Review Makhanbhog - Guwahati

Sukhjeet Arora
Wonderful Food experience!! Not so good parking experience! There is no dedicated parking for the restaurant. You have to park it on the main road and walk to the restaurant. Food is phenomenal! I had ordered 5 items.. all items paneer tikka, raj kachori, spring roll, pav bhaji, tasted yumm! But lassi was very disappointing.. Sweets on the ground floor were of very good quality! You better purchase the sweets as soon as you enter the restaurant else it might get finished by the time you have your food.

Located nicely. Sweets taste and quality is good. Staff behavior is also good. Sweets are bit costly, the owner should work for minimising the cost without compromising the qualityof the product. Ambiance is good. Limited parking space also available. Overall experience is good

The food was really tasty. The starts aare yummy. The service is fast...which is great. We were halfway through our family dinner and needed an extra dish as accompaniment with dal, which was served in no time. Really appreciable 👏 The ambience is good and clean. The staff are very friendly. A variety of. Sweets , snacks and gift hampers are also available here on the ground floor. The restaurant is on the first' floor. Overall a great place to visit with family and friends

This place is awesome for all vegetarians. All the dishes here are of mostly good quality. The dosas served here are one of the best and are a must try !!. The chilly garlic noodles are also absolutely mouth watering. The pastas are good ,just the quantity needs to increase a bit .

Had been to guwahati for a weekend trip and wanted to eat some good vegetarian food with friends and family so ended up at this place. I must say this place was very good with food. The food looked good, tasted good. But the ambiance wasn't like a restaurant. It was more of a sweet shop dining area. So if you are looking for good ambiance then this isn't the place you should visit. But if you are looking for good vegetarian food then I give a thumbs up and must say that this place will satisfy you with it's food.

One of my best place to have "Masala Dosa". The test is very unique along with other sweet and backery item. Staffs are polite and friendly. Overall value for money.

Have a few fond memories of good food at Makhan Bhog. Dishes are normal and taste is also normal but something is truly different here. Perhaps it is the normalcy which I like the most. Other restaurants put a lot of cream and other stuffs in their dishes to make it look and taste rich and different but this restaurant never do so and still it attracts a good number of families who visit here regularly to enjoy their feast.
Rajesh Narayanan
Good place , food tastes good. You will get good veg food. Only bad thing is wash room and hand wash are in same place. Could have a separate hand wash. Over all tasty food
Arindam Dutta
I must say this is a wonderful place to have delicious foods. Tried the Chilli garlic noodles & coffee along with sweets. It was damn too tasty. The ambiance is really good, and its very hygienic. You would not repent after visiting this place. Soothing music plays continuously, staff response is very good. Overall a very good and must visit place.

Good place to eat North and South Indian foods. Neat and clean atmosphere attracts more crowd. Attitude of service people's are not good which will reduce the brand name. Its time to correct it by their management.
Gautami Devi Choudhury
The quantity of the food is very less ...what is I plate seems to be half plate .. really very dissatisfied...they always do this ... will have to think twice next before ordering.. perhaps won't orders ..since they do this very frequently
Makhan Bhog is a great place for Sweet and cake lovers. One can find nearly about 120 varieties of sweets and hand made chocolates there. The place is very hygienic and the sweets are also fresh and made in a very hygienic way.

We just decided to drop in at Makhan Bhog for breakfast,
We ordered poori sabji and Veg parata. Food is nice and delicious. Just prepared. Price also reasonable. They have many options but since early we prefer our own choice. Have a try, you will love it.

Makhan bhog serves the delicious dosa and cheese macroni. Last time i order cheese macaroni and masala dosa from makhan bhog through zomato. The masala dosa was perfect though the cheese macroni was not like i expected. The creamy texture of cheese was not there and the quantity was a bit less. But as a whole it was good.

My go to place for all my sweet tooth cravings. Be is a chenna mithai to rasgulla, makhan bhog serves the best sweets in town.
The variety and quality of snacks they have is amazing. I am a fan of the pista biscuit there.

