Review Coconut Grove - Bengaluru

It is an amazing restaurant! Simplicity to its best! The decor is pure and beautiful! The food is authentic and genuine deliciousness. Loved everything there. Couldn't click many food pics. Non veg starters with chicken are very few. Biryani, Kerala style. The one thing you should definitely take.

Amazing kerala food, Ambience and friendly staff. Tried out appam and chicks stew. The taste was spectacular. The wait was a bit long. The service is good but can be improved slightly in terms of attending customers. Highly recommended.

If you love Kerala food, this is the place to go to. Check out the mutta appam, chicken and shrimp. Downed with lime soda and Malabar moru. Plus there's beer. The outdoor seating area on the first floor is the place to be. But if that's taken, the indoor seating's good too. Depending on the food, some of the preparation can be oily. So best to ask the waiter if you aren't sure about the menu.

This is a great place to hang out with family, friends, or if you happen to be on a date. Ambience is awesome and the folks who work here are inviting and friendly. Food tastes amazing, and the alcohol is surprisingly affordable. Can’t find any legitimate reason to whine. Recommend it for sure.

This restaurant serves kerala cuisine food...the thali is sufficient for one person...the ambience is made according to the house boat structure....overall nice place to have comfort south indian food....mUST try is the payasam....full marks on the hygiene and cleanliness of the place

It was a splendid taste of Kerala. I liked all the dishes we tried. Idiyappam, Muttappam, Kerala Poratta, Mutton curry and egg curry. Nice ambience and all dishes were very well served. But yeah, way too costly. You can't afford to go on a regular basis. But giving it a short is worth it.

Excellent choice for an authentic South-Indian fine dining experience! The menu items are moderately priced (for a fine dining restaurant), with no main course dish or starter exceeding 500 INR. I had appams, Malabari fish curry, some Kerela style chicken and mutton in coconut milk. The food experience was heavenly. The restaurant also serves beer and other alcoholic beverages. The ambience is very mellow.
Anees Madathil
Coconut Grove at JP Nagar doesn't have the same charm of their MG Road branch. The food is pretty good, especially fish varieties. The ambience is average and is congested. Fish Fry, Nadan Prawns Curry, Appam, were very good. The best appams in town. The price is a bit on thd higher side.

Good place with nice ambience, food is good, overall a nice experience with my team. 🖖

Coconut Grove is a South Indian restaurant having good options for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. A small and cozy place with limited seating but competent ambiance. The menu is vast and the food is delicious. However, the lack of staff facilitates for slow service. A minimum 15-minute wait can be expected. Parking Space is not available and you would have to find space nearby. Some items worth a try: Meals, Malabar Parota with Egg Curry.

The location is excellent, Menu is extensive, Ambience is cozy Service is great Prices are outrageous You get basically all kerala food here, they've got outdoor seating facing the ring road, its very clean. Perfect for a day out with the family, Beer and wines also served here, But to dine alone on a budget, its not the place, its a bit pricey for average people.

It is a good place for Kerala food. The food is delicious! I don't know if people who don't like Kerala food will like this place as it exclusively serves only that. Alcohol is served there. Appams are freshly made. The ambience is also fine. The staff is cooperative. The only drawback is that it is a very expensive place! Too expensive!

Was soooo disappointing with this Onam Sadhya on 31-Aug-2020. Despite booking, I had to wait for 30+ mins. First they gave away all parcels and then it became a buffet for many of us waiting. I can't imagine how we can let everyone handle the food themselves as it was a buffet. There was no temperature check as people entered. then I took parcel for my son who was at home - and hardly very few items were in the parcel still they charged 85% of the full charges. Overall very bad experience. Not sure if I will think of going back again.

Amazing food - pls do not listen to bad reviews - this place is fabulous it if you like Kerala food - relished everything what we ate - peaceful and cool place

Ordered food from them online..egg appams were burnt and vegetable stew had worm in it..

