Review Surya Refreshments - Bengaluru

Ajit Bhaskar
Vintage darshini. Good idli vadE, dippu, shavige bath. Their kesaribath is fantastic. Perfect amount of sweetness for me, with chunks of pineapple. Their kharabath is ultimate as well. Their chutney is fresh and delicious. Kaapi is on the weaker side. Very cost effective place, with excellent thindi :) lo title hard to locate as there is no English nameboard.

One underrated place of iconic malleswara!! Idli, vade, chutney, sambar, dose, khara baath, jamoon, coffee all are super good and this place is close to me personally!! So do try.

Just amazing and authentic idli, vada, khara bath, kesari bath, rice bath, masala dosa and everything they prepare and serve... The chutney is the main attraction and one will just love it (you can actually eat just that :P).. This hotel in Malleshwaram is probably 3 decades old and I've been coming here since 15 years. If you are in/around Malleshwaram and fond of idli/chutney and quick bite, then visit this place.

I used to go and eat here when i was in school, probably 15-20 years ago. I visited a couple days ago and has the same taste. Vada and idly is my favorite. They have managed to keep the same taste for chutney for over two decades. Simply awesome.
Raghavendra M M
Very nice place for tasty food. We liked too much. Cost is very reasonable

Hidden gem for serving some tasty idli's in Malleswaram for over 2 decades or more. Has been kept away from the hype still... kharabath , avalakki, and a lot of options for vegetarian food in Malleswaram

Personally I felt idli and other items here are much better than Veena stores. Must try
Badri
Idli and Vada are simply superb. Way better than some of overly hyped eateries in Malleswaram.

Surya Refreshments is located in Sampige Road, Malleshwaram 11th cross and it is opposite to Jirage building, next to Mumbai Bistro, Nearby to Canara Bank. It is more crowded in weekends since most of the  breakfast & Coffee Lovers can be seen in this restaurant & I am seeing this restaurant from 2 decades.<br/><br/>Best place to hang out with Colleagues & friends and it is having only outdoor standing arrangement facility on the footpath. There is no dedicated parking arrangements available in the restaurant. It is a self service restaurant.<br/><br/>Surya Refreshments have options of breakfast items like Idli + Vada, Dosa, Karabath, Beveragess, Kesaribath, Avalakki bath and Shavigee bath and I have tried Idli + Vada combination with Chutney , Khara Bath and can suggest to try  Idli + Vada combination, Avalakki bath and Price is reasonable at this outlet and it is easy for quick bites in the mornings.<br/><br/>Overall, <br/>Food- 3.5/5 <br/>Ambience- 3/5<br/>Service - 3.5/5<br/>Value for money - 4/5<br/>Overall Rating - 3.6<br/><br/>Note: For Parcel, always try to carry vessels and avoid plastic.<br/><br/>"Be a part of the solution, not a part of the pollution"

I loved the food provided in this hotel very affordable and very tasty... Finding the parking place was a challenge here and the hotel is crowded due to the tasty food available here. Best place to have good and affordable food in Malleswaram... Try it out on a weekday so the hotel is a bit free and u can enjoy the food more peacefully

Year back this was a good place to have south Indian foods in malleshwaram 11thcross but in my last visit there was no that crowd and even food taste also not like previous one!!😐<br/><br/>They lost there original taste!! 😗<br/><br/>I took idly vada! In that chutney was not at all taste! 😫<br/><br/>Disappointed!! 😐

I have never been tasted such a wonderful idli sambar and specially is flawless chutney<br/>All food severed Jain style<br/>No onion garlic<br/>Best food ever very clean
SHARATH YADAV
Food quality was pathetic, packing was horrible. Madur vada was dry and not fresh, it was without chutney. It was like some thin layer of biscuit.<br/>

Stopped here for a quick breakfast with my best friend.<br/>We had idli vada and a hot coffee.<br/>There is no seating here.<br/>Food is good.<br/>Service is quick

Another gem in Malleswaram, which grew up from a hole in the wall to the current form.<br/><br/>Good South Indian breakfast is their calling card. Not just idlis and vada (a common theme in Malleswaram) but dosas too. Unlike Veena and Raghavendra stores, you will not feel rushed.<br/><br/>Idlis are soft and sumptuous. Vadas a tad crispy. So is the kesari bath and shavige bath. My favorite location for the avalakki.<br/><br/>If Google location could be challenging, so if you are coming on Sampige road it is the right turn at Reliance trends store.

Again a amazing place to try south Indian food in Malleswaram! Their idlies are so so mouth wateringly delicious!! Loved it. The location is little difficult to find but when we have google maps why worry!

The food is on par with the famous veena stores. The food, price wise is not so friendly on the pocket. A slight reduction in the price for a few products can be done. The store is usually crowded and a reduction in price should not affect the profits.<br/><br/>A good eat! But slightly less value for money when compared to hotels selling a similar fare.

