Review The Konkan - Bengaluru

Girish L
Great place for Coastal mangalore cuisine! The white pomfret fish fry seems to have left a positive impression. Combining Neer dosa with prawn ghee roast sounds like a delightful choice, offering a blend of coastal flavors. Additionally, the boiled rice paired with silver fish curry adds a diverse touch to the meal. Overall, it seems like a satisfying culinary experience with a range of well-prepared seafood dishes.

Succulent with just the right amount of bite, *butter garlic prawns* are perfect here. *Prawn tawa fry* however was a total disappointment. The intense red masala coating was tasteless and spicy. Masala should be more than just red chilli powder! Place is small but the ambience is pleasant. Staff is helpful and service was quick. Will return to try other dishes.

The best place to have the best Mangalorean flavour. The must try is Chicken Pepper Fry with Parotta. The vibe is so calm and wonderful.

This place serves the best Manglorean cuisine in Bangalore. Delicious food & Good vibes of Manglorean & Goan songs.

The food was super fresh, a total go-to for seafood lovers. You gotta try the squid butter garlic . And, the caramel custard was just 😋.

This place is amazing. Prawns are soft, Fish is also soft and easy to eat. Lots of variety too. Service is blazing fast. You will get your meal back to back to back. Atmosphere is also nice. Very clean and nice. The put a paper sheet and coasters on the tables so that you can’t make a big mess. Very nice staff.

Well cooked food, pricy dishes but a must try if you are a fish and sea food lover. The ambience has a rustic old school charm, good for family and friends catchup. The butter garlic prawns and the Rawa Pompfret were extremely well cooked. The Kokum is a must try for sure!

We hopped into the Konkan searching for (hopefully) goan food, and while we may not have gotten goan food, we were pleasantly surprised by the brilliant manglorean dishes (and fishes) there. There is an overlap of the goan cuisine and the manglorean cuisine, and that definitely played in our favour while placing the order. But our experience was enhanced ten-fold by the examplary aid of Shivprasad, who walked us through the dishes we chose, and helped us find the best pairings! We ordered prawn ghee roast, neer dosa( and went back for seconds!), bangda ambot tik and rice. The fish was succulent, and super fresh. The dose were warm, soft and perfect. Ended our meal with a glass of delicious and authentic sol kadi! The Konkan is an amazing manglorean restaurant on the corner of church street - and a must try for fresh sea food ( and great service!)

We had ordered 1. Chicken pepper dry- definitely yummy 2. Prawn ghee roast- was fairly okay, I have had better 3. Surmai fish curry- was good 4. Kerala porotta- was yummiest of all Ended the meal with a glass of sol kadhi, which was refreshing. This place is quite good and definitely worth a visit if you are near church Street/ mg road

We went there for a weekend lunch. Things to keep in mind- Meals are available only on weekdays. You need to order dishes separately on the weekends. Try the seafood here, won’t disappoint. Prawn ghee roast is a must try. Check with the staff on the quantity before ordering-like when you order for chapati, you’ll get 2 chapatis when you ask for 1 , the assumption is 1 plate, which gets you 2 chapatis. Ambience is lovely, with a good selection of songs being played , not too noisy.

Ambience- 4 of 5 Services- 5 of 5 Starters- 5 of 5 Main course- 5 of 5 Desserts- did not try Drinks- 4 of 5 Value for money- 5 of 5 Overall satisfaction- 5 of 5 As the name goes Konkan is restaurant having Konkan / costal Karnataka cusine. It's placed right above KC das on St. Mark's road. Restaurant ambience is good with the staffs being cordial. Starters we tried chef special bangada and prawn ghee roast. These dishes were fantastic and the flavours were amazing. These dishes are highly recommended for sea food lovers. We also ordered sole kadi which for me was a little lighter than what I have had elsewhere. However the flavour was good and tasty. For main course we ordered Ambot curry with Kane in it. We had this curry with Panpole and Pundi which complemented it really well. And this is the traditional Konkan dish. A must try. Overall a must go-to restaurant for seafood lovers.

Good food, good service, decent ambience for family. In all would recommend for some konkan style food. Ghee roast and fish masala along with neer dosa and mutton gravy. Favourite would be egg ghee roast. Tried ragi mani but didnt like it as much.. it was more powdery kinds and not how it's generally cooked

Chicken Sukka Good Prawn Ghee Roast Good Konkan Fish Curry Good Masala Fry Seer Fish Good Ghee Rice Average Neer Dosa Good Chicken Ghee Roast Good Carmel Custard Average Coconut Pudding Average 2 waiters struggling and hence the service is delayed. Order a take a seat at while starting to eat and it came 15 mins after we finished and paid the bill

Awesome place for seafood in Bangalore. Would surely recommend. Very fresh fish/prawns/squids/crab compared to any other seafood restaurants I have eaten. Nice ambience and music.. Must try is Squid Butter Garlic. Other favorites are mutton pepper fry and pomfret tawa fry.. Best main course I had was Kerala parota with chicken roce curry.. Vibrant and non spicy red masala base was too good and mild. Try Raagi Manni for desserts. One suggestion for Chicken Ghee Roast, it needs a little more roasting..

