Tried some odia snacks and sweets from this place. Special mention to the dahi bara alu dum. It was so flavourful and the bara was really soft.
The veg chop was also really good. I tried chenna gaja, gulab jamun, malpua, kheer kadam and Cheena jalebi. Being a person with sweet tooth, I loved all their sweets. I also tried their fish fry which was marinated really well
If you are looking out for some authentic odia sweets and snacks, I definitely recommend you this place. Do visit Kalingas whenever you are in and around BTM.

One of those nice typical old style small regional food joints on a regular street that is very popular with the local crowd. Typical Oriya food with very authentic snacking items - usual suspects like samosa, veg chop, alu chop etc. Their gugni is probably a unique item in Bangalore though ubiquitous in other parts of the country. Some of the sweet items are also worth trying - hi sugar alert on this one though.

We had a blast at this place. The restaurant is small but the food is authentically oriya!!!!!
The flavours are so original. I love how they have maintained the right taste of each and every sweet and the dishes. They also sell chicken and mutton dishes.
The fish fry is also awesome. People who love Bengali cuisine can also go there as the taste is too near to Bengali.
In case of snacks like samosas, vegetable chop , bonda it will be anyone's favourite.

Good enough for a small eatery. Food is hygienic yet delicious and it takes us back to our roots. It creates that nostalgic experience.

I recently went to this place for snacks and sweets in BTM which is well known for orissa delicacies. It is a small eatery(Odia restaurant) with few chairs and tables. It serves food, snacks and sweets.
Taste of food was good. We tried
Dahi bara aloo dum
Samosa
Veg chop
Kheer kadam
Chena jalebi
Chena gaja
Gulab jamun
Bonda
Dahi bara aloo dum was good. Bara was soft and going well with aloo dum and balanced masalas. Samosa filling was perfect.
All the sweets were fresh and enjoyable.
Everything was upto the mark. They are maintaining quality and taste of each item since a long time.
If you are looking for some odia authentic food and sweets and snacks then try this place in Btm once. Recommended ๐

Being a bong and out of Bengal I totally get the feeling of Fish out of water. To all my odia friends out there I have this exciting Odia dine in and take away place at one of the hub of Bengaluru (BTM). The food here will definitely give you a diligent scoop of Orissa in Bangalore with a hint and touch of Bengal as well. This is a small joint at BTM that can be ordered from through ZOMATO and other platforms. The snack items, sweets and main courses are just amazing. The benefit is even the owner speaks Odiya. Veg chop, shingara, Chanar jilipi, jamun, mach bhaja, chicken curry and mutton curry, chena poda, ghugni are few must have here. Do head out here for an amazing odia meal.
Pradipta Senapati
Very nice place for odia food in btm or Bannerghatta road area. They have a very good non-veg dishes. Don't miss their Sweets spread, you name it and you get it.

Kalingas is a small eatery in BTM layout where you get delicacies from Orissa. They are divided into three small section. One section serves you lunch/ dinner. Second section serves you sweets. Third section serves you snacks. They have very less space for dining in.
They have ample of sweets and I did try quite a few. They were perfect and fresh like the way you will get in Orissa or Bengal. Food was tasty too.

This Quaint Little Place in BTM 2nd Stage is a escape for all the Odia People Nearby. Serving Authentic Odia Breakfast and Meals/Thalis in a pocket friendly Price. Looking for Odia Sweets, may it be Chenna poda, steam cake, Chenna Gaza, Kakera and what not. This is one of the few places in Banglore serving Good Odia Food and letting people enjoy the same. Sitting arrangements are very less. Basically a take away place. Hygienic and great Taste at the same time. They also sell Odia style mixture.. I usually visit this place to have Gulgula, Vegetable Chop/ Cutlet, Kakera, Even Dahibara Aloodum is good, may not be authentic but what would you expect in a outer state. Usually Crowded please have patience to wait for your turn to fetch the food
Food- 4/5
Service-4/5
Pocket Pinch- 4/5

My personal experience is sweets / desserts are just too good. Not a fan of other savory items. If you are near by try sweets.

I am not from Odisha but i love Dahi Bara Aloo Dum. I loved the taste. Would like to try once in restaurant once open for dining.

Food tastes authentic odia cuisine but I have found insects in their food multiple times. First time I ignored and the second time was a big bug which is just negligence. Won't be ordering again and wouldn't recommend especially during these times when hygiene is non-negotiable.

