Review Pousada By The Beach - Calangute

A very pretty restaurant by the beach. Lots of bougenvilla flowers near and around the entrance. Flavourful food. My family ate a mix of veg and non veg dishes- which they enjoyed. I got the owner’s recommendation on vegan dishes for myself. He also kindly accommodated my request to make my dishes without onion garlic. My vegan dishes were tasty too. The owner’s dogs were all quite cute too and had cute names like Chai, Biscuit 😊😊a nice afternoon spent!

the food was great. i had the steak and it was really juicy and good. the atmosphere was awesome and the beach was good. there were 3 very cute dogs belonging to the owner. on top of that the owner was also really kind and gave us free seashells. awesome place and i really recommend it

Dined for Sunday brunch a while back and still fondly remember the chorizo, calamari peri peri and oh my god - the sorpotel & butter garlic poie is a match made in heaven. Kuddos Neville Love the place, vibe and concept A must visit when In goa.

Amazing hosts Neville and his son Zoran. Restaurant is scenic and beautiful. Sunset view from there beachfront was really enjoyed by us. Their curated menu was perfect and worth it, Zoran personally took orders from the guests. The 3 Furr companions were icing on cake for pet lovers. Staff hospitality was warm and service was quick. Surely visiting them again whenever we go next. Thanks Neville, Zoran and team.

Went there on a Saturday afternoon for lunch ! There is no direct way to reach there and involves a bit of walking behind some shops and through the green lands. Its such a peaceful place ! By the beach, windy and lots of greens around.. The highlight was of course the food - we loved every dish we were served. Yes - its on the pricier side of things but if the good taste and variety makes up for it !! We tried a multitude of options in appetisers, mains and desert. Everything from shrimp crostini, fried calamari, to veg and chicken xacuti, pork vindaloo tasted amazing ! Vindaloo here is a little to string with cinnamon - so its a hit or miss with food lovers. The soup was served in a tall cup- first for me but was brimming hot and full of flavours. Secondly, the fish & chips were really fresh (King fish) - really filling and perfectly golden brown dish. The highlight for us was the desert- Serradora, Chocolate gelato and Paan flavoured ice cream. The betel flavoured ice cream also had Magic pops topping - the one that pops on your tongue. The host Nevil is a charmer, very friendly and engages with all the guests. This place also has a (sort of) private entry to the Candolim beach. This side of Candolim beach is devoid of crowd so you can bask in the salty water and be peaceful by the beach.

Love this place and the vibe and the food! The hosts are cordial and warm and will help you select your food and drinks. I had shrimps and watermelon margarita, it was so delicious and filling. Thank you team Pousada by the Beach for making our lunch a wonderful experience. We will definitely come back. Keep up the awesome vibe and work! 😊

Highly recommend: it's a great place to go and eat out; beach front restaurant, with a perfect location that is set back just far enough to avoid noise from the road and beach. Food standards were fantastic: we had a big group that had a mixture of meat, vegetarian, and vegan, all were catered for and explained every meal was lush. It was a birthday celebration for twins, allowed us to bring a cake and do the whole candles and decorations for us.

Amazing place ! It’s very relaxing, and needless to say the food is scrumptious. Loved it, and I’m saving it to my favourites so that I definitely visit again 😁

The first place in North Goa we have been to with no music and no Wifi and let me tell you it was the best thing about this place !! In the midst of all the North Goa hustling Pousada is a refreshing change for people looking for good food and quality time with friends and family !!! My husband and I visited Pousada By The Beach for lunch on our first wedding anniversary in the first week of May, not really the peak season. We were greeted by the owners themselves, extremely warm and friendly family, that wants to ensure your having the best time !! The family includes Chai and Biscuit, the most calm yet friendly labradors I've ever met � We started off with some mocktails, strawberry and pomegranate mojito and the virgin mojito with a twist .. it was the perfect thing to beat the heat if you want to avoid alcohol when in Goa (that's less likely though �) We hit the main course straight after and the prawns balchao was undoubtedly the best I've had in Goa .. authentic !! I'm not a very big fan of dried shrimp.. however they mask the flavour really well in this dish.. and all in all it's perfect !! Nishit Pathak ordered the Goan Pork Chourico Pulao and he enjoyed his meal to the fullest ! Joshua and his father made regular trips to our table to ensure we were enjoying our meal. The portion sizes are just perfect, infact it's a bit larger than most of the other places offering food in North Goa. The biggest compliment we would give the owners is the standard and quality they are maintain. We wished to have a look around their kitchen as well, and it was super clean and really well organised. This is definately one of the best restaurants in North Goa, a class apart from the other usual shacks. We would surely recommend it. I've saved the best for the last.!! And I want to tell you all how AMAZING their Serradura dessert is � oh my god.. this was my 8th visit to Goa and I've never tried any real local dessert, except Bebinca, but if you have this Portuguese origin dessert which they make so beautifully at Pousada .. you'll forget everything else. It's on my list when I return to Goa. I'm more of a chocolate person, and i would never really go for something non chocolate unless I know what it tastes like. But we are so glad we had the Serradura.. it was incredible.. I want to go back !!!

