First gear cafe is according to other cafes, very different, well organized and having beautiful scenes. .The food is amazing here. .music of your choice... .Staff is very friendly and humble. I especially loved n enjoyed it when I went here.

First Gear Café offers an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Surrounded by lush greenery and offering stunning panoramic views of the hills. Food is commendable but the service at this café is mediocre. The staff is attentive but they lack some friendliness.

Nestled on the scenic Mussoorie Road in Dehradun, First Gear Cafe is a hidden gem that will surely captivate your taste buds and provide a delightful culinary experience. Considering the quality of food, the pleasant ambiance, and the level of service provided, I found First Gear Cafe to be reasonably priced. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring that guests left the cafe feeling satisfied. The overall value for money was excellent, and I would gladly return to indulge in more of their culinary delights.

The views are amazing and also the location of this cafe is incredible and food is lovable and delicious. If anyone wants to eat some good food come here.

My all time fav place for Paneer Sandwich and coffee. Great Panoramic view of whole city, shiv Mandir and Rajpur. Personally, paneer sandwich & coffee is my go to food and I find best at First Gear Cafe. Come here right after a rain shower and you will fall in love with Dehradun - all over again. Keep in mind - if you are not confident about taking your vehicle up to cafe, park it on the roadside and climb up hill by foot. I always find 3-4 people rolling down the road with their vehicles every time I visit.

I like the location , the view is amazing , I tried their 3 cold beverages 1: 1st gear bemisal ( guava based ) 2: 1st gear punch ( cole with crushed ginger and lemon ) 3: Oreo shake and I loved all of them . I had their chicken burger it’s was ok. I stayed and worked here for 3-4 hours and love it , great view and staff is good

Going there since 2016 and I must say every visit is worth. Located at a little height from main road , the views from this cafe of doon valley and shiv mandir is mesmerizing. Food on the other hand is good enough to satisfy your taste buds. Tried pastas, sandwiches, momos, mocktails, pizzas everything is good. Evenings are the best time to visit.

This cafe is located at an amazing location giving you a chance to have a beautiful view of mountains while enjoying your meal. Name of the property is justified as you have to take a steep road in which your car will demand you to put it in first gear. Food was tasty. Honestly, I was not happy with the cold coffee, they can work on it but apart from that everything was amazing.Noodles were yummy. Parking space is good. One of the best cafe on Mussorie road. It is about 1 km from the Shiv Temple. This restaurant is good for couples and groups. Best place for birthday celebration. Food is so tasty and good. Service is fast but staff is too slow. Momos were great. This place have also good view.

Name totally justifies this fantastic Cafe. The cafe is situated on the hill top with a very steap passage, is you are driving the car, you can only take the car up by putting the Car in 1st Gear. And ordered there speciality i.e. Honey chilli potato, and first gear bemisaal to drink. Chicken cheese burger was my choice. And i loved the Food, Quantity and Price. Ambience wasn't that great but valley of mussourie added more value to the ambience. A must visit place to eat with friends and family. Go there around 5 pm in the evening so that you can enjoy sunset and the night light of Dehradun from above. 😍❤️

It's alright if you're looking to get a bite while on the road with friends. The view and the location in and itself is great. But that's where the good news ends... You won't be able to find a decent parking area. No facility to wash your sweat away and freshen up or clean your greasy fingers after the meal. Food quality is just ok. Non vegetarians usually complain about uncooked meat. The food doesn't do justice to the high price margin. All in all it's ok for a snack time stop and that's it.

Located on near Malsi Dear Park, Mussorrie Road this is the newest addition to the doon. It is named as First Gear Cafe since if you are taking your car you will have to put it in 1st Gear since this cafe is located on height.<br/>This place is good since you can enjoy amazing food with the view. Place looks amazing especially during monsoon and winters.

Worst honey chilly potato that can be found on planet, they have taken out stale frozen French fries, stirred it in red sauce for less than 2 min and served it, on top of that chicken momo were stripped of chicken, the owner might be thinking that anything in the name of food will do cause he has got a good location, but the end of a wonderful cafe seems near. Heavily disappointed.

This place used to serve quality food, but in recent times seen a huge deteoriation in food quality and ambience, honey chilly potato served was horrible, it was stale, frozen French fries that too old just fried in sauce and served, this place also had a good taste of music but now only mainstream punjabi music is only played ... sad to see the place fall from sky to bottom.

I have lived in both Delhi NCR and Dehradun and I have lost count of the places where I have tried honey chilli potato as it's my fav dish. However, hands-down this place will ALWAYS be my go-to place for honey chilli. Although on my recent visit, I noticed that the honey chilli were tooo dry as if it's been overcooked. There was no sauce/gravy. 4 stars cuz the quantity can be increased as per the price and could get a little creamier.<br/>The ambience outdoors is very pretty. The lush green view feels so soothing.

This place has a very beautiful scenic view if you love to have your food at a beautiful place then it is a must. I also liked the food mainly chicken lollipop and chocolate shake. I would recommend to go there if you want to spend a quality time in beautiful mountains.