The menu price is actually 2.5 times the price shown here. Food was pathetic and the staff told us after ordering that they are closing in half and hour and took 10 mins to serve. Beyond all this, I lost my cool over 100 rupees for a dry parotha.
Siddharth Asrani
Was very disappointed with the Sadhya meal on Onam. I had made a call before visiting the place and I was told it was 800 per head for the special festival menu and I was also told the restaurant is operational till 4:30. We entered at 2:15 and found out that they were selling the coupons for 850 rupees instead of the 800 but we still went with it seeing the crowd. The food was so bad. None of the food was replenished in the chaffing dishes (not like that was a bad thing because the food was just terrible). There was absolutely no one to help us or even look after us during the lunch. I think this might just be the worst way I've spent my money (well not exactly- it was more of a scam really)<br/> You run if you see this place people. Don't say you weren't warned.
Thomas
Food was ok but extremely overpriced... Let them change the price then I'll change my rating.. I took my friends also and went there so I feel very bad that I made them pay so much for so little food.. One Kerala porotta costs 80rs .. I know how much it'll cost for one porotta... One normal chicken curry was 400rs I think and it had three tiny pieces in it.. I don't know what they are running there and the worst part is that we paid this much and the washroom was so smelly and both the washroom and bathroom are the Same..There are so many other Kerala restaurants which offer much much cheaper rate and better food so I think it's good to avoid this restaurant but If you're ready to spend a lot go there

It was a rainy day and the weather was pleasant we went for dinner. Kerala cuine and it was authentic. We ordered karimeen, appam, malabaru parotta. Food was hot and tasty fulfilling loved it. Service was too good and friendly. Price is Lil high.
Shyam Sundar
I went to this restaurant on church street yesterday after several years. Many years ago I used to love the tasty chicken biryani as well as the appams with stew. Sadly, that taste is no more. While the menu remains, the taste is nonexistent. I ordered chicken biryani and was eagerly looking forward to a relish. What was served was fried chicken in plain rice sprinkled with turmeric powder. Deeply saddened to watch the sad demise of my favourite restaurant. Will never go there again.
Anupama
The restaurant decor is very authentic and it is bright and airy. We enjoyed the ambiance however, the food left a little to be desired. The malabar parotha and the kadala curry were amazing but the appams were thick and the veg stew had no coconut milk, it was thickened using cornflour and felt like a soup rather than a stew.
Murali
Worst service. The crew there have no clue on the items nor how to serve. Owner was so arrogant and unfriendly to customers. Food was terrible, and no where close to Kerala style.
Mugunthan Sridharan
Clueless team, worst service, doesn’t know to manage orders; you order something and you get something else. If you want to waste time, visit this place.
Bijo M Sajan
It is not worth for money. I had been to many kerala restaurants in Bangalore and this was one of the worst one. Food is average and very expensive. They are charging Rs 480 for a fish curry and 450 Rs for a normal chicken Biryani which is not worth. I am a typical keralite and I  am aware about kerala foods. Food in this restaurant  is not Kerala style.
Rahul Tilak
Good place, it's a kerala style reasturant, the ambience is pretty good and hip. The starters were good, ordered appam and kadala curry, appams were soft, the curry was awesome. You also get beer here, that's a plus point.Customer service is good. However it's way too expensive, who charges 250 rs for a veg curry. The food however is great .

South Bangalore with the best southern backwater cuisine here at jp Nagar so if your, not a terraterian then it’s must visit the place to relish some delicious seafood. It was surprising as it was hassle free Friday evening. The restaurant is huge, wonderful Kerala style interior with a pleasant fragrance of backwater, and definitely, it is a place to dine, just to check out the amazing atmosphere created for our peace of mind. I loved their outdoor comfy seatings and decorations wit planted trees in the Kerala boat and I must say outdoor space perfect for photo maniacs. and #instagrammable memories. The menu is endless with so many dishes, in fact, we brainstormed to realise that, they have the good reputation for serving squid, prawns, fish and uthappam. We went ahead with their best dishes. The experience of the taste can only be smelt, felt and eaten (can’t be explained) but it was surely a lavish feast which made me sleep for hours post the meal. Must try the scrumptious fresh squid and fish fry. I had a literal feeling of lostness in the sea on a boat with mouth watery seafood which makes my journey endless. Service is polite and very attentive in taking care of our orders. Price is reasonable especially for the quality of food which is served. Don’t miss it out, it’s impeccable.<br/><br/>#Ambiance-4/5<br/>#food -4.5/5<br/>#service -4.5/5<br/>#parking - yes<br/>#occupancy -70 to 100 folks.

