Review Sagar Delicacy - Bengaluru

Amar Amarnath
The food is just extraordinary, totally perfect, very well balanced taste. The service was wonderful. Very patient with the customer. I could keep going on and on with the compliments. This place deserves a great recognition.

The best thing about this place is the food itself. Pricing is a little steep on certain food (butter milk = Rs. 55/- per glass) but you'd be satisfied that the other food you had was good. It is a decent multi-cuisine restaurant at the heart of the city but the infrastructure could have been better. Air conditioned hall where they served me food was very small and packed and it was a weekend, so huge crowd for dinner. Normal, non-AC dining area was more spacious and could accommodate more guests without suffocating everyone but then I have not had food in that section and hence, I cannot really comment on it - except, it looks better than the AC section; modern-ish ambience. Menu is filled with a few names which I was familiar with and more names which were new to me; fully loaded! Orders were quickly taken and food was served pretty fast considering they had to prepare freshly some of which I had ordered. Hotel staff is pretty attentive and friendly which is a huge plus along with good food. They accept only cash and / or card payments and no UPI which also means no Google Pay, no Paytm, no PhonePay or any other services as such which is something they should look in to besides changing the interiors of the place to look fresh (especially the AC section). Not even for 5 minutes did people stop walking in to the restaurant and it was nearly full by the time we entered the place. All in all, it was a good dining experience and I found a good go-to hotel when I am in Halasuru. P.S. It is a VEG ONLY hotel and they also serve JAIN food. UPDATE: Visited the hotel again the next day evening and ordered an Onion Dose (AKA Dosa) and confirmed that it was indeed an actual Onion Dose and not the roasted Dose on which they pointlessly keep an Onion (how it is done in A2B hotels and their likes). By the way, it tasted good. I've shared more images with this update, of the NON-AC section of the hotel. It actually looks decent. There is a wash-basin inside the restroom which is also where the toilet is with a separate door inside. They are not the cleanest I have seen but they aren't very off-putting either except the toilet which needs more cleaning. There is NO western style toilet available but Indian style and if you are old or with bad knee(s), then you are better off not using it. Would I visit the place again some day? Most certainly!

A good classic old school Udupi style restaurant, they still make dishes the way we used to have during the good old days. Pocket friendly prices and quick service.

The service was wonderful. Very patient with the customer. I could keep going on and on with the compliments. This place deserves a great recognition.

Food is really good. Tastes more like home made. Price can be justified.

This restaurant provides a very fine dining experience. The tables are sparkly clean and the overall ambience is also very good. One should try the onion dosa which when paired with the sagu gives a very special experience. The coffee is served in a brass tumbler which is a nifty touch. This also has various other options for breakfasts and dessert.
venketesh gophane

A big fan of their dal khichdi. It's a unique taste and is awesome. Also the jain paneer dishes are delicious. Their packing containers seemed a bit low quality plastic though. Not sure if good for health.
Jagadeeshkumar
They just don't care about the customer at all.
Nikhil Krishna
The taste was good but I could find only two pieces of paneer in the spicy paneer tikka masala, Disappointed!!

I regularly visit this place for lunch. Tried most of the north Indian curries, North Indian meals and south Indian meals. Except for north Indian meals, other food items are delicious and you will enjoy every bite of your food. Service is good. Pocket-friendly restaurant.

They have AC-hall and non-ac hall arrangement.

Ratings:
Taste: 4/5
Quality: 4/5
Pocket-friendly: yes

The best jain food i ever ate. At the time of ordering i was scared whether it would be without onion and garlic or not but after having it i loved the taste thanks to the chef for the food.
Sreedevi Sundararajan
Not so great. Tried their gobi manchurian, coffee and sagar special manchurian which is idly manchurian. Very bland in taste and coffee was not so great. This restaurant quality has gone down.
Sonali Mirpuri
Yummy South Indian food. Crispy dosas, and vadas. I like the sambar here as well. Typical southern joint. Love how comforting the food is. Would definitely come back.

One of the worst place to have a peaceful time while having food. Service is worst and to the extent that you complain and you can get manhandled. They have a policy of serving food at their will and the customer should accept it as it is. They are open enough to accept that their service is bad and who so ever visits the place should accept it as it is. If you want to loose your cool you are welcome. They also argue that even if food s served cold we should accept it. God save such people.
Shushruth K.p
Ordered veg handi biryani, I was given the option of with mushrooms or without mushrooms and I opted for without mushrooms. Taste of the biryani was nice. Service was good and the staff were friendly. Please ask for onions if you are someone who likes to have onions.

Really good place for north indian food. Love the Dal khichadi. Worth the money. Would love to visit the place again and again...............

Been here based on my friend's suggestion. Starters aren't that good, and hence a big no. But the curries are decent. Few must try curries pepper masala for the spicy lovers and kaaju masala for the sweet lovers. And another satisfying dish is Dal kichdi.
Gaurav
A nice place to go for a family dinner to, especially for Vegetarians. The food tastes good and is also within an affordable budget.
I would highly recommend the Veg Patiyala.
The staff is also friendly. The ambience could however be improved a bit.
Megha
It's a decent place to eat.
The food is not expensive but really delicious.
We had pepper fry, makhanwala, keema and butter naan, all of it was nice.
The service was quick too.
Shi
Amazing food, mouthwatering starter (paneer manchurian) , smacky chineese (mushroom noodles), thats not all. Pizza was simply superb. Must try this place if u r around
Anusha Shankar
Visited this place many a times. reasonable rate and tastes. Awesome food..... specially you should try Gobi Manchurian and North Indian gravies.
Sonica Krishnamurthy
It's a regular dining place near ulsoor lake.. manchow soup was just awesome with the right taste but cream of mushroom had less creaminess , with starters mushroom tikka was good, but veg ball Manchurian wasn't cooked properly and paneer Manchurian lacked flavour and taste. Methi Malai curry was soothing and good but vegetable curry not up to the mark and finally curd rice was average. So overall the place is definitely worth a try with good service and prices at reasonable range.

