If you are craving for Biryani at 3AM, this is the best. Located right in the centre of city. Opposite to Jamia Masjid, this place has a legacy for good food specializing in Biryani and Mutton items. Do check out their Lassi and sweet curd too.

This place is an experience. When the food is slow cooked with wood fire and coal, you know it ought to be special.
Situated in city market area, this place will never win awards for cleanliness and hygiene, however it will hearts for its brilliantly tasty and safe Food.
We had the mutton sheek kebab that literally melts in the mouth and not to forget actually has the wood fire fragrance to it. Served it a portion of chutney and onion.
Next up was the Tawa Chicken thats quiet light and perfectly spiced. We tried the liver and brain but those were not very consistent with earlier experiences.
For biryani, get mutton instead of chicken as uts far softer and much more tastier.
We topped the meal with some kerala paraths to go with the sherwa and masala of the starters.
All in all a must visit if you love your non veg, but hardly a family joint so do keep that in mind.
How many restaurants in bangalore serve food at 3AM??
Well this place does!! We had ordered mutton chops, CP(paratha), ghee rice, chicken kebab, mutton sheek... and boy they didn't disappoint me one bit!!! Each dish was rich in flavour. The mutton was fresh, well cooked and succulent. MUTTON CHOPS is a must try for mutton lovers!! It's the kinda place where they use newspapers for tissues... You know what I'm talking right... Not much of an ambience. Go to this place only with expectations for food and you'll come back home satisfied!!!
I’ve been frequenting and love this restaurant in the Kalasipalyam market area for years. The focus here is clearly the food served and is usually visited by people working in and around this area with exceptions like us; but then where there is good food, we are there too.
You love your Biryani and live by it? Then this is the place that serves a really good one - Choose from either chicken / mutton and you will be content with either. The Biryani portions are reasonably sized but are really well portioned as you set out to dig into it. The rice is short grained, flavoured, fragrant, well balanced spiced and the meat is tender and fall of bone. Eaten all by itself as a meal, this one portion is indeed a hearty one and well sufficient a single person to attain food coma. Strangely, unable to locate a pic of this but then it’s fun to sometimes leave things to imagination.
On this visit and many others, we got some usual suspects like the Tawa chicken and mutton Sheek to start with. The Tawa chicken is brilliant and beat eaten hot. The mutton Sheek is served along with chutney and onion on the side. They do serve a good one but then I’ve had better around.
For the mains, we called for Parathas - Ceylon and Kerala along with the brain masala and Methi chicken followed by both Biryani and Khushka as if it were a ritual. Methi chicken is flavourful and delicious, comes with chicken on bone but then succulent and overall a very well prepared dish best enjoyed with the parathas. The brain masala is a nice preparation too but I tend to prefer brain as a dry dish. If you do not wish to call for any meat dishes with the Paratha that works really well too as usually the breads are accompanied with a cup of dal which has nothing much to speak about and the Sherwa which is delicious and addictive to say the least.
Enough said about the Biryani, the Khushka served here is prepared using the dum cooking process too just like the Biryani. The rice is short grained and fragrant with mild spices and gets served with a cup of dal and sherwa. This is best paired with bangalore’s favourite chicken Kabab. Most people visiting here for lunch usually have their meal comprise of either a portion of the Biryani or a portion of Khushka and Kabab.
While this is all the food stuff, you’d find nothing exciting about the ambiance. In fact it is very basic and might need some compromise / truce. Food is served in steel plated and news papers are offered to wipe off the excess water on the plates before your meal and the A’s tissue papers post meal. But then, these are little nothing for a wonderful meal like this one and more importantly, the kitchens are well maintained and I usually do get to visit the kitchen every other time. A meal here is usually an overdose of food and the rest of the day runs in snooze mode.
Wallet factor is indeed a good one with average meal for 2 working out to less than Rs. 600.

I have no clue why it has such poor ratings. Probably because of the ambience. Makes sense. Its decades old and right in kr market.