For those old timers, coconut grove evokes some nice memories of their restaurant in Church Street. I have been wanting to visit their JP Nagar Branch. I was surprised with the low ratings but went ahead and kept faith. I wasn't let down. The appams, the vegetable stew, ulli theyal and Malabar parotta are a must have for vegetarians. The desserts are awesome. We had ada prathaman and pineapple halwa. A must visit for those who love Malabar food. The only bummer is the poor maintenance of the toilet.
Anees Madathil
Coconut Grove at JP Nagar doesn't have the same charm of their MG Road branch. The food is pretty good, especially fish varieties. The best appams in town too; try it with Nadan Prawns Curry, absolutely delicious. The ambience is average and a little congested. I like that little outdoor seating area. Fish Fry, chicken fry, Chicken Biriyani, Beef Ularthiyath are very good. The price is a bit on the higher side.

Visited this place for dinner . The ambience is good and the staff are very friendly . The food is very tasty but over priced. The would visit again to try other dishes as well. Appam and veg kurma are must try.

Worst service and very bad servants ..they charge 50 rs for one litre bottle ..they looted our money and I prefer it is not worth to visit this place again.

Came here for Onam lunch. The lunch was 800 per head! What a rip-off! I mean, it's Bangalore, yes, but there is a limit to over pricing food.
Gyana Lakshmi
Though we came to this place with great expectations, they failed to match up to us. The ambience was utterly disappointing including the service. The food was good but the waiters seem hardly interested in what they were serving or what was the speciality of the restuarant.
Nixon Mendez
I've been to Coconut Groove for lunch. They provide a good service and the ambience is also good. So coming to the food, we had chicken biryani and pepper chicken, the taste was so good that you'll love it. Talking about the price, it's a bit pricy but the food is really good 👌

family night on a Thursday. location was a big bonus however too overpriced.. the prawn starter was wow...the setup is nice if you are sitting outside... I would definitely visit again for the food..
Gaurav Parik
Well located place. Very bad staff. There was no water in the tap and I was asked to clean my hands using a bucket and mug. When asked how can they not have running water, the staff member said “You can leave if you don’t want to have food here. Its your wish” and later no body bothered to come and take the order for a long time so me and my friends just left the place.

1) food good<br/>2) ambience nice<br/>3) location of restaurant very nice<br/>4) staffs good. But they need to improveèèee. not littel they need to improve more more in there service<br/>5) main problem in this places is parking.. and over all coconut grove ok<br/>I ORDER FOR FRUIT PUNCH THEY GAVE ME MAAZA. THAT I NOT LIKE IT

The food was not good at all and quantity was very less. Totally not worth money. I guess I should have trusted the Zomato rating before going.

Very bad and stale food. Chicken was stinky and stale.Very highly priced and not worth. Highly disappointed with the ambience, food. Half of the dishes on menu were not available. Will not recommend nor will visit again.

Oh Fish! Here is a very simple, coastal style pomfret fish. Pomfret coated with a fiery red masala and deep fried to perfection 😎 At: Coconut Grove, JP Nagar #Bangalore.

Good experience overall, yummy food no doubt! He Coconut rice with any of the curries is a must try! Friendly staff here. Clean place. Should try the Moor Kozhambu (Curd based curry) if you like the flavor.

Did not like the food ! Highly disappointed and on top of that they asked us whether we would like to tip their staffs .. I was like really. .!!<br/>Anyways ambience and the name of the restaurant attracts you but food was not up to the mark (so called Kerala style)<br/>service was bit slow!
Suraj Vijayan
Worst place to dine. They dont even have enough plates to serve customers. 1 Hr wait for food. Unclean plates. Excuses.... customer wants food fast ! Is 1 hr wait for foos fast ??????

