I dint find it hard to locate this place because I located it more than 20 years ago. And I’m happy that nothing has changed this place. This place will probably never tick the boxes for great ambiance, valet parking, healthy/ vegan etc. However Bismi is a legendary place for the most unique, authentic flavours. The barota, mutton chops and chicken/ kadai chukka is divine. I’ll have it for breakfast lunch dinner and repeat. I still don’t know what cuisine this food falls under but Bismi will always be the best aasaiva unnavagam I have ever known. ****** this place is not for the FAINT hearted with a fear for oil

Lazy day makes to get food for lunch from bismi.. Ghee rice with mutton chukka and Maneeral fry. Felt so much of oily but taste was fantastic. Mutton is soft and Maneeral is very fresh and the gravy style is very unique

Another nice place found on a walk through the lanes of Mannady. This was a surprise find for me although this place is probably known among those of the area. It's in one of the lanes known as Angappa Naiken street. I am not sure of the exact location will update later. So while strolling through, imagine my surprise when I caught a guy frying a big bunch of fat parottas on a huge cast iron Tawa! Of course I had to stop and try. :D

Have been wanting to go to this place on a Friday or Sunday, as on those days they serve Ghee Rice. But, unfortunately it's always been on a weekday, that I got an oppurtunity to go. Nevertheless, this place is worth the write-up as the food here is good and the flavours are purely rustic. A place that hasn't lost it's old world charm and the food I'm presuming is prepared in Keezhakarai Style. Totally worth going on any given day.

Ambience - oriented people should excuse, as it's truly a mess type place with minimal facilities.

This place serves Meals (₹90) which is unlimited and comes with 3 types of Non-Vegetarian Gravies (Mutton/Chicken/Fish), Sambhar, Rasam, Kootu, Poriyal. As soon as you get seated a huge Basin of white Rice appears on your table 😲😲 along with Poriyal and Kootu.

We ordered their Special Fish Gravy (₹90) (Coconut based - Paarai Fish + Drumstick). I must say, it was really good. I've had Gravies clubbed with other meats along with Vegetables (Prawns even) but never experimented with Fish. Trust me, it was worth it. The Kadugu Kozhi (₹150) or as they call it Special Chicken Gravy, was too good. The Gravy from Kadugu Kozhi and White Rice alone would do wonders for me.

Mutton Sukka (₹160) was a bit dry but yeah, the Fish Fry (₹150) was a Masterpiece. Very well made. Among other orders were Omelette (₹15) and Sunny Side-up (₹10). Curd (₹10) was charged extra.

A friend of mine took me to this place. We went from Nungambakkam to Broadway just to have for in this place. We had Nei Soru (Ghee Rice) for lunch with chicken curry which was divine. The taste of the rice was damn good. Ghee rice had lots of cashews in it and was served with a kurma and these two combinations cannot be substituted with any other. The chicken curry was also nice and had a unique taste. The waiters were well mannered. One big problem here is the parking, the road is too narrow and could accommodate only a single motorbike

This place isn't known for its ambience. But the food is so great that noone cares about the surroundings. Located right next to the mosque, this place works meat like no other. The masala they give with the rice is to die for, not to mention the mutton dishes they have.

The food is pretty oily; but you have to keep in mind that this place can't be an everyday affair, but one of those rare indulgences where you have some time to kill and crave succulent meat and authentic south Indian food.

Hotel Bismi , Mannady St This famous eatery is functioning more than a couple of decades and still didn't lose its charm. Located in the kurugal sandhu but still grabbing attention since ages. Exactly located to opp street of mannady mask ( will location below as well). . . This shop is much famous for parota saalna and non veg sides. Probably one of a bhai hotel which doesn't serve Biriynai but focuses mainly on parota and sides.. They too have nei soru but it will be available for selective days and mainly fot lunch. . . My Orders . . The menu is simple . They have a display plate which has all sides so you can choose whatever you want. . . Parota (15 INR) : Regular sized Parota served with nallennai la cook panna saalna 🤤 . Solla solla naku oorudhu moment. One of the best parota shops serves good salna ( piece um irukum). . . Chicken Kothu (200 INR) : well minced parota with loads of Chicken pieces ❤️. The curry leave flavors well infused with the dish. . . Mutta Veechu: Layered to the core with egg stuffing. Sized like a regular sized pizza tasted really good. Strictly should have this when served hot. . . Kaadai Masala : My all time favourite here. The masala here was the best. A spicy oily masala which will definitely go well with Parota as well as white rice ( if you prepare it as satti siru as well). . . Mutton Maneeral Fry : This was good as well. soft and no that pacha vasanai perfectly well cooked. masala here was a bit same as kadai masala. . . Chicken Chops: Had some two big pieces and tight packed masala tasted really good *** I could remember price of only few items as i lost the paper bill . Overall i paid 1560 ( Cash Only)*** Over all a must try spot for parota salna lovers. Need to try their nei soru soon Tharamana Sambhavam Thodarum 🤤🔥

Since I born and brought up in this same area I know this place for very long time, trust me the food here is very good compared to all other road side shops or kaiyendhi bhavan type of food centres. You may think price is little high for such shop but the taste and quality justifies it.
