The food was very good. Authentic taste at an affordable price. But it is better to take away the food. As they don't have a proper ambience for dining.

There is absolute no place to dine. This branch is just for parcels. But the food taste and quality is worth the price. A blessing for all the bengalis in bangalore. You will feel at home after taating the food.

Their veg cutlet was good. We ordered katla thali, chingri malai curry and chicken dak bunglow. Chicken dish was not that good but chingri malai curry was tasty. Also their thali portion was huge. 2 person can easily share in one.

Food quality and quantity is very good and also the taste.

Food quality is really good and I like it always. However, I was disappointed when I visited BTM layout branch today. Though it was mentioned in google as an option for “Dine-in” but there is no option at all. This branch is ONLY for delivery or take away.

I went for there special mahalaya buffet lunch on the day of mahalaya 2019, no doubt i loved it absolutely, items were basmati rice,noboratna daal, begun bahar or doi begun, topse fry, kochur loti with prawn, mocha ghonto, muro ghonto, vetki sorse, pona kalia, chatni, papad, payes. I never have seen these much Bengali item all together buffet in Bangalore honestly, for me it was superb. Another point is so many item but not one even, tasted bad, you will find the authenticity of Bengali food, price is very reasonable, only the place is not huge enough , you have to wait sometimes but again worth waiting.

Few mughlai dishes to vouch for: 1) mutton chaap- precisely marinated and cooked, this mughlai gravy makes a great combination with their tawa parathas. 2) mughlai chicken roll- an amazingly delicious and humungous roll. 3) Chicken/mutton biryani- we just can't have enough of their biryani. Absolutely perfect Kolkata style mughlai flavour (no excessive chilly powder and colour that spoils most biryanis of Southern India) this is a must must must have. Plus the professionalism of team HMK. We mostly do takeaways, as space in the new building is a constraint.

I have been a fan of Bengali cuisine. It used to be a dine out restaurant but now it is only takeaway. I love their fish preparation especially Katla Kalia

Food quality is awsome(feel like home made food), good staff behavior. One of the most famous item is "Alu posto". This restaurant is very cheap in a costly place like Bangalore.

Food was the best and service was great as well, the only issue is some of the shops only have online options.

I had the best experience of Bengali food in Hiyar Majhe. The fish taste is unmatchable, feels like I am sitting in Kolkata and having it. Biryani and chicken chap is exceptional, best in entire Bangalore. The quantity, quality and price is really commendable. Having food from HMK doesn’t make me miss Kolkata. Apart from this I have tasted almost all items, all are exceptional. Keep it up HMK. You rock and deserve a 7 star rating .🙏

Being a Bengali, staying in this city, I am just tired of eating curry pata in everything and anything. Pg food is the cherry on the top that no one asks for. Anyway, ordered fish thali, and trust me I just made a small tour to heaven. After soooo many days I felt my home food was in my mouth. It's just 5 minutes that I finished my lunch and as soon as I finished, I am sitting here and writing this from the depth of my heart. Thankyou for bringing my home to my plate today. You just don't know how happy my heart is today. Just thankyou and bless those hands which prepared these food.

For us, the South Indians, fish and fish curry will be really different from this. The Vetki fish is something different and the Vetki Sorche or the Vetki fish curry is something different. The mustard flavour in the curry was exhilarating. The spice was mixture was great and perfect, no hesitation in ordering another fish. One can have this with rice, and hence this is light on your stomach. I can conclude that Vetki Sorche is one of the best Bengali Delicacy I've ever tasted in Bengaluru The garlic chicken here is epic

Undoubtedly one of the best homely food servers in Bangalore. I would highly recommend to visit their outlet at BTM and taste their food. I can guarantee, you will have a value for your money. I discovered this place two days back. I must say the quality of food stands out from all other similar joints . Not only the taste but I'm talking about the quality of the meat they serve as well. Apart from the food the service is also very impressive . The quality of the food they provide is equally good as their behavior. I had my best Bengali meal in Bangalore at Hiyar Majhe Kolkata. I have ordered Bengali food from here on multiple occasions. The quality, taste and service have been very good. My family members and friends are really impressed with the overall experience. The preparation is very balanced and suits the preference of most Bengalis/East Indians. I would highly recommend for all occasions involving Authentic Bengali cuisine.