Tandoori Momos accompanied by tangy mint chutney and the usual red chilli chutney were perfectly done.. This cafe has one of the tastiest foods I've eaten at a cafe in Dehradun lately. The interior designing isn't magical but the ambience surely is because of the great view from the cafe. The quantity of the food is great. 2 people couldn't finish a plate of momos and a Pizza after a shared glass of cold coffee and so we had to get it packed, and, BTW, the momos here have the largest size I've seen in my entire life, for real!! Not even exaggerating!! The Pizza was the cheesiest ever with a lot of veggies and I actually thought it was better than the million options we get at Domino's with the price literally cut by half.

A perfect place for spending some quality time with your loved ones. Nice, cozy and closer to nature place. Food is also really good and well priced. Service was on the day was bit late but it is okay now. It would be really great if they can maintain the place and eating area a little bit and arrange the things properly..🙂

Herd a lot about this Cafe so decided to visit with few of my friends. The cafes location is amazing the view is also smoothening and calm full marks for that we ordered the following:-<br/>Maggie was good, Oreo shake was ok ok...I have had better, white sauce pasta was delicious, chicken pizza was not that good for a pizza it was really dry with a few chicken chunks could improve on the quality.<br/>The service was average considering it was packed with ppl our order took a lot of time we had to constantly remind the staff about it..thanks

Good place for hangout. Food is good.. Especially honey chilly patato..must try dish. Service should need to be improved very much otherwise overall environment is nice. Don't try to reach there with activa..you need a gear vehicle. If you driving a car..you should to be very careful because off road path have a slope of 60 degree.

This outlet located in good place with nice view, Secondly food quality is superb. I love Crispy Spring roll, Chilly Chicken and Chicken Sweet Corn Soup from this outlet.<br/><br/>You also must try once from this outlet.

The view is breathtaking.<br/>Its on the way to Mussoorie so use your own vehicle. The food was also nice, however improvements can be made.<br/>We ordered hot chocolate on d rock which was delicious, omelette was also very tasty but the white sauce pasta was okayish. This cafe is situated on the way to massurie and had a nice location . Allthough food here is not so good . I can say it is an over rated cafe . I have had momos , chilly chicken sandwiches over here but taste was not up to the mark .

Well, firstly they have better view site than food. I had order their restaurant's special pizza,smoothie, burger and momo. Pizza crust was thick toppings was not really good overall not satisfying. And burger was also waste of money. No taste just felt like i am chewing plane bunn with small alloo tikki. NOW SOME really food were their momo! MOMO was rally a GEM of this restaurant. Too tasty and smoothies were tasty as well. After having pizza and burger, MOMO and smoothie made me relax n calm because food taste equal to our mood taste. So I would say go have meal their enjoy beautiful views and have something which is not continental. Try north Indian n chicken.

Heard a lot buzz about this place..ambiance,decor, view remarkable...when it comes to food..it’s not upto the mark ...we ordered regular coffee...had a different smell ...ordered hakka noodles...which was soggy and oily...overall taste 3/10...ambiance 8/10..service 6/10...value for money 5/10.

Probably its one of the best place to hangout in doon. Its view is awesome and its food too. I have visited this place a couple of time and my most favourite dishes from the menu are cold coffee with icecream, chilly potato and chicken lollipop .. This time i tried the pizza and veg cheese grilled sandwiches and cappuccino they were equally good and tasty.Also you can enjy the view of the doon as this place is on the hilltop. Its pocket friendly and the qulaity of food that it provides is worth the money.

A hill top cafe with one of the best scenic view. You can enjoy your coffee with mountains. Calm and peaceful good for couple. Ambience is good and nature adds more to it. Cappuccino taste gud and we had noodles it was good too. A good quantity and quality food at reasonable price. Have a visit and you will love it.

The view of the valley is straight out of a Ruskin Bond poem. Perhaps a bowl of soup and a plate full of dimsums is the ideal order. The greens of the valley after the monsoon showers offer vistas that are second to none. This is not a place for fine dining!

Initially it was a great place for hang out with gud ambience. Over the years view is still gud but restaurant has drastically resduced the quality,quantity and service. One can easily feel the difference what it was before. In pic u can see cheese maggie was ordered,bowl was served without plate, spoon and forks were dirty and was dipped inside bowl before serving. This place is located in the middle of Mussoorie and indeed this is one of the best place I have visited in Mussoorie ..the vibes is so real. This place has both indoor and out door sitting. First gear cafe is true to its name you need to apply first gear in your bike in order to go up from the main road, situated in Malsi on the way to Mussoorie from Dehradun. The cafe set at the mountain top is one of the best city view places with highly qualified chefs and everhelpful staff. Nevertheless, the shortage of space leads to long ques and thus, making it a secondary option. Food and music ranging from western to Bollywood just arouses your mind and hearts to new levels. Special first gear cafe Maggie, it’s really amazing. The most exotic part is their killer view. They are really doing well in that area. Just they have to manage couples of things like a bit hygienic/clean space.

