We polished off every dish that we ordered, I am glad my son did not lock the plates! Ambiance is not over the top,love the decor and service is just right and the corner and appears when needed and I like it that way.

So me and my dad were around Alwarpet when I wanted to try this place for dinner. There was ample parking and the ambience was good .
There was only 1 server when we went so there was a bit of a delay in the overall service.But to make up this delay we were served some papads with chilli and peanut shreds chutney, coconut and garam masala and ghee to have with it (I would rate this as the best as it was a unique combination to try ) . Everything on the menu is based on Marati cuisine and also predominantly based on Millets.
We had ordered Bhajanichi Vade which was deep fried Kachori like poori with no stuffing served with curd...it was good but I felt that it could have been served with a savoury chutney as well. We had ordered Thalipeeth (4 pieces per serving )which was filling and Pithla which was little bland though it was suggested by the waiter.
We tried to avail the Axis card discount but sadly that offer cannot be availed on weekends (which is not mentioned anywhere)
Overall a filling meal . Can go there for a non spicy but authentic experience :)
Simple place with great ambience n sitting arrangement, good service etiquettes right from greeting at the reception till leaving the place.
The food was amazing, there was a great authentic touch to the food, first we were served with ghee, peanut n garlic chutney with green chilli chutney along with fryums which was yum.
We had ordered kombidhichi sagoti with Poli which was mouth watering n really delicious. A coconut based gravy with right amout of spices making it aptly tasteful.
If you're in Chennai, it's a must go place.
Nice ambience, quaint and quiet. The latter may have been because we were the first people there on a weekday for lunch. Attentive, informed service from the waitstaff who clearly knew the entrees well and were able to help us decide on the food choices.
Food quality was good, though I found the Sabudana vada excessively chewy. The Bhaarli Vaangi was outstanding, though could have used a little less oil (but still outstanding). The Pithla was also very good - we packed it and took it home for us to continue enjoying it later.
Good experience. Will happily come back again.
Being a Maharashtrian was quite stunned to taste such subtle Maharashtrian food in Tamil Nadu. Liked the ambience, really quick service . Great place for fine dining with family. Private family space provided .
Awesome ambience and food..had a signature non veg thali..there was a chicken gravy,chicken dry, pulao, roti, raita,potato and then desserts..the background music, the attire of server, everything had a maharashtrian touch..really good experience
Superb! I never expected that I can get such authentic Maharashtrian food in Chennai. They also have Ethiopian and Parasi restaurants in the same complex.
I have never had maharashtrian cuisine before..!!! And my first experience was brilliant thanks to this place !!
There is not a single complaint about this place..!! Right from the ambience service and of course the delicious food .. everything was perfect !!

Good Food equals good mood which Meena Tai understands all very well. My first experience at the peshwa cusine and every bite was worth a try, the green chilli chutney, Kairi Phane, Kolhapuri Mutton and the chicken curry with jowar bhakri are a must try.
An authentic Maharashtrian cuisine serving restaurant in Chennai, perhaps the best one in the city. The Mutton thali and the chicken thali both are sumptuous and very tasty. The staff is courteous and explains the dishes very nicely and in a very good manner. The restaurant situated in Alwarpet is a conglomerate of 3 restaurants - An Ethiopian restaurant, a Parsi restaurant and Meena tai's the Maharashtrian restaurant. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone craving for Marathi style khana.
Authentic Maharashtrian food no doubt. I tried the veg executive thali and it was delicious! Only drawback was that the delicacies in the thali were way too less. People go for thali to explore and enjoy different varieties which was missing here. In dessert also there was just one option.
Good food, would not say it's authentic. Little pricey.

Very expensive. Doesn't create a welcome feeling for marathi food. Food quality good enough, service good, ambience also good. Pricing is the only factor which may be repellent factor. Or may be the management wants it that way only.

An interesting Marati restuaruant in the city. Ok , here we go. First, this place has wallet parting available. So my first resistance to drive to a hotel is fixed :-). Next it's in the mid of the city, so should be easily accessible. There are 3 restaurants in this complex and Meera Tai is on the ground floor. When you go inside, you will feel a typical marati resturant in the out skirts of Mumbai. Slow music, ancient paintings, antique pieces decorated on the wall, will reduce your heart beat and make the time run slower.
The food here is not something that you will love to eat when you are damn hungry (Unless you have a craze for Marati food). Else you will love to strike off that "I had Marati food once and it's nice".
I am an vegetarian, and i loved the choices here. For the first time the starters are not one of Paneer, Corn, Vegetables, and Cauliflower. We ordered an Yam dish that is roasted and well cooked with a mint sauce. It's delicious. And next is a sticky vada based on rice balls (Jowaraci in tamil) which is served with Yogurt sauce and is equally good. Lookout for different roti varieties and other gravies.
Maharashtrian food in Chennai. Was good. I can confirm, I am from Pune. So go ahead if you like Marathi cuisine.