Great place for Coastal mangalore cuisine...Well curated menu and also has some great choice non sea items. Loved the prawn preparations perfect cooked as required and juicy. Infact I also ordered home for a large gathering and suggestions from Neil was to perfection. Prawn Pulao, Chicken ghee roast was loved by the guest. Great place to jam up with family and friends and the only complain is he doesn't serve liquor.

I have been a regular customer of Konkan for a very long time. Me being born and brought up in the Mangalore belt makes me crave for some authentic seafood and Konkan does fulfill my requirements completely. Area & Parking : Church Street , above KC Das, ample parking space in the surroundings. Interiors : Sober and soothing with light music. Definitely a mood lifter. Food : I tried mainly the Mangalorean food dishes like Neerdosa, chicken curry , prawns and fish tawa fry. The taste of every dish was as close as you get in a Mangalore household. The Solkadi was good. Caramel Custard was mild on the sweet with beautiful jelly like consistency. 5 out of 5 for the food here. Covid Scenario : All the staff was wearing masks, gloves and their negative covid test results were displayed. The table was tidy with clean and neat plates and cutlery. There are very few places here in Bangalore where you get authentic Mangalore food. I'd keep Konkan on top of that list anyday. Not because they specialise in Coastal Cuisine but they have been able to maintain the same taste and quality for all these years. A Must visit here.

A perfect place to enjoy good coastal food in the heart of the city while enjoying some peppy goan music over the speakers. The options available are great from fish, chicken and veg, so there is something for everyone. 😊

The Konkan will take you all the way to Goa (well minus the chilled beer and the sound of waves) through your taste buds. We visited the place yesterday for late lunch after reserving a table for 5 on Dineout. The restaurant is at the corner of the Church Street opposite Hard Rock Cafe hence could be easily located from the main road. The restaurant closes at 3pm and reopens in the eve for dinner. Quite a simple yet cozy set up to dine in with typical Goan music in the background. From the wide variety of menu options we opted for Squid butter fry, Pork chilli for snacks and Pomfret with green curry and Surmai rava fry from the catch of the day. All the snack items were cooked to perfection with the meat so tender and flavourful. For the main course, we had Surmai Konkan curry, Prawn curry, Kerala Parotha and steamed rice. While the prawn curry was slightly spicy (not advisable for kids) , the fish curry was delicately flavoured, but both tasted good. The service was well timed and efficient. Overall, it was a good dining experience and it's a place to come back for Goan food.

Quality and Tasty Konkan food served here. Seafood is the Best option.

Really happy we chose this place to celebrate a birthday. The seafood is really fresh, spice levels just perfect! One of the few coastal speciality restaurants with a good variety of options for vegetarians as well. Decor has a very authentic old Bangalore feel :) Kudos to the friendly staff too!
Usha V
Very homey, great food and hospitality!
The smoothest ghee roast I've had (in terms of texture)
Enjoyed the crab ghee roast😋 but the squid chilli could've been a little less garlicky.
A very pleasant dining experience, would definitely visit again! :)
Maryann
I had visited this restaurant today and it was worth every bite. The fish was well cooked and crispy. Not too deep fried yet not too raw. The perfect balance. The Staff was very friendly and helped achieve whatever we asked for.
The only thing that needed to improve was the price quantity ratio. We had to order more to satisfy our hunger. Other than that, it was spectacular.
Debolina Ray (sheknowsgrub.com)
So it's rare that I don't have food photos of a place. But it is probably also a testament to two things - 1) How hungry I was 2) How great the food was. Yes, both these conditions need to be true for me not to have ANY photos of the food! But I think I can describe it just as well. Now that we have established this place has good food, let me get straight down to recommendations:

1. Prawn Ghee Roast - hands down the best in the city right now. The quality of prawn is excellent, and the masala is home made - so while it's rich and yummy, it's easy on the stomach. Have this with neer dosa, and you're sorted.
Tip: On Thursdays, they have a Buy 1- Get 1 on prawn dishes.

2. Tawa Fry and Masala Fry (of available fish) - The catches are fresh, and this is a usual order for us, safe and good.

3. Prawn Ambotic Thic - A konkan special sour and tangy curry, I like this with red rice.

4. Pork Bafat - it's a Mangalorean catholic prep, and can be eaten stand alone or with sanna.

5. Mangalorean Egg Chili - you'd think what's special about it, but this is totally delicious.

Great food, great offers and great service. Thumbs up!

Ambience is great and good crowd. Co-ooerative staff. Yerlio fish wasn't fresh but prawns items were really good. Must try their Prawns ambotic curry along with the kokum juice. Good place for some simple konkani food. Satisfies your sea food cravings.
Rajat Halarnkar
Nice location near church street. Restaurant has good variety of coastal dishes. Rava fried prawns were really good. Ambot tikh prawns curry is good. Prices are a bit on expensive side but worth a try if you love seafood.