On the occasion of my son's annaprasana we gave whole responsibilities to Hiyar Majhe Kolkata. Apart from food they did decoration and catering service also...all guest loved the food ...we had a amazing experience with Hiyar majhe Kolkata.both Biswa dada n Sangeeta boudi were very cooperative.Again want to say huge thanks and highly recommend them.

One of the worst experiences. Pathetic food Doesn't even deserve one star(unfortunately I have to give 1 ) We ordered a thali and they didn't even give all the items which were mentioned in the menu but they charged full price. The food served was cold and tasteless, when asked they said "You should have told we would have heated it".

All I can say Hiyar Majhe serves very very tasty food. Rather I would say sumptuous food. Very happy to find a pure authentic Bengali caterer here in Bangalore. Wishing them a very happy n successful life.. All the best

I went with a good bengali friend of mine [100001228158824:Arunabha] to taste the "taste of Kolkata" the very next day of Grand Opening in Span Retail, Bannerghatta. Food is lip smacking no doubt ! The Fish fry is one of the best I ever had, here in Bangalore. The price is also affordable. Served with "kasundi" ( Mustard sauce) - it would no doubt leave you and your stomach content ! I tried a few more things, like bhetki macher paturi, Fish chop etc. The one worth mentioning other than the Fish Fry mentioned above is the "Nolen Gurer Roshogolla" at the end. It's delicious !! The owners are friendly and welcomed us with warm and open hearts ! Not to mention their lil daughter "Hiya", a student of class 2 is an absolute darling and a sweet heart. It's a "Bangali shondhe" spent very well. With all the food n the talks, felt the essence and warmth of Kolkata in Bangalore. Just one suggestion : Probably Hiyar Majhe can keep a few chairs nearby incase people feel like having Biriyani, and yes, a jug of water in visible proximity !!!

I recently got my catering done from Hiyar Majhe Kolkata. As promised the food arrived on time and tasted quite nice esp the aloor dum, fish fry and gurer rasagulla. I would definitely recommend my friends to try out Hiyar Majhe Kolkata. �

Initially it used to be good. Recent experiences are very bad. No salt in fish, alu dum has stale feeling. Apart from the sweets nothing seems good.

Just don't order from here. Got stale fish fry which disintegrated into crumbles. Hygiene is very bad I am told. Also, most of the items are not available but they will accept your order.<br/>Stay away and stay safe.

Being a bengali sometimes I just crave for bengali food so one day I ordered lunch from this restro and trust me guys if it’s awesome and pocket friendly as well. I love the bengali flavour in all the food items. Must try place in bangalore if you are a bengali food lover.

Ordered HMK Special Chicken Biriyani and quite amazed to see 2 well cooked Chicken Leg Pieces along with 1 Egg and 1 Potato (aloo). Bengali biryani is incomplete without a piece of potato, glad to find it inside the box. Rice is long grain Basmati and the Biryani tastes like yum! Best Bengali Biryani in Bengaluru at this price point and it is absolutely value for money. Packaging is also good. I will definitely order from here and recommend others to taste it.<br/><br/>P.S: My non bengali friend wanted to taste Bengali Biryani, so I ordered from here. I was a bit tensed about how my friend will react, however, she liked the taste and preparation. So if any non bengali friend wants to try Bengali cuisine, this restaurant is highly recommended.

For egg devil which costs 52 bucks you will receive only 1 fried egg in a batter which has no taste. They did not even bother put a rubber band on the foil and was left wide open. Chicken mughlai was under cooked and tasted like eating raw dough.

