If you are a true continental cuisine lover, you have to try this place.. meat rightly done, not overloaded with spices, served perfectly and a warm staff... love the ambiance, felt like we were in Paris Restaurants.. must visit..
Great food and service. The platter was amazing, and the ribs were delicious. Will definitely visit again!
With a heavy heart, here's bidding farewell to one of the most talked about restaurants in the city. With the news of it shutting down strapped all over instagram, the restaurant was packed with everyone coming down to eat their favourite meal one last time.
We rushed to have one last meal before we finally bid adieu. For starters we ordered char siu pork fillet - which was sous vide pork fillet served with buttered cauliflower puree, radish celery pickle and char siu glaze. It is by far the best pork starter I've had, cut into bite sized pieces, we finished the entire plate in a blink of the eye. (5/5)
For main course we had ordered TSC roast chicken and a beef fillet steak. The roast chicken tasted absolutely delicious with the only complaint being it wasn't as filling and left us wanting for more. (4/5)
The fillet steak (cooked well done) was cooked well, the accompaniments were absolutely delicious and complemented the steak perfectly. (4/5)
Lastly for the dessert I had ordered flan with burnt caramel. The dessert was very average and there was a very strong burnt taste from the caramel for my liking. Maybe all the delicious starters and main course made us hype the dessert so much only to be disappointed. (3/5)
Never the less, we're glad we had the chance to visit this place before it shut down. Here's to hoping the @thesmokeco.blr soon comes up with another food venture.
The ambience and food was a perfect match and I couldn't have had a better experience. Loved each and every dish I tried, especially the Malabar fish and bbq pork ribs.
It feels very ironic to be writing a review of a restaurant on very the day it’s shutting down, but hey, that’s life for you.
It’s also ironic that despite TSC having lingered on my wishlist for a very long time, only news of its closing finally got me scrambling for a reservation.
Lastly, and perhaps the most ironic twist of fate, I thoroughly enjoyed almost everything I had at TSC and now I’m grappling with the realization that I can never go back there again.
And now, the review.
I went to TSC on Saturday, their second-last working day, and found (to no one’s surprise) that the place was completely packed. News that TSC, which opened in 2017, was shutting down was plastered all over my Instagram feed and everyone was trying to squeeze one last meal in.
From their cocktail selection, I tried the Kentucky Apple Pie, which tasted exactly what you’d hope an alcoholic cinnamony liquid apple pie would taste like.
I also tried the Keffirberry cocktail- a little a too sour for my taste - but it cut through the fat from all the meat we had consumed very effectively.
My cousin had the Salty Julien and Tropical Coconut mocktails. It’s very refreshing to see a restaurant pay as much attention to the quality of its mocktails as it does for its cocktails, and the Salty Julien was a standout.
The best thing we ordered by far and away was the Char Siu sous vide Pork Fillet. I’d never had anything cooked sous vide before, and after tasting the fillet I feel like I’ve been missing out. The pork was cut into small bite sized pieces coated with the char siu sauce that melted in your mouth.
It tasted, at the same time, more different and yet more pork-ier than any other pork dish I’ve tried.
More flavorful, more soft, so very more-ish.
The next item we had was the Naga Beef with Goan bread. This packed a punch but the tender beef sort of got lost in the strong masala. In my opinion, still good but the least exciting thing we ordered.
After that we stuck to pork dishes. We tried the 12-hour pulled pork shoulder, which comes with coleslaw, bread and corn on the cob. They have a variety of sauces to accompany the pork, but we really enjoyed the Memphis BBQ sauce. Another melt-in-the-mouth dish. The shoulder can be tough if it isn’t cooked perfectly, and unlike other places I’ve tried pulled pork, there was no un-subtle chewing to force the meat down my gullet.
The next one we opted for was one of their famed charcuterie boards. On the server’s recommendation, we tried the country ham. It came on a large wooden platter accompanied with pickled cucumbers, mango relish, diced apple, arugula (I think?) and two varieties of sinus-clearing mustard. It was an inspired choice to end the meal because you’re almost at your limit and it sort of forces you to go slower, assembling and enjoying each morsel.
We were originally going for the bone marrow, based off some recommendations online but they’d already finished their lunch stock and I think my heart broke a little.
Desserts were really nothing special. There was a mixup that led to us getting two desserts, the choco peanut butter pie and the churros. The pie was alright, but very heavy on the peanut butter and you grow tired of the taste after a while.
The churros were cooked in slightly stale oil, which was immediately noticeable, but besides that they were okay. I took only umbrage at the chocolate sauce because they’d used way too many chili flakes/seeds to add a kick.
All in all, great place, a great time, a great ambience. It’s sad I can’t come back because it’s very rare to find a place in Bangalore that takes cooking good meat well as seriously as TSC does (did, I guess).
Surprisingly I had to be there just one day before they close their doors! And I don't know why it took me so long to be there.
Started with Rum Panna and Kaffirberry.
Then spaetzle crispy potato and parmesan, had to order 12 hours pulled beef, was still greedy, hence ordered roast chicken, and tofu steak was a bit dry but I wouldn't know (because I don't really know how vegetarian food taste like 😃)
AND for dessert, I had ordered pork and beef keilbasa!!!
Today is the last day, if anyone is missing out! Please visit, before you feel sorry for not visiting smoke co.
I write this review so that I will not forget what I had yesterday!
Management, hope you come back with another smoke co real soon. For a very long time, I have never felt so satisfied after having the first bite! You did it!!!
