Review Purple Haze - Bengaluru

Aaaab
Crowd has thinned down but for us 30+ folks this is still the place for rock/metal. DJ accepts requests.
Rahul Biswas
Amazing place. Great ambience. Can spend hours listening to great music and having nice beer.
Anand Prakash
Popular for rock music lovers.. Having a good collection of classic rock music... Good ambience.. Nice service...
Victor Kharkongor
Awesome place for fans of Rock and metal music!! This is definitely a place where I would recommend my friends who love rock and metal music. Great place to spent with your friends for drinks with awesome rock and classic rock music. The food is okay which can be better. The rate is standard. The service is good.

If you're a fan on rock and metal, you're going to want to visit this place over and over again. Very friendly staff, good food, proper chill-out-with-your-mates pub. If you are the audiophile type, you are probably going to pick on the quality of sound in there though.
Nitin Raj
This is a bar with a distinction. Its exceptionally predictable with the music it plays. The feeling is something which makes me visit this place each time. The music is rock to hard shake. It helps one to remember the past brilliant days of school and flexibility from all the social trappings. For me its like strolling through a world of fond memories. An absolute necessity go for rock darlings. One can sing so everyone can hear with the music and essentially relax. On the off chance that one has a craving for moving. you can relinquish yourself. Obviously there is no move floor thusly however you can make a confusion in the space where you are sitting. Possibly the main thing which individuals dislike is the boisterous volume of the music however hey rock will be shake. So shake it companions! alright folks I neglected to say that on the off chance that you go stag on Fridays and Saturdays you going to need to pay some extra charge . so ensure you have a gathering of ladies and folks! straightforward

For all the rock-stars and headbangers, this is one among the places. You get good draft beer and needless to say their starters are good too. The music is the key! They play awesome rock music. Metallica, AC DC, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple and many more. I personally like their ambiance but it's unchanged for over a decade. They can try concentrating on changing their look and feel as the regular visitor will get bored of the same ambiance over a decade.

If you are the rock music lover, the best place in Bangalore. My favorite place to hangout, music and beer :) NOTE: visit this place only if you like rock music. Music is very loud, Not a place if you want to talk. Starters are great. Never got the opportunity to try the other food option
Madhu Sudhan
The music and ambiance was just right for me this Monday night after a hard day at work. The place is pretty deserted on Monday night like most other pubs in Bangalore. Staff were pretty friendly, booze just fine. Try the Chilli Fish if you decide to hangout here, the rest of the dishes like tandoori platter, chicken fried rice, chicken lollipop and even peanut masala was a low average in my opinion. *Nice place if you like loud rock music only
Param Singh
The music was good and so was the ambience not to forget the food as well. A caution though, if you aren't into rock music you might want to drop the idea of going there, else you'll claim the music as loud and uninteresting.
Ravi Verma
Its a great place for people who love Rock music ! Not a place for conversations as yhe music is loud. but if you want to listen to rock and enjoy your drinks, its definatly one of the decent places in Bangalore for you .
Abhijit Borah
Legendary place. Sad to see the reviews. We can't protect our legacy. Bangalore has lost it totally! We used to queue up for this place. Still plays great music. Don't spoil the place if you don't know what rock music is! Bangalore is what today because of IT and rock pubs. Purple haze is one of those classic rock pubs. I hope it stays forever, itd symbolic! Respect it.
Good Food enjoyed the packaged food the chicken was yummy need to think little innovative on the mocktail drink.

The quality of packaging was superb as there wasn't anything of plastic.
Chandni Uthappa N
Been here once and it was good enough, these guys have lot of place and service is a lil slow (may be cs of much crowd). Tried few things like kamikaze, chivas, spicy chicken and lambs, loved their pineapple cheese cheery(not sure of name )..Its yummmm...reasonable place to hang out.
Suroju Kartyk
It was a crazy night, landed at this place late, for gulping down an extra shot of vodka! The music took me right into a combination of classic rock and metal trance and we made some great friends too, we were not allowed to dance though, Customer service can be improved..
Rajeevnair189
One of the most welcoming pubs in terms of service.
Imagine the entire first floor just for me and my friends playing pool with chilled beer - that's Purple Haze (during it's renovation recently)
Friendly employees with good starters and above all classic rock & metal music makes your weekend dote.
Must try if you're in to rock and good beer.
Happy drinking :-)
Ashwin Reddy
Old school place right in the heart of koramangala. I started drinking there when i was 17yo in 2005 what a legendary pub. great food and of course killer booze

Richa Arora
A perfect place for hardcore rock music fans with cheap booze & great food! It’s an old iconic place in Bangalore & has its own charm! Have visited several times & I think it’s a great restaurant to unwind!
Shantanu Gaiki
Nice Restro.... Very good place to hangout... And their hardrock music... awesome..!!!
Nice beer... Nice food... Chicken nachos..
Simply awesome...!
Definitely not for non-Rock music lovers. Just because of the availability of BIRA my friend took me to this place, service was not good.
The path to the restroom is the smoking zone and hence you would have inhaled a whole cigarette by the time you return from the restroom. Needs to change.