This place serves mangalorean food. The ambience is simple.
Food: we ordered chicken Kundapura, chicken stew, appam, prawns and fish fry.
The appams were so soft and crispy, the fish fry was also good and had a very homely taste. The prawns were ok.
Chicken stew was not good at all and chicken Kundapura was average.
Staff: very kind and helpful
Ladu Tandel
I have to this place recently and loved the taste of fish prepared with mangalorean style. Kundapur chicken was the best among all. Ambience is very pleasant. Only thing that can be improved is service time. Definitely looking forward for lobsters.
AJOY MENON
Great restaurant to satisfy your Mangalorean food cravings 😄😄 The sea food is fresh and to die for 👌🏻 all you chicken lovers the chicken Uruwal is a must try and for a perfect sweet ending the ragi manni 🙌🏻 Go check these guys out I promise you won’t regret it 😎

'The Konkan-Seafood restaurant' in Church street serves one of the best coastal dishes in the city. With a cozy ambiance and hospitable staff, and a view of the bustling streets of Church street, this place gives you a perfect afternoon feel to feast on.

We went there on a Saturday afternoon. For appetizers, we ordered the Surmai green masala and Coorgi Pork with Neer Dosa as accompaniments. The taste of the Surmai was indescribable. Quite rarely have I tasted a fish so well cooked. A tangy flavor of the lemon juice and a perfect marination of coriander leaves, this slow cooked fish fry just melts in your mouth.

The Coorgi Pork again was perfect, especially in this monsoon. Decadent, slightly spicy pork pieces with just the right amount of chewy. This is a lip smacking dish I recommend everyone to try out.

For the main course, we had the Kundapur chicken with a side of boiled rice. From the land where the chicken ghee roast has originated, Kundapur chicken did not fail to marvel us. Cooked in a variety of spices with ground coconut in the gravy was a delightful combination with the boiled rice. And I suggest you let go of the spoon and taste this delicious meal with your bare hands. It takes you on a ride back to the essence of ethnic Konkani/ Mangalorean tribes.

We also had the Kokum juice as beverage. It was quite an refreshing drink to go with the entire set of meal.

All in all, albeit a bit pricey, Konkan is a place I'd definitely wish to visit twice especially to taste their varied range of fish fries again.

Had been to the restaurant on a sunday evening for dinner with Family.Ordered the Chicken ghee roast along with paneer ghee roast and squid fry for starters. Excellent taste. Ordered neer dosa and appams along with a chicken gravy. Food was excellent. Surprisingly the restaurant was empty on a Sunday night. Maybe they get crowd on weekdays.

Another paradise for coastal food. Ambience is great. Pescatarian would love this place as they get many options. Pomfret tava fry must try. The price also reasonable and good place to hang out with coastal friendly and family 😍

Our go to place when it comes to manglorean cuisine. Probably the best solkhadi that i have ever tasted. I wouldn't specifically write or mention about one or two of their dishes but whatever we have ordered and tried has been to perfection be it the kane masala fry, anjal masala fry etc. The Konkan is probably one of the best restaurants in town when it comes to south canara coastal cuisine.

Small cosy place, with a very sweet & simple konkani menu. Cudnt been at a better location this seafood speciality place remains a bit pricy, dishes out well presented delicacies. The only thing shortfall is of the portions of dishes, 1/2 of what's expected (sample snap attached :) Improvement needed here

This was my 4-5 visit and I shall keep going back..

In love with the pork dishes, but a bigger fan of their fish fries.

Although, have tasted better neer dosas and would request the restaurant to look into it..

Lovely ambience. Very good service.

Being a seafood lover, I have been literally hunting for a place that can serve good konkan spice flavoured seafood. Fortunately, my hunt is over I have finally found a place after 2 years. The Kokan serves mouth watering seafood. We ordered Bangda(Mackerel) and Pomfret rawa fry 😍 along with Clam sukha and Prawn curry. The preparation was just what I was craving for. The fish rawa fry was crispy from outside and tender from inside just the way it should be ! The prawn curry was also yummy and the dish of the day was clams sukha they spicy tender grated coconut was just perfect to accompany rice and prawn curry. All in all it was superb food and I would suggest if you are a seafood lover you should definitely visit this place. Over and above the good food and courteous staff, what else can I ask for Sunday lunch 😍😋.

Suggestion: Please serve seafood thali over weekend too :P

The Konkan
This is a nice mangalorean restaurant on church street, prices slight above average

Cuisine mangalorean
No bar
Recommended for family and friends.

Food 5/5
Ambience 4/5
Service 4/5
Price 4/5

Dishes tried
Fish and chicken thali:
Since we were two people we decided two order thalis/meals, each covering a variety of dishes. All dishes in the Thali were cooked to perfection. I loved the brown rice and chicken curry. Being a shetty myself it took me back to my younger days eating this dish at home. Loved the rice kheer as well. Tomato Rasam was also very nice. The texture of chicken also was similar to typical mangalorean neither too soft nor too hard

Will definitely visit again if I am in the mood of mangalorean food
If you are a sea food lover then this is a MUST visit place. I swear you will love the food. Me and my boyfriend are a big coastal food lovers, so decided to visit this place. We were very happy and content after having the food. We ordered Chicken urralu, neer dose, coorg style pork, chicken pulimunchu, fish tawa fry and mixed fruit pudding. Everything was awsomeee. I highly recommend this place to all the coastal cuisine lovers.