Can't get over the place..so quiet and peaceful with it's lovely ambience and decor..the best place in North Goa I have been to and I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Goa and looking for a relaxing place to sit by the beach..known for it's speciality in Goan food, it's indeed one..the platters are amazing..the guy who served us, Joshwa, who also happens to be the owner of the place was extremely courteous and another reason for you to love the place !!

Since being in Goa I have been to many restaurants, but none of them even held a torch to this one. My partner stumbled across this place and recommended we visit the following day, we ended up having lunch AND dinner here simply because the food is incredible! I had the grilled fish in a banana leaf for lunch and the Goan fish curry for dinner, I would rate both dishes 10/10! I am overly impressed with not only the food, but the wonderful service. At the end of our dinner we were even given a complimentary dessert, a traditional Goan dish with homemade ice cream, all the while watching the sun set over the sea. Beautiful place, a must see if in Goa!

Beautiful place, has so much character of Goa with tiny things spread around the place. The minute I entered I fell in love with the place. Food was great and the owners, Neville and Joshua, add to the charm of the place by their smiling service. Best part was no loud music, just the sound of the waves and you can actually talk and listen! Lovely clean beach. I am happy we went on the recommendation of our friends.

This place is amazing. Put simply it’s exactly the place you are searching for when you come to Goa - quiet, calm, beautiful with drinks and great food, right on the beach so you can watch the waves as you relax.<br/>If you love seafood, you shouldn't miss the place. The food is on the expensive side over here but it's totally worth it. But, if you want to explore good quality food and don't mind the price, it is the place to go.<br/>They shut shop early at 7pm; so be there early for a nice brunch or lunch.

Pousada By the Beach – had this place on my go-to list for several of my Goa holidays. And finally after several attempts, made it there a few months ago.<br/><br/>In the chaos of Calangute, I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Calm, clean and serene, almost like you’re disconnected from the otherwise busy area. To a point, some people refused to believe where I was – you got to see this place to believe my hype.<br/><br/>We got there for an early lunch, so the place for pretty empty. But an hour later is when the crowd kept flowing in. So do try to reserve in advance to not be disappointed.<br/><br/>Joshua was our host for the afternoon – friendly & polite, with some warm hospitality; almost like home :)<br/><br/>We started with some Sangrias. Whilst we waited for our food – Crusty Prawns, Peri-Peri Fish, Prawn Curry and Steamed Rice, along with some bread. The food was delicious, with a very homely feel to it. The best part for me was dunking that bread in the amazing curry – yum!<br/><br/>And all that to devour whilst you’re enjoying some gorgeous views, with the sound of the sea. Pretty much perfect.<br/><br/>One thing though, the price – it’s quite steep. So do be mindful of that, if you’re under a budget. But you’ve got to go here at least once, to experience Pousada By the Beach...

First things first. See the price of the menu. 'aukat hai toh jane ka'. One of the best in goa and away from that boring food. Veg part is limited but it very fine. Non veg as per my friends review it is awesome. You can give a try

Every visit to Pousada by the Beach warms my heart - from the excellent setting and view , the amazing drink selection and food. Had a fantastic aged Red wine Sangria while the son loved his Strawberry Diaquiri and the Mother gulped down her Tamarind Margherita.. and after some snacks to go with our sundowners we ended it with the stellar Serradura. But what has my heart every time is the fanatastic service and the kind attention that Joshua always accords to everyone who visits. His love and passion for what he does is clear to see. I highly recommend that everyone make the Pousada experience a must do every visit to Goa .

