We came to the cafe on the recommendation of a local guide and our driver who expertly drove us up the rather terrifying kacha road that leads to the property. The views from the cafe are stunning. The place is quaint and run by two ladies. Neeta didi and her team served us freshly made authentic kumaoni food on a thali. We opted for the half thali which had 3 veg dishes - pumpkin, aloo ke gutke and lye ki sabzi, gehat ki dal, pahadi raita with mustard paste, red rice, kheer, salad, masoor dal kababs, two chutneys one that was made with caramelized onions and dried mango and spices which was so sublime and the famous bhaang ki chutney, we had hot madua and wheat rotis made on the choola with ghee. Food was spectacular after the long drive. The service is very personal and you feel like you're eating at a pahari home. The two dogs Sultan and Tiger are very cute and lie around without bothering the guests. Will highly recommend this.
A unique experience in the hills. The food was outstanding and the location was gorgeous. Only cons were the approach road which was very steep and not concrete but this was a very unique farm to table experience. Highly recommend.
Perched atop a hill, it makes for a perfect view while having your meal. Farm to table, organic, authentic local food which is served with so much love.
I’d say give it a try and make sure you have space for all that food. It’s a bit of a hike but if you are an explorer you will go that extra mile for good experience.