A quaint place. Good ambience. A decent menu. Andhra cuisine. Nice to have it in the neighborhood. Drinks choice limited to a few beers and mocktails. Cordial service. Good Presentation decent. Overall a good experience.
Sanjukta Ramapriyan
Pathetic service. Staff are very arrogant and especially the man who takes orders needs sos training on how to work in a restaurant. He has severe attitude problem. Coconut grove management better buck up. Your Church Street joint is way better. The way your jp nagar staff behave I won’t be surprised if you wind up soon..

I had been here today 21st Jan 2018 afternoon. I had very good experience in MG road branch. Keeping that in mind I have visited this place. I was very happy too see them in JP Nagar as I reside there. They have disappointed to the core. One point in time I almost made up my mind to walk out from the place. I reached there @ 1.25 PM. One gentlemen came and took the order for 3 starters, one Beera, one buttermilk and one appam for my daughter. 1.45 PM they served 2 starters and Beera. Rest of the food did not come till 2.15 PM, I wanted to order main course and ask for the remaining starter and appam for my daughter. No response at all. Finally I went to the cashier desk and asked them what is happening. Gentlemen took the order for Pandy Curry, 3 appam, one chicken biryani and one desert, 20 mins later he comes and serves chicken curry and kerala parota. Finally my order was served at 3.00 PM. 3.30 PM when I went to pay the bill he gives a different table bill to me. Quality of the food is also very average, price is also high compare to other restaurants. Staff and service is horrible. I sincerely request not to visit this place and get disappointed. We go to any restaurant to enjoy food, time. This is place is disgusting.
Suriya Gayathri
A quaint little Kerela food place that has the typical low beam and wood works that once can see in old Kerela houses. This place specializes in Kerela good and does a good job of the same. They also serve variety of beers and serve well. Hope to visit again <br/>
Teja Dasari
Probably one of the best seafood restaurant in Bangalore. The ambience is great with a rustic Kerala style to it, similar to the one on church street. Great place to dine in with friends and family. And yea their appams and prawn fry are a must try. Every bit of your money spent here is worth it.
Coconut Grove
This is a great place to hang out with family, friends, or if you happen to be on a date. Ambience is awesome and the folks who work here are inviting and friendly. Food tastes amazing, and the alcohol is surprisingly affordable. Can’t find any legitimate reason to whine. Recommend it for sure.

I’ve been a regular customer to the coconut grove in church street , and expected the same in this branch as well , and no surprise this branch delivered to my expectations as usual. <br/>The service and ambiance is very welcoming , I would definitely suggest this place to all my friends .
Sharad Ramani
Nice place , hygienic food and polite behaviour of staffs ... Cool place at JP Nagar for hangout ... One must try the place just near ICICI wealth management branch

It is said there is no sincerer love than the love for food, and that is truly expressed by the founders though Coconut Groove, Sharing with us Bangaloreans the taste of Kerala, a name synonymous with Kerala food opens yet another outlet in South Bangalore. And as expected, they're trying to exceed your expectations by giving you more than you could ask for not only through their food, but with their warm hospitality. <br/><br/>Keeping with their signature decor, the restaurant takes you to the back waters of Kerala which only amplifies your experience. <br/><br/>Considering I'm a regular at their MG Road branch, I stick to my favourites, namely, pepper prawns, fried chicken, egg Masala, chicken Masala & Kerala parotha. Never have they let me down, neither with their food nor with their service. <br/><br/>I highly recommend Coconut Groove to all!<br/><br/>Kudos to the management & team for being great hosts every time I visit.

Good food, but most doesn't taste authentic Kerala. But decent for what we have around. Good staff and lovely decorated place. Highly Recomended

My first visit to the jp nagar outlet. I have been to their church st and sarjapur rd joints. Pretty much the same stuff everywhere. Nothing great nothing bad. The menu is limited but what they have is pretty good. Cant say this is anywhere near the best keralite cuisine in town but its worth a visit. A little pricey in comparison to quality.

Having lived in Bangalore for the past 24 years, I can not recommend a better resturaunt for coastal food that this place. Coconut grove has always been my go to place every time I wanted to taste appams which melt in your mouth. The chicken fry is a must try. This place has a traditional feel to it. <br/><br/>Good going and wish this resturaunt all the best 👍🏻

Lived in Bangalore for 25 years and still haven't come across a restaurant that serves better Kerala food.. I was so excited when I heard they opened a branch in JP nagar as I stay close to BTM layout. The experience was as good as their main outlet located on Churchstreet! The food, the staff and the ambience stayed true to Kerala authenticity! Loved my experience and will keep going there as long as it's running! Cheers!

