While going up, I had observed that they have won many awards. I usually don't give too much weightage to such awards but boy I wasn't disappointed. I liked every dish I tried here. I would definitely recommend Broccoli manchurian (even if you hate Broccoli). Skewed together, they were almost perfect. There seasonal fruit flavoured japanese ice mochi cream was great too. I wish I had a bigger stomach to try more than 4 dishes which I did. A must visit place if you want to try some Asian food or want to go on a date with a special someone.

Yesterday we visited this place. The place is in 10th floor,so view was really nice.It was windy,if u ask them they put transparent curtain.service was good.we order sticky pork chops, Americans chopsey, pan fried noodles prawn and beers.sticky pork was good bit on the sweeter side.both the noodles were tasty.we had good times.hassle free zomato gold service.

This restaurant is absolutely beautiful and perfect for dates. I love such ambience, and being on the 10th floor, the view is awesome!
Had been here when the anniversary special - Chinese menu was being served.

I started with a refreshing cocktail - , the ice could have been lesser but otherwise it was very refreshing.
The others praised the lemon and coriander soup so much, I had to try it so I finished a bowl full. A must have in this weather.

The starters - Chilli corn kernels, lotus stem were good, however what stood out for me was the carrot cake. I had an extra helping of this one.
The zuccini spring rolls and dimsums were quite decent too.

Main course was indeed the best, from chindian fried rice to star-anise rice(very flavorful and balanced) the mushroom curry went along really well. Don't miss the rice varieties whenever you're dining in here.

Dessert was Red velvet cheese cake, A gooey chocolate mud cake and some litchi pannacotta. Cheese cake could have been softer, the others were very good.

Cheers!
Vedshree (@littlefoodiegirl)

Ging is a Pan Asian restaurant which is part of the Royal Orchid Hotel, MG Road, Bangalore. The place is on the top floor and looks amazing from inside. Being at the top of the building you get to see some amazing skyline view of Bangalore. The ambiance is oriental with a large dragon welcoming the guests. In the evening the place transforms into a resto bar with DJ playing some amazing numbers.

This place opened about a year back in the heart of Bangalore and is still one of those places to go for a candle light dinner or something special. In the heart of the business district of bangalore this is a place which is like an oasis

As part of their first anniversary celebration they kept rotational menu to celebrate the different south east asian countries - so when went here , they had Japanese cuisine for that week.

The speciality of the following weeks are Chinese & Malay !!

I also liked the dining option at the sushi counter.

Also , there were 'special cocktail of the day' , available for the entire month where the 1st cocktail is just INR 1 , per table !! Cheers !!

P.S. there was a huge option available for vegetarian which amused me, as whenever it comes to Sushi , sas
himi etc we always think of fish, seafood etc, but here they had tofu, asparagus etc.
The UnClichéd
Ging is the Pan-Asian dining arm of the Royal Orchid Central, and is celebrating one year of running successfully. To celebrate, they have a month-long cocktail and food mélange, with 1 new cocktail every day for the entire month, and a new Asian cuisine every week for the whole month. It started off with Chinese, followed by Japanese and then Thai and Malay.

Located on the 10th Floor of the hotel, the restaurant offers spectacular panoramic views of the city and makes for a perfect place for a dinner date, and the various seating options ensure that large groups can be easily accommodated. The ambience is urban-chic, and the entrance via the stairs gives you a bird’s eye view of the whole place, which just sets the mood for a brilliant meal.

We were here on the weed where Chinese food was being showcased, and here are some items we liked:

Chicken Wonton Soup: A beautiful tangy soup with steamed wontons for company, this was a brilliant start to the meal.

Kung Pao Chicken: A dish synonymous of Chinese takeaway, this dish had all the goodness of the pepper and other spices, without the excess oil. Lovely interpretation. Liked it!

Turnip Cake: This Turnip (or carrot) cake at Ging was brilliant. Lovely soft center and slightly crisp shell, garnished with loads of fried garlic and paprika.

Crispy Shredded Lamb: This was a very unique preparation, and was crisp and tangy with just the right amount of sweetness. Brilliant dish!

