Food was really good and most of the dishes they have are pahadi dishes. It's difficult to find pahadi dishes but here you can find it easily.
Been here a lot of times and my each visit is worth it.
Food quality is good and it tastes good too.
Ambience is also a plus point.
Service is nice.

They do not have 256 dishes. They have a few and prepare them very well!

Wow...i visited Kaafal restaurant last evening and it was a great evening with food & service, surrounding by greenery and totally silent place what I like most. Traditional uttarkhandi food loved it. Special jhangora ki kheer it was yummy.

Till date the best restaurant I have visited in Dehradun in terms of taste and service.Ambience is a bit of an improvement point for those customers who prefer lively and happening kind of environment but for me it was perfect coz its peaceful. Food taste is amazing, smooth yet full of flavors. Pahadi menu is awesome. If you dont like the ambience then order it.
This place is in the outskirts of the town (8 kms). The ambience is nice, well lit, decorated with traditional figurines. The seats are really comfy.
So as we entered we were warmly greeted by the staff. They provided us the menu but we could not find any traditional thali (read Uttarakhandi food). As we enquired them, they gave us a different menu which had all the traditional dishes. They said that as people don't prefer eating the traditional food here, so we didn't give you the menu.
We ordered the non veg Uttarakhandi thali (350 each + GST), and when it was served, we thought to ourselves why so less on the plate. It was at the end that we came to know that all these were more than enough.
I have posted a video of all the items, and we were also served a juice which is extracted from a flower in the mountains. And all these were amazing.
I suggest everyone who has a taste buds for these kinda food adventure, do try this restaurant. It is just beside the IT park entrance.

Nice ambience. Seating for 30-50 people. Nice crew and food is really awesome. Earlier it was known as tehra gaon but now its totaly changed to kafal. Menu has some decent variety and quiet affordable too. Located near him jyoti school(sahastradhara). Must visit.
I have visited Kafal 4 times in the last 6 months. Each time the experience has been excellent. Simple , quiet, spacious restaurant with courteous, extremely efficient and quick staff and food which was fresh, flavoursome as well as wholesome.
Appreciative menu with wide choices.
Highly recommended: Pahari Thali, Pahari mutton curry with rice, madwa roti, Pahari chicken masala. Vegetarian dishes also come in empteen choices. Gulp them down with some cool Buransh juice.
My last visit in march was an impromptu visit along with 40 guests. We got served fresh, steaming hot food within 30 minutes. Must appreciate the promptness and warmth with which the food was served. Value for money 9/10. Highly recommended for all who visit Dehradun.
Wonderful eating place with exotic pahadi food. One can try variety of local cuisine, be it saag, jangore ki kheer, mandwe ki roti or chutney. Must visit.