This place came as a pleasant surprise when I had no expectations. Their prawn ghee-roast is the best I've tasted so far in any restaurant. So much so that it made me visit the restaurant again after a few days. Their seafood is very fresh - the freshness of the pomfret was something that I get to taste only in Mangalore side. Perfect ambience for a good family dining.

We went there on a Friday evening with a reservation, but in any case there were enough tables available. It’s a nice laid back restaurant in the heart of the city at the corner of church street and st marks road. The mixed seafood platter was excellent with a nice variety of fish (surmai, pomfret, kane), squids, prawns, crabs. We had also ordered prawn ghee roast and pomfret rava fry separately, which also turned out to be super tasty. The main course with neer dosa and kane konkan fish curry was a perfect 10/10. Highly recommend this restaurant bengaluru!

Visited for a Saturday lunch and they do not serve thali on weekends. This small restaurant in at the intersection of St Marks road and Church street just few steps away from Anil Kumble circle on MG Road.
Ordered Surmai rava fry, neer dosa, prawn curry, chapati, steamed rice and Sol kadi.
While eating prawn cure I realized there was vein left in the tail and this may cause health issues. Complained this to the manager. De-veining prawn is very important for those who are not aware. Curry tasted good, I would give 3* just because of the vein.
Surmai rava fry was awesome, fish tasted fresh with adequate spice and not oily.
Sol kadi was nice and refreshing.
Neer dosa(ghavan in Konkani) was bit chewy, this should have been better.
Overall a worth visit apart from prawn experience.

For a change had vegetarian food at this seafood restaurant.. surprisingly the vegetarian fare was good to taste which is usually unheard in a seafood restaurant.. I plan to come here again sometime for trying out their seafood, which my friends say is awesome

The food at Konkan restaurant was very good . They serve authentic mangalore fish curry , neer dosa and chicken starters etc . We really enjoyed the food .

Have tasted the yummiest crab ghee roast of my life at The Konkan!! 😄😄😄 Visited with my sisters one of whom tried it for the first time ever and has become a fan. Recommend it for the tastiest sea food with minimalistic ambience and peaceful lunch or dinner with family.

Went there on a Saturday afternoon. Small neat place in St marks road just above k.c das.
Their menu has huge varieties of sea food to choose from.
We ordered squid ghee roast, neer dosa, chicken kundapur, surmai Rawa fry. Their squid ghee roast was just awesome.
I have had authentic kundapur chicken in Mangalore before so was craving for this in bangalore...but the kundapur chicken here was disappointing.
Surmai Rawa fry was good.
A special mention to their Kala Khatta drink. Too good😍 the perfect summer drink.
Service is good.
Price is cheap. We ordered so many items still our bill came out be just 1300bucks. 😀😀
A hidden gem in the heart of Bengaluru for Mangalore Costal cuisine. Their Sol Kadi, prawn ghee roast and tawa fried fish were excellent. Given that most seafood speciality restaurants in bangalore seem to be overpriced, this one does not break the bank. Their thali is excellent value as well.
Padmaja Gowda
It’s a Konkan based seafood restaurant. People who miss coastal food, must visit this place.
I’d say this is the best seafood I’ve had in Bangalore so far.
The ambiance of this place isn’t great, it’s simple and nice.
We ordered neer dosa, chicken ghee roast, fish thali and King fish fry. The neer dosa was Smooth and perfectly cooked. The chicken ghee roast had the proper amount of ghee and spices. The balance between the two was properly maintained. The fish fry was the best. I’d recommend tawa fried king fish. It’s a must try here.
We ordered buttermilk and it was the authentic manglorean buttermilk.
The staff here is very polite and friendly. Mr. Buddha Dev was our waiter and he was a really sweet person.
I’m going back here for sure. ✔️

If you are a costal and mangalorean food lover, this is one of the places to visit. They have a simple menu which pretty much covers the well known costal dishes. The mangalore style chicken curry and chicken sukka were up the mark and tasted exactly as mangalore style.

The food is served hot and fresh. The bangade Tawa fry was really tasty.
All the seafood lovers do check out this place.

This place brought tears to my eyes, yes the food is that good! If you close your eyes and forgot where you were, you'd easily be mistaken to think you are eating in Mangalore's Giri Manjas or Machali.

We ordered Anjali (surmai) tawa fry and Anjali tawa fry! Bought of these were heavenly. Now I'm from the Konkan coast myself and used to eating fish that's brought fresh off the boat, so I'm generally apprehensive about the seafood in Bangalore as it may not be fresh. However, nothing to worry in here, fish was fresh and heavenly.

We then proceeded to have pomfret green masala and need dosa and both of them were also delicious.

Then came the show stopper, the coconut rice and Kane ambotik, I literally drooled looking at the food.

