The foods were awesome specially fish paturi and dab chingri. But their sanitization method is not good. No temperature was checked at the time of entry and they did not sanitize the tables also. In this pandemic situation, these steps should be taken what I feel.
Oh well, what can I say! It's so pleasing and nice when you get a chance to write a review with a smile, and the food is so good that even after driving back home you want to make sure you appreciate these guys!
Hope I made it quite clear by my mood after a foodgasm state. Let's start with the dish that blew my mind, Bhetki Pathuri. All I can say is it's better than the best places that I have had in Kolkata, and what Sorse these guys have used. Blew my mind!
We ended up trying a lot of food, highlights apart from the one mentioned above were Fish Orly (quite brilliant), Mangshor Chop, by far the best Mishti Doi outside Kolkata and finally the Nolen Gur Ice cream.
Hats Off to you guys for this amazingly cooked meal. Thank you and keep it up!
I have spent significant amount of time in Kolkata and I absolutely love Bengali food.
When I moved to Bangalore I had a hard time finding a good place for Bengali food. Over the years I did discover quite a few places.
Recently I went to esplande, a restaurant I have passed by many times but never dined in. .
The food is up to the standard. The only problem for me was that they don't have chicken biryani in their menu which is a disappointment.
The fish kaviraji was a bit oily. I ordered mutton kosha which was heavenly.
Fish fry @esplanade_blr
One of the best fish fries are served at this Bengali cuisine restaurant. Wish to go back there after lockdown ♥️
Have been hearing of this place n one fine Sunday afternoon decided to try out a sumptuous bengali style lunch. The decors were nice n cozy and would give u n ardent bengal type feeling. We had ordered all types of courses served n we were not disappointed.
1. Gondho raj ghol:- Tasty bengali style chas mixed with gondho raj lemon. A heavenly mocktail on a bright sunny day
2. Mangsho Chop:- Sumptuous pieces of mixed mutton chop served with kasundi n salad- tasted great
3. Macher Matha Daal:- an appropriate amalgamation of fish bones n moong daal combined with right amount of spices.
4. Aloo bhaja- Finely sliced n diced potatoe fries an all time favorite of Bengali s while eating hot steam rice n daal 🙂
5. Baked Sorse Bhetki:- Sorse combined with traditional Bengali spices and served over boneless baked bhetki. One word- Delicious
6. Mutton Kosha:- The pic itself should speak a thousand words ,based on a suggestion from a food blog in social media we decided to give it a shot. I came to know that the actual cooking is a slow n steady process of heating it over 4 hrs. Well it's worth it. Gave a wonderful feeling along with steam rice.
7. Nolen Gurer Ice Cream:- A sweet dish that Bengali s have just patented on there own. Ice cream served with fresh brewed jaggery .Little dollops of heaven .
A superb experience, and express interest to re-visit. Good job guys.👍👍👍👌👌👌
What's not to love. Honestly an amazing experience. Try calling in before hand to get the table booked. It won't be available on zomato. You need to call and book. They will hold the table for max 5 minutes since it's always full. The food is amazing. You can try anything and you won't go wrong. The baked Rasgulla for dessert was the cherry on top.
Went for lunch and loved the authentic Bengali dishes. Fish kobiraji, dal, jhuri potato fry, fish in mustard sauce, daab chicken....all the dishes were delicious! The ambience is nice, they have valet parking...Highly recommended!
This has to be one of the must-visit places when you're looking for amazing Bangali food in Bangalore. Their luchi and mutton kosha is sure to remind you of home! Their fish orly is basically fish batter fry as we know it in Kolkata, slightly on the oilier side but tastes delicious nonetheless. For some more portions of authentic Bangali taste, you must order their bhetkir paturi and daab chingri. If you're one of those people who need something to sip alongside good food, then order their gondhoraaj mojito which will leave you refreshed with its strong, familiar aroma. Their desserts seemed subject to availability, so we had to order chhanar jilipi with ice cream. Overall, a scrumptious affair with Bengali cuisine is what you'll get here!
This is the place for authentic bengoli cuisine .the environment was nice.it looked posh and the service was really great. Food was really tasty.
All is well, when it ends well. Rasagolla was fabulous and so was the mishti doi. Thanks for such lovely desserts
Esplanade in Bangalore's bustling Indiranagar is a hidden gem for Bengali cuisine enthusiasts. We decided to experience their Bengali buffet, having wisely pre-booked a table a week in advance, and boy, were we glad we did, especially during the crowded festivities of Nobomi Durga Puja.