Don’t visit the place if you want to have good food the food was pathetic. It was pathetic to a level that everything was just tasted and rest was left. If you really want to enjoy the weather with a lot of bad food options do visit. The management doesn’t even concern to answer if the food isn’t right. Theay were instead argumental and not at all responsible

Worst experience ever. I forced my 5 friends to visit this cafe and the food served to us was pathetic. The pizza was just tasteless and dry with almost no cheese. The red pasta was so disappointing that we left half of it and it's sauce tasted like ketchup . Never coming back , also the owner was so adamant and over proud about his food that he didn't even considered our complaints.

Have eaten burger , fries , momos , chilly chicken , chicken grilled sandwiches and honey chilly potatoes . The chilly chicken was good , momos very good aswell , burger was not at all good , sandwiches didn't tasted well . <br/>Overall an okay place .

Headed out for an adventurous food excursion so landed this place on a rainy drive and bite ...tea , Momo's and cheese sandwich.<br/>View and tea was good ...<br/>Sandwich can use a little less mayo and more cheese .....a bit soggy on the inside.<br/>Momo's were standard nothing to point out there so it was more of an adventurous food jounrney where you keep your expectations low but still the feeling was happy .<br/>

Well this cafe is my all time favourite and they serve really great shakes. Food is fine and you'll be definitely engrossed in the beauty of its location. Try it out!

As i have business so i do outing very less and try to go for change to nearer places i heard mussorie is nice small hill station so i went there,as i was not much aware so per per my friends recommendation i went to first gear cafe, and i found the place nice pleasant and having comfortable atmosphere, i ordered sandwich/then there special first gear punch, then i had chill chicken and i my wife chilly potato, quite good in taste and worth of money.the best is their ambience.One should must visit.

I used to visit this place many times and loved the location with a scenic view, try outdoor seatings if you visit there. Red sauce pasta, honey chilli potatoes and chocolate shake is a must try. Red sauce pasta is delicious as compare to other cafe's. You can enjoy the view of doon valley while eating.

The name first gear comes from the fact that you need to be in it to drive your vehicle up the slope. Sadly ours slipped down back. The first thing you observe about this place is the breathtaking view. Make sure you choose the balcony seating. Now coming to the food, we ordered a chicken kotai, burger and their special drink made of coke, ginger and lemon. The kothai was really well made, loved. The drink turned out to be good, discovered a new combination. The service is slow, but everything was well under budget.<br/>

A five star rating because of the helpful staff... Food was good... But drinks were the best... A peaceful ambience... If u r seating in the outdoor area u can view shiv temple from there... You can see an amazing senic view with the very popular shiv temple.<br/>As far as the food is concerned, it was very good, could not find a false note in any of the things we ordered and offcourse the view contributed to the taste of th food.<br/>We had<br/>1. 1st gear fruit punch : What a cooler! Very unique, every sip gave an essence of ginger. RECOMMENDED!<br/>2. Peach Ice Tea : Simple and effective<br/>3. Kothey momos : These are the stemmed momos roasted just a little with butter. The roasting made it a mix and match of crunchy and soft. If you ever visit this cafe you must try these.<br/>RECOMMENDED<br/>4. Mix Sauce Pasta : Amazing quality and quantity wise.<br/>Really liked the sauce in which it was prepared<br/>5. Egg Chowmein : Awesome in taste. Liked it very much<br/><br/>Stick to the location, its a little on the off road so if you miss the turn it would be very difficult for you to backtrack as the road is very narrow.<br/>Instead of siting inside, sit outside as it brings out the true essence of the restaurant.

Went there for breakfast with family. We reached at around 10am when it was still closed and seeing us they opened the cafe.......as the name says the car only go there in first gear as the road leading to it is steep for 200 m. We sat outside with lovely views. We ordered<br/>Chocolate shake: 4/5<br/>Cold coffee: loved it 5/5<br/>Cheese omelette with toast:3/5, was fine but missing the zing<br/>Veg burger and chicken burger: 4/5. Nicely cooked with crisp base and nice patty.<br/>Alu paratha:4/5 we ordered twice and second time we thought that it had the maggi magic masala in it.<br/><br/>All in all a nice cafe with good views.

The view from the cafe is to die for. It is situated at Hill edge and place is wonderful. It has both indoor and outdoor settings. This is a good place to eat out and enjoy the hill view and fresh air.

Worst restraunt i ever visited. No one intrested in serving, Shout bhaiya bhaiya 10 times then they will listen. Kitchen is too dirty, It may give you some disease. Manager is too arrogant to listen if you complain, He simply say "aage se mat ana".

It's a great place to hang out with your friends in Dehradun. Situated at the foothills of mussouri, the has a fantabulous view of the entire city. It has outdoor seating. The food is delicious but a bit expensive too!

2 is for the food which was good and priced reasonably and also for the amazing view. But the service was not good. Had ordered chilli potato, noodles, Manchurian and chocolate shake but the shake didn't come on time. Had to remind them 4 times to get our shakes. Also avoid going on weekends as it's jam packed. Had to wait 15 minutes for a table. The path to the cafe is a steep slope so I would advice you to park your scooty by the main road. The service was not good as mentioned above. The shakes didn't come in time for us to enjoy with the food. It came in the end after reminding them 4 times. And then they added extra no. of shakes to our bill!