This place is AMAZING! So amazing that we went 3 times during our 5 days in Goa. The owner is lovely and gave excellent food recommendations. The food, though some say is expensive, is delicious and WELL worth the price. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The ambiance is so relaxing and beautiful. I could spend all day at this cozy restaurant. Pousada By The Beach is definitely a highlight of my Goa trip and I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for casual/relaxing beach vibes, friendly people, and the best Goan food you can find.

Definately it's a bful location, next to the beach and great service but dish pricing is quite steep. Especially, the fact that it's a local goan cuisine and hence the competition exists at a better pricing <br/><br/>No complains from the food, loved it from main course of local goan flavours to local goan dessert Serra dura...which was amazing ...and the combination of rice and gravy with the crispy and fresh salad on the sides was really divine. Can visit if someone else is paying for me :P ..!!

This restaurant is perfect in every way! Location, ambiance, food and service everything was spot-on. Our server was super helpful in helping us select the dishes. We tried the Peri-peri prawns and Veg Xacuti. Both dishes were brilliant. Special mention for the fresh lime soda which was the best I have ever had. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Although the prices are quite high as compared to other fine dining restaurants in Goa but still this place is a must-must visit!

Run by a father - son duo this is as personal a gastronomic service you’ll get anywhere in Goa. Almost everything here is brilliant! But in case you’re confused about what to order, just go ahead and get the Seafood Platter. Or just go ahead and order anything- you can’t really go wrong!

If that ain't good enough to make you feel at home, you have Chai and Biskut which are their lovely 2 cream colored labs who are happy to shower you with all the love. Then let's talk about food. You can feel the love in every morsel. I swear by every item I tried there - prawn balchao, Portuguese bread and Sungtanche Kodi, sangria and Bebinca. The place retains a homely feel. Has a direct access to the beach. The interiors are simple and retain an old school charm. It is probably good that there is no DJ as it makes it a place where you can connect and enjoy the food. I see myself going back there again.

An exlusive resturant with a great ambience and view, not crowded at all, very expensive thus only coustomers who read about it come here. The service and staff is excellent and very courteous. The food is good we ordered a continental dist pasta with seafood, the staff told us their speciality is goan food and suggested some dishes but we had already had a lot of goan food in our trip thus wanted a continental dish.The portion was huge and the taste was good. I am sure if we had ordered thier speciality the food review would have been excellent too. Moctails range from 400 rs and above, any food iten starts around 900 rs thius can be heavy on pocket😁

Had the BEST time at Pousada by the beach. In my opinion it’s the finest restaurant of the country thanks to the delicious food, insane cocktails, spectacular view, cool vibe and lovely owners. <br/>I visited Pousada in December with my family. We were warmly welcomed by Pousada’s superstars Joshua and Neville. <br/>Joshua was kind to recommend the most amazing dishes and whackiest cocktails while Neville made us feel right at home. It’s the people that make a place as well and hats off to the father-son duo for making us permanent fans of themselves and their restaurant ❤️❤️ <br/>It’s a place you can spend your entire day. Eat, drink, go to the beach, come back drink some more, shower(they have the most gorgeous outdoor stone shower😍) <br/>And last but not the least if you’re a dog lover then you’ll<br/>find Biscuit and Chai, their two dogs, make special appearances to fill up the place with even more love 🐶🐶<br/>Pousada by the beach is not just a place, it’s an experience. <br/> Don’t miss out!

We discovered this place on our trip to Goa this time. Lovely ambience. The food was by far one of the best we have eaten in Goa. The hosts are very warm and hospitable too. Totally loved the place. This one has sure made it our must do in Goa lists on all our trips going forward.

Great place to lunch or huddle with friends n family on the shore.<br/><br/>Wooden chairs are not the most comfortable.<br/><br/>The host family including their kids are very welcoming, proficient and helpful.<br/><br/>However my disappointment is the value proposition vis a vis food thats being served. I was offered to be dazzled by a surprise Chefs special - It was Fish Balchao with rice and salad (cabbage shreds, pomogranate, sprouts were very un impressive for a side). Fish balchao cooked pronto was not impressive as the carmelized onion vinegar gravey wasnt infused enough into the fish (as in pickling). Later, I ordered Calamari roasted and tossed with butter garlic. Unfortunately the Calamari was far from being the freshest ive eaten and was rubbery so quite chewy. Ordered a Melon juice cooler (had to get it replaced as the initial one separated into transparent and dark layer and was bland) to wash down. I expected more for a total damage of Rs 2,100/-.