The ilish bhapa was just out of the world.. A big nice piece 😁😁 and nice thick gravy (trust me both of this is uncommon in bangalore especially with ilish)

I wanted to introduce my friend to Bengali cuisine and therefore ordered from this place. While the biryani was delicious, and the veg thali was also good, the Chingri Malaicurry was the worst. So bad, that I have to give two stars. The gravy was white and sweet, too much so. Tasted like some sort of dessert. <br/>

I used to order from this restaurant for almost a year now. Initially their food was really good. And as a bengali I enjoyed it. And the 2 stars I am giving is because of that. These days they have completely lost all standards and credibility. Their food quality has decreased drastically.<br/>And recently I had ordered a fish munchurian and Fish finger. The food did feel off and had a rotten smell. but I still ate it (my mistake). After that I suffered from severe food poisoning. And i think it's safe to say I am never ordering from this restaurant again.<br/>Advice to the management : At least maintain a little bit of dignity in terms of food quality. If you are out of fresh stock, inform the customer and cancel the order instead of serving rotten fish. Very disappointed since I was once a regular customer

Biriyani taste is not upto the mark , since the rice quality is Good one can eat it thinking lemon rice in this COVID situation.

This was a good pocket friendly resturant . But from last few months the quality has dropped. In thalis they coustomise food according to avilibility at times this becomes a problem as the customer may not like a food or may be allergic to it.

I usually do not like the. Dry chilli chicken South Indian style but the bengali style I love it what they made. Chicken punjabi was something new I tried for first time and it was too yummy.

After so long got the chance to have tasty yummy Bengali cuisine. Love their food. Must try. Good food, reasonable price what else we need more.

Absolutely unprofessional. Ordered from Swiggy and got a call after a while stating that they did not receive the order for one of the item even though on swiggy it was paid for. They were reluctant to solve this problem and were extremely rude. I have tried their food before as a takeaway and its extremely substandard. Every time this restaurant will charge extra packing charge but they will merge 2 dishes in one box.. I have ordered 2 biriyani but they have given raita in one box as if they know that we gonna share and eat...<br/><br/>Boss stop assuming and give some quality also. Ordered one chicken biriyani and one full plate tandoori chicken through zomato... Tandoori chicken didn't seem to be full.. so far we have got two leg pieces, two winglets etc whenever ordered full tandoori chicken from anywhere... Means the pieces come in pair from a whole chicken... But here it was not... Either they don't know the meaning of full tandoori or they intentionally didn't give speculating that customer won't notice... Biriyani was ok even though egg was missing in it (don't claim it Kolkata biriyani without egg)<br/>So, a disappointing experience... This restaurant was good authentic Bengali restaurant even few months ago, now a days the quality of food getting wrose.<br/>Recently I went 2 times, 1st time they served cold food and 2 time the mutton was smelling.

Ordered Chicken Thali, nicely packed in individual containers, rice, aloo uchhe bhaja,niramish móong dal narkel diye,lau er torkari, bori diye shaak, chicken kosha and a slice of gondhoraj lebu followed by aam er chutney and papad. Aloo uchhe bhaja is the starter with nicely fried aloo uchhe, móong dal having a sweet taste remenicent of home-cooked food.<br/>Chicken kosha was rich, but not spicy,easy on the taste bud. An awesome meal overall.

Incredibly oily. I had to pour out oil from the dish and still there was so much! Also kadai chicken had a fish smell. It looked like oil was reused.

I had ordered mutton kasha, i got chicken item delivered and when i raised request with ZOMATO, the restaurant response was that we have again redelivered mutton kasha through their personal delivery boy, which was complete LIE, ZOMATO as well as hotel management both response were unprofessional.

Taste was good. But the biriyani was unhygienic, I found one black insect in the biriyani. This can cause serious health issues if it was a poisonous insect.They should be more careful about  the cleanliness of the kitchen and the food.

I want to give negative star but there is no option. Beware before you order. Read my review then think twice before ordering. Unfortunately, I have ordered chicken biryani and kalmi kebab. They have charged Rs.200/- each plus tax. Kalmi kebab contained two leg pieces which are meant to be thrown to dogs. Sorry dogs will also find it difficult to chew. Its rotten and hard boiled and waste piece which nobody can eat. May be crocodiles with stronger teeth can try. The chicken pieces hardly contains any meat. And the second wonder --My god chicken biryani its worst than I ever had in my life. Its normal biryani rice with a piece of meat. I have myself thrown everything instead of having it and spoiling my health. Please be ware before ordering. These people are cheating consumers.