Sweet and Sour Pork: As good as its name, the beautifully cooked pieces of pork were juicy and had some sweetness from pineapple and a hint of spice from chilis.

Roast Chicken and Chinindian Veg. Fried Rice: This combination went particularly well and the five-spice in the roast chicken added another dimension to this combination(both dishes are available separately)

Drinks: I liked their range of cocktails, and most of them are not too syrupy, which makes it even better. My favorites from their menu is the refreshing Cucumber Spritz(White Wine, gin and cucumber) and the Ging Negroni(Gin, vermouth, campari and soda). Also, none of them is watered down, and the drinks are well-balanced.

Dessert: The desserts here weren’t particularly good considering the excellent spread we had earlier. We did like the 'Chocolate & Chocolate': Dark Choco Fondant, Chocolate fried Ice-Cream and chocolate shavings. The Litchi panna-cotta wasn’t too impressive though and I would have liked the flavors toned down. The panna-cotta was just about okay.

Verdict: What works for Ging is its authentic food, beautiful ambience and good service. The desserts are a bit of a let down and the pricing is on the higher side, but Zomato Gold should sweeten the deal a bit.

This restaurant lacks service and food quality. Ordered a grilled duck and it was extremely chewy and unedible. However restaurant has a good view and possibily be good for small lunch and dinner. Menu is extremely limited.

I recently dined at Ging for dinner. Since it's their 1st Anniversary, they're celebrating by creating delectable delicacies from around the world. They are focusing on a different cuisine every week. It started off with Chinese, followed by Japanese, Thai and Malay.

During my visit, the chef created some wonderful Japanese dishes. There was an array of mouth watering Sushi. Since I don't eat seafood, I indulged in the vegetarian options. I particularly loved this one Vegetarian Sushi which had a delicious crunchy topping to it. I also tried their Chicken Satay and Corn Fritters.

For mains, it was Mushroom Hibachi Rice, Noodles with Vegetable Skewers which was quite nice.

Coming to dessert, I tried the Seasonal Mochi Ice-cream. Now, this was the first time I tried this Japanese ice-cream. Mochi is a Japanese rice cake made with glutinous rice flour and has a chewy and significantly powdery texture to it. The ice-cream isn't too sweet and is wrapped in a thin layer of Mochi.

Ging has a very authentic Asian feel to it. It's located on the 10th floor of the Royal Orchid Hotel, hence the view from here is spectacular. It's a ideal place for dinner or for a party with near and dear ones! So, if you're craving for Pan-Asian food with a view to accompany it, you know where to head to...

We read all the wonderful reviews about this place and decided to have a relaxed Saturday lunch here today . It coincided with their anniversary celebrations so they had a special Thai menu. Before I get to the food let me say the place is decorated well.. is welcoming and has fantastic views. We sat in the bar area which is partially open so we could enjoy the weather as well.
The drinks were fine because it was beer on tap.
The food on the other hand was terrible. I had a vegetarian set menu. The coconut mushroom soup was the saving grace. The spring rolls were not made of the usual thin rice paper but some glutinous thick inedible dough coated with copious amounts of oil. Not sure if they forgot to fry it. I asked for some chill oil and managed to eat one but had to waste the other. The filling was quite bad too.. it was raw veggies with no seasoning . The flat noodles and gravy were made with various sauces and didn't taste remotely Thai. Forget restaurants but I have had better Thai food on the streets. My husband had a set non veg meal. He couldn't drink his prawn soup. The grilled chicken and gravy was his saving grace. The noodles were equally bad. Apart from the taste their service was not up to the mark. We had to wait 40 minutes for the food and they brought everything together. So by the time we weren't half way through our soup the rest of the food was cold. On the plus side the staff were very apologetic for the wait and gave us a 10 percent discount but it doesn't make up for a bad meal. My advice is go for the view.. have a couple of beers and eat else where

Beautiful decor , friendly staff and great food! The pork ribs was one of the best I've eaten , chilly prawns was amazing , the spicy chicken dumplings was a let down! The fried rice and chilly chicken gravy was a great way to end the meal. Highly recommended.