The gravy was on point and would have made my granny proud. The coconut rice is a must have!!!

And last but not the least, I came into this restaurant with one thought in my mind, wondering if ever I got my mom here would she say I could do better at home and why am I splurging outside??

That question was well answered by the end of the night! Even my mom would have probably had huge smile on her face post the food here, I though was grinning from ear to ear!

Guys in Bangalore, missing kodial/ kudla/ mangluru fish delicacies head out here, this one is must visit!

I would have posted some pics: but as soon as the food came I melted and devoured it up!

We are the last customer but the service was as good as the 1st customer, very good service and food. The best food that I had... In love with Mangalore food again and again... fish masala fry and crab masala. prawn ghee roast...tooo good happy tummy

A must visit for an amazing sea food Mangalorean cuisine. Prawns Ghee roast and Pomfret tawa fry are to die for. I would definitely recommend everybody to drop by and relish the explicit coastal delicacies. Incredible service, well organized. Home away from home, without a doubt this has to be a must visit place for any sea food lover.
BobbYourUncle
Seems to be a nice place - only got to know about it because they followed me on Zomato!! Friday’s were traditionally seafood/vegetarian days. So the choice was simple. And Anupam’s Coast II Coast had shifted.
Let’s start with the mocktails - the water melon and the litchi based drinks were tasty but I don’t like it when they load it with ice (a CCD routine). The Kane Fish Rava Fry was a little disappointing - the masala/spice hadn’t permeated all the layers. But the Seer Fish Ambo Thik was superb. Went well with both the neer dosa and the Kerala parota.
Must try their other Mangalorean specialties but until then it’s going to be a 3.
Riyanka
Simple, nice place with great food and friendly staff. A good place for yummy seafood and the staff helped us to order their speciality and we enjoyed all of them. Ghee bhuna prawn, pomfret fry, dosa, prawn curry and rice. Their masala kokum drink was very refreshing as well.
Shravan Shetty
The ambience is replete with references to local culture in South Kanara District and Udupi referred to as Mangalore .
We had Two fish Thalis which had mackerel curry and silver fish fry .
A portion of summptous Prawn Koliwada , and Chicken Ghee roast .The Chicken Ghee roast is at a discounted price at half the price in Tuesdays .
They have an offer on Thursday for Shrimp starters
Selrina D'souza
Amazing food . Authentic fish curries and seafood dishes. Tried squids , mackerel curry ,boiled rice and pork. The flavours were so best that you just feel nostalgic about Goa and Mangalore
Hungry_bear
Quiet little place on a busy street. Seems unassuming at first. Clean ambience. Professional staff who know their menu and food well. Excellently prepared fresh sea food dishes that are mouthwatering and each with its unique taste. Reminds you of the manglorean cuisine but in your typical Bangalore street. The kori roti with chicken curry was heavenly and a definite recommendation for all you south canara cuisine lovers

If you’re a fan of coastal food, specifically Mangalorean food, head straight to The Konkan. Absolutely delicious food and fantastic service as well. The chicken ghee roast is as good as the one at Coast II Coast. The masala fried Anjal is a must try!

Best Konkan fish curry, coconut rice and Neer Dosa. How can I miss Coorg Pork starter!! If you would like to relish some authentic sea food, this is the place.

Simple ambience amazing food at most happening place at Bangalore.

Great experience. . Great food for someone who is new to Mangalorian food. We tried the seafood platter and that was heavenly.. thanks for a great time

Tasty and fresh sea food! Though we didn't like the Fish cooked inside banana leaf but the Prawn Sukka and the Konkan fish curry along with Coconut rice were outstanding!!! Need to improve their service!! It was little slow!

Very nice restaurant with nice ambiance. Food was very tasty and healthy. Restaurant was very clean. Especially the restroom was very clean. Staff is very supportive. Suramai Tawa fish was very tasty. Visiting here is highly recommended. Very good service by Mr.Purusottam.
Located at the edge of Chruch Street, this place has all the good vibes of a coastal delicacy.
Pomfret tawa fry was finger licking good, the best we ever had in Bangalore. The masala for tawa fry was unique and delicious. Silver fish rava fry was decent. Prawns ghee roast was again amazing. Bangda curry and boiled rice just wrapped up a memorable dinner. All fish items were fresh. My Konkani friend also was very satisfied with the food. Will definitely visit again to try out more dishes.
Again a shout out to Pomfret tawa fry which was the show stealer. :)
Sujalkabad10
Tried their Pomfret Tava fry, Anjal tava fry, Pomfret Uppu munchi, solkadi, Konkan egg Curry and Neer dosa. The waiter suggested us to have Uppu munchi as I wanted something spicy , but we felt it was not spicy at all. Nevertheless, it was delicious. The solkadi and egg Curry was a little above average , I have had better.

Our search for a new coastal sea food place in Bangalore took us to “The Konkan”. Located in the same building as KC Das on St. Marks – Church Street crossing. I really loved the food at Konkan, use of freshly grounder spices and fresh fish and meat makes each of the items really mouthwatering. We tried Chefs special masala fry (seer fish), Butter garlic prawns, Pork baffat with sannas & Panpole and Kundapur chicken with boiled rice. All of them were quite good but I loved the chef’s special masala fry and pork baffat the most.