If you are a lover of smoked ribs, Smokey bbq chicken wings this is the place you gotta hit..! Best food n craft beer is amazing ..! But sadly it’s shutting down .. last but not the least one of the best place in Koramangala till date ..!♥️
I can’t believe this place is closing on the 12th of this month. Today was my last time here. I have such beautiful memories and always had a phenomenal dining experience everytime I stepped into the restaurant. From the tiny appetisers served right after you place your order that literally awaken your taste buds this place was a true blue meat heaven . I have indulged extensively in the platter , chicken and pork mains and not forget the creamy potato, spinach and macaroni sides . This season seems to be heavy on the soul having to let go of Tony Stark and Smoke Co.
There are very few restaurants that I get emotional about, the Smoke Co. is one of them. The quality of food is impeccable, their service is efficient and just the sheer effort put in by the team is delivering excellence. Their smoked meats are seriously the best I’ve had in the country and are at par with any you’d get outside! It’s a real tragedy that they are shutting down. Testament to the statement that good things don’t last :(
Being the meat lover I am, have been wanting to visit here for a long time now and finally got the chance recently....this place is a beautiful one with an excellent ambience inside....I had their chicken wings and Southern fried chicken and both were remarkably well made....the place is famous for dishes prepared using smoking and curing techniques and for any meatlover it's a must visit place in Bangalore.....the saddest part is the fact that the restaurant will close down after coming 2 weeks.....so I believe if you really love meat prepared in different ways, then this place is a must visit before it closes down....
An awsome lunch with some hungry tummies.
My first and last lunch at Smoke Co. not because I didn’t like it but they are closing for gud. The only ages and smoked meat restaurant for a carnivore in the country is closing their doors for gud😔
The dishes were amazing smoked pork ribs well balanced taste perfectly smoked.
12 hr smoked pulled pork perfect balance of ingredients.
And of course the charcuterie platter. Totally amazing stuff, gonna miss this for sure😔
Had come to this restaurant for coffee. Had this coffee called cafe bombon. The coffee was yum. And looks awesome.
Had come earlier to this place for its slow cooked meat, which was awesome. I suggest bbq chicken and hush puppies.
A must visit for every meat lover. The owner and chef are extremely passionate and you can see that being translated into the food. It's got a green house like feel with great day light equally amazing after sunset. Don't miss out on their sausages and special sauces and rubs.
Lovely place! The food was just awesome! It was smoky and delicious and the meat was well clocked. They have managed to create an ambience inside of a spacious hall with the limited space in the crowded Koramangala neighborhood. Amazing service. Very friendly wait staff made sure we were well looked after. My colleague tells me they have an impressive wine cellar and other drinks. It's a bit upmarket in terms of cost, but food is worth it. Try the beef Burnt Ends 👌👌
Delicious barbecue with some dishes having an Indian twist. The barbecue is traditional southern United States of America style. Restaurant is a bit expensive but it's worth the price and the portions are pretty large. The kielbasa sausage and the pulled pork and beef is really delicious and juicy.
The place is quite new, opened a couple of months ago. It's a meat eaters' paradise so vegetarians beware although there are a couple of veg dishes too! 😉
The first round was food and drinks was just wow! Except for the quantity and the price! But the second round onwards everything went downhill.
The cocktail seemed milder, the bone marrow dish was a massive disappointment and the main course platter was a bit of a hit and miss.
Overall for the price or charges, it could have been way better.
Well designed and executed menu. Food is phenomenal and the cocktails are on point. Definitely a splurge, a place I'd reserve a table at for special occasions. We got a couple of starters, cocktails and main course. The chef knows how to please and wow the diner! The only thing that was a miss for me was dessert, at 350 a pop the tree leches cake was too sweet! The cake supposed to be a celebration of milk in three forms namely milk, evaporated milk and condesnsed milk and the glorious natural sweetness milk brings, however what we got taste was doused in a sugar syrup instead of restrained mellow sweetness.
Fabulous place, they cure their meats in house. The quality is great. The kind of dishes are very different and well made. Well priced too!
This restuarant has a wooden interior with a view of little green outside and a mini wine cellar. The food is amazing! I normally don't recommend sea-food at a landlocked city like Bangalore, but it should not be missed at this place. The food tastes like heaven and is authentic to it's description in the menu. The servers are polite and do not miss a beat. Note: the restaurant prepares their sauces, gravies, base etc from scratch and in-house.
Shame this place is closing down!
Absolutely loved the restaurant. Brilliant ambience and interiors. The food was perfectly marinated and cooked to utter deliciousness without a doubt. Their cured meats, sausages, steaks and seafood did not disappoint, but the restaurant closing down sure does!
Absolutely unmissable place for meatlovers, with all kinds of meats available in all sorts of treatments. Enough to drive you crazy.
The Smoke Platter is strongly recommended which has portions of four different kinds of meats/sausages etc. If you order two of the platters, it pretty much covers all the kinds of meats possible. They have a smoked bone marrow that has an unusual taste. The desserts are strongly recommended too. We didn't try the super-imaginative cocktails!
Since they are new and already quite crowded, service takes a bit of time but the food absolutely makes up for it!
Amazing place. A must visit for those who like smoked meats and cheeses.
Has the charcuterie platter with chorizo, jamon, tuna and a beef sausage. Each better than the other. The Mango jam they serve it with is to die for and the mustard packs a mean punch.
For mains had the pan seared Barramundi on a bed of potato and a carrot sauce. Truly amazing and the fish was fresh, firm and cooked just right.
Service was impeccable. And the ambience is fantastic.
All in all a must visit, many times over
