Review Puliyogare Point - Bengaluru

Harsha Anjanappa
Puliyogare Point is located in one of the bylanes of GandhiBazar. We had visited this place one evening for dinner Simple seating. Place is very popular for its food so dont give the ambiance any importance. We tried mini idly with sambar,Puliyogare and Dosa. Loved the Puliyogare. Sambar too tasted yumm. Service was quick. Prices were pocket friendly. Have heard a lot about their sweet pongal, will try it next time

They are available in swiggy and Zomato I ordered puliyogare, pongol, lemon rice, sweet pongol and sajjige . where the puliyogare stole the show with its authentic taste. The lemon rice and sajjiige were decent, and the generous portions ensured a satisfying meal. It's definitely reliable choice for those craving traditional South Indian flavors

Puliyogre Point, a culinary gem! The legendary Puliyogre steals the show with its finger-licking goodness. But the delights don't stop there – from Bisibelebath to Sweet Pongal and Lemon Rice, each dish is a flavor-packed masterpiece. The petite size of the place fades away against the backdrop of their unparalleled quality. As a regular lunchtime customer turned diner, the experience is a testament to the irresistible charm of Puliyogre Point. An absolute treat for the taste buds and it's pocket friendly!!
Rajesh Phayde
Tasted puliogore and lemon rice. Must try puliogore. Rating 5/5 (Because of puliogore with chutney) Lemon rice. Rating 4.5/5. Cons: place should be cleaned after having food as it was not cleaned when we had visited. Other than this well maintained and hygienic foods are served.

The Puliogare is delicious. Vegetable side dishes that are often not specified on the menu are available if you ask nicely. Highly recommend the Kovakkai /Ivy Gourd/ stir-fry side dish. It is delicious and has coconut and a simple seasoning. It's called "Tondekai Palya" in Kannada and "Tindore ki subzi" in Hindi. We also had the masala vadai - nothing to write home about here.
Nithyanand Yeswanth
A good place for a quick vegetarian breakfast or lunch. The menu is limited. They don’t have a kitchen there, so cooked food is brought in and served. It’s a small place that can seat around 30 people. Usually not very crowded. Have been there umpteen times. Food is pretty good. Sweet Pongal, khara Pongal and puliyogare are the best and must try. Mini idly dipped in sambar is good too. Avoid vada as that’s usually not crispy. It is not a fancy place. It’s one level up from typical darshinis. You go here for purely for the taste of food and nothing else.

One of the legendary places in South Bangalore. "Chip of the old block” Puliyogare Point is the same unit of “Kadambam” an authentic Iyengar family Dinning restaurant. Poliyogare and sweet Pongal are the Tasty and famous items. This is one of our favorite place, Loved the Puliyogare. Their puliogare is a must try. Service was quick. Prices were pocket friendly. The Puliyogare is delicious. Mini idly dipped in sambar is good too. Gasagase (poppyseed) payasa, ambode, Gujju avalakki are other must try items. Their food is so rich in flavours, it'll make you visit the place again and again.

This is one of our favorite place, when we roam in Basavanagudi streets. Situated near to Bugle rock park, this place is famous for puliyogare and Pongal. We tried bisibelebath, pongal and puliyogare. All were good. But puliyogare was exquisite. Service staff is less, so it may not be so efficient. Dedicated parking spot is not available, but you can find some side roads. Seating arrangements are descent. Try this place, if you love puliyogare.
Jagadeesh Neethimohan
Food is great it is more like stand and eat and worth the cost. It is not a full fledged restaurant more of a quick bite

One of the legendary places in Basavanagudi area, if you're looking for something different from idli dosE vadE. They have puliyogare, gasagase (poppyseed) payasa, ambodE, vangibath, chitranna etc. All good and fresh!
Shashidhar Sharma
Quite homely, small restaurant with something that matters more than everything else, Good food at an affordable rate. Pretty small place, don't expect a star rated menu. Very good for some original Kannada food. Puliyogare was awesome, hooghly recommended.
Sam Samrat
Great place for a quick vegetarian lunch. Puliyogare is really good. There are other dishes as well and you can expect above average taste and quality for the reasonable pricing.
spoorthy devaiah
They serve authentic puliogare and other south indian breakfast items. Their puliogare is must try. Also tried khara pongal and loved it. Their food is so rich in flavours, it'll make you visit the place again and again.