What an absolutely fantastic find this place was! A part of me wants to keep it as my hidden secret (though i know how immensely popular the place is) and another part of me wants everyone to find this gem.<br/><br/>Joshua's hospitality coupled with the breathtaking sunset views along with the absolutely delectable food make me want to visit this place again ASAP.<br/><br/>ALSO, if you're lucky you'll get to play with the two cuties Chai and Biscuit as well.<br/><br/>I tried the peri peri fish and red wine sangria. Pousada by the beach is a must visit when in goa! It has a beautiful view of sun and sea from the place of seatings. Their sangria is one of the best I have ever had! 😍 <br/>The staff is so courteous and they would make you feel like home. And then toppings to the cake are: Chai and Biscuit, they are labs who are very very cute and friendly. Their seafood is also amazing, do try it!

Ohmygod! I had the best cold coffee ever, I'm not even kidding. Sucha creamy coffee, worth every penny. And for the view, oh good god, I couldn't ask for anything else.

This place was recommended to me by a friend who took us there. All four of us came from different places and we're meeting after the longest time and wanted to eat good food and have a good time. So right from the moment we entered the place we fell in love with it. The view, the food, vibe, chai and biscuit (the cutest little dogs who mind their business and chill by themselves - totally stole the thunder). The owner's son Joshua was extremely jovial and warm and gave us amazing recommendations on what to eat depending on each our palates. Infact one of our friends is extremely difficult in terms of her food choices but even she ended up being satisfied. So much so that we ended up spending the whole day at just this place. Ofcourse Chai and Biscuit had a big role to play :p.<br/>But I definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting or re-visiting Goa. If you love good food, want a spectacular view and are obsessed with dogs then this is the perfect place to spend the day.

Situated in Calangute, this place is a gem.. the way leading to the restaurant itself is mesmerising.. you enter the restaurant and you are greeted by Neville and Josh.. The ambience is so well curated that I was awestruck.. perfect lil place by the beach for you to spend time with your loved ones.. plus there are two lil cuties.. Labrador named Chai and Biscuit.<br/><br/>Now coming to the food.. lemme be honest.. this place is on the expensive side, so people who want food at cheap rates please stay away.. this place is not for you..<br/><br/>We ordered watermelon juice, beer, Masala Fries, Veg Xacuti and Chicken in Goan sauce (suggested by Josh).<br/><br/>The watermelon juice was very fresh and was given to us within 5 mins of placing the order.<br/>Masala Fries were too spicy to be honest. However, we did not raise this with either Neville or Josh, so we won’t put any blame on them.<br/>Chicken in Goan Sauce.. well well this was absolutely delicious... the chicken was well cooked..there was perfect blend of taste with the spicy chicken and sweetness from salad..this was served with rice and poi(bun)<br/>Veg Xacuti.. this came with steamed rice.. the gravy is very Rich with loads of cashews in it.. we even joked that Neville must be having a cashew farm🙂.. this was a perfect Goan dish that we were looking for..<br/>Note, all the main course are served with rice.. although they say the one portion main course feeds one, I must say that one portion can feed two if you are having starters..<br/>Only one point for Neville to note.. we did see chai and biscuit going into the kitchen.. while we are completely fine with it, there may be other customers who may not like it.. Pousada by the beach is a place you’d want to stay for at hours and just watch the beautiful sea. This is probably the best place you’ll find to eat at calangute beach(great location). I don’t think I can narrow down one or two best dishes cause all of them are so delicious and cooked with utmost love. I have visited Pousada by the beach whenever I have gone to goa and will continue to do so in the near future as well. We had Fish&Chips and a Prawn Blachao. They were so delicious that we could not have just one! We had fresh juices along with. Highlight of the place are the most beautiful labs, Chai & Biscuit❤️ I would definitely recommend this place to everyone who’s visiting and try as many dishes as they can from their amazing menu.

This place is a must try for anybody holidaying in Goa! The food is amazing and the family that runs the place makes it all the more loveable. Joshua is always warm, <br/>welcoming and recommends perfect cocktails and food, and has become more of a friend now since we go there so often! The view is splendid, food is delicious and chai and biscuit (their two adorable dogs) just add to the whole experience. We always go to Pousada at least once (if not more) every single time we go to Goa, which is very very often! <br/>Would most definitely recommend!