Coming to the dine in experience, Makhan Bhog serves one of the best dosas in guwahati. The quantity is good and all the items are a value for money. The roesti is a must try whenever you visit.
Shipra Bajpai
This place is one of my favorite amongst pure veg restaurants. Being one of the oldest customer here, I'm amost satisfied all time, sonetimes there's neglection and delays but its alright and that is my reason of giving a 4 ⭐.
Overall, food 4/5, desserts 5/5, ambience great for family outing and celebration❤
Nizamul Bhuyan
I have tasted some of the best samosas in Guwahati from Makhon bhog. They make their own bhujias which are really tasty and fresh as well. Only downside is their painfully slow service

Visited this restaurant on 22.10.2019.
Pros:
1) tandoori roti and missi roti was good
2) Paneer was nice

Cons:
1) Lot of time taken for service
2) Starter was very average( baby corn fry)
3) Rude behaviour by staff

Being guests in the city and hosted by a relative, we were pleasantly satisfied after a round of breakfast this morning. We hogged on South Indian like never before.

Uttapam, rawa dosa, idlis - each better than the other but still I don’t understand why Zomato doesn’t refer to it as South Indian along with the other cuisine offerings on its profile

Sangeeta S
I told them to make the cheese macaroniwithout onion garlic and it was tasty. Too tasty. Sweets were awesome, gulab jamun, cakes, and other sweets.

This is my go to place for veg food.. the best part is that it is multi cuisine and each and every thing is equally delicious... overall very good👍👍
EPIC_FOODIE
The best place for SWEETS and lip smacking snacks...... Their Ras Malai varieties and jalebies just touch your soul when you are craving for it.
At a pocket friendly rate . But the snacks and meals were a little bit high Price.

Best place in guwahati for authentic grandmother ke hath ka taste wala indian sweets. do try their roasti. Stunningly good. Their Dosa is definitely worth a shot.

Best sweets. Good seating space and parking arrangements. centrally located. n the food. literally good enough to make your mouth water. Best veg place in Guwahati and I think they have won awards also for the same

To start,, O I loved the Potato Rosti.. U have to tell me how u make it so yum.. the crispy chilly Babycorn getters of Guwahati... the sweets are fresh and yum.. the best part is the owner customises what you want and understands the client well.. 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 Keep up..
Smita Nandy
The food is average and the service is really bad downstairs. I was expecting a lot from this place coz of the fancy ambience but it was not that great.

This place is a gem. Sweets, pastries, bakery everything is so tasty. Varieties of sweets are available. It also has a restaurant having veg food items like chat, dosa and all. And their Chocolate Paan is a must try👍

To be honest i have always been an admirer of makhan bhog since a long time..i love their dosa n i see people frequently order dosa only whenever they visit d outlet..i went there few days ago the menu was dirty as it consisted food's remaining in between.ok that is a silly thing.but another thing i have noticed they have increased the price substantially for dosa and dosa has become thinner..i m highly disappointed to have such dosa.it was that thin that whenever i rolled the dosa it sounded lyk paper rolling.it was a paper dosa indeed..peehaps the consostency of d batter was not enough when it was prepared.sorry to state this.hope u do some imptovements

nice prompt but should carry change for 2000 rs always as their are senior citizens, pregnent women and such others who at time cannot run for change here and there..

This famous sweet shop in Guwahati with Beautiful Ambience, where I visited very lately. So talking about their sweets and bakery stuffs that were awesome like always 😍We ordered Plain dhokla, Cheese Roll, from sweets we bought Gulab Jamun ( favourites) & Sweet Balu Cha🧡. The interiors are done very beautifully too well maintained 🧡 #eyecatchy

