The view is breath taking in the evenings, with the shore being seen. The alcohol is blended so well, and the staff is extremely caring. The themed weeks they have, are curated very well as you can see in the pictures. Don't forget to go this December!, I'm sure their special Christmas drinks will knock you off your feet, quite literally.
Situated at one of the most prominent area of chennai, Besant Nagar Beach. This restaurant cum bar is a small little place which serves great food with a decent ambiance. The alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages are priced decently. I really enjoyed the nachos platter and pasta here. This place can be enjoyed along with friends and family over some niche appetizers and drinks. I would recommend this place!
I have heard about this place a lot of times and thought of going there to checkout this place but I never really tried. This time also we planned to go somewhere else but the friend who's leaving chennai wanted to visit. We went there during GIRF and we had a pass of 50% on alcohol. This plan is applicable only on domestic spirits.
We ordered one chilly paneer which was good. Paneer was soft.
Kozhi vepudu which is good and is an andhra style chicken. Chicken was soft and well cooked.
Penna arrabiata pasta which was okay.
Herb roast chicken with piri piri mash and butter glazed vegetables. Chicken was so soft and very tasty but had bones. It was supposed to be without bones.
In drinks we ordered one apple Martini, Batidas, Vodka sunrise and Mojito. All if the drinks were nice and fancy. Place was crowded and the staff members were nice. At the end they take a lot of time to get the bill.
Love this place all over. A best spot to hang out with friends or even alone . Alone time with safety is a tough combination these days. Always felt safe as a women to go alone and have a quality me time. All the staff provide enough attention and comfort.

I was here with a group and we had a few appetizers and drinks.
Food, both veg and Non veg are good and portion size is small.
I have tried podi idly, starters platter, chilli paneer, and schezwan fried rice.
Service is quick and staff is polite.
They have a clean washroom and an open smoke zone.
This place is spread along 2 levels.
Usually gets crowded during weekends, so reservation is preferred to avoid waiting.
I also like the interior, unique concept of books and bottles on walls.
A nice place to have a drink or 2 by the beach.
Great resto bar with mouthwatering food and amazing live music.
Ambience was nice, wonderful customer service and the dishes tastes really good. They have varieties of dishes and drinks.It was exciting to see DJ with the young crowd around.

This place is arguably the most happening place near Besant magar beach... It's crowded on all days especially in the evening hours... We went there on a Wednesday at 7:30PM, yet it was packed and we had to wait before we could get a table...
Coming to the ambience of this place, it's very lively but a bit too loud for my liking... The decor is really nice and the sitting arrangement is also quite nice for a small place like this... The seating arrangement makes the place look bigger than it actually is...
Coming to the food, we ordered Calamari Rings, Kabab Platter and minced cilantro fried chicken... The food arrived in no time... I was really happy and surprised with the responsiveness of the staff during the busy hours... Wow!!! The Calamari Rings were not upto the mark... It was a bit too chewy... It was a bit cold when it arrived and that was not expected... But despite that the flavors were there... The masala sprinkled on top of calamari was really good... The kabab platter was really nice... Especially the hariyali kabab... Simply loved it... All the kababs were soft, juicy and succulent... The final one was minced cilantro fried chicken... It was just the normal chicken fingers which had a cilantro sauce as the side... It was nice but nothing special... Liked it...
Coming to the drinks, had ordered login to bessy... It was fresh and refreshing... The watermelon flavor and orange flavor complemented each other perfectly... Really done nicely...
Overall a good place to chill out near the Elliot Beach... If you are looking at a place which has good music, ambience and good drinks, then look no further and hop in to this place...

I've always loved going to BOATS. It's a calm, soothing spot that offers every delicious food and drink you might want to have after a good day at the beach. Me and my friends visited the place around evening on New Year, and I'm so glad I went there.
Of, plus, the Beach view would be splendid if you go to the Balcony!
The staff were all polite and helpful, and they were prompt of course.
The food was delicious, completely fulfilling. We had cheesy nachos, fries, Mac & Cheese and more.
Our drinks were all served well with the right blend. My Long Island Iced Tea felt good with just a tiny little buzz.
I'd visit boAts more as I'm now so attached to this place!

Absolutely loved the quirky decor, friendly staff and the delicious food 🔥 If you love mocktails definitely try Login to Bessy. It's the most refreshing drink I've ever had. The chicken tandoori platter was exquisite as was the Oreo caramelized apple crumble with ice cream. I'd literally go back just for the dessert.
Amazing place with beach view and good quality food. The restaurant was clean and service was super fast. The beef steak served with grilled veggies and mashed potato should deserve ⭐️ credit. The meat tenderness and taste was really awesome. We also had BOATS platter and chicken burger but weren’t satisfied with quantity for price paid.
Beautiful place and amazing food! We went for a friend’s birthday on an afternoon so the place was quiet with just three tables filled. I loved the ambience and they have a smoking area which is separated. I wonder why they don’t have a vent for the smoke to get out because it gets suffocating in there. Thankfully it’s separated with a glass door from the rest of the restoration.
We ordered the lunch combo which I should say is extremely cheap. You get two starters, one main course and one dessert with a choice of beer!
I loved everything that came to my table. Prawn and grilled fish are must order! I heard the chicken tastes nice.

Highly recommend!! 5star overall, 5star+ for service alone. I wanted to arrange a nice lunch for my mom on her birthday. I reached out to the restaurant through Google chat option, honestly I wasn't too hopeful to receive a response but I got a response quite quickly from Raghu, I continued to chat with him on WhatsApp. Well, what can I say, he took care of everything right from cake to flowers, from decorations to recommending options from the menu and beyond. At my request, he made his staff click pics/video and shared it with me. My mom is delighted with the special queen-like treatment she got :) and very pleased with the service. My parents loved the food and the ambiance of the restaurant. With all my heart I thank Raghu and all the staff members who provided service beyond expectations. I will visit you , the next time I come to Chennai.
Polite and very good service. The cocktails and shooters are amazing. Pacific Blue and Classic Margarita's were very good. Tried the Vardha Out shooters and it was great as well. The food was excellent as well, must tries are the Bacon wrapped sausages and Fried Calamari.
The most exciting dish that we enjoyed was the Fish Almondine - a continental take on the amazing Vanjaram. (Lip-smacking)
Overall a great experience. The menu currently is a little short (still a wide variety of options available) than what's available on Zomato as they are still recovering from COVID as mentioned by the BOATS team. Looking forward for the whole menu!

Boats is a nice bar towards the end of Besant Nagar Beach. A very popular joint in this area, it's thronged by people even as early as 5 PM. The prices are slightly on the higher side and the bill would range to 2k with food and drinks together for two people. I'd recommend it though. The service, ambience and esp the sea view is excellent and recommended. Go for it
