If you are foodies who is visiting Bangalore. This is a must go place to dine in at least once. I had the best South meal at this place in just 250 rupees. The quality of food and this place has a really good history of diner. The best part it is a Buffet system that allows you to have as much as food you want. Staff was very much welcoming and courteous. It’s worth every penny.
Excellent for casual dining in groups or with family. Not a cosy place. If one is fond of South Indian authentic food this is the place to go for dining. Extremely cheap when you compare the quality be it food, service, ambience and cleanliness. The restaurant scores 5 stars in all parameters. Total satisfaction guaranteed. We also got sweets from their counter. Needless to mention, mouth watering stuff.
The price is high compared to other places but the taste is worth the money. The food here is really good and a must try thing. The place has a good ambiance and service. A good variety of food, snacks and drinks(MTR products). There's also a good place to sit outside for waiting. I've also added photos of the place,food/snacks and menu to help you.
MTR lives up to it's name and reputation! We had special lunch on a Saturday. The place was full and we went up to the counter and paid to get the token number. Wait time was 15-20 minutes, but we were called in about 10 minutes into wait time.
Seated to the clean table and started with the grape drink - the drink itself was very much satisfying!
The special meals truly lives up to it's name - every food item was indeed special, top quality, served hot - poori, saagu, mini masala dosas, kosambri, cabbage/carrot palya, payasam, pickle, sona papdi, bisi bele bath and pulav with raita, white rice, sambar, rasam, curd rice.
Sweet - Payasam, sona papdi
Fruit salad with ice cream - this is a must, just brings back the nostalgic feeling. I remember having this during my visits to MTR almost 25 years back and the quality and taste is still the same.
Overall - great food, wonderful dining experience and friendly service!
Note - special meals (Rs.280 per meal) is the only option for weekend lunch.
Weekday - special meals and mini meals along with few other items are served.
Bisi bele bath would always tastes better with kara boondi (was served with raita) and Rasam could have been better.
Food is excellent, specially the special meals are excellent, enjoyed a lot. Had verity of foods and each and every food is good. I would recommend this place you will love it. You can also see sweets and snacks which is excellent. I liked it very much
Had masala dosa, rava masala dosa, buter dosa, rava idly, bonda soup, Akki rotti, filter coffee. This place will be crowded usually and you need to wait in queue. Dosa is thick though. Akki rotti was probably the disappointment. Rava idli is the best I would say. Taste wise nothing great can visit once at least. Outside the hotel they have small bakery. Had rasmalai and dry gulab jamoon it wasn’t great.

Good food. Served with a smile. Usually crowded in evening and public holidays. Wait time is 15 min to 30min in busy hours. Authentic south Indian food and with 50+ years of history. Hard to notice while on the move. They offer in limited meals in afternoon lunch(not buffet) they will continue to serve. Best place for family gathering. Not advisable for bday celebration as they won't allow any foods/Cakes from outside restaurant
Best south Indian meal ever!! There will be a lot of rush. Taste of every single item was delicious.. A must try place for all food lovers..The price is also reasonable.😋👌
Great food! Only disappointment was that we went to specifically eat a Thali for an early dinner at 6pm, but they only start serving the Thali at 7pm.. so we ended up ordering idlis and dosas.
Good food, super clean restaurant with clean washrooms. Very well managed. They serve only full meals during lunch time.