I had Puliyogare rice and Bisi bele bath. I loved Puliyogare. It cost Rs.50 each. Rice is already prepared by them. When you arrive they just serve you already prepared rice. Often the rice is cold because of the same. That's a downside I felt because I love to have my food served hot especially in winters like these. Follow @khadadi_ on Instagram.

The name of the place gives an idea of what is good about this place! You get some good lip smacking Sweet pongal and Puliyogare here, you have a small dine in options with few tables to sit and relish your food.

Decent portions of food and quality is good! Pricing can be reduced little for the food they offer. Recommended place for breakfast and lunch 😃

There was a short shipment of an order. When we called the restaurant they were rude and asked to contact zomato. Please check when you order a combo. Look at the items received

A small little outlet located in the heart of Basvangudi.

Must try - Coffee, Sweet pongal , Pulitogare
Each of these items was just out of this world. I would definitely go back again and again just for their coffee.

We did not like the bisibele bhath, it was totally missing the flavour/spices. The tomato rice bhath and pongal were ok.

The prices were on the higher side, each of these items was priced at about Rs. 40.

I will definitely go back for their coffee.:)

Puliyogare point is a famous eatery known for their South Indian delicacies especially Iyengar Puliyogare. It's at a walkable distance from the famous Bugle rock's back entrance.

Service:
-It can get difficult to get the waiter's attention here. Nonetheless, they're friendly and quick.
-Won't take more than 10 minutes to get the food on table.

Ambiance:
-Parking is available.
-Restaurant is on lower ground floor with two different sections; one with seating area(accommodates upto 25 people) and another without seating area.

Food:
-Puliyogare: The signature dish served here is definitely one of the best I have had. But, I'd prefer Puliyogare at Veena stores:)
-Sweet Pongal: Another signature dish here that wasn't upto the mark. It could have been sweeter.
-Jamoon: Too sweet, but not bad.
-Coffee: Perfect, neither too light nor too strong.
-Akki Roti: Crispy and delicious. A must try:)

Conclusion:
-Pocket friendly and definitely worth a visit when at Basavangudi.
-Will visit again for Bisibelebath and the items that go well with Sambar.

Food: 4/5
Service: 4/5
Ambiance: 3/5
QFM: 4/5

I had ordered a combo, bisibele bath, curd rice and vada
Instead I received something else. I reported the same with Zomato but haven’t received positive response from them. Have shared pictures too.
Had bad experience with the Zomato

This place serves the authentic iyengar cuisine in city. Must try shakar pongal it just stole my heart away❤️. Puliyogare rice and other served items are also good. Reasonable price and good crowd, best time to come for breakfast.

Food taste average. Not great! I don't recommend. Ordered bisi bele bath - average, vada- bad. .

.

.

.

Puliyogare Point is one of those eateries that will remain evergreen. It's easy to find in Basavanagudi. Their puliyogare reminds me of the best temple prasada I've had the good fortune to taste. Everything is pocket friendly and delicious. I'm partial to their sweet pongal too. You don't have to look any further for yummy South Indian food ❤

Namitha Jagadish - really loved the local bengaluru dish. Specially bisibele bhath and puliyogare. I tried sakka bhath too.
Its lovely, yeah it is very sweet but really Nice to have it in lunch.