In beverages we took solkadi and kokum juice, both were really refreshing.

Service was prompt and ambiance is very pleasing. I definitely look forward to visit “The Konkan” again.

We had a perfect 5/5 experience at Konkan the other day. The place has mouth watering Mangalorean and Konkan delicacies (seafood & meat inclusive).
We tried the Surmai Green Masala Fry, Butter Garlic Prawns, Pork Bafat with Sannas & Panpole and Kundlapur Chicken Curry with Boiled Rice. Kokum and Solkadhi gave us company from the bevarage section. We sealed the deal with a portion of Ragi Manni for desserts. Each and every item was top notch. I'd say they serve authentic Mangalorean cuisine. Would highly recommend this place to all the coastal food lovers.
Service is decent. Really appreciate the patience of the person serving us because I was taking a lot of pictures. Ambiance is perfect for a family lunch or even a get together with friends. The Konkani songs in the background add up to the beautiful vibe.

Definitely coming here again to try more from their spread :)

Bon Appetit:)

This place is just Wow. Must visit for seafood lovers. Located above KC Das on St marks- Church street crossing, the ambience is simple and sober with natural light during lunch adds to the overall decor.
The food is mindblowing. My recommendations are-
• Chefs special masala fry 👌👌👌👌👌
• Butter garlic prawns 👌👌👌👌
• Pork baffat with sannas & Panpole 👌👌👌👌
• Kundapur chicken with boiled/red rice 👌👌👌

The kokum juice & solkadi are really refreshing with the right masala mix.

Service is really prompt and welcoming. The staff are well trained and know their job really well.

Will visit again.

What a day!! First of all finding a restaurant totally authenticated with coastal cuisine is real hard and this place is amazing. We went here for a lunch today with a big family as we found this on Zomato being a complete coastal cuisine. And I must say the food is so so so delicious. All the dishes were amazing and the quantity was sufficient as well. I am sure going to visit here again. Had a delightful afternoon indeed.

A very quiet small place to go out with your loved ones, and must try would be a Prawn rawa Fry, Surmai masala fry ! Rest all a very decent food with courteous waiter.

A great Konkani restaurant near Brigade Road. The Sol Kadi was really good. Butter garlic squid was decent. We also had chicken race curry with rice and rice crisps. The curry was quite good. The ambience is decent but the service was ok. Overall a nice place if you are looking for seafood.

Probably the best place in Bangalore to have authentic sea food. Visited this place few days back. Great ambience great service. Small quite place to hang around with your friends and family. Had ghee roast chicken, prawn chilly, anjal fish fry as starter and had rice, neer Dosa, chicken and small fish curry for main course. Neer Dosa with chicken was out of the world. Had ragi sweet at the end. All the items were mind blowing. This is a must visit place for everyone

I had been to this restaurant, everything is good except they don't allow my pet..which is a small shih tzu dog..I have taken him with me to many restaurants and pubs.and he is the most well behaved dog ever. Still The Konkan didn't allow stating other customers would have problem. But other customers themselves come to meet my pet as he is so well behaved. I wish The Konkan allows my pet next time.
Nice place for sea food just above KC Das with valet parking. Good ambience. Staffs are friendly and polite. We went there for Sunday lunch. This restaurant was quite compared to other church street restaurants.
Now the food, tasty, simple and right portion for 2 and price wise reasonable. We ordered Neer dosa, Rice, Konkan fish curry and sol kadi. The fish curry was super yummy. A must visit.

Loved it! The eatery itself is small and very no frills. The food is superlative. We had the butter garlic prawns which were divine. The Ghee roast was finger licking good. The neer dosas, melt in the mouth. I am going again. And soon!

Located on St. Mark's road just above KC das.
Decent ambience, good food and service.
We went here on Saturday afternoon, not much crowed and got the table immediately.
We ordered Seer Fish fry, Lady fish fry, Prawns Curry, Neer dosa, Appam, coconut rice, sol kadhi.
Seer fish was very tasty but the portion was too small for the price. Lady fish fry was fresh and tasty found little sand on the fish head. Prawns curry was nicely done and tasty.
Overall,
Taste 4
Ambience 3.5
Service 3.5
Value for money 3
Slightly on the expensive side. food quality, hygiene and service was good.

They have valet parking.

Decent simple ambience..good lighting! We ordered anjal masala fry, chicken urval, prawn ghee roast for starters...anjal masala was just fantastic! Well cooked and perfect masala with curry leaves and spices.. chicken urval was disappointing..the chicken was threaded and over boiled ...prawn ghee roast was good but not excellent..the ghee roast masala cud have been better..for mains, we ordered Kerala paratha, Anjal fish curry and prawn pulimunchi... again anjal fish curry was fantastic in brownish gravy..cooked in slow flame with spices and curry leaves..prawn pulimunchi was okayish as the prawns were hard..and seemed overcooked..the gravy was average too.. Anjal is great guys! Go for it!!