Lack of even basic seating arrangements, no manners, cunning to extract most cost for low quality food. I have multiple times observed that this restaurant overcharges for every food item. I also agree with most negative reviewers mentioned here.

I ordered a fish thali. It was not that good not that bad though. It was an average thali, the fish curry was not that good. The chutney, dal, bhaja were good. The veg curry given was not that good also.

Located in a prime location of BTM 2nd stage, this place is known for serving Bengali cuisine.<br/><br/>One lazy afternoon with so much hunger went to this place and ordered Kolkata style Chicken Biriyani. Frankly, I didn't liked it. Next day when again I visited here, I had Khichuri Thali (on the special occasion of ganesh chturthi) it was awesome. Remembers me the home food.

I have ordered 1 Fish Box and 2 chicken box but they have send me only 1 box of each. And after I have called them up to deliver the remaining box, they have not showed up intrest. Instead asking me to order something so that they can send the previous one.<br/>This is totally pathetic coz why should I pay an extra 100 or 150 to get an order which was undeliverd by them.<br/><br/>Moreover I have made online payment. And they blocked my number as well as my friends number.

The worst bengali restaurant ever! The reason is because the place is super dirty, super unhygienic, dark and clumsy and to top it all, a big dead cockroach in the dal they gave. I had to walk off from the restaurant and still they don’t care. Why will they, they are used to the dirty place and they know cockroaches in food is inevitable. I don’t recommend the place to anyone.

The food was okay. Taste & spice was just right. The biryani had just one piece (a leg). Tomato chutney was good, but chunks of ‘needed to bite them’ tomatoes, took away some of the charm. <br/>‘Chingri Malai Curry’ tasted good. The peas kachori wasn't filled with peas as expected. Radhabhallavi was also okayish. Slow service. Chola-r dal and aloor dom had authentic taste. Gulab jamun was soft.

Definitely a big NO for this restaurant. Its a over hyped place. Today morning went for breakfast though i was late came around 12 and ordered peas kachori. Pictures attached of my order and speaks everything. When i told them about the same and post the pictures in there page in Facebook, one of there owner started arguing. I ordered chicken biriyani. I expected a lot from them. But fully disappointed with their food. Ordered biriyani before also that is very good.. But this time fully disappointed with it.. Over priced. Biriyani is full of oil. Chicken piece is good..I'll not order in future. Earlier their biriyani was less spicy less oil. Full waste of money.

Kolkata will always be Hiyar majhe. Fish fry and fish paturi was yummylicious. Sitting area is small. Should deck up more with ambience. Truly satisfied with bengali biriyani that too with favorite always demanded "aloo" and dim. Had travelled from marathalli as a friend recommended it. And I am truly satisfied visiting mini kolkata in bangalore that too with authentic bengali flavors.

Had ordered chilli chicken gravy. Taste was average and the quantity could have been better. But this restaurant has potential, will try something else next time.

When you stay away from home and restaurant like this gives a chance to eat home cooked food in pocket friendly price, who would not want this. Few days back they organized a buffet lunch in 350 RS. They served many Bengali dishes in it. The Spread contained begun vaja (brinjal fry), nabaratna dal, fish manchurian, doi ruhu fish, vetki, chicken biriyani (Bengali style), chicken dak bungalow, rasgulla, mango chutney, papad. So price wise it was super deal. Because you can't get all this things in just rupees 350 that too in Bangalore. Apart from price the taste of fish Curries was not quite up to mark. The biriyani was over fragnant. The doi katla grevy was too watery. And another vetki sorse preparation which was made with masterd seed paste, was bitter in taste. chicken was hard to chew. Only I liked their rasgullas. I heard lot about their snacks items looking forward to try them.<br/><br/>