Been there a few times more of a family friendly place than a hangout place, a mid range restaurant, just the staff needs to be polite becuase they act damn care even though you ask for service, but food is good, they have a sweet shop on the ground floor in case you need some.
Jnanesh Deka
I have been there before a lot of times but to review the place it was my first time. I reached after the breakfast session was over. I went upstairs fir a dine in experience. The ambience was perfect as long as a sweets restaurant is considered. As i sat, the waiter immediately came and gave us the menu. On asking about the Radha ballavi which is one of my favorites from this restaurant, they said the time was up for the item. I then ordered Chole Bhature and a cup of tea. I asked them about sweets they said if i order gulab jamun here it will cost around 25/piece and if i go downstairs and make a payment there it will cost me around 13 rupees. So i went downstairs and bought some sweets to make my day sweeter. The chole bhature and chai took around half an hour to come to my table because of Uber eats delivery orders which i didnt like. Also if you order Radha ballavi by uber eats at the time i ordered the same, then it is available which was refused on my query. The Tea was perfect but it was wid a lot of milk or milk water i dont know which made the tea whitish in color. The chole was really not delicious as far as the cost is considered. This restaurant got a mixed review from my side. However breakfast hours are pretty good though!!
Gaurav Paul
This place is one of the best places in Guwahati which serves delicious North Indian cuisine and its interiors are a delight to one's eyes. I personally felt that the prices are a tad on the higher edge but an awesome hack to it is Uber Eats. I often order Radhaballavi from this store as it is one of the best in town.
Astha Saikia (FoodLust)
Not all items in their menu is worth the money. But the pictures listed below sure is. The quantity of food is more than enough. The Shahi Paneer was an absolute delight with the right amount of spices, sweeter in taste and tender pieces. My mom barely eats outside and she was more than satisfied by the quality of food they provided. I've always chosen Veg Hakka Noddles and Veg Manchurian whenever I visit Makhan Bhog not only for the taste but because it serves two people at the price of one and I'm not even kidding.
The ambience is a huge one with a simple and decent sitting arrangement upstairs but I definitely feel they can work on the decoration part and utilise their decorative creativity to make the place look attractive. Also, do not hesitate to try their sweets. The gulab jamun they serve can make a wonderful desert.
And I wholeheartedly recommended this place to everyone.
Pooja Mordani
Great place for North Indian, South Indian and Snacks. Prices are reasonable and food is tasty. They have sweets and takeaway snacks too. Can enjoy a good meal with family and friends.
Shivani Goyal
I will surely recommend this place to the vegetarians and the sweet lovers. Try the Dosa, it’s really good. This place doesn’t disappoint! Also it is huge to have a party or a family dinner. You can get boxes of sweets customized for festivals and this restaurant offers food at very reasonable prices. Must try!
ZEZE BELL
One of the places I go when its my veg eating day. One of my favourite veg restaurant. I think I have tried almost all the paneer dishes. And the malai kofta. I love the malai kofta. And the dal makhani. The make it sooo authentic. Its a great place to try veg Indian food. And love the dosa toooo!!!! And there chinese veg food are delicious toooo!!!! A perfect veg restaurant. But i mostly go for the Indian part!!! Just love it!!!
Chhavi Agarwal
New addition to the menu- I am pretty impressed of the fact that they have come up with new items on the menu and trust me the taste is to die for.. I have by far had their baked Mexican rice & ravioli ( added picture below) and I am going gaga over it. Definitely a thumbs up from my side !!
Sulaxmi Borah
One of the best place where u can get north , south Indian & Chinese food along with varieties of sweets available here. Good taste and reasonable price. It's a good place for sweet lovers.
Apeksha Saikia
I have been here many times and each time I visit I opt for their North Indian cuisines mostly. I tried out the Chinese platter here which was not very satisfactory.
When it comes to North Indian, I would recommend you to try the Shahi Paneer which comes with a rich white gravy and dry fruits in it (quite an affordable rate of just Rs 225) with either plain or garlic naan (I bet you'll love their soft dough).
For starters you can go for the Jafrani kababs (made with paneer and stuffed with a whole lot of nuts) or you can go for either the malai or simple paneer tikka (I love both).
I also love their dosas (masala, paneer and cheese ones specially).
They have got take away counters with a rich display of sweets, cookies, namkeens and stuffs. And most importantly a parking area too. You'll love the ambience and the friendly staff.
Priyal Poddar
The best restaurant for dining, and it's my favourite too because of the delicious Malai kofta and Amristari Paneer, and kulcha
Whenever my mood is off, my hubby bring this dinner for me to bring a smile to my face as he knows this food is my weakness :)
Dimple Pareek
This place is firstly very pocket friendly. The prices are reasonable. We had Masala Dosa which was quite good but the quantity of the filling inside needs to be improved. We also had pasta which was delicious. Also we had a veg thali. The quality of the thali needs to be highly improved.
Service-3/5
Taste-3/5
Ambience-3/5

Items are very tasty here and the prices are affordable too...
One of the best place for all the vegetarians out there😍. I ordered dahi vada nd it was one of the best dahi vada i ever had. Loved it❤

Having worked at Pushpak Holidays which is right next to Makhan Bhog, I have visited this place a zillion times. I am a huge fan of their Dhoklas. They serve really amazing vegetarian food. Their fast food corner is mouth watering. And sweets, yummily delicious.
Dipannita Chakraborty
Visited the place couple of times and it has always amazed me!!!!
Loved everything about the food sweets and place!!!