Nice ambience - clean and fresh<br/><br/>The chief attendant, one old chap is jolly good fellow. <br/><br/>Food is moderately good. Pricey though. I enjoyed the lime soda.

Located at prime location and right above the well decorated bristo.. Bumped into this place with no plan, so had no expectation.Yet the name coconut groove bought a much expectation in me because of their branch out in MG road. Its a too highly authentic kerala style restaurant ( unlike one in MG road hide out).<br/><br/>We ordered for a 3 pint beer, mushroom chicken fry, pepper chicken, french fries and apaam.<br/>Beer had to be good as it was KF, appam was amazing as said its a Kerala style restaurant they better be :) , but then non of the other 3 were tasty.. I dont even know what tat mushroom chicken was.. I did not even feel it was chicken... it neither has taste of mushroom nor the onion as tat was the only dressing. And in pepper chicken all i could see was pepper powder toasted with chicken.. it was dead horrible.<br/><br/>And with all this bill came up to 1700/- neither my stomach was full nor was I happy. The  same price I had spent in around restaurant probably I would have come out happily. And after all the bill they say us that " we have not added the service charge, you can tip us directly" I wonder why do they even have to say this! If you have served us better we know its our duty to tip you. Try to improve the food taste and then come up to us to explain your bill!!

Visited Coconut Grove for dinner on a Friday. Started off with a couple of beers (which are surprisingly cheaper than some of the restaurants / pubs in the surrounding area), and some fresh lime soda. The Mushroom Fry, cooked in a coconut-pepper based masala, was nice and spicy. We ordered egg appams, with Veg Stew for Mains. The appams were excellent, but the consistency and flavour of the stew could have been better (it was still tasty, though). The egg appams would go superb with a chicken/fish gravy. The ambience is simple. They have two options for seating - indoors and outdoors. Serving staff are all dressed in what I believe is the traditional wear of Kerala (Mundu).<br/>All in all, a great experience. :)

There's no Kerala Restaurant in the neighbourhood, so when my friends asked, without a hesitation i walked in.<br/><br/>The place is neatly done up,  gives you the feel,  liked it ! Minimal.<br/>And that's where it all ends !!<br/><br/>We were a group of 5. <br/>We asked the staff for suggestions, and he recommended  the Kozhi Melagu , Prawns Varaval , Malabar Moru.<br/><br/>Qty was a little less , [i hope they make a note ].<br/><br/>We told him he Kozhi Melagu tasted a little odd, before even letting us complete , he gave us the big speech " All items are cooked on daily basis , and there's no leftovers, if so, they will  be given off  to the staff ".<br/><br/>Prawns was okay. <br/>Then we had the Erachi Ulatiyathu which too ; my friends  told was avg.<br/>We tried the Egg Pakodas, Onion Pakkodas, Babycorn Fries ..<br/><br/>We then had the Kozhi Biriyani, which was totally unworthy of the price that you pay for. <br/>Disappointed at the end of a what would have been lovely day !<br/><br/>And you get a hefty bill too..<br/>Service needs improvement and so does the food.<br/><br/>PS : I seen people reviewing this place for awesome kerala food after having Appam / Poratta.<br/> <br/>When you pay a premium price , you expect it to be at-least tasty. That's not too much to ask for.<br/> <br/>Please live up to the reputation of a Kerala food,  and we would love to come back !!
Rhia Piljen
Awesome coastal kerala restaurant with awesome food! Great place to come kick back and enjoy the hot & spicy kerala food with chilled beers! They have a scenic outdoor area that's perfect for the bangalore weather! The interiors are cosy and well lit too! Very warm and courteous staff. We were lucky to run into the owner too who was very welcoming! Now on to the food, went crazy over the unbelievably tasty squid koonthal fry and the meen pappas/fish gravy that we ordered with fluffy appams!! Total value for money paid. This is a must visit for everyone in JP nagar, and i know for sure i'll keep coming back for more!!
GKS
Easily one of the best restaurants in South Bangalore in terms of ambiance and overall VFM! Don't miss out on the aromatic seafood varieties on offer complimented with their assortment of beers and also the richly divergent coastal south indian delicacies! Suggest ordering the prawn varuval, pork pandi curry and the meen polichattu/fish fry all to go with piping hot appams or kerala porottas!  Love coming back everytime, courteous staff and just a very hospitable atmosphere to indulge in! I would recommend it to everyone.

