This is quite a good place to try authentic South Indian dishes. This place is located at main road so easy to find and they have limited space for parking so will be difficult during peak hours or weekend. The ambiance is simple and Cozy and they have good seating. The staff is well trained and quite quick in taking orders and serve the same. The food specially nool parotta and Mutton Nalli is a good try. The Mutton biryani is quite good with quantity justifying the price. They were generous and not like some big shot franchise giving only rice in name of biryani and 2-3 left over bones.
This is quite a good place to try genuine South Indian spice filled food . Overall good to dine in with friends and family
Nool Parotta ❤️ and Crab Omelette 🔥
Will try their old fish gravy next time for sure 🫡
Food taste is good. But the biriyani is spicy service is bit bad due to holiday and festival season.
The place is economical and i personally loved the kottu parotta with chicken kozhambhu, biryani was ok ok. In egg biryani you will get Chicken shreds too so if you are strict eggiterian don't order egg biryani. Service is bit lagging i felt can be better.
Visited this place on the recommendation of a Chennai food blogger while in Chennai. Located at Parthasarathi Puram colony in T.Nagar area, this place serves authentic Thanjavur preparations. Also a great place to try out the meals specially non-veg options but prices seemed a bit on the higher side.
What we had ?
Nool Parantha with Nattikozhi Kuzhambhu
Mutton Biryani
Eral Dosai
Eral Varuval
Extreme Chicken
Vanjaram Fish Fry
Kothamalli Chicken
Mutton Brain
Mutton Liver
Chicken 65
Elaneer Payasam
Elaneer Pudding
I would definitely suggest to try the non veg meals. Along with that,' Vanjaram Fish Fry' , 'Eral Dosai', Extreme Chicken' ,'Nool Parantha with Nattikozhi Kuzhambhu' and ' Mutton Biryani' are a must try here. Didn't quite like the Kothamalli Chicken, was bland it seemed. The food was good but really pinched hard on our pockets 😬.The ambience is decent, service can be improved and staff seemed somewhat ignorant on the menu 🙃
My verdict :
Ambience and decor :4
Food :4
Value for money :3
Service :4
📍Thanjai Veeraswamy, T.Nagar.
Best spot for non veg lovers...
They have a unique flavour and i love the authenticity. Must try will be Extreme Chicken, Nool Paratha and In dessert don't miss Rose milk and tender coconut puding.
Loved the place. Dishes out some good local food. Their famous Nool Parotta is amazing though a little pricey but you wouldn’t mind after eating it. The fish fry we bought was delicious, the marination was spicy.
Our next favorite had to be Kothu parotta, too good with the chicken kolumbu which they gave on side.
The chicken starter was as good too.
Decent ambience, great service and food. Should be on your list
Thanjai veeraswamy has been on my list of places to visit for a very long time. I finally got a chance.
This is what I had on my visit:
Lollipop Chukka ₹230
Veerasamy Chicken Roast ₹265 🥰
Vanjaram Tawa Fry ₹295
Mutton Chukka ₹280
Nool Barotta with Naattu Kozhi Kuzhambu ₹180
Mutton Biriyani ₹320 😍😍
Loved the Mutton Biryani made from Seeraga Samba it was something that would compete with the best. Kudos to Chef.
My vegetarian wife would especially like to thank you for the vegetarian salna that you provided with the nool parotta. I believe this is the only location in Chennai that does this.

One of the best non veg sapadu place!!!
Will go back often.
Wide varieties of Non-veg dishes includes sea food. But have limited vegetarian dishes. Nool parotta and Non-Veg meals(any) recommended. Briyani is in South Tamilnadu style. Ice Elaneer payasam is must try at last. Ambience is good. Price is as expected like similar restaurants but taste was really worth it.
Went here with friends, they serve authentic Thanjavur food but price is little on the higher side.
There Nool parotta was awesome, briyani had different taste and mutton in the briyani was well cooked but quantity of mutton was very less for the price they serve, Thanjai vanjaram fry was too good, they serve both veg and non veg meals on higher price. There food feels dump in stomach for long time.