Too loud and hence people around tend to speak even louder to overpower the music and hence really irritating to others.

Too dark and shady and hence very difficult to signal the waiters in case we need anything.
Kavya Sathyan
Did not like the place !!! The music was not mine or any of my friend's kind!!
It was too loud and the service was too bad
Finally left the place with a very bad headache !
Nakul Agarwal
The place for METAL MUSIC lovers!!

This place is heaven for the people who are METAL adherent. The atmosphere here is just CRAZY and wager that you would love the DJ if you are love this genre.
Coming on point as to why you are reading this review the consumables:

FOOD: Decent taste. Cheese Nachos are pretty simple and your taste buds will love them.
DRINKS: Its imperative to get HIGH here, as the ambiance drags you in for that and guess what they neither charge you bomb for being so.
SERVICE: Good service not at all bad.
AMBIENCE: INDOOR, DARK, THEMED good for pub lovers.
SMOKING: Not allowed in the side, but the best part is you can linger around with drinks and bites even while exhaling. As they have seats and tables there as well. Cool right?
VALUE FOR MONEY SCORE: 90%
Food is not expensive if compared with the alikes and so are drinks. No funny entry charge like some other pubs in the same locality.

My Verdict: As mentioned above this place is no ordinary pub playing every damn hit song in the town. Even forget Justin Bieber if you think you will be treated with his songs....ONLY METAL!! Iron Maiden .. Metallica..AC DC..if you love these then this place if for you!!

Who should avoid this place?
People looking for a calm quiet evening with a soothing music.... NO NO!!Don't dare to enter! Your date will go for a toss.
Families: Everything is quite dark inside so if you wann expose your kids to Metal "STUFF" please help yourself. Else simply pass-on!
NON METAL LOVERS: Trust me guys, a person who doesn't like metal CANT BREATHE IN HERE.

How is this place doing recently?
From some recent months, the place is not doing much better and the reason is adjoining pubs which are much more happening and not too strict with the music genre. Therefore, I would suggest to peep-in once before sitting.
Abhishek Patnaik
Very bad service. The waiters dont know the pricing and the rules. We wanted to play pool game and one waiter said its free after sometime another waiter comes and asks for money saying that it is paid.
Bernard Dsaa
One of the best hangout places. I had been here with my friend and she just loved this place. We had beer and stuffed chicken along with veg starters. Pretty decent.
Yamini Singh
Nice beer, nice chicken tikka , cocktails.
Loved the 90's music.
A perfect place to chill any day with friends .
A private place to hangout and good service.

Overall a must to visit if you like to revive all those 90's songs.
Bhupesh Khatu
Good place to hangout. Belgium beer is too good and must try. Better to go with friends and good ambience for dance. Food quality is goo too.
Vishu Kumar
Nice place to listen hard rock music. They serve quality veg and non veg food. Nice ambience. Got plenty of options to explore when it comes to liquor.
Ankita Deokar
One of the oldest pubs situated in koramangala, best place for the rock music lovers.
The place is really dark and shady and I love such places.
The food what they serve is amazing, we ordered for corn masala, noodles and chicken drum sticks, everything was so spicy and amazing.
One needs to visit this place to enjoy the rock music and the food.
The place is mostly occupied by the old people as it's a very old bar.
Suranjan Paul
A place dedicated to rock music lovers. The music is really loud, hence very difficult to hold a conversation. Friendly staff, good spread of liquor and food. Went on a Saturday evening. Not much crowd. I repeat: A rock lover's paradise.
Sreejith R
Once a great place ruined because of service I guess, the attenders where pretty uptight. Food was good though. And you get to watch people having fun at Gilly's next to it, if you're sitting upstairs.
Niraj Parab
This place is for people who like hardcore rock/metal music. Sound system is awesome and the whole team who works there is quite friendly. We had flaming shots which really had a punch and 2 pints to beer with some Nachos and the whole experience was great...Guys if you wanna enjoy with friends this place is great but little expensive...Guys start one outlet in mumbai it lacks bars with such such great rock music as well as live screening
Shivani Bhojane
If you don't like rock, progressive rock, metal, death metal or thrash metal don't bother coming here. But if you do, this is the place to go. They play everything you can expect. Metallica, Megadeath, Pantera, Slipknot, Linkin Park , limp bizkit, Bullet for my valentine, Guns N Roses, AC/DC, Disturbed, As I lay Dying and what not. I didn't have an account on zomato butafter visiting this place, I had to create an account to share my experience. If you love heavy music, try this place once
Akash Goenka
If you're a lover of metal music, you've got to try this place. Great offers on almost every Friday, amicable staff. Perfect for a different Friday night.