This restaurant is located in royal Orchid central. It's hardly a km from the trinity metro station. It's located on the 10th floor of the royal Orchid central. The ambience is amazing. Perfect for a date night. You can go here with your family too. We ordered the veg noodles and all vegetables stir fry gravy. The food was scrumptious and tasted amazing. Food here is a perfect combination of healthy and tasty. We got 2 complementary sweet lime soda as well
Overall the place is a perfect dineout
The place is a little expensive since only two items costed us about 880/-
But its worth it.

Ging has been around for a year now and to celebrate this success they are having a monthly week based feast. With some weekly menu of cuisines all around the world and cocktail of the day, their celebrations are for sure in style.

*Ambience*
Ging gives a dinner with a view of Bangalore skyline with some great ambience and soft music accompained. It is located on the 10th level of Royal Orchid Hotel.

*Drinks*
Out of the drinks I tried, I definitely would recommend :
🔹Mandarin Rita - combining vodka with pulpy orange.
🔹Whiskey Sour - This was the most potent whiskey sour ever.

*Food*
With their Chinese menu week, we tried some delicious starters and main course. I would recommend the following :

🔹Crispy Corn - fried corn with lemongrass tinge
🔹Carrot Cake - a veggie lover dish. The cake was spicy and sweet at the same time.
🔹Kung Pao Chicken - Some sweet sour sauce with beautiful blend of flavours.
🔹Prawn Dumplings - Some juicy prawns blended with mild flavours.

For the main course,
🔹Roasted Chicken with peanut sauce went beautifully with the herbed rice.
🔹The Penang Prawn was the star dish with steamed prawns and a finger licking sauce with sliced almonds.

*Desserts*
Desserts for sure was not the best, but the litchi Panna Cotta was quite subtle and can be tried.

*Service*
The place has well trained and groomed staff, just a little laid back with cocktails.

You are sure to have a fine dine experience with a vast menu and variety.
Good news for all Pan Asian lovers. It's been a year to Ging and they have some truly appetizing menu curated for the guests for the entire month.
▫️▫️▫️▫️
Located on the tenth level of Royal Orchid Hotel in MG Road, Ging offers a spectacular view of the city along with a soothing ambience. My dinner here with my foodie gang, yesterday, was extraordinary.
▫️▫️▫️▫️
They have 30 different cocktails for 30days of the month and we tried almost 5-6 from the menu. The cocktail of the day, Fantasea, was quite fantastic. It had vodka blended with fanta. Apart from this, I would also recommend Mandarin Rita and Whisky Sour which were truly impressive.
▫️▫️▫️▫️
The starters were scrumptious. Kung Pao Chicken and Crispy corn were my favourite. In addition to that, Zucchini rolls and shredded lamb were equally delectable.
Among the dumplings, the veg mandarin dumplings with pomegranate seeds garnished on top deserve a special mention.
▫️▫️▫️▫️
From the main course, Herbed rice went perfectly with the Okra and prawns. The prawns gravy was remarkable. Also the mushroom was delicious. Roasted Chicken and corn-potato mix dish were delightful as well.
▫️▫️▫️▫️
Desserts were good but the Ricotta cheesecake and the chocolate cake felt a bit hard. The consistency need to be looked at. The litchi panna cotta was quite palatable.
▫️▫️▫️▫️
With a lovely decor and marvelous ambience, this place is not to be missed. Cheers to the entire team!!
Located on the 10th floor of the Royal Orchid Central hotel, Ging Oriental kitchen, the ultimate fine dine place celebrates its 1 year anniversary this September. Along with expertise in pan Asian cuisine, Ging also furnishes its patrons a unique dining ambience with city and lake view.

AMBIENCE
We enter the place through a lit floorway finally leading to another lit stairway. Beautiful mirrors and chandeliers grace the place with a royal look. A wall graffiti of a Japanese dragon made entirely with painted plates is a visual delight. Seating is couch as well as cushion base chair based. There is a sauce cum kitchen bar, regular but beautiful bar and a dj console area separately located.