It’s a normal beach side outlet with average interiors . The food was just fine didn’t find it that great. <br/>

I ordered the crab, which for 2200 is super expensive. It was oily as hell could t tell whether I was eating crab or just some oily vegetable fry.

We heard abt this place from a relative and knew it shuts at 7. We called them at 6:39 to ask if they would wait for us, the guy was amazing and they waited for us. We went there just to have a drink and for the ambience. The staff is very very friendly and chilled. We had two starters which were good. Chai and biscuit two beautiful lab sisters. They are the best and love belly rubs. Thank u guys for waiting for us. This place is a must try ❤️❤️❤️

This restaurant is located at the end of the busy Holiday Street in Calangute. It is set in very large grounds. The location is fantastic. The owner and his son attend to customers personally. They are friendly and helpful. The food was delicious.

A small beachfront restaurant run by a lovely family. The moment you walk into this place you are greeted with the two most adorable dogs Chai & Biscuit. The sound of the waves hitting the shores is the best thing you can ask for when in Goa. <br/>Must recommend the prawn curry here. The fish in banana leaf was so fresh & delicious. If you love seafood you definitely shouldn’t miss this place.

The view- breathtaking. The ambience - out of the world- sitting by the seashore. The staff- extremely friendly, professional, courteous, chatty- know when to kick off as well as bring an end to a conversation. Can suggest what to eat, drink and you would be delighted with the result.<br/><br/>They serve awesome Sangrias. Loved both the white and the red wine sangria. And even a simple cocktail of lime + white wine was elevated making it something with both a zing and the right level of sweetness. Food- Can’t complain about their cooking.<br/><br/>All in all - a place to relax, see the sun going down into the sea and have a great evening with friends and loved ones. <br/><br/>Just one odd aspect- their bills are still hand written.

I recently visited this beautiful restaurant with amazing food and super friendly staff ! The hosts were very nice and courteous .. the place offers a spectacular view and it’s so serene ! They have two really cute dogs as well for company ! Could you ask for any better ! Joshua was very sweet and also told us about the celebs that frequent it and their stories ! We wanted to try the Goan desert serradura and we didn’t find it anywhere in Goa except here and it was yummmm !<br/>I absolutely loved everything about this restaurant and will definitely be back ! While the location & ambience is good, the food & drink is average at best and highly overpriced. Moreover the owners do not take feedback well and therefore are unlikely to improve. On a 'Google review' they pasted a link in response which said that one can be prosecuted for giving a bad review. As a paying customer I'd like to see that happen 😀

The owners were not very welcoming. They passed rude personal comments and clearly displayed that they were judging us inside out looking at the brand of assets and attire we were in. It was really uncomfortable. It was definitely not like our group was shabbily dressed. It wasn’t my first time in Goa. I am a regular and have been to Olive, Cavala and so many other beautiful places. This one wasn’t much warm and friendly.

A beautiful restaurant with a breathtaking sea view, amazing food and extremely polite staff. The ambience is pretty interesting too if you'd like to have a meal looking at the ocean.<br/><br/>Ordered crushed pepper prawn and peri-peri fish as a main course which was served with some salad, flavored rice and bread. Absolutely loved the prawns here as they were fresh, tasty and they were indeed served with a great presentation. The staff was extremely friendly and courteous too and offered to click pictures for us and ensured we were having a good time.<br/><br/>The place has a lot of greenery around and you might want to take a stroll around and you can say hello to the extremely cute dogs they have around the place.

The place is great, food is great, & people are great.  Neville taking care of guests made the place all the more great.   The sea side view is excellent.

Visited this place on Monday the 26th during afternoon hours and was delighted. Unlike, other popular restaurants in Goa, Pousada is quite unassuming but exactly my kind of place! If u would like to relax by the beach, pet the resident dogs Chai n Biscuit, watch the waves and dig into authentic goan food then, this is your place too.<br/>Run by Neville and his family, this is not your run of the mill restaurant where waiters run around for orders and try to rush guests. In fact, in this age of marketing, they are bucking the trend and relying on good old service, awesome food which speaks for itself and word of the mouth publicity.<br/>We had the freshest goan bread with pork vindaloo and a king fish curry ( nusncheati kodi) n rice with beer of our choice.<br/>Much later, as we continued to watch the waves crash we dug into the divine dessert Serradurre.<br/>Would love to go back again n again.