Avoid the veg nachos, it could be better, go for the pizza instead.
Sunshine Nisha
Quite place... Music Love it.. Chilled draught beer was good...Food great... Service staff great..Worth of money..But looking towards ambience its pathetic should improve on that
Aruna
I love Haze. It's one of the few places left in B'lore today that remind me of its glorious rock and roll days. I mean, in 2013, there were more than double the number of pubs and bars that served you classic rock with your poison of choice. But sadly, things have changed. The food is alright, but you don't go here for the food. Here's where you go when you miss Kurt Cobain, like you actually knew him, or just want music that gives you "a safe kind of high".
Vivek Vardhan
Sad to see a legendary place going down. One of the best place for rock music lovers. Their music system is mind blowing elating the rock experience. The BEER and food used to be good if nit great. When you have music for ears who carves for food. 3 years back it was hard to find a table over the weekend night. Now all this has turned upside down. Not sure rock is losing sheen or rock lovers are trending down. No more draught beer available. May items on menu not available. Rock is all about experience and the crowd. Now it turning out to be a bar than a rock pub. Indranagar branch still has it atleast
Pranav Pandey
Amazing music, I had been pub hopping and craving some non commercial music and I heard System and immediately went inside and had a brutal half hour of head banging. Thanks guys, will come around again!
Kevin Christopher
If it's about rock, beer and beef then this is the place to be! The quantity is great, unlike most other pubs around. Service is great and value for money too.
Fazeel Ahmed
Music:5
Service 4.5
Food: 4.5
Drinks:4.5
Value for money : 4.5
Ambiance: 4.5

I visit this place for rock music only... They have recently renovated this place and its better now... The crowd is decent and young... But that doesn't mean guys over 30 don't visit this place... you can see beautiful couples, enjoying the music and dancing...You can dance on the pathway, if you wish to...
Overall, a must visit place for rock music lovers...

What could be better: A suggestion to the management would be to maintain Gent's toilet...Every time I've been here, the toilet smells a lot...
Ankush Agarwal
For Saturday night, when u find waiting everywhere specially in Koramangala, then u can visit this place, and enjoy rock music which hardly anyoñe play now a days. Food was little disappointment, pasta was so spicy that we had to leave it.
Bhavya V Sridhar
In my opinion, Purple Haze is the only pub in Bangalore (amongst the ones that I have been to) that plays rock music and no other genre. So if you're looking for a good place to sip on alcohol and enjoy rock n roll, search no more 💁
I agree that it is not as crowded as the other pubs; this is perfect for me as I prefer to be around the ones who is not into rap, hip-hop, pop....etc :P thus, this Purple Haze is an escape from the kind of crowd I don't like to be around :D

Ambiance:
-this outlet is smaller than the Mysore one!
-very dark with blue lighting
-they play loud rock music-classic, metal.. but sometimes commercial rock. Visit after 10.30 or 11.00 P.M. to listen to only classics
-DJ here gets a special mention:) he is friendly and sweet (unlike the ones I have seen at other pubs) and would calmly explain that he has to play a few commercial rock songs to keep the crowd :/

Service:
Unlike the others who have reviewed this place, my experience with waiters here was pleasant:) the guy serving us was super cool and would mouth a few words to songs :D

Food and drinks:
-tequila shots (buy 2, get 1), Long island tea, Jim beam (buy 1, get 1): same as any other place, but offers are good 👍
-French fries: could have been spicier and crispier :|

Drinks: 5/5
Service: 5/5
Ambiance: 4.5/5
QFM: 3.5/5(high tax, unexpected!)