Best was cheese dosa and the kulcha and malai kofta 😍
Divya Swami
Worst ever experience ! The service was not good and to add on that there was a hair in the food! On complaining about it, the staff just changed the food. I would never visit this place. Not recommended
Foodie In My Tummy
This is one of my favorite vegetarian restaurants till date. The place is really beautiful, its 2 floored where the 1st floor holds the bakery and the sweet joint and the 2nd floor is where you can sit comfortably and have a good meal. i just love everything they serve from their Dosas to their chinese combo meals (you should sure try it). And on top of that the price is quite reasonable, so you can enjoy different delicacies without burning a hole in your wallet. The ambience is really good so do the service... the interior is beautiful.. i love it .

Items are very tasty and affordable for all. Crispy corn is very tasty 😋 I like it . All the variety’s are available there. Any occasion varieties of items you can buy very easily. Sweet and snacks both are very value for money .
Navya Sri Choppa
The ordinary sweet shop with some snacks to offer.Tried the penne arrabiata , ravva dosa and chilli garlic noodles...all of them tasted standardly good ....yet some satisfaction is missing....All in all can give it a try !!
Dipshikha Thakuria
Nice place for lunch and dinner...... Food is awesome...... But it takes time to cook..... Awesome place with variety of options at low prices and also there is a place for sweets........
Shashangka Puja
One of the bad restaurants in Guwahati. it is running by their legacy only. The restaurant is always full of smoke, no proper exhaust. There is not even any dedicated wash basin for customers. You have to enter their stinking Washroom to wash your hands. Their serving quantity is also very less compared to other similar restaurants. There are much better restaurants in the city where you can enjoy your evening. I will go anywhere, but not there again.
Ankita Gupta
Besides the readymade sweets and snacks, anytime I crave a well made dosa I visit this place. Their plain paper dosa is really well made and browned to perfection. Other veg items are also manage to pack a punch of flavour though some of them are a little too greasy for my taste. Love the Raj kachori as well !
Briti Sen
A good restaurant with good service. Not the best but the food is quite well. The sweets are the best thing there. The interior is very nice. I hope that it could improve the service
Bzoy
Tasted some awesome sweets at Makhon Bhog recently. The ambience is awesome. They have a huge variety of sweets to suit your taste buds. Must visit for sweet lovers!
Bhargav Gogoi
Besides Jbs, this is my go to restaurant for authentic veg food. The service and hygiene quality here has only improved over the years. We ordered a masala dosa and Hakka noodles. Both the dishes were cooked in a very homely manner without spices and I totally love it's homely approach towards their items. The staff was friendly and the service was fast. Overall a very good experience.
Palak Tripathi
Starting with the starter.. it was too good to be honest.. (Mongolian potato) .. u wont stop eating.. nxt to the main course. We ordered handi paneer, a mix veg sabji suggested by them, butter nun and biryani and also one of us(family) tried masala dosa. everything was good.. bt the suggested item was not so tasty.. since rest of the item were good and also the dosa was tasty ..I think n suggest to go to this place wid fmly.. although the place becomes noisy and chaostic when the house is full but then too they serve Ur food in ur plate personally.. I really liked it. But only bcz of the item they suggested which was the nly item we didn't like so much.. that is why i wud gv 4/5star!
Salma Nasrin
Makhan bhog was long pending. When veg makhan bhog seems always a yes. They serve amazing simple veg food. And staff and the service is pretty much fine. Haven’t been here since long though but when visited it was a good option for veg in that locality.
Wheels N Spoons
When you have only one choice to choose something in veg, then yes definitely this place. They serve neat and clean! Masala dosa is my favourite out here!
Deval Dubey
In just a few words.. one of the best veg restaurants in town which is pocket frinedly and gives you a big menu of items n whose dishes dont dissapoint you in any way.. sone pe suhaga are the amazing sweets which you can eat after a tummy full dinner.. my favourite is chocolate pan which is really the best in guwahti handsdown.. even the pastires here are tastier than many repose outlets!! Best place to have quick bite if you live near by!
Tanmoy Mordina
The sweets are good as usual, loved the papri chat but the hakka noodles I ordered was more raw cabbage than noodles... Please make sure the food is cooked before delivery.

GAURAV MITNA
Nice place, great ambience, service is also good.
The place is usually known for its North Indian food and sweets.
Today we tried manchurian, fried rice and hakka noodles, with my today's experience I can say that chinese food is not their forte.
So if you go to this place go for their North Indian or South Indian options.
Olindita Bennett
One of the best place to have veg food.. I really like the ambience of the place. Very friendly and good staff members. I enjoy visiting the place more often when my taste buds want to devour some awesome street fast foods. The tasty is really good indeed.