Great Malabari food, Great ambience and professional staff. Have been a visiter of this hotel for a long time at MG road and they did not disappoint me again at their new hotel at JP Nagar. Kudos, keep up the good work.

Food - bad<br/>Service - Pathetic<br/>Price - over priced<br/>Ambience - Ok<br/><br/>Overall a very very bad experience! They had as many waiters as the customers when we had been there and yet they weren't quick enough. The fish we had was stale.

Quality of food is below average. Hygiene is low. Please do not try even once. It's very sad to see the service people has no clue what to be done.

This restaurant in JP Nagar serves Kerala cuisine. Coconut grove has been around for a while. This outlet is quite new. <br/><br/>The ambience is good for dining with family or friends. The service is decent. <br/><br/>Let’s get to the food. We ordered Chicken melugu and Kane fry which was ok. The Kerala parota was good. But the chicken stew was definitely not the traditional Kerala chicken stew. It was made out of some synthetic powder instead of coconut milk which spoils the curry altogether - which was quite disappointing. <br/><br/>In short, except for the Kerala parota - the food needs work to get into Kerala cuisine list. <br/><br/>So I rate this restaurant a 2.5 for the service, ambience and Kerala parota. <br/><br/>Have a yummy day!!!
Rekha Reddy
Worst experience, they cannot handle crowd. We were 15 of us. Food was bad. Whatever we order they like that's not there this not there. Few dishes they were like will take 45 mins. <br/>Overall worst experience, would never go there again.<br/>Every dish taste the same, same masala for both veg n non veg dishes. <br/>Not worth the money.<br/>

was planning from a long time to visit the place on church street. now that it is in jp nagar took the time to go since its closer now for me. had pork fry which was good. but the chicken curry and biryani was just average. <br/>good for those who like exploring different places n food. else not worth time n money.

I stay very near to this JP Nagar outlet. My First visit - very bad experience, Ordered fish pollichathu but i cancelled it since it took ages to come to our table!<br/><br/>Second visit -We ordered beef pollichathu along with veg meal. Served bit fast than my first occasion. But both me and my wife got stomach ache! I suspect something in Beef caused the stomach trouble. <br/>There were many people really angry with the slow service when we visited. The staffs were struggling with the orders. I think the management really need to work on improving the quick service. Its really tempting to go there but i will think twice.. They really need to improve the service to keep the people coming again..If u r going plan ahead as this is a small place and may take time to get a table..mostly crowded during weekend..
Praful.dambal
Nice place to sit outside.  Tables are placed too close to each other and can be quite noisy at times. Service needs a big improvement.  Service is very slow and too many unhappy people all around us, waiting for their food.  They starve you and then feed you.<br/><br/>I ordered appams, malabar parotha along with veg koorma and malabar babycorn curry.  Food quality and taste factor is quite good.  Ordered a drink which is tender coconut water with hint of honey and mint, it wasn't as exotic or flavourful as it sounded on the menu. <br/><br/>Overall go there if you have time to kill and have already something in your tummy and willing to wait a long time for food to be served in haphazard manner.<br/><br/>Not great value for money either.  Ended up spending 1700 for this simple lunch .<br/><br/>Overall try if you are dying to eat good south indian, Kerala food and be ready for lighter wallet..