Conclusion: will definitely visit again, loved the experience:)

Purple haze has come a long way since 1996.It was the epitome of modern day pubs in Bangalore at least for a long time with limited competition.their style however is not so modern and they choose to stick with the dim lights(almost completely dark) and loud hard rock music. The food isn't great but the fish fingers are a must try.Beer is Foster's and stewards are responsive.service is a little slow but it's not the stewards fault.A good place If u are a rock and metal fan, otherwise u may not like the ambience!
Claudio Mathew
This is one of the oldest pub in Bangalore..and it's made for rock music lovers...they play all metallic heavy rock bands. So loud you can enjoy the bass. Food is not that expensive and the drinks too are affordable itself. The thing I didn't like was that you had to go outside area to smoke. It's mainly for guys so girls or you're going with guys who loves rock music more likely you're gonna be left out.
Roshid Khan
This is the one of oldest pub in banglor but nathing is there that call ambience but food is ok ok
And the cocktails are good but little bit expensive
If you are going with friends Then it's good because this place will be empty always
And they need to improve the service
Satyajit Jena
Really nice place. If you are short of cash thats the best place to crash, they have 24/7 happy hours on every drink. Really nice music if you are a rock fan decent food. Few starters are great like clips corn, chicken crispy. Nice place to hangout with friends
Ketaki Dixit
A good place to hangout .. pocket friendly food and drinks. There are many drinks to choose from and the food is also good.
This is one of those places where you would not go to enjoy the ambience but only enjoy your food and drink. They could improve on the service though.
Prithu J
This is a nostaligic place....holds lots of memories...
I would recommend it to anyone who wants to have a good time at a pub :)

Food, drink, ambience...couldnt ask for more...
Do try the cherry cheese pineapple...
Soumajit Reddevil Hazra
This is one of the oldest pubs in Bangalore. Not much in the ambience but the music is very good. They have huge variety of drinks in their menu. One of the best places to hangout.
Sounak Bhattacharya
We ordered draught beer... What they claimed to be a 3 litre pitcher is actually much less.. We made them measure in front of us and they couldn't fill 3 1 litre bottles ...then as a compensation offered us an extra mug of beer which we refused.... total FRAUD!
Vishal K
The original one in Residency Road was a world of its own. Been visiting that one since college days.

This one at Kormangala gets 3 cause they played classic rock and metal. Else I couldn't fancy the place.

Call me old school but if it ain't loud then it ain't right man 🤘🤘🎶
Geetazzle
The drinks and food were both good. The service was prompt too. I, however didn't like the music the day I visited and that is mainly because they were playing it in a very very low volume. If you like quiet places, this shouldn't bother you at all. Would I visit here again? Maybe....but only for F&B. Not music..
Harshit SHarma
Decent place to chill with your buddies, specially if you don't have much to talk about and enjoy loud music. Been there a couple of times, they play the same songs every time, mostly rock. You'll see a lot of regulars here, singing the same songs again and again (in a good way). The food is okay and beer is cheap. I think that about sums it up.
Shayak Bose
If you love classic rock with liquor, I would surely recommend this place to you. On a serious note, the rock music that they place can be a bit loud and if you're not a fan of it probably you won't enjoy the ambience. Me being a love of classic rock bands like The Doors, Rolling Stones, and singers like Bruce Springsteen and Jimi Hendrix fell in love with this place. The food is quite good too. The beef nachos were the best. And the best part is getting drunk and play snooker. Yes, this place has a snooker table. Mainly a place to chill out with your pals. If you want to have a conversation, then I'd recommend you to side outside or sit inside to enjoy the music. Loved the dim lights and the eerie decorations with pictures of the classic legends on the wall. I've already been here a couple of times and would recommend you to try this place! Cheerios!
Nalini Gupta (foodndestinations.com)
Place is ok with dark base lighting. Music is only rock hard and metal which is not my choice. Menu has choices but the taste didn't fascinated that much.
Gauhar Parveen
A very crazy place for all those who loves Rock music . Music is too loud , hence you can just eat , drink and groove in. Finger food is average and the quantity is pretty decent.

