Stopped at this place for a small lunch,the restaurant is clean and crowded in the afternoons.food was yummy with variety of chutneys and idly podi.

Amazing place for trying authentic south Indian style food. They don't use plates or bowls for food insist of this they give banana leaf. Various type of chutneys serves with sambhar and with this you can pick idli, vada, Medhi vada, dosa etc. Must try masala idli I personally liked it and gun powder.

Being in Chennai and not eating idly with sambar will not sound great. Here comes the Great Murugan Idly Shop where we actually get the real flavour of idly with sambar. Typical podum idly, button idly and what not. Awesome ambience and friendly staff. We can expect a bit of high cost, sure thing is we will never regret as the taste is awesome. The softness of idly is what we will actually like here.

Visited this place on my trip to Chennai.. Great place for the locals.. Their ghee podi idli, paneer masala dosa, ghee podi uttappam are a must try.. Every meal is served on a banana leaf over a plate which makes it even more authentic south Indian. Good service but be prepared for the wait.. Missed out on the Jigarthanda.. will try it on my next visit..