Ordered 3 lemon rice and received 3 pulavs which is totally not good. And ordered 4 vada earlier and got just 2. You seriously need to work on that!!
Akash Raichandani
The vadas vere totally cold and dry. Not at all fresh. Rice was good
KARTHIKEYAN
The food was really delicious and good in package.
I ordered puliyogare and sweet Pongal both was tasty.
Ambode was also good but if it is little small it would be still good
Sandeep Sunku
Not worth the money spent. Charging 55 for bisibelebath and expect the quality also to be good. Taste is not good for the money paid and requires improvement
Pooja Lekha
Authentic taste. Rename it as "Puliyogre and Bisibelebaath Point" coz it tastes sooooooooo goood.
Nothing can beat this at this price. It's just wooow. Eat Repeat
Simple yet clean, tasty and worthy is this outlet very famous for the authentic puliogare (Tamarind rice).

This restaurant is a great hangout place for most of the school and college students around.

Must try : puliogare

#rajeshwrites

Quantity was less and number of akki roti should be mentioned

Ordinary looking place which serves good puliyogare with maddur vade and curd rice to boot. Prices are low and surely worth at least a one time visit.

This has been a long pending visit, but I finally made happen with friends.
The place was crowded in both the dining and self-service sections when We visited for lunch.

Puliyogare, Pongal, Bisibele Baath, Pulav, Sakkare Pongal, Kai Haalu, Ambode, Uddina Vade & Maddur Vade are some of the foods We tried.

We liked all the items We tried and could not have enough of the foods on offer, especially Kai Haalu.

Would be back for more sometime soon to try rest of the items from the menu.

It is always busy and is running like a machine all the time.
It badly lacks hygiene and is directly proportional to the rating I have given for this restaurant.
Rahul Tilak
It's a small place at the corner of the street, location is pretty good, the puliyogre is really good. Its like the one you get in Ragi guda temple during hanuman jayanti, really tasty. Pricing is pretty decent. The other dishes are good as well but u should come here to taste the pulioygre.
Hvsrinivasa
Food is too good. But every time I order online, one or the other item will be missing. It happened to me several times. They pack it in hurry, and when received, it will be like treasure hunt for us as they use aluminium foil for packing. And then, we find one or the other item missing.
AlokVee
I had a bisibelebath and veg palav here. It was very good and taste feels like homemade. Very nice food and good taste. Need to try other items as well . Best south Indian food.

Ordered in lunch today since we had a terribly busy /crazy day and was impressed... we wanted a simple meal after all the tiring run around and the food met that criteria perfectly -felt like a home made meal.
WE ordered mini meals and bisi bele bath-just wish the quantity of SAMBHAR and rasam was a little more.
No masala spiced food, no oily veg.. just simple and tasty!
ANIL JAYARAM

Ordered from this place when I badly wanted to eat puliyogare, dint like the flavour of it. The kesari bath was really good. Oil and the dry fruits elements were balanced.

Must try - Puliogare. I have become a regular customer here. Right ingredients and perfect Puliogare I have tasted in Bangalore. Taste is similar to Priyadarshini Restaurant near majestic or I would say even better than that.

Food / Drink - Simple South Indian food. Absolutely no frills. Bele bath to sweet Pongal, Maddur vade to the brilliant pulihogre. Puliogre is flavourful, served with diluted yogurt. You’d enjoy the lip smacking tamarind flavoured rice. The sweet Pongal is just like the ones that are served in South Indian temples. The Maddur vada, fresh and flaky, is one of the best in Bengaluru city. Overall, a big thumbs up to food.

Price - Absolutely and unbelievably light on your pockets. You’d finish a wholesome tummy bursting meal in less than three digit figure. Immensely high value quotient. But remember, portion sizes are quite small.

Service - Fast and friendly, just like any other neighbourhood restaurant.

Ambience - Very minimal. Just gets the job done. Keep your expectations absolutely low.

Location - Gandhi bazaar. Parallel to DVG road. Corner building, maps will help.

Parking - Street.

Speciality - The menu itself.

Must try? - Oh yes!

Pro tip - Order one each of everything!

I had a very bad experience ordering here mini idli sambar, for which they costed me 40rs which came through just 5small idlis, which is very less to that price, please stop making fools of customers and treat them better with your cusines
Arunachalam Gunasekaran
Never ever try food in this restaurant, I spotted a big worm in idli and place is not hygienic at all. Avoid this restaurant and take care of your health.