Its a good place all together for having to just groove in your fav Rock Music .
Nikhil Kawale
If you are looking for a place where you can enjoy Metal and Rock music along with the Pitchers and Friends, then this is a must go place. Food is really good, Ambiance is just as good as the music. Rock and Metal lovers do visit this place.
Spriha Tantia
An average place right opp gilly's. It was a Saturday night and yet the place was quite empty. The burger and fried corn pepper were amazing. The happy hours is a good deal. But this place is a little too dim for my liking.
Ganesh Moorthy Mohan
I went here with my friends, it was awesome place to chill out weekends, service is awesome, food and drinks are excellent, particularly I like two for one , very wide place to chill out, DJ is rocking. Recommended for everyone.
Pavan Chaudhary
This is one of those vintage pubs in Bangalore. The food and drinks are average and priced high for what they are offering. The only good thing about the place is the music they play. It's overall an average place.
Manaswini M
It's a place with lost glory since there are so many better places that have popped up now. It's totally dull. Only reason to go there would be to get away from the mainstream music and listen to some good old rock. The service is pathetic! The waiters are insufferable and they just don't give a rats ass about the people who come there. They're lazy and sloppy and keep humming music while taking an order like they're just not interested. Cmon guys, you're not doing anybody a favour by being polite and attentive, except to your own establishment.

And to make matters worse, my drink had some weird particles at the bottom, which, owing to the bad lighting I noticed only towards the end. So off putting.

The sitting arrangement in balcony is a good thing. Rest is mediocre..nothing so spectacular about food or drinks. I would rather opt for any other place. I expected more initially.
Aakash Dusane
Food isn't that great. The pub is supposed to be themed and I expected a different music playlist, sadly the management thinks it's OK to play Electronica. The drought beer is actually Foster's. Beyond this point I don't have to say anything at all.
Shiva
Music is too loud so that people sitting next to you can't even listen what you are speaking.
Food is ok, fish chilli is good.

Drinks are normal beers and hot drinks what you get outside which are not even worth the price and majority of good beers like carlsburg elephant etc , Kingfisher premium were not even available at pitcher size.
Abhishek Khandelwal
Decent place with in budget alcohol. Food is just average and so is service. Place plays mostly Rock and Metal music, hence good if you want to get high but not so good for having conversation.
Adarsh Menon
Chilled beer with rock music, A perfect blended combination for rock lovers. A great place to hangout with friends. The only drawback is adjusting with the Foster's beer instead of Kingfisher. Apart from that everything is great.
Mehr Chakraborty
The place is perfect if you want to chill with some beer while listening to great music. Being a Classic Rock fan, I always enjoy the ambiance here. The music tends to get real loud so it is difficult to have clear conversations with others.
Pragathi Praveena
Mediocre service, mediocre food and offers on drinks are terrible for two/three people. Yet it is quite crowded. Hmm. The grass is greener elsewhere in that area.
Rohit Narvekar
Haze...visited this finally.

Headbang to metal with random dudes, loose yourself, you've to visit this.

Downstairs, big seating area, it's dimly lit & makes a crazy atmosphere, if looking to have a conversation sit on the 1st level.

Ordered beer, chicken nachos, Garlic bread was simply heavenly. Fish dish was slightly on the spicy side, but tasty. Decent offers on beers & hard drinks.

Overall, we had a great time.

Neena Varghese
Ambiance - Good ( Loved the music )
Food - Not upto the mark
Service - Not bad.. but could be improved
Cost - Pocket friendly

Recommendable..
Sachin Francis
The place is dimly lit and hence is perfect for a date I guess. Music is mostly rock and is played at a comfortable volume to facilitate conversations. The place is light on the pockets as I got one of my lowest bills here. Food and service is good enough with a variety of items to choose from. Mostly they have some offer or the other running.
Namit Singal
A worn down place with cheating waiters.... If you do go there, make sure you make the waiter count the drinks you have ordered, otherwise they will put whatever they want to in the bill later on. Very bad music. Go at your own risk .
Shruthi Shenoy
Always my to go place when I feel like chilling with my buds over a couple of drinks, enjoy the weather outside and listen to good music. First place that comes to my mind when I want to go out with a group and not try over pricey bars!
Only place that has amazing offers on their drinks and offers great food and ambience. Not many people are aware they have Happy hours throughout the day! 1+1 on domestic drinks and 2+1 on beer throughout. Usually sit on the first floor outside area. It's the best place which gives one the view of outside and also very light music that wouldn't spoil your conversation. To top it they have some good tit bits that'll go well with your drinks.
Recommended dishes : Fish fingers , death chicken wings, onion rings, chicken nachos, potato wedges.
Jitesh Dembla
Looks like a little shady place from outside but is simple on the inside. They have three floors for service. Not so expensive either. The food is decent but can improve a lot. Hosted a small party on one of the floors and they were kind enough.
Yamini Chachad
#Food : 3/5 # Must try : Chilled beer... # Service : Good# Ambience : Its loud ... u cant talk here.. its a place for groups. .more like a sports club! Matches are enjoyed here... shout a loud no body to bother you..!!
Anjali Paul Iyer
I like this place mainly because it reminds me of so many drunken nights with friends on most trips to Bangalore and now that I'm here to stay, I hardly visit. They play really good rock music, have happy hours and serve pretty great food!! It's definitely not a cheap place to go but once in a way, having a night out at Purple Haze is allowed!! I don't like the lighting much because it triggers migraines faster than the drinks arrive but otherwise, it's a nice place to hang out!
Debadutta Sahoo
Good ambience and good music. Waiters are really friendly and helpful. Personally I didn't like the food that much. Chilli chicken felt like frozen and quite faint. The savoriness of meat was not there in any of the dishes.

