Being an ardent Biryani Lover, it was obvious that I had to visit all the famous haunts in Coimbatore. Kovai Biryani Hotel was recommended to me by a bunch of people and I headed for lunch here with my folks.
Please don't expect a fancy ambience. Food is all that matters in a place like this one. The service is prompt. We sat in the AC section of the restaurant which has more of a family crowd.
We ordered for Mutton Biryani as their Chicken Biryani wasn't ready (bummer). We also tried their Chilly Chicken and Pepper Chicken. I preferred the former over the latter.
The rice was served piping hot and it tasted delicious. A decent portion that would suffice for one person. I was actually shocked that I finished it (considering I have a small appetite). Or maybe I had worked up an appetite for it.
So, should you be visiting this place?
The answer would be a resounding yes!

Well this was a walk in on a hot afternoon. We walked out of Brookfield just to find some better food outside the Mall. Found something in bright orange and we walked in. We ordered for a Mutton Biryani, Chicken Biryani, Fresh lime soda and omelette. The taste and the flavor of the rice was beyond tasty. Really well cooked meat and rice. Not a lot of oil but the flavors of ghee was also pretty prominent.
However, The service needs to improve. Not that it was bad, but, it was slow and lethargic.

It's an old hotel we always use to go there and have soup and biryani when we are sick, after had we feel so full and sleepy and immediate next day all the cold fever gone it's a good food like home feel
Tried chicken and mutton briyani here. Mutton briyani is good, and the price is reasonable.
One of the best places for Biriyani in Coimbatore. The biriyani is not very spicy unlike most other places. They don't seem to add excess ground spices which makes it taste better and not too strong, unlike other restaurants which add a lot of ground spices to enhance the smell but sometimes causes heartburns.
They also make a unique deep fried chicken (which they've named as Manjura chicken). Anyone who is used to eating Biriyani with Grill or Tandoori chicken (which is now available almost everywhere), should give this a try.
Food, service everything is perfect. Must try.

It's a typical biriyani hotel where the food is lip smacking good.. the service is fast and courteous... The taste of the chicken biriyani was different from the usual taste that i have come across other more famous biriyani joints in kovai it was more flavourfull and less spicy... The veechu porotta was superb and the gravy along with that was superb.. the pallipalayam chiken was kind of OK.. nice place if u need a hearty meal at a modest price with good service...
Now this hotel biriyani is very spicy, previously it was nice
Unique taste and the best part is that the Briyani will have ample amount of Garlic in it. A treat for garlic lovers.

Atmosphere was not good. Food was above average. But cheap accordingly.