Had very high regards for Kalingas but gradually they have deteriorated their food quantity and quality. Ordered for 2 Raj Bhog which was costing INR 36/- per piece but received 2 hard rasgulas that is not worth the money I paid. Please do not order Raj Bhog and get fooled from Kalingas. Also their quantity is getting lesser day by day for all items and price is going sky. Plz do not order items which you do not have any idea or new for you. I feel cheated.
Jyoti Arora
The best Odia food I've had till date. The order was delivered well in time and no items were missing. The fish curry was cooked really well and had that subtle sweetness that I've always relished in Odia cuisine. Also, the ras malai was out of this world. Would highly recommend everyone to try it.

Lastly, would like to acknowledge the combined efforts of Kalingas staff and Zomato because of whom we're able to enjoy our favourite cuisines in tough times like these. Keep up the good work!

+s:
1. Order delivered on time
2. Value for money - The portion size is really good
3. Ras Malai ๐

-s:
Nothing at all

I went there with my family.. good service good food and nice .. staff is very Helpful.. we will back soon
Chandra Sekhar Misra
A very degraded place to eat out with the staff behaviour being unfriendly and focused more on giving dimwit replies rather than food quality or taste
Tushar Shukla
Delivery review. Authentic Odia food. Great flavors, and everything was packed properly in just the right amount. One of the best samosas and dahi bada aloo dum I ve had in Bangalore. Sweets were a little on the sugary syrupy side but rest was all great.
Amitav Mishra
Got samosas from Kalinga and there was a large stone in it
Deepak Sadangi
This review is only for breakfast .I like bara only apart of that all are horrified. Chena poda is simply worst.Prefer 56 Bhoga or Vishal .
Bhavya Dhall
whatever you charge, why is the food's quantity so less? If this place is run by an Odia person.. please understand this matter.. you have to change the opinion of ODIYA community. Everywhere kanjoosi??
Ashima Patro
I ordered after seeing the review of egg tadka and phulka roti, it doesn't feel like you're eating from a restaurant, it taste homely cooked food. Keep it up your service. And it doesn't have much spice so I loved it
Susandhya Nayak
Taste is not so bad but quantity is very less according to price plz look on it, I got a very bad experience, pathetic quantity ๐ฅถ

Snacks & Sweets are the Best!!! One of the finest Odia + Northindian dishes in Bangalore. Must try #Samosa, #Chennapoda.
Anamika Mandal
They added suji to chena poda and and what a dahi vada allu dam if you ever had dahi vada in orrisa you feel like vomit๐ซ. I know you are giving in cheaper price so give less quantity but good food.
Subhakanta17
This restuarant is never giving discounts and all where as other restaurants are always providing some coupon codes. One thing abt Kalinga is good is sweet item and snacks or else it is not up to the mark..
Vinutha M Gowda
The quantity is very less for the price we pay.. the staff are rude and the taste, there is salt missing in every other dish..
Saswat Das
Being an Odia I usually order from this place whenever I visit or stay nearby.

Guguni taste will be awesome and they will keep that odia flavor in it which is highly appreciated.

Even Dahi baigan etc will be good here.
Gulgula, Bara etc are also decent

However Paneer, Mushroom items are not that good and you will feel a lil disappointed.

Even Aludum also is quite okayish

Chhenapoda is pathetic, not fresh at all.

Overall a decent place
Ranjit
Loved the portion size. They actually gave good mutton pieces. Usually in thali you find one or two pieces that too those chewy meat.
David Mandal
Ordered breakfast which was ok ok, sweet in this place is better..
Chitta Ranjan Mohapatra
Over confidence is not good always, be care customer and give them value

Food is yummy, but you must improve in quantity. Your ghugni and chutney is not sufficient for 2 idli. Please please improve quantity everyone has this bad feed back about kalinga. If you go to cuttack you will get unlimited ghugni and chutney. Don't give unlimited but at least give so much that people can eat 2 idli.
Satwik Das
Sometimes they cheat customers who take parcel
Abhisekh Dash
Veg thali is not tasty, salt is less in every item and vegetables are not good quality wise it seems old vegetables.
Subhransu Samant
The food is bad so are the staffs.

Kalingas---the odiya sweetmeat shop that serves meat along with sweet!

Tried the odiya sweet shop in BTM today after a few recommendations from a fellow foodie. Place was small, crowded, had poor service & pathetic hygiene. Flies everywhere, some sweets were on the counter uncovered attracting more flies & tables were dirty with used plates left uncleared.