Ambience :4.5/5
Food :2.5/5
Service:4.5/5
Leander Reis
The happy hours, food, good music !
It's a nice place to chill out at. Ideal place for a nice chat over a drinks as the music is Not that loud !
Navneet Kaur
It's a delight for the rock music lovers and can be avoided by the people who do not like the loud deafening music when you can't hear each other talking. I am in the latter category, so I do not frequent this place but whenever I have gone (as part of hopping pubs!), I have loved the energy this place has to offer. They have a screen playing the old rock music songs, and as the evening progresses you can see people hand banging and getting wasted.

The food is decent and so are the drinks!
Chandrakant Pawar
A very average place with ok-ish ambience and food , I would rather prefer going to Gilly's which is right opposite to it they offer better food and ambience and little less expensive compared to Purple haze (a pint of beer cost 200 in purple haze where as it was 165 in gilly's)
Deepansh SRIVASTAVA
1+1 beer all day on weekdays.
this place is not very spectacular however it is pocket friendly so boozing around month end here is probably is good idea.
drinks are fine , quality of food can be improved, service is fine.
just ok ok place
Sumedha
Visited this place on a weekend and it was not crowded at all. We went to the top floor and took up the corner place which is more like a deewan arrangement. It was pretty comfortable. We ordered for paan hookah , beer pitcher, French fries and crispy corn. Hookah flavour was very mild. I guess a beginner would prefer it. What is annoying is that hookah is just for 40 minutes. And the staff was kind of rude to us to take it even when we insisted on getting us the bill. He kind of made sure that we don't come back anytime soon. Starters quantity isn't much so you might want to order one plate per person. We cancelled our main course order once our hookah was done. Ambiance was ok with some really loud music. So if you want to chill and not talk much and just enjoy the music (which wasn't my kind of music though) you can visit this place.
Ambiance : 3/5
Service : 2/5
Food : 3/5
Value for money : 3/5

Anupam Sarma
This place is only for the metal heads . They focus more on the music than the choices of food. This is a place where you can't hear your friends because it's too noisy . But if u want to have a quieter time you can be seated in the upper levels. the beer tower is the most ordered item here . And they have quite a number of starters to go along with the drinks. Specially chicken and sea food.
Arun George
'Purple Haze' used to be the 'go-to' bar [back in the days!] for getting wasted/semi-wasted [along with really loud rock music!] on good ol' beer n starters. Service is highly inconsistent [one of the major drawbacks I'd say!]. The interiors are dimly lit. Pocket-friendliness is what mostly brings you back to PH!
Alrex Romer
1+1 beer all day on weekdays. I'd love to stop there but Zomato now needs a minimum word count. The place isn't spectacular, and the food besides the chicken nachos can be given a miss. But if you want a buzzworthy night and still a happy wallet, it's hard to beat purple haze
Shrey Sharma
This place has the ambience to sit and chill with your friends. Decent enough to get you through 3 rounds of pitcher, at least! Try Baby Corn Chilly (this wasn't on the menu so we had to ask the waiter to add chilly) and cheesy nachos. Go for the regular pitcher they offer and with all this you'll also be listening to a lot of popular old rock songs.
Anand Agarwal
The experience here first time was quite good as the drinks were not too expensive. Following that we again entered this pub to have some hot drinks, but after having first sip itself we realize it was not the original jack Daniel peg.. It was diluted with some other drink and taste was simply pathetic.
Tried hookah as well on 2nd floor which was a disappointment again. No starters were amused. Although good for foster beer.