Ordered puliogare for breakfast this morning .
Taste is ok .. but when the food arrived it was very cold.
Quantity is very less for the said amount.
Kruthik SA
The quantity was very bad
Karthik Rajendran
Ordered puliyogare, ambode and godhi payasam(NIP) for RS.89 really value for money, taste of puliyogare is authentic and temple style. for me disappointment is ambode which is delivered in cold condition.payasam is tasty.

Outer packing is really good but individual packing need to improve and other side in this price we can't expect more than that.

Sure will recommend to my friends and I will order repeatedly....

Idly was not fresh and cold. Sambhar . Chutney quantity was very less. . Not as per expectation and reviews. Zomato Delivery service was fast.

Puliyogare point is a popular name in Bangalore known for it's delicious south indian food specially their Puliyogare. I am really not a fan of this dish but it was good in taste but I have heard Veena Stores in Malleswaram also makes amazing Puliyogare. Pricing is cheap.

As the name says this place serves authentic taste Puliyogare. Best part is they serve both curd and chutney with it. Sakkar Pongal and Bisibele Bath are also very delicious. Jamoon and Godhi Thari Payasa were also good.

If you are around Basavanagudi and want to try some food which tastes like homemade do check-in here!
Rubber band found in their main dish puliyogare. Puliyogare not fresh either, it’s never hot. On showing the rubber band the waiter was arrogant and said such things happen. Kitchen unhygienic too. Plate in which puliyogare was served contained tea spill. Severely disappointing.
Chaitanya NVSK
The best puliyogare you can get in this whole Bangalore and such a taste ,with so quality ingredients, of course I have got fresh items even I ordered in odd time like 4 pm...Great service ,Great taste...bisibele bath is top after puliyogare...! Love Puliyogare point! Many memories stored in that place!

This restaurant servers the tasty food. Specially puliyogare and shakkara Pongal...but the quantity is very bad..u hardly get 8-10 spoons of anything you order. I ordered puliyogare and Pongal for 55 each and when it was delivered, the quantity was so little that it couldn't fill my stomach. I had to again order from different restaurant for fulfilling my stomach..
@restaurant, kindly server food for the value paid.
Thanks

This place is near my home. Very famous for authentic puliyogre (tamarind rice). This place have a decent seating arrangements. Food here is delicious and service is good too. You can have different authentic cusines like akki rotti, dosa, button idli, paddu, and some good sweet cusines like payasam, etc. I recommend this place evening cravings.
Cheers.

The puliyogare ordered was completely spoiled. Zomato should ensure such spoiled food is not delivered to customers. If the restaurant does not adhere to basic standards it should be removed from your platforms.

Another popular eatery in the Basavanagudi area.
The star dish of the place, obviously, is the one that it's named after, the humble puLiyogare.
After having heard about this place a lot, my expectations were set very high accordingly. I have to say that the puLiyogare fell short of matching the expectations. That isn't to say that it was bad, it just was good but not great.
Siddarth J
Small hotel... Low ceiling place... Very low hygiene..... Nothing special.... Just hype.... And bad thing is pulliyogare is very low taste... Totally Nothing special... Not recommended
Madhukesh D
As the name says, I tried puliyogare here. For ₹40 quantity seems to be less but taste wise it was really satisfying. I feel the authentic Iyengar style puliyogare, it was Pretty good place with good food.
Amit Lodaya
Puliyogre point is a decent joint serving limited items. Puliyogre undoubtedly the best dish of the restaurant, the other items served are average or above average. If you are near Gandhi Bazaar and looking for a quick bite, visit this place and have puliyogre.

Ambience is just okay and limited seats are available for sitting purpose
Dr Madhav Kulkarni
We just tried the puliyogare here. It was good. However, having tasted puliyogare at a number of places now, we didn't find it any different. But then what more can one expect from humble tangy spicy sweet rice:-) just tat I won't take a cab to go to this place just to taste the rice. Divesh Thaploo
