Authentic, clean, peaceful beach shack run by owner/chef Anna and her helpful waiters. Ask what dishes are fresh on the menu and you will get tasty homemade food. Generous portions of light, crisp prawn and vegetable pakoras are a welcome snack. If fresh, try the tiger prawn masala or king prawn masala which both come with fresh made chips and a coleslaw style salad. And for a Goan specialty try the coconut infused chicken xacute with plain and butter naan breads. Anna will improvise too so any meat/veg/fish can be served with a different sauce if you request it. Wonderful setting, no loud music, WC, free Wi-Fi, free use of sunbeds, a great place for a sunset view AND delicious food too! James Shack deserves 5* and we wish them well.

Ate here a couple of times. Just loved the home cooked fresh food. The best we had in Goa.
This is the best authentic "Goan" food shack in North Goa. Meet the owner Annie, who can cook up a storm. The vindaloo, xacutti, and cafreal are amazing and the sauteed pork sausages are the best in Goa, spicy and oily, but awesome. The service, like every other shack, is slow and carefree in a good sort of way, but here it comes with a smile.

Very relaxed and laid back at the quieter end of Candolim. Mainly middle aged couples and friends, no rowdiness just good atmosphere.
This shack is at the quieter end of the beach ideal if you like a bit of space. The food is delicious, and varied to suit all tastes. The staff are helful and friendly at all times.
We have used James shack for the last 3 years, very friendly staff, fantastic atmosphere, Best food on the beach (better than some places on the strip) Guaranteed!! Would highly recommend !!!

We have visited goa for the first-time and was advised by others to try James's shack x this is run by a wonderful family and from the moment we arrived they have treated us like royalty x their food is outstanding and you will not get deli belly here as it's spotless clean toilet and shower x we just can not fault them x their hospitality and kindness is perfect and I will so miss them but will be returning next year thankyoux from on Simon and chrissy Cornwall England