I usually come here for entertaining my sweet tooth with some sugary aromatic and tuneful delicacies but this time for a change I opted for something punchy. It was idli sambar n dahi vade.I was delighted with d idlis on my plate coz they offered me one tangy chutney along with those traditional add-ons making it a perfect combination. Moreover, the size of d idlis was big enuff to fill my tummy for a lunch.I won't say much about d dahi vades coz of its usual taste size n colour.
The huge rush at the outlet and the smiles of contentment was something which is making me think about my next meal here at the earliest.
Navoday Das
One of the best places in Guwahati if you are looking for some good north indian vegetarian food.. Try the paneer main course items here and Naan or Rotis here... I wouldn't recommend the rice items like Veg Biryani coz there is nothing Biryani about it....
Maddy
Very nice vegetarian outlet....they have sweets n confectionery on the ground floor and restaurant on the first floor..Its remain packed up during lunch...Food is good...tried their thank, dosas, roti, aloo dam....

Good food.
Good staff.
Good service.
Jus need to change the timings as most items are time bound should be made available all the time.
Good for Veg
The best place to have veg food along with the South Indian dishes. Pocket friendly and good staff. The mithais are so tasty. My personal mithais are gond ke ladoo and the super succulent rasmalai . They are quite good in maintaining their taste record so far.
Thetrottingtongue
warm staff and being a purely vegetarian restaurant it was well maintained. As I went for some evening snack, I Ordered crispy corn which was up to mark and jafrani kebab which although tasted very good, took a very long time to served. The green chutney served with the kebab was one of the best chutney I ever had.
Manish Pathak
The so called restaurant is just a little higher version of sweet shop outlet.. Very conjusted and crowded.. Less space.. And one very important thing it's wash room is so small that when you get inside you will feel trapped..
Regarding food order processing is not so good..
Quality is just above average..
There are better outlets them this it was my first and last visit to MAKHAN BHOG..
very bad experience..

Makhan Bhog - a strictly vegetarian restaurant catering chinese and continental food in addition to Indian dishes was chock-a-bloc with patrons the day I went to eat there. The dining area seemed to me like a regular food court eatery that one finds in the malls these days and the food was no different - very run of the mill. I was there with my Maa and aunt, both ordered a butter masala dosa each and I decided to keep things simple with a biryani and ordered one lajjatdar handi biryani - the only choice available. While taking the order, the waiter asked me politely, if I would like to order a gravy as the biryani would be dry and served sans any raita and that is when I decided to order one Dum Aloo. Proportion wise - the biryani and the Dum Aloo both would nicely suffice two persons ( a highly relative statement, but trust me, one have to be starving badly to finish it all by oneself). Dum Aloo was dull as dishwater but the biryani was fragrant and nice enough to save the day. Will I repeat my order again? Probably the biryani but as I am a person who learns from his mistakes, the dum aloo would never make it to my plate again. The ladies liked their dosas, so it's a win win there. Service was fine - food did not take much time to arrive despite the crowd and the bloke who served us, did so with a smile. However, the cutlery, like the food and the ambience fails to justify the premium and by the end of my meal I was left wondering about it and found the cost to service ratio gratuitously high.
Been here quite a number of times, this place is the vegetarian food Haven.
The Dosa is unique and one I look forth to always.
We once had Crispy Babycorn for starters, Deewani Handi, Malai Korma with Naan for main course. The food was real rich and satisfying.
Among the continental, Penne Arrabiata and Spaghetti Alla Marinara are recommendable.
Service is, as always, perfect.
Antaraa (Emon)
One of the best sweets shop and veg restaurant in town! The sweets they make are the best in guwahati, although a bit over priced but total value for money! They have a wide range of sweets, snacks, namkeens. The pastries and cakes they serve are excellent, also the mocktails and milkshakes are too good. In the restaurant section which is located upstairs, the food they serve is fresh and tasty. I love their thalis, which includes various items and it's quite good, other than that the dosa, the pav bhaji and the chole bhature is too good, also the chats are very tasty. This is an ideal place if you are planning for lunch dinner or evening snacks.
Ria
The staff is so good in this place.. Food is also not too pricey.. They are really hygienic..Good place if you're a pure vegetarian.. Loved it.. The last time I was there I ordered dosa.. Must say one of the most healthy dosa I have had ever.. Not spicy at all..