Coming to the sweets. We ordered rajbhog and another phallic shaped sweet. Both gave us a sugar rush. Next we ordered the other two items and guess what we found---a cockroach! Took it to the guy at the cash counter and he pleads ignorance saying that this is the first time such a thing has happened, that it must have been in the sugar as if that counts for an excuse. Was totally disgusted by the experience!

This place gave me a feeling of home, while I am 1500kms away from it. I came across this place while searching for the famous Odia delicacy 'Dahibara Aloodam,' had two plates at once and wasn't disappointed. The other items were really nostalgia inducing. The famous Odia Rasagola and Chennapoda were the icing on the came. Would love to visit again.
Satya Ranjan Dash
Taste is good. But price is too high as per the quantity. Needs to decrease the price or else increase the quantity. Don't know whether this is the price set by the restaurant or Zomato people are displaying higher prices than the actual price.
Bipin Kumar
I have been ordering from this restaurant since when it was located at it's old location. The food is good and reminds me of my home town back in Orissa. The meals are very good here, recently I had mutton meal. What I feel is the items are a bit over priced.

Please consider the prices and you will get more regular patrons.
Uttam Mohanty
Service is really bad.feels like they are doing a favour to you.waited there for more than 15 minutes ,but they were busy packing online ordered food.other staff were busy gossiping.Ghugni price should be less or the quantity should be high for the price they charge. whenever I have ordered dahi Bara ,the quanity of alu dum is very less and ghuguni will be missing.thats not fair.Quality of the fish is questionable .overall disappointed.
Swara
If you are searching for proper odia food in bengaluru . This is the place then. They serve tge real odia food with the same odia taste and that too at a really nominal price..
Nirmitha Shetty
Orderd almost all d dishes here. All are good and mostly were desserts kind. Variety of odiya dishes. Budget friendly.
Soumya Mohanty
Very authentic food. I ordered pakoda and ghuguni. The taste of ghugni was totally authentic Odia taste. The pakodas were also yum. Loved it completely. Would love to visit the restaurant sometime ๐
Nishit Sadual
Well just better than a roadside stall. The places serves snacks from Odia cuisine, particularly shomashas, vada, aloo chop etc. The food taste is decent but I feel its highly overpriced. The dahibara aludam was a complete waste.
Biswajit Sahoo
Wow what a service they are providing. The taste of food is awesome. You can order veg thali and chicken thali also. It's superb with odia cuinise. Thanks to the restaurant who feel odia here in Bangalore.
Swati Karan
Foods
was ๐๐ it just seems like I'm in my hometown...but sometimes that ZOMATO valet late service just ruin my foodie mood ... Apart that taste is like mamma handmade foods...
Pradip Kumar
Ghooghny ordered was stale .After consuming the food had vomiting and gastritis possibly the oil was not fresh.Had ordered it for home delivery. This is not the way we expect the food quality should be
Anup Sabat
Very good quality of food. Odia items consist of various vegetables and non-veg items and these people prepare it perfectly. Plus the sweet items like Chenna Poda are worth trying. Worth eating and trying out. Breakfastmenu is also excellent. Worth trying out.
Sambit Panda
Great Odia food. Very authentic. People who dont like Kalingas, dont really know what real odia food tastes like. Being brought up in odisha to these delicacies everyday, i know for a fact that after multiple orders with Kalingas - if you want true odia food in bangalore, this is the place to order from. Keep up the good work Kalingas!!
Preetsom Dhal
They cheat while billing, always ask for proper rate and kindly get a bill . I had breakfast today and the amount he said should have been 10-20 rupees less. Upon asking about the rate the
manager first smiles then provides poor pathetic explanation.
Sambit Panda
If you order through online, they are delivering expiry item. Don't order online from this restaurant. they are also delivering different item.
Pratik Satapathy
Apparently I stopped ordering from this restaurant due to hygiene concerns. Yesterday I visited this restaurant after renovation. I feel I can trust this restaurant again. Good job kalingas on renovations. Taste of food was always at par now hygiene too.
Subham Matolia
They aren't into food industry, they talk as if they are doing favor on me giving extra gravy for extra puri.
Such a pathetic logic on top of that sweet which the staff gave me, I saw an black ant sticked on it When I asked about it he said, bhaiya yeh meetha hai isme chiti toh lagega hi na,
I thought of replying, bhaiya Mera haat hai, tappad toh padega hi na..
No sense of business.
Neetu P
Went to the place to experiment with food. Overall it was ok ok, not that great. I only liked the chicken kussa. Prices are okay. Not really a must visit sort of place.
R Kumar
Kalingas Restaurant is a one of the best food in this area, really i loved the food there, I ordered Prawn Masala through online,It was Taste was super....
Jitendriya Tripathy
Best odia food in best price. Thanks to team kalingas. Very very tasty food. I recommend aluchap for all odia foodly. Thanks a lot. Best service provided by zomato.
Shrrikant Sharma
Food is really good for odiya Food lovers , just not a place to go out dining, price is a bit on the higher side but if you like homely oriya food this can a very good option.
Subham Kumar
It's lovely place. Please try pakhalo. The non veg items are really good here. People are nice here. Don't forget to try the sweet here.....
Sheela Shamsundar
Kalingas is a small place that serves odia cuisine. Limited seating. The chicken kussa was good. Liked the sweets as well. Very pocket friendly and surely worth a visit.
Ritwick
amazing chicken curry
Sriya
Authentic Odia dishes. Tastes good. Quantity not so good. Bit overpriced, but thatโs justified. Ordered online, quantity was way lesser than what they serve at the restaurant, 3 stars only for that. Honesty is important when you are a regular costumer.
Pratik Satapathy
I ordered a home delivery of dahi baigan yesterday and found a dead cockroach inside. I am stopping order to this restaurant. This is absolute disregard to food hygiene.
Debasish Dash
Awesome food .It feels like home cooked meal everytime I order.the chicken kasa masala is amust try.๐๐.Good job guys .Odiya food outside Odisha is just like dream comes true.๐
Sourav Mukherji
I only order sweets and snacks from them. They are just awesome. Its not a place where you can sit and eat and parking is a hassle. Therefore the best option is to have it Zomatoed! I would definitely rate it higher than K C Das (in case anyone still goes there!) and Banchharam (rapidly deteriorating). Better taste, decent variety and lower prices.
Rishi Pemmaiah Coorg
worst food they served. I have ordered prawn curry. severed without removing shell and uncooked prawns .
Shivani Sapalika
The best place for sweets . Affordable price, good quality and the best part is the sweets are exact taste as it should be.
Me and my husband are RABRI and KALA JAMUN lover and we only prefer kalingas . Please keep it up with same price and quality.
Prathama Mohanty
A pocket friendly food joint in the locality to have odia cuisine.