Have visited this place quite often...no complaints whatsoever....
The ambience is great....food tastes great...competitively priced....and on par with the quantity served!!
A must visit...
Recommended dish: Veg Patiala... This makes your belly really heavy.... But it's totally worth it!

Very tasty side dishes and fresh rotis. This place is great for pure veggies looking for quality north Indian food. Restaurant is small and sometimes the service a little slow. But otherwise it is value for money for the quality of food offered.
Sandeep Das
Nice vegetarian food. The service is very fast and taste is awesome. There are good selection too. Although space is a constraint however advance booking or takeaway is also possible. Food prices are also moderate. Overall a good place
Rinki Musaddi
Well a very average restaurant with decent menu.. Went here for a quick lunch with colleague! We order hot & sour soup and paneer butter masala with tandoori roti - overall good food..
Meat Man
this is one place u could just put your finger on absolutely anything and be quite confident that it would be pretty good. have been going here for many years now...a lot has changed with the deco and refurnishing but the quality has remained the same ... Lived on a walking distance of about 30 meters from the place for all these years :P

Kudos to the guys who run it !!
Dr Yashaswini K
Considerably small place but always full. Been here recently. Ordered methi mutter malai, veg pepper gravy, pudina roti, curd rice and chum chum.
Service is little slow but ok. Nothing great about ambience.
Coming to the food, the pudina roti was gud. Loved the methi mutter malai, just yummy! Veg pepper gravy was avg, was spicy as mentioned but not a great taste. Plus was flooded with artificial colours. Curd rice was normal.
Chum chum was coated with coconut! Too coconutty. Didn't taste that gud. Over all an average restaurant for lunch. Can visit again

Okay for meals but could skip. The chilli cheese toast was a disaster . With shanti sagar in the vicinity I'm not too sure if this is really an option. Might go back.
Subash Chandra Bose
Costly place. Slow service. Just ordered a sandwich and waited for long. Waiters take customers for granted even though the restaurant was empty!
Shamik
Food is decent but the quantity not good enough for certain items. Sometimes the food takes too long to come to the table and the waiters response is very slow. Sometimes they are so inattentive that if you have ordered and later changed your mind and want to cancel it then the waiter will make some mistake and give you the order that you didn't want. Overall "Ok "place but there are other veg restos to check out in this area.
Ajay
Great north indian food. Loved their handi biryani and paneer makhani. Service is exceptionally attentive . The decor is nothing to write about, but if you have a craving for good north indian food, you know where to head.
Dhanishtha Jugal Chavan

One of my regular place to eat out..
Affordable nd good food with good nd cozy environment. ... if you're a vegetarian den ds place is for you...dey serve nice Handi Biriyani nd Paneer Malai Kofta... Sandwich is also quite good...but never try Chopsey here..!! All over its good...

This restaurant re-iterates the fact that - Looks can indeed be deceptive. A small place located by the side of Ulsoor Lake and when you first look at it, your taste buds would definitely not get aroused.
They mainly have North Indian Punjabi cuisine though not of the authentic type. All the vegetables and curries are well made and cooked to perfection. Have tried most of the vegetables mentioned in the menu and for a small place like this, they do have all the items listed.
Not sure of the time taken for service since I have always ordered on the phone and have taken my order as a take-away.
Definitely a place worth trying out.
Kalpesh Sharma
Very good place.. Awesome food... only thing is you have to wait for a long time..
Swati Kedia
This is a horrible place with no quality in food. I ordered for a thali and it was just not upto the mark. Food is served hot but without taste. There was a cockroach on the table as well . Will never visit again.

First of all. Its a pure veg restuarant. Pretty decent place. Delicious food ever eaten. Good sevice. The only problem is that you cannot park your vehicle near the hotel and the is no room for waiting.
Satheesh Chandran
Good services and excellent ambiance but less varieties,
Ranjit Gopalan
The place where i spend on weekends with my family. Good and tasty veg
Hemanth Choudary
Change the manager here! Picks up a fight since we complained about the small chole bowl and requested for some additional chole.
Order - Chole bhatura
Vinay Sathyam
Small little place near the lake :) .. cozy n comfy ...
This place is a must visit if you are bound to your bucks and would'nt compromise on quality and quantity ....
Parking is towards the street side and quite limited ...
Pretty decent ambiance and courteous staff , The lighting is slightly dingy (I felt it was not well lit) .
Coming to the food ... One biiiiiig menu with pretty affordable prices ...
visited this place with a group of 3 friends for dinner on a sunday night around 10 15 ...
For starters it was dragon paneer , well prepared and the quantity worth the price . But it was prepared way to sweet but was tasty when accompanied with chilly sauce .
Main course was stuffed naan , roti and a paneer based gravy (I dont remember the name) which tasted exceptionally good ..
Also had a lil mushroom fried rice which was not that great (MSG MSG MSG !!!!! ) ,,,

Recommended place for jains and pure vegetarians .

Value for money - 9.5/10
Ambiance - 6/10
Service - 7/10
food quality - 9/10
Presentation - 8/10

This has to be one of the cheapest places in Bangalore to serve paneer dishes starting at Rs.95. with generous portions!. A not so fancy restaurant though when it comes to its ambiance and decor. All in all a good place for veggies which doesn't pinch your pockets!
Vishwas Ramdas
I would recommend this place for Veggies, nice place, not expensive also for the quality and quantity they server.