Among the best chutneys in town and if you like your Vadas crisp then do have them there. They do make a nice avlakki bath as well. Dosas are available only in the evenings and on Sunday for breakfast. Overall a nice no frills place living up to the standards that malleshwaram has set over time

One of the best places in Malleswaram for a quick snack. Start off with a plate of idly vada & if you have a good appetite go for chow-chow bath next. I rate this much higher than veena stores as the rates are pretty reasonable and the quality is not compromised. The chutney they provide over the idly is their USP. Tastes like heaven😍
Rishabh Rander
Excellent Idlis and Vadas! Chutney is equally good and compliments the Idlis very well. Good place to have a quick breakfast. The next best Idlis to veena stores in Malleswaram.
Swapna
This tiny self service eatery is located on the 11th cross. The idli, vada and chutney combination is really the best that i have had in Malleshwaram. <br/><br/>I rate this place higher than the more fancied places like Veena stores and Raghavendra stores in Malleshwaram. Ofcourse, rates are much lower.

Supposedly the Vada is best here. I found it crisp, fresh with tasty chutney. But I am not capable of rating it against other Vadas from the very many traditional eateries in Malleswaram. Stand and eat only place but they do have tables for standing and eating unlike Veena Stores where you have to stand on roadside and eat.

I visit here almost everyday. Idli vadi will be my first choice. It will be heavenly. Chàtni is the best part. And I love it. Manageable crowd. Lunch time it's little more crowded.
Vishal Bharadwaj
One of the three restaurants that serve good idlis in Malleshwaram. Try the Khara bath and Kesari bath Combination and the Panaka apart from the Idli Vada. The quality has deteriorated through the years but its still crowded due to the its fame in the yesteryears<br/>Food: 4/5<br/>Staff: 3.5/5<br/>Cost: 4/5
Sriharikrishna Madhukar
I have been visiting this place since I was a child. They have maintained the same quality over the years as per my observations.<br/><br/>Idly  is very good. The taste resembles that served at Veena Stores.<br/>Vada is crispy and goes very well with the chutney served.<br/>Rice bath and Shyavige bath taste home-made without the gaudy masala used elsewhere.<br/>Puliyogare is just fine.<br/><br/>No place to sit. <br/><br/>Don't miss out especially if mom hasn't cooked breakfast and you badly need to have one! ;)<br/><br/>Cheers!

Around Malleshwaram 11th Cross? Visit this Surya Refreshments without fail for some very nice breakfast dishes. I personally liked Khara Bath with Vada more than a Idly. The Kharabath tastes similar to the ones at legendary restaurants. Little spice level in the Chutney could have done better is what i felt, being a Spicy food lover. The Vadas are crispy and loved the texture of it. The Prices are reasonable. A recommended place for a Breakfast!
Chaitra Govindaraju (Life On Plates)
A very small outlet which serves amazing south Indian dishes. A good place for breakfasts. Idly is real soft and blends well with the chutney they give. Uddina Vade is fried to perfect golden brown and crunchy when you take a bite. Kara bath is another dish I tried, which was good too. There's no place to sit. The place is maintained well and the staff is friendly in approach :)<br/>Food - 4/5<br/>Service - 4/5<br/>Vfm- 5/5

Food is good and tasty. People say it's like veena stores, but I feel lot of difference in taste of food compare to veena stores.(veena stores is much much better I feel). I like the khara bath here, which is plain and good. You will get dosas also here which you will not get in veena stores.

One of the unsung hero of malleshwaram. I have been a frequent visitor to this place since 13 odd years. Its a small little place on 11th cross and most of the dishes are a 5 on 5 for the taste and the best part is they are consistent in maintaining the quality over the years. Apart from the Idli vadas, the chow chow bath is a must try here. Sevige bath, puliyogre and the rice rasam during lunch is delicious. My No. 1 place in malleshwaram for south indian breakfast.
Ravikanth Eranki
A fantastic must visit place for breakfast and short eats. I have been a regular visitor for a decade now and every time its been a tasteful experience.<br/><br/>Resembles Veena stores on most counts but these guys do add onion where it is required<br/><br/>Must taste breakfast include:<br/>Idli and vada, chow chow bath. Rice items like vangi bath, ghee rice and puliyogare. Add it with a dash of filter coffee. Don't miss to ask for an extra serving of the chutney and let the taste linger in the mouth. Kesari bath is the one for people with sweet tooth.<br/><br/>If you are there for lunch don't miss to drink the chilled ginger lemon juice and buttermilk along with your choicest serving of sambar rice with masala vada and papad.<br/><br/>A awesome place to treat your self with a steaming hot tiffin on a cold winter Bangalore morning. <br/><br/>You have to stand and eat. Better pack for the family. <br/><br/>Have a great day!