But it is very small and congested. No proper sitting arrangements. Only 3/4 chairs are there and a wall mounted table. And it will be very crowded always by zomato boys to collect food orders.

They have sweets, snacks and other odia cuisines as well. Chicken kassa and dahi baigan was tasty. But dint like the fish fry. It was completely deep fried and not even fresh. Food quality could have been better.

But their sweets are finger licking and really worth having. Must try!
Ankita Jena
Taste of odia food in Banglore...Thanks to Kalingas...Tasty ghugni and Puri and aloochop๐ Delicious breakfast...

Had got it delivered to my home at BTM
Sayoni Dalai
Good veg chop but aloor chop was more of a garlic chop and not at all good in taste and sweets are also ok. Need to try more options there. But veg cutlet or chop is a must for a bong there. Itโs an Oriya outlet in btm but bong can saviour there taste buds well
Satish
Do package the food items well before delivering. Simply delivering cause you prepared a good dish (an appreciable Odia cuisine!) doesn't mean "I'm done with the customer". Even at-least be mindful of the salad that you provide, looks pathetic with just onion and lemon
Mainak Chakraborty
Ordered rice daal sabji fish curry and bharta.
Rice daal and fish curry was okay, not great. Bharta was not good. I will not order again from this joint.
Bored Belly
Thisย place is a few meters away from my home and is my regular Sunday hangout. It reminds me of my home and is my home away from home. Love the food and is quite famous with odia people and otherwise.
Nitesh Chaurasiya
Very nice place to try out typical north indian snacks and food. I have tried chats and sweets here. those are awesome. thali is also nice. specially the quality of roti.
Piyali
I have ordered sweets. It was awesome.
Aditya
I order Puri n sabji=4/5
Chena Pooda=3/5
Dahi Bada=4/5
Samossa=2/5
actually the chena poda taste is different that what actually we have as a odia sweet,Samossa is not all worth.
Lohi Reddy
I ordered amlet ๐it was to good and tasty paking was nice..... I will come regularly to there ๐and oil has observed limited....
Simply it was amazing place to eat this.. ๐