Won't recommend
Siddhartha Sahai
Had a bad experience here - the waiter basically didn't know the price of drinks on the menu for happy hours. He said everything was Rs.400, so we ordered one. Later we saw our bill was way over budget, the reason - the price was actually Rs.800, double what he said! There was no point arguing with the manager, and the waiter didn't even apologize or clear the confusion. It's a different matter than drinks we didn't even order were on the bill initially, and we had to get them removed too. I think Jimi would be really disappointed with this place.
P.S. the nachos were soggy too.
Sandip
This is once of the oldest in the city and this place is a class more often than not.
The crowd is class and their food is very good.
I appreciate the fact that they are few pubs in Bangalore who play hard rock still while many others have shifted to punk.
Siddhanth Sharma
It all started in Jan'15 when my workplace was in Kormangala. Purple haze had something very different when compared to other places and that was the amazing Rock music and the rooftop happy hour deals. Unfortunately now the happiness of the deals have reduced but the music and the ambience inside remains the same.

You can have variety of draught/bottled beers, though our favourite order was always a tower and some house fries. You can kick start your weekend plans and probably hop around other places in Kormangala.

Food : Decent variety of veg/non veg starters, I loved the chicken burger they served. Fries and peanuts remains the most loved options with beer.

Must visit if you are into Rock/Metal music and you'll hear people sing along with AC/DC, Porcupine Tree, Led Zeppelin's songs \,,/

Heard a lot about this place but was very disappointed once i visited this place recently. That was a Friday evening and this place was almost empty. Still i thought of giving it a chance and asked for the menu. Wonder they had only kingfisher to serve and every other beer was out of stock as told by the staff. They served the starter after half an hour and forgot to give spoons and forks. After couple of reminders a guy helped us with the same with a rude face. Would like to suggest the management that they are still popular and should concentrate on the operations to survive.

The ambience and rock music is good. But the staff and manager was not at all well behaved. Too arrogant. The food is not up to the mark. They have happy hours where they serve 1+1 drink 30ml.

This place is located in the JNC road opposite to Gilly's restobar. Our basic need was to drink and play pool! As harry's cafe was moved to indiranagar we got to know about this place through a friend where both drinks and pool is available.

They have 3 places to be seated smoking(first floor) non smoking(ground) and the roof top. Also they have a medium sized pool table which is given on hourly basis which is always reserved though.

The interior was dark with some good lights , i really liked the ambiance and especially their hard rock music. Service was okay. Personally i liked the ambiance and seating in the non smoking area than the first floor.

They have a cool variety of starters to order and the chicken was tasty.

They are also many other pubs around that road/area if you are looking for a better place as nothing much impressed me apart from choice of music and the pool table which was the main reason for us to go.

P.s. : Sorry for the bad picture quality , as i dont admit i got high i'd rather say i got a crappy camera in my phone :P

I've been to this place a few times. The music here is awesome. The place is a bit dark though. The offers on happy hours are good.
The staff is good and service is quick.

Superb place to hang out in eve with ur friends.
They have Ac area in which pool table is thr. But outside/ non Ac area is really superb. Nice ambience, comfortable sitting, welcoming staff is something adds value to thr business.
We ordered fosters pitcher. 2+1 was the offer as it was happy hours.
Ordered peanut masala, chicken lollypops, coriander chicken and chicken chilly as starters.
Lollypops weren't too good they were small but might be that's how they serve. Over all wonderful exp and good place to hang out.

Fan of rock music and beer enthusiast this is the place to be. Awesome ambience with classic music and chilled drought are ineffable. Beer foods such as fish and chips and spicy fries are highly recommended. This ain't the place for the faint hearted, be sure to knock yourself out with heavy music and beer of course :)

They had this 1+1 offer during day time so one day we decided to go to this place. But that offer was only available for the roof top sitting. So we had gone there ordered beer along with some chicken snacks and veg snacks. For me the whole experience was just OK. Because I was not able to enjoy the rooftop experience, which in some of the places in Bangalore is just awesome. Actually it was hot, music was average and the place was also not very clean.Next time if I happen to visit this place I would wana try their indoor sitting. But till then a big no for their rooftop area.

One of the few hard rock and metal bars left in the city. With the plethora of EDM playing pubs with new variety of pub grub serving options out there, this place may seem old school, but that's the point, Purple haze haven't changed much, you go back and you wouldn't see much difference from how this place used to be 5 years ago.