Being a mangalorean living in Bangalore it's hard not to crave mangalorean food and let alone find it in this bustling city. On a rainy Sunday, while I was scrolling through zomato looking for mangalorean food, I came across The Konkan located in St marks road. It had quite a decent rating and a few bestselling dishes that caught my eye and hence me and my boyfriend decided to pay the restaurant a visit. As we reached the place and set foot into the premises we were greeted by the smell of a sumptious fish curry that we sensed was cooking in their kitchen. The restaurant had a classy finish moreover we managed to bag the best seat of the lot which was right next to the window allowing us to enjoy the rains and the view outside. We decided to order the kundapuri chicken curry, neer dosage, special fish fry (marinated in green masala) and the Kerala parathas. And mind you we were blown away! I had a full blown foodgasm and my mangalorean food cravings were seemingly satisfied with a blast of flavour inside my mouth. If you're looking for a place that serves authentic mangalorean food, do not look further. This place will certainly hit the right spot!

This is probably the best coastal kitchen in bengaluru. Service is real quick, staff are courteous, the food is fingerlicking, specially steam rice with fish curry 😋😍

Fried surmai, chilli prawns, Konkan pomfret curry and soul kadi. Each one I wanted to order more of. The first bite of surmai said everything about the flavours and quality of this restaurant. Very good personal attention when it comes to service and simple yet elegant , understated ambience. Will be back soon. Highly recommended.

Good Food and amazing Staff - this is the simplest way I can describe this place.

Located right on st. Marks road, must visit place to have good sea food.

Ambience is simple and nice. Walls filled with multiple hand sketches and konkani songs ( I guess 😬) in the background. I loved the way the restaurant has been put together.

One good thing I liked was price of sea food are different as per the availability and which makes sense because I have seen in multiple restaurant that list of items has been mentioned but when u ask they would say it's not available.

Coming to food, we ordered Sol kadai 😋, Fish meal (try with boil rice) , Prawns and Pompret. Day being Thursday, restaurant offer 1+1 offer on prawns. So if you order any item of prawn, you will get two of it (mast naa, if food is good). So I had a discussion with manager and requested him if he can give us two different item as price is constant, he agreed (lunch time so less people, we got advantage 😋).

We ordered prawns ghee roast and prawns butter garlic. Well prepared and amazing taste. My mouth was full of aroma once I tasted them. Special of the day was Pompret prepared in green masala....Amazing taste.

Overall experience was good and loved the way team accommodated our request. Thank you for making lunch experience great.

Loved the place. Amazing Prawns Ghee Roast and the Chef Special Masala Anjal Fry. The Ambot Thik fish curry that we ordered was also out of the world. Service was relaxed and good. And the seafood was so cheap and good. It was a such a good satisfying meal followed by a nap.

I have a softcorner towards places that serve coastal cuisine, after covering a lot of places that have good seafood one thing I realised was that it does manages to burn a hole in your pocket in the long run!

So when I was introduced to The Konkan by a close friend, we were three of us and ended up ordering 8 starters, one main course and like 6-7 plates of neer dosa and the bill came out to be somewhere around 3k which was super reasonable as we had squid, Kane, prawns, pomfret, chicken and what not. Since then, The Konkan has been my go-to place whenever I am craving for seafood and have fallen in love with place every time!

They've got great offers during the weekdays like buy one prawn starter and get another one free on Thursday and 50% off on Chicken ghee roast on Tuesdays!

Though I feel like I've tried the entire menu here out of my countless visits and each one of them have been really good, I would recommend ordering the butter garlic prawn, Kundapur chicken curry, Kane rava fry, Anjal tawa fry, chicken ghee roast, Coorg pork, and squid chilli paired with either neer dosa, sanna or shevio.
To sum it up, do visit this place and you are sure to fall in love with it that very instant!

The flavour were great and ambiance too. I wish the service was half as good, they got us burnt appams and didn't even offer to change it. Staff's knowledge of the menu and attitude is terrible.

The Konkan Belt covers the western coastal regions of Maharashtra, and ends at Uttara Kannada. This belt is quite famous for Malvani as well as Mangalorean Cuisine. Food from this region predominantly includes elements such as kokum(malabar tamarind), fresh coconut, and Tirphal. Lets find out more about our experience at The Konkan:

A no fuss place with good food. Right above kc das. The chefs pomfret masala fry was surprisingly green masala. But very good. Sol kadhi was nice... But a bit garlicky. The neer dosa was as delicate as should be. Chicken ghee roast was with bones... good taste, but chicken could have been tender. Ragi Manni was fresh and tasty. Think it's an even better place for the lunch hour. Should add more veg options and more variety. A big thumbs up!

A true and authentic one palce for seafood lovers this is place for you.

A mangalorean cuisine with pretty good ambiance located in Saint Marks Road opposite to hard rock cafe.

I came here on saturday for lunch with my friend not much crowded we didn face any difficulty in finding out table.