The place is located near the calangute beach.The view and service was amazing.The food is good but little pricey.Tried their seafood platter and coolers.The seafood was fresh and yummy

Since the place is so highly rated on various sites, we really just went here to spend some time by the beach and get some alcohol.<br/>The people who run the place are friendly and its a nice cozy ambience next to the beach and they have a shower facility as well.<br/><br/>Do call and check before you go, if they are open as they shut quite early during the monsoons.<br/><br/>Though we only got drinks, I realised that the place is really expensive compared to other joints around

They get caught up with the competition, and tend not to focus on themselves. Some, treated purely as businesses, get lost in the competition, and some shine, like the jewel that they truly are.<br/>Pousada, how you've made my lunch one of the best meals I've had in Goa, is beyond me. You've found a way to balance out a palette perfectly. Fresh, local produce come together with the talent at this restaurant, and the outcome is intense flavors, that were surpringly fresh and light. There was never a time where I looked out for a glass of water, salt or pepper in the middle of my meal.<br/>The ambience, much like the food, was relaxing. The sea breeze and the sound of the waves was all the music we needed.<br/>Neville Proenca was an exceptional host, and looked after us like we were guests at his home.<br/>I've just left Pousada, and I can't wait to go back.<br/>Great job, team Pousada. Pousada by the beach has been my favourite place in Goa to chill and I have introduced all my friends to it whenever we have visited Goa and they couldn’t have thanked me enough for it ☺️<br/>The hosts are super friendly and the food looked like experimental and authentic Goan cuisine to me which was delicious. The vibe is amazing and it is right by the beach perfect for sun downers. Would visit next season too. Cheers!

Amazing food and hospitality. Their fish balchao and crusty prawns are not to be missed. The view and the food is must try. Had a great time. Would go back again for sure

Excellent view and ambience, open during rains as well . Wow 😲. Pet friendly I am sure the children would love the two friendly labs loitering around . Must visit in Goa , difficult place to park your cars but worth it .

Very good experience - my wife and I both love the place! Today was our second visit, and we’ve come here for lunch on both occasions. Great food, spectacular views and very friendly staff. Special mention to the two good natured labs - Chai and Biscuit!! While all the dishes we had were nice, we particularly enjoyed the serradurra. It’s a very different type of dessert - just the right amount of sweet and with a couple of different textures. Highly recommend the place; and we will try to come here every time we visit Goa.

I don’t usually write reviews , as I’m too lazy. So when I do, it means that a Restaurent has overwhelmed me enough to shake me out of my hubris . This place is just that experience . The food , the drinks , the view , everything here makes me wish I could simply lounge here all day , everyday and make this my life . The prices may be on the higher side , but snatch one of the seats by the window , order one of their fruit-based cocktails ( try watermelon mojito or sangria), and read a book while you munch on their freshly prepared delicacies . You won’t regret this for a bit.

Really bad experience. Expected a lot after many reviews. Food was bad. Staff was not attending properly. Overall I spoiled my lunch by choosing this place. A bad mark on my goa trip...

Worst ever place. Really rude staff. Highly overrated. They don't even serve water. You have to ask for everyone sitting on the table separately. Don't waste your time and energy.

Worth the high rating..very friendly..good vegetarian options..excellent ambience n view of the beach. One of the best Goan food we have had.

Pousada By the Beach.. the one place which gives such a beautiful experience everytime we visit.. the food curated is top notch and the vibe is beyond anything that you can get in North Goa.. the fact that the only sound you hear is of the ocean and the eyes can see specially cultivated greenery followed by the ocean in the horizon takes us away from the unwanted hustle bustle of North Goa.. Pousada is the place my wife and I drive across Goa to have meal as it offers a mix that defines tranquility, luxury, homely comfort, amazing food and not to forget their handcrafted cocktails (are just amazingly balanced and fresh) special shout-out to Joshua who runs the place with great ease and really gets us comfortable with the whole set up, his suggests for cocktails were impeccable and food went hand in hand with it.. all in all it is a must visit for many reasons (food, drinks, vibe, feel-good factor, view, peace, desserts) but mainly if you want to take back a real slice of great memory for Goa. Thanks Pousada by the beach for a lovely time.