For the newbies, PH is extremely dark inside with a hint of blue/ green light on the inside even if you enter post lunch hours. Heavy metal/ rock metal playing inside the background, music can be very loud. The service is prompt, you would find variety in food items without novelty. You may find options like masala peanuts, cashew masala, fries, crispy babycorn , drums of heaven available here and they go well with the drinks. Majority of them stick to mojito, draught beer or the hard liquor while they are here, works best when you are in large groups and can handle loud music, and it is a pocket friendly place!

This is one of the oldest pubs in the city and it has lost its charm ever since a whole new bunch of new pubs have opened up! Located in the busy Jyoti Nivas College road, this place does have a good location but it does not live up to that level. The ambience is quite dark with blue lights everywhere, quite a retro look!

Well, I did like their starters but I felt that they can work a bit more on the cleanliness part of the place. The drinks are priced quite reasonably and the music is amazing! Those nostalgic rock songs are what they play!

Overall,an okay place if you are out with a group of friends and not at all in a mood to splurge!

This is one of those old Bangalore rock music scene represent pub. You go there early evening, get yourself a beer and just enjoy the magic of rock n roll. As the evening progresses the metal gets heavier and if you don't want to be a there then you can go upstairs. This place has options! The food is nothing to brag about but they have variety. A good place to chill out.

This place does good in only one thing but they do it like no other - good old rock music. I have never heard such a vast and exquisite collection of rock. Everytime I visit there are always few songs which I have never heard and are great!
Foodmania
Lovely place if u like rock music...old hardcore rock songs are played on huge screens and the whole atmosphere makes u energised..
Draught beer is great...we've only tried starters here mostly to go along with drinks - chilli fish, fish fingers, chilli pork, Chicken lollipop, peanut masala, French fries, paneer tikka are all good...
There is also a pool table where you can play with your friends..

Ah! Purple haze...I've always had a liking for this place because its been there for quite some time before the other pubs came to being on JNC Road and the loud music esp the retro beats and the hard rock!

The ambience is still good here and the drinks and food are reasonably priced so if you are not in the mood to spend much, yet want to chill out....this is the place.

The staff here aren't very courteous or very quick in serving either...so one should better not be in a hurry if you are planning to go there or else you'll be disappointed.
The nibbles are decently done.

Overall it's a nice place to visit, if you like hard rock and dim lighting and don't want a heavy pinch on your pocket.

Drums like machine guns, screeching guitars and bass in your face. Love Rock? Like humanely priced booze? Like the fact that everyone around you is rocking out to their favorite song and not worried about wrinkling their clothing ?

I used to hear about how the place has lost its sheen etc etc "It's not the same anymore man !" Duh?! What ? Probably you moved onto synth and plastic button made music.

The food is pub grub, pick anything non vegetarian from the menu and you are sorted. I went Viva la Revolution again (note: Tequilla Savagery) apart from the regular beers , whiskies etc.

Lots of Megadeth, Slipknot,SOAD and then they played Still of the Night!

Thats why I review and thats why I go again. Rock On \m/

Good decent place.nice for a quite talk and a few drinks.but the waiter in the top most floor was rude and arrogant.he took the order after half and hour and dint even mention the bar was closing . he dint ask for a last order either.
Now that's is bad service.
Dawa Dolma
Good place for people to come, have their drinks and enjoy 80's music....it's always so loud inside so forget about chit chatting..apart from that the place is way too dark..so they may want to consider changing their interior..they do have a floor above which isn't that loud but again, there they don't have separate smoking room and personally I don't like places which don't offer separate smoking room. Since we ordered only a burger and cheese fries so can't review on food....

I heard that this is 1 of the oldest pub in Bangalore... So we decided to give it a try :)
We loved the music. . Ambiance is bit dark but it's great... Sitting space is also good.... With good service
We tried paneer tikka and veg nachos..... I can't say that was great but yes it was definitely good...
Must try atleast once fir the music.. Dark Ambiance.

Located in a posh locality but not up to the mark comparing to other situated nearbuy to it... The sitting space is good and spacious but the service is killing it customer patron. We order 3 pitcher the staff came and started pouring it . our glasses were overflow and our table was flooded with beer and we looking at d staff wtf you done. Inexperience staff for sure.. And our 1st impression changed totally to last impression .. Though I should admit food is good worth d money .

One advice to the purple haze team plz tight ur belt and start treating ur customer well if u want to survive .. ALL THE BEST.

I loved the ambiance. Not really happy with the service. They seem to be so flustered, they just rush with the drinks order and end up suggesting and making you order what they want. The food though is great and the quantity is filling
The music here, is the star of this place 💖