I had a very bad experience here at Coconut Groove JP Nagar. Firstly not at all a good place for Veggies.  Secondly I opted for a seat in the Terrace since it was a monsoon weather and was our 26th  Wedding Anniversary. Nobody told me the terrace place is  No Smoking Zone. There was no bard too.  On arrogant young girl and boy cane and sat down next to out table. The male member was smoking next to us. we had started our lunch. It was an irritating experience and i had to fan away the passive smoke to my face as I am allergic to cigar smoke. The young girl arrogantly told us that this is a No smoking zone whereas there was no bard or staff mentioning about it. <br/><br/>Half of the menu list was not available.  Reason no supply from Yesterday !!!!<br/><br/>Rest room had no water in the tap !!!!<br/><br/>NEVER EVER WILL I VISIT THIS PLACE AGAIN.  We had a nice experience at Coconut Groove at Brigade Road  few years back, But here it was very bad especially the staff not trying to help me in shifting the place atleast. The Menu is as as per their Kitchen availability. What Fun in having a menu ... We had Virgin mary and Fresh Lime as mocktails.... Very poor standards. Normal Juice shops serve better <br/><br/>Guys ....Think twice before u visit

Have loved this brand in the past. Was very excited to know that they opened a branch in J P Nagar. Saw some really bad reviews online but thought of trying nevertheless. The ambiance is nice. Had to wait nearly 15 minutes before someone came to take the order. I ordered chicken stew as its a speciality dish. It took them nearly 30 minutes to service the dish and 2 appams. The dish lacked any sort of authenticity. The chicken was boiled a bit raw. Once we finished our appams, I ordered another appam and a parotta. It took us nudging them after 30 minutes that they served the appam and parotta. They didn't even serve water for us to drink. <br/><br/>When they got us the bill, they gave us the regular refreshments. There were ants in the refreshments.<br/><br/>I can't recommend this place to anyone.
Satvik
Biggest positive: taste <br/>Negative: no lift <br/>Recommended dish: fried chicken <br/><br/>Located on JP nagar 100 ft road. Car parking can be managed around the place. Located on the first floor, no lift available. Has a small balcony area which is a smoking area. The ambience is simple and elegant. The service was quick and staff were friendly. <br/>The food is mainly coastal cuisine. The fried chicken was tasty, was something different. The squid fry was also tasty. The other chicken starts were decent. The chicken clear soup had a good flavour. The appam and chicken curry was well made. The quantity is standard. The pricing of the dishes is of a fine fine restaurant, so is high.<br/><br/>On the whole, it's one of the few non veg dine out and out restaurants in the area that delivers in terms of ambience, quality and taste.

Was super excited when saw the sign board <br/>"COCONUT GROVE" <br/>Brings back memories <br/>I would always visit when in that part of the town <br/>Best costal food u can get in Bangalore <br/>So finally now in jp nagar <br/>Alway Order<br/>Appam and any curry <br/>Chicken peppers <br/>The veg thali <br/>The best in their menu <br/>100% value for money <br/>Recommended on a high note
Prasul Pradeep
The rating is low due to the price to quantity to taste comparison. We had the traditional fried chicken and just had 5 tiny pieces and some were rubbery and we complained but the waiter didn't offer to fix or replace. Had chicken biyirani tast was decent but not worth the price. Quantity was decent. Rayata was sour due to poor quality of tomato else would have been a hit. The fish curry was decent but once again not worth the price. They should have set the price considering it's a new place and not like their Church Street branch. At this price if we don't looks the dish should be offered to fix or change. Also food was too spicy.

Not good.. Unable to understand the food items. Need improvements or restructuring the complete restaurant and drastic change in customer service.<br/>We were group of friends visited this place. Never going to visit again.

Absolutely beautiful experience at Coconut Grove Restaurant! The first thing that catches your eye is the scenic outdoor seating and the cozy interior bar area! It has a very homely traditional Kerala ambience to it with soothing carnatic music that's always playing in the background! <br/>Their a la carte is immensely rich in flavour and desirably aromatic in its spice! <br/>Do try the assortment of delicacies like the vegetable stew, the chicken chettinad/nadan curry, pork pandy curry and pair them with appams or porottas! Their prized jewel though is the seafood with the kari-meen, crab roast and the prawn varuval..the depth of the rich Malabar spices are so redundant I still can't get over them! They have an assortment of domestic and imported beer to wash down the lip-smacking flavours! I highly recommend the outdoor seating, it's unlike no other in the vicinity!