Coming to what i had here was as follows:

Kokum Juice : It was really very refreshing and soothing

Squid Chilly : This was just perfect and liked the way they presented perfectly balanced with spices nothing was dominant in this starter.

Crab Ghee Roast : Crab Ghee Roast was just too good and fresh, This how it should be typical the way they serve in mangalore, at a moment i felt like i am in mangalore :p

Pomfret Tawa Fry : Pomfret tawa fry was just yummy do give it a try its highly recommended.

Surmai Masala Fry : Oh this is another brillinant dish which i had here amazingly cooked with coconut oil which i personally like it and this was the best.

Pork Bafat : I like Pork very much and this was too upto to the mark as well cooked well too

Panpole/Sanna : This is what i tried it for the first time liked it with chicken curry and pork bafat goes well with it.

Chicken Roce Curry : If you want to taste curry like in mangalorean style you should try it here.

Ragi Manni : On my god this indian dessert was out of world i really liked it the most. Chapati was dry and hard and small but Bangda fish Curry yummy yummmm😋😋😋

I was here on a Sunday afternoon with a friend. We had ghee roast chicken, stuffed pomfret, konkan prawn curry and sannas. Apart from the portions of the roast chicken and number of prawns in the curry there was nothing I'd change about my time here. The ambience is okay and they play goan inspired music. As someone from north Konkan who's been missing home food, this restro could potentially be my goto everytime I come to MG road.

This is the worst experience I had till date ... I will never recommend anyone for this restaurant ... oh yes when you call for validation the staff on call will just let you know that the quantity is standard size🤣🤣 but mind it you pay 300+ just fr 50 grams food , wait not even 50gram. Also heads off to quality of the food ... the chef should get applause for it, basically you pay money for free!

Exquisite Mangalorean food, exceptional service with ambience that tells of the outstanding food, all at a price that's a bargain! You'll be tempted to lick your plates once you're done with the meal! I'll be coming back for more.

I have been craving some good chicken ghee roast for over 7 years of my voluntary exile. My search for the same got myself into signature restaurants that claimed to serve authentic Konkani food but disappointment prevailed. Running out of all options, I finally decided to make it on my own using ghee and a bunch of Mexican chilies. I’m fortunate to have survived that as well! I would say, unequivocally, this beautiful place in St. Marks Road serves the most delicious chicken ghee roast in the whole of Bangalore. It’s the true manifestation of finger lickin’ good! I can’t comprehend the possibility of anyone else managing to cook a better version of this. I don’t even wish to elaborate the quality of their sea food because I presume that’s implied! Go there for authenticity, mouth watering taste and warm service. I’m sure this place will make your evening great!
Note: End your meal with a nice dessert. Someone I know, about 30 years old, said he tasted the best jamun in his life here and I personally know he wasn’t living inside a cave all this while!

The place is near to MG Road. The ambiance is fantastic and the menu surprised me. The prices were really reasonable considering the location and the ambiance.
The food was crafted to perfection, I could see the attention to detail in all the dishes I ordered.
The taste was well balanced as well.
Overall I recommend this to anyone who wants to try seafood without burning a hole in the pocket.

I am a vegetarian but still the manager ensured that I enjoyed the place and ensured there’s no mix of non-veg in my food.

Glad to have found this gem of a place. Konkan serves authentic Mangalorean cuisine with a wide range of seafood to choose from. It's located opposite Hard Rock near MG road. The decor was simple and elegant, staff was courteous and service prompt. Food was impeccable. I had a wonderful time devouring the menu. We started with mixed seafood soup and Anjal masala fry. The fish was fresh and spiced to perfection. Prawns Rava fry, Mushroom ghee roast and Shell Fish sukka with Neer Dosa came next. I had a hard time picking my favourite among these though the Neer Dosa texture was not upto the mark. Chicken Ambat gravy with boiled rice and Pomfret Tawa Fry brought about a memorable climax. The three helpings of Sol Kadi made the experience even more enriching. This place is a must visit for every seafood lover and has made it to my list of favourites in Bengaluru.

We were on a short vacation to Bangalore from Goa. Being a Goan, Seafood is what we crave the most. The Konkan Sea Food restaurant was a savior for us. I checked the reviews of the restaurant on Zomato and placed an order for Pomfret Rawa Fry, Squids chill and Prawns Fried Rice. The Host Mr.Neil Rodrigues was kind enough to to deliver the food on time to our Hotel in Ulsoor. The fish and squids were fresh and mouth watering. Thank you for your courtesy Neil.

After moving to Bangalore from Mumbai have been on the look out for a decent Seafood place and I stumbled upon this by shear accident . The access to the restaurant can be hard to find if you don't keep a look out for it . The ambiance is very homely and service friendly .When it comes to food they do have a few good up their sleeves .The crab and the Squid dishes we ordered where great while the prawn curry and the Biriyani could have been a little better. Flavorsome ,well priced and authentic food is what they try and put out and they manage that .Would have liked a better dessert menu especially the Tender coconut Payasam . Over all a great place will be going back.

Post Cubborn Park we were looking for a sea food place and I found this restaurant.
