Found this place on zomato and headed to it as soon as I could. The restaurant itself is cute but there is one particular part towards the back (near the stairs) that is a sight for sore eyes. I'm leaving this review late so hopefully it's already taken care of. Staff are super friendly and courteous. We asked one of the attendants to teach us how to use chopsticks and well, he did try but we decided to use forks. The food itself is good. The portions are big and relative to the price. The spicy ramen that I ordered however wasn't spicy enough. This is of course because Japanese food isn't very spicy but I was still disappointed a teeny bit. Will definitely go back for more ramen as there are at least a dozen or two varieties to try out.
Great restaurant for people to try out Japanese cuisine in Chennai. The menu is limited but every item is made to perfection. Lot of small decorative Japanese goodies can be found in the shop. You can buy souvenir chopsticks too 😀. I tried Miso ramen chilli and karaage. The karaage was too good to be true. Never had a fried chicken with such great seasoning. The Miso ramen was just yum but not spicy as advertised (Maybe spicy for Japanese 😅). Can't express how good the noodles were. You just have to try it!!
One place in Chennai to get Authentic Japanese Ramen . Bowls of Ramen was good and filling though pricey . The staff was polite and friendly. Kids will definitely love this joint as you can see the samurai robo figurines and books. You can also buy your own chop sticks and handfan for RS 150.
Ramen. ‘Nuff said.
Okay. Let me elaborate. A genuine Tori PaiTan, Cloudy Chicken Broth. It is the only genuinely tasty ramen broth I’ve eaten anywhere in India. Definitely better than Go Go Ramen in Chennai. Far better than anything else in Bangalore.
Unfortunately they don’t do a Tonkotsu broth or any pork at all. But that said, they do make excellent ramen noodles which perfectly grabs on to flavourful bits of broth as you’re slurping them down.
The place is really photogenic, has a bunch of books to read including a Japanese guide for Tamil Nadu which I happened to read while I waited for the dish to be served. The service is decent. The food isn't particularly appealing to me for obvious reasons, I'm a south Indian and I want spices and all kinds of flavours to hit me at once. But I can definitely see Japanese people eating here. One less star for the time they took to serve.
For an otaku this is the place to be.... I saw one piece manga as well as Shingenki no kyojin... Was epic and authentic... Food was amazing and sure as hell worth the price. I felt so happy... LISTEN THIS IS THE PLACE FOR GENUINE JAPANESE DISHES.. i love aki bay and i honestly hope u do too.... Best place for an otaku first date though....
Nice and small Cozy place for quick authentic Japanese food.. Thought the items on the menu are less and slightly on the pricey side... It's a must visit if you want authentic Japanese food like ramen and gyoza.. The ramen portion is quite big for one person so the price is quite justified
The best way to know JAPANESE Culture is to visit a JAPANESE restaurant, try authentic cuisines handcrafted by talented JAPANESE Chefs and serving food in a traditional JAPANESE style. Humility and a sence of giving Respect is a KEY to JAPANESE Culture...😋😇🍜🇯🇵🇮🇳
Jpop in the background, kanji boards all around, Japanese chef's and waiters give this place an authentic Japanese Raman shop feel and so does the food, their Raman with chicken broth was really good. They give you company and converse with you in Japanese if you are a Japanese wannabe. Worry not, if they chopsticks get too daunting the waiter immediately provides a fork.
Probably one the most authentic Japanese Ramen experiences you can find in Chennai. The restaurant itself is small, so finding a table in it on a weekend is going to be a challenge. But, the wait is worth it. The food was excellent. The portion size was also quite significant! Must visit!