Hands down one of the best places to visit in Goa. The view of the beach and the sunset is absolutely sublime! The staff were super friendly and polite and made our experience 100% better. If you’re confused about what to order they’re more than happy to recommend something you’d like. The drinks that were recommended to us were amazing so you can trust you are in good hands! <br/>Highlight of our experience were chai and biscuit who are the friendliest and cutest dogs you’ll ever meet 😍 Would definitely recommend this place to anyone and will keep coming back 😊

To start with on the ambience, it's a pretty place with a great view of the sea. Then the food... It's quite average. A lil disappointing after reading the reviews. The cocktail suggested, a pomegranate n apple infused gin had a bitter after taste which was difficult to shake off. The grilled fish was done nicely and the accompanying salad was very good, but nothing extraordinary. The prawn curry n rice was very average, did not feel like authentic Goan ....intact on the continental side.<br/><br/>Full marks to the service and the staff, very courteous and polite.....all in all nothing that can be said is unique to this place only.

Not worth the effort. The food was below average. The drinks and menu suggested by the person taking the order were quite bitter and horrible respectively. We were told the pomegranate infused cocktail is one of their best. The food which we asked for local cusine was soooooooo bland.....I mean how can someone go wrong with standard prawns Curry and rice right here in GOA!!! But they managed! It was so Continental..... And not goanese at all. The third dish- fish was ok....<br/>The only saving grace was the staff. They would keep coming every 2 minutes to ask if all ok!!! And we didn't have a heart to give it to them on their polite faces right there.<br/><br/>Ended up paying roughly selling 3.3 k for just these 3 things for the 2 of us.<br/><br/>Please go to local shacks and enjoy the authentic goan food.

Went there for lunch today with friends. What an amazing place, fab ambience - overlooking the Arabian Sea. The slight drizzle and breeze was icing. We ordered multiple dishes and everything was super tasty. They had a very good Goan Beer - Eddie as well. The owners manage the place themselves.

Fab place, family owned, great home grown coconut, great food, great location & a cute pet CHAI !! What else you want in life. Thank you sir for sharing this precious place. God bless !!

I cannot talk enough about how beautiful the location and vibe of this place is. The view and the surrounding gardens are stunning + You get your own little beach! For us Chai and Biscuit were the highlights of the visit 🐶 <br/>Josh was a great host as well, and the food was delicious, especially the tenderloin spaghetti (aglio olio). Can't wait to be back.

Pousada by the Beach is located inside a cosy nook at Candolim. Menu is limited, food a tad bit on the expensive side...butt yummylicious. They have a private entrance to the beach and you get personalized treatment from the owner and his son. They are very courteous and helpful with recommendations as well. It’s a lunch place as they shut shop at 7pm; so be there for a nice brunch/lunch. Overall great place with great ambience!

Really nice place,real quick service, good ambience, great host, had a great time chilling by the beach, in fact it is one of those places where you can stay near the beach even if it is raining heavily! It was a little expensive but worth it!

We visited Pousada by the beach on the recommendation of our friends and this place lived up to all the praises we had heard about. From the view of this shack right infront of the beach which was clean and serene to the local humble friendly hospitality given to us by Joshua, it started with a chilled sangria for me and a mojito for my friend. They have two adorable labradors chai and biscuit that make a dog lover like me feel at home and to top it they serve amazing food. We ordered for coriander prawns which was heavenly the prawns were fresh and good size with a mild taste of coriander in thick creamy gravy served with rice. The second dish ordered was peri peri chicken served with rice and fresh yummy salad. The portioning was apt which was a plus, the service was quick and Joshua was proactive and polite to us all through. Over all this shack is a 5 star experience for people who love great food and drinks a serene quiet environment, dogs and a warm feeling of Goan hospitality .

The best goan good you can get.. A place run and managed by Dad and Son. The location cannot grt any better l. You have the beach on one hand and greens on the other. When you club it with the best food available around you cant really ask for more. The price is quite reasonable. Cant debate on that. To give you company you would have chai biscuit 😁 i loved this place. Will visit every time im in Goa.

Ahhh!! We visited this place on our last day and I was touched by the quaint cafe. Been to a number of shacks but those are extremely commercial. This place has amazing food, lovely ambience and the crowd needs a definite mention too. The hosts call for loud cheers as they know how to treat their guests right

Amazing location just on the beach. Open 365 days in a year. Timing a bit odd 11 to 7. Its not only a resraurant but an entire amazing experience. Its a family run restaurant by NEVILLE and his sons.<br/><br/>All dishes are amazing. Joshua will suggest good dishes.<br/><br/>Please call them before visit. At times they are booked for private parties.