FOOD and DRINKS
There is always a special drink of the day, and o got to try the unique
°FANTAsea° made with a vodka base and Fanta poured in it, presented beautifully.

°Ginger cosmopolitan° was another vodka based cocktail with hints of ginger and lime and main cranberry juice.

°Mandarin Rita° was an interesting orange based cocktail with pulp inside and vodka as the base liquor.

°Whisky sour° was beautifully prepared, really admired it's balanced flavors.

°Dimsum°
Vegetarian mandarin dumpling
This pomegranate topped dumpling had nicely minced pumpkin-papaya stuffing, well flavored with orange juice.
Chicken Black bean had mouthful of chicken stuffed in purple coloured dimsums, very decent in taste and fresh in appeal.

°Chicken wonton soup°
This was one of my favourite takeaway from here. Chicken had the soft wonton cover and not the fried one in the excellently prepared chilli peppery soup.

°Crispy corn° here were in attached form with Kaffir lime as the major flavor.
°Crisp lotus with black pepper and curry leaf were amazing, crispy and less oily from Out and soft from inside.

°Zucchini spring roll°
I loved these spring rolls so much, had to go for another plate. Minced zucchini was wrapped in soft yet crispy cover and served with sweet chilli sauce.

°Kung pao chicken°
Excellent red colour with pepper chilli and curry leaves , this was a delicious preparation and had capsicum and cashews mixed to make the experience even better.

°Mains and sides°
Roast chicken was beautifully roared and had peanut five spice sauce.
In veg, spicy aubergine and okra dish had chilli oil oyster sauce with a peppery touch trio of mushroom had a sober broth sauce, having shiitake, black fungus and button mushrooms.
The corn and potato mix was very succulent, having dry chilli and hoison sauce.
Lo mei noodles were prepared well and weren't sticky, lee-fu fried rice was excellent and could be had without any gravy.

°Dessert°
My favourite would be lichi Panna cotta and ricotta baked cheesecake.

SERVICE and COSTING
Place is Medium expensive, has well tarined and groomed staff. Know all the fine dine etiquettes and ensured us a great culinary experience.

This is a place to find authentic and delicious Chinese cuisine. I had drums of heaven which was kinda besteva and red chilli chicken. Ambience is also good if you get to sit outdoor and it's on 10th floor of hotel royal orchid.

Had a lovely time here. Tasty food that didnt have overwhelming flavours and a very different version of old fashioned cocktail. A splendid view to boot.

Edit: visited this hotel once again and the service was impeccable. The dimsums were great, especially mushroom and sticky rice one. The drinks were really good too. They even gave us complementary starters coz our food was delayed. The chocolate on chocolate was amazing! However the creme brulee could be improved. Ambience was beautiful. Can't wait to visit again!

Visited this restaurant with my husband ,the reception was quite good with courteous staff . Was seated at a table with a very nice view of Bangalore ambience was definitely good . Coming to the food it was downright bad can definitely be rated as one of the not so good places to have food at ,ordered a dimpsum and coke flavoured chicken which was unpalatable bad mocktail which we ordered also didn't taste so nice only saving grace being the burnt garlic rice was descent . I wouldn't recommend this place at all for the food but the ambience and view is good . Go at your own risk .
Cam
This venue is a gem. Every time I eat and drink here the service is fantastic and food is first class. Lynda the host is very hospitable and couldn’t help me enough. Keep up the great work guys!

After researching so much about some restuarant with a great view and food finally we zeroed it on to this particular place . We went there on our anniversary for lunch with a lot of apprehension but as soon as we entered the place we knew it that our day is going to be great. Firstly the decor then the view and finally the food all this made our day even more special. I would highly recommend this place to those who want to spend some quality time with their loved ones... Far from the madding crowd. Thanks a lot team GING.

If you plan it here plan with some lovely friends who are comfortable with smoking, and amazing music. This place talks all about its authentic food, beautiful view and music.
Food starters we started with the dimsums, don't really remember the names but one was spicy chicken in which the base was actually made of species and other was the prawns dimsums really light and tasty.
Soup we ordered miso soup, which apparently didn't turned out as we thought it to be but still give it as maybe it had to taste that way and it was totally veg but the liquid tasted more like prawn paste. Unsure about the rest.