The standout feature of Esplanade is its mouthwatering array of Bengali delicacies. The menu boasts an impressive selection, including the delicate and flavorful bhetki paturi, richly spiced chicken, the hearty mutton dakbungalow, and the creamy chingri malai curry. Personally, I found the prawn dish to be the true star, surpassing the delicious paturi.
But it doesn't end with the main course. Esplanade also shines in its dessert offerings. We relished the sweet delights of misthi doi, chanar jalebi, and roshmalai. The meal was complemented by a delightful variety of papod and two types of chutney, adding the perfect balance of flavors.
The only caveat is the restaurant's popularity, which leads to a crowded ambiance, especially during festivals like Durga Puja. To avoid disappointment, pre-booking is a must.
In summary, Esplanade is a haven for authentic Bengali cuisine in Bangalore. If you're in search of a culinary adventure that's rich in flavor and tradition, this restaurant is a must-visit, provided you secure your reservation well in advance.
Located at indranagar above chowman- this is a nice place for Bengali cuisine. The menu spread is a lot like the 6 Ballygunge place. The taste is nice overall but I have had better Bengali cuisine before this in Bangalore itself. But the staff service is very nice and polite . Dishes we had fish fry, gondhoraj mojito, luchi , cholar dal, Polao, mutton kosha . Totoal bill was 2100
For long I was craving a Fish Kabiraji like it's made in my hometown, finally the day is today I satisfied my cravings.
Located in Indiranagar near the Metro Station just above Chowman (another favorite joint of me originating since kolkata days), the restaurant is super ambient with hints of a bengali fine dine.
You get both indoor and outdoor seating (smoking not allowed), the servers welcome you well and first thing I liked is the Menu. The menu is a whole book, legit with leather and don't know I felt very good taking the menu in my hands.
We ordered Fish Kabiraji, Chicken Braised Cutlet, Paanchphoron Chicken with Steamed Rice and ended our meal with Roshogollar Payesh (5 stars to that).
SUROJIT has been a great server and well attended our table.
I'll sneak in someday again in afternoon to satisfy my cravings for my home food. Might be visiting again during Durga Puja, this outlet remains one of my favorites list in Bangalore! 👏 Kudos to food, service and ambience, top notch!
I fell in awe of the food of this place. Shoutout to the chef!!
The ambience or the service may not be something to write home for, but the food is absolutely lipsmacking.
Weekends have a huge waiting time (1 hour or more) but bear that time. Let your hunger brew because its worth it.
The prawn, fish cutlets were amazing. Mutton Jhol Basanti Pulao was too good.
The Fish Kobiraji was heavenly!!
I ordered the Daab Chingdi. If you are not a fan of coconut milk, skip it. If you like it, then you are in for a treat.
Amazing fine dining Bengali restaurant in the heart of Indiranagar. Close to the metro station.
We ordered a bunch of starters and two main course .
The Afghani mutton was the first of its kind , lacked the lamb flavour , but was crispy and tasted good .
The betki fish was deep fried and crispy and tasted the best out of all starters ordered.
The mango drink aam porar and gondoraj drink tasted great and appetizing.
The hilsa here was spoken loud about and dint disappoint us . Served with rice and the mustard gravy was great .
The prawn coconut curry served in tenter coconut tasted amazing .
Overall ambience was stunning and the service personal was polite .
Tried the 5 spice chicken gravy with rice and it tasted exactly like my mom's home made chicken curry. And the mango lassi to pair with it was great! The ambiance is very posh and service is good. However, it's very expensive.

The Bengali food served here is really tasty and has good proportions.
We ordered Motorshuti Kochuri, Chicken Panchfodon, Basanti pulav, chhanar kaliya, fish fry, Baked roshogolla.
Fish fry and baked roshogolla were outstanding and other items were all tasty.
Satisfied with the proportion and taste of the food. Must recommended if wanting to have Bengali food in Bangalore.
Valet parking is a plus.
Service is a bit slow and there may be long queues specially on weekends so would be good to arrive with time in-hand.
Staffs are friendly and customers can talk in Bengali to waiters and manager.
Good place to have delicious Bengali food, nice ambience and service but the hilsa fish that we ordered didn't seem to be fresh which was a disappointment..rest of the dishes were quite tasty.
Authentic bengali cuisine and excellent ambience . Although prices are on the higher side but the quantity and quality was good. Worth going once in a while . Best of them was Daab Chingri, a must try.
