We ate full meals . Food was so yummy delicious. Paruppu podi,ghee, rice with gongura chutney combination was so tempting. For the first time we ate meals. we love the Andhra meals. Curd with sugar perfect lassi. The curd was so thick. Mor kulambu was so tasty with crunchy onions.
Situated in an old building on the busy Govindappa Naicken Street, this place undoubtedly has the best Andhra meals in Chennai. Purely vegetarian, the hospitality is really amazing and if you are a non-Telugu you are guaranteed of free advise on what to mix and how to eat certain items. Don't expect any fine dining experience

Price (150) is also ok but they charging 5 rupees for extra ghee and 10 for extra papad is not good already 150 is high price for veg but anyhow it's ok.

Having heard lot about this place, recently I visited The National Lodge on a summer afternoon for a lunch.
Food was tasty, no doubt about it; even the service.
But if you had spent your time in AP or Telangana and had Andhra meals there and if you expect something similar, you will be disappointed.
Except for the podi and tangy sambar, nothing fits into the Andhra meals category. Andhra meals isn’t complete without the thick curd or the vegetable veppudu - these are notable missing. They also overdo the podi (they smear multiple spoons of podi in the food)
Still though, the food is tasty. The day I dropped in, the sambar had masala vada in it. Kind of good; the thayir pachadi too was good. There was a dal curry, which tasted good, but again it’s not Andhra style.
Overall I will rate it as good lunch spot, even though it’s no way closer to Andhra meals - for which, for me, if it’s Chennai- it’s the New Andhra Meals Hotel at T Nagar.
If you want Andhra style food, then this is the right place to visit. Typical Andhra food with Avakkai pickle, podi and ghee. Yummy.

ATLAST THICK CURD WITH PICKLE WILL FINISH YOUR MEALS

Top class Andhra meals👌
Paruppu podi with ghee and red chutney gives a sort of unique flavor, it's spicy and tasty.
Service is extraordinary. The men there serve with great enthusiasm and smile. The presentation and service make us feel as if we have come to have meals in an Indian marriage.
The eating space was decently clean and tidy. Stairs are narrow. Expect a local mess experience rather than a restaurant one.
Very good service and support food is very testing and veter super service and mind-blowing 🥰🥰🥰🥰