Main course we ordered their signature chicken with garlic rice which was thick peanut gravy with a sunny side up egg. Tastes pretty well.

Desserts
As it was one of the friend's birthday we had requested for the cake. Which they gave was complimentary. Mango dressing over the cake was yum. Apart from this we ordered the chocolate ball desserts and creme brulee. This one was very basic but again fresh so tasted well.

Overall

View - 4/5
Location - 3/5 (a bit difficult to find the place)
Food - 4/5 (authentic food)
Service -3.5/5
Ambience - 4.5/5
Music - 4/5

Will suggest them to have more options for desserts but rest everything. Was authentic and good.

After lots of discussion for a good Chinese restaurant in CBD my husband and I ended up here.. very neat and differently made.. the ambience was amazing.. we were told the outside seating is amazing with the view and being on the 10th floor we could imagine.. but it was closed due to a renovation and will be open in a week.. we ordered the manchow soup which was delicious.. the Hong Kong chicken and the spicy chicken dumplings were also amazing...I would highly recommend the chinidian fried rice..It was definitely something different.. will definitely be back here for the outside seating and the food.. :)

Recently had my dinner during a trip to Blr. Actually I landed in this restaurant as I reached my hotel late in night and didn't want to go anywhere out. This a restaurant on top floor (10th) of the hotel with indoor and semi outdoor space. This makes it very special in Blr weather. The restaurant plays good music and thus doesn't give you a feeling of being alone. The food was really good though probably portions are small (good for 1 person). I ordered red chilli chicken and fried rice with sea food. Both were too good (or may be I was too hungry). The staff was really kind and tool care of me well. And yes, the place is Zomato Gold. So light on the pocket. Will highly recommend this place if you want to have good Chienese food, good drinks and in nice ambience.

I was in touch with Mr Percy for a booking for a big family dinner. Right from coordinating for the table on the phone till the time we left from the restaurant, his service has been nothing short of impeccable.

The ambience and the vibe of the place is lively and they have a DJ that just sets the mood with his choice of music. For a romantic dinner or a family get together, this place is perfect. They also have a seating on the balcony to enjoy the beautiful Bangalore weather.

All the food we ordered was personally recommended by Mr Percy and I must say, we absolutely relished it. The taste is very authentic. Must try the dim sums, tom yum soup, chicken dry appetisers, crispy lamb and the phad Thai.

Overall a pleasurable dining experience and incredible service and food. Will definitely revisit the place :)

This was a great find on Zomato Gold! The view is pretty good, the place itself is fairly nice, they accept Zomato gold, the service is great, but the food could be better.

The dim sum was flashy, but didn’t taste great, and the mushroom skewer was just okay.

They have great happy hours offers (upto 9PM!!)

Thanks for such a great time. The food was brilliant and ambience/ view made it even better. We had lotus stem, turnip cake, pork ribs, roasted chicken and so much more . Everything tasted amazing. Must try cinnamon bun apple pie.
Mr. Percy was a great host!
Ging is a beautifully located and well-appointed restaurant with huge potential, which is unfortunately let down by the quality of its wait staff. It is on the 10th floor, and it has a commanding view of the Ulsoor Lake from certain tables in the outdoor seating. The tables in the covered seating area have a good view of MG Road and the greenery near Aga Abas Ali Road.

The price point is quite reasonable. However, the service levels are not up to the mark for a restaurant within a hotel. Starting with the hotel, the valet service was not available upon arriving at the porch, even though a valet is advertised as being available. Coming to the restaurant, the staff are unaware of the contents of the menu and the ingredients of the dishes. They are unable to make useful suggestions regarding what to order. The food comes in spurts and not in one go, even though we were the only table being served when we ate at the restaurant. The Sweet & Sour Pork had more fat than meat, although the preparation, by itself, was good. The Braised Chicken with Oyster Sauce and broccoli is good. All in all, a mixed bag of an experience. I have been told that the dimsums are worth trying, which I did not try, but will be back to, hopefully during their happy hours.
