Review The Steaming Mug - Guwahati

The interior and the ambiance is nice. The food is however okayish. I feel the lighting is a little inadequate. The food as compared to price and quantity is great. The service is however not so good. It took little long to serve our food. Out of whatever I ate I'll recommend CCBC and Farmhouse Pizza. Also if you're a student there is 15% off offer.

The Steaming Mug, located at Ambari, has a great ambience, is spacious and the menu is a steal deal. Their food and service is great. Had a lovely time spending a summer afternoon at this cafe.

What I love about this place is their extensive menu options. The ambience and sitting space is well maintained. But I would still give it a 4 star because the food is not worth the price. The crunchy chocolate frappe was not crunchy, the barbeque chicken is a bit burnt and the chicken pizza is a bit tangy. But their Alfredo chicken pasta is a must have. It's perfect. Shall definitely visit next time.

Nice place to hang out with friends and closed ones! The Asian Chicken sizzler I tried was awesome, and so was the Lasagne! The lasagne here tastes better than in the nearby 11th Avenue. We went around 9:45 on a weekend and the ambience was great. Staff hospitality is also very warm.

The newest entrant to the cafe culture of guwahati. This place has amazing food, the food is really tasty. Every bit of the menu is worth tasting. The ambience is pretty. Has a smoking zone too. Overall amazingly created. Give it a try.

It is a good small cafe. I like the ambiance. As cafes are famous for their breakfast item in the menu, we have ordered two breakfast, English Breakfast and The steaming mug breakfast. The later was better than the former one actually. In fact I would advice to not order the English Breakfast at all.

Beautiful decor and ambience makes it an awesome place to visit and hangout. The staff are friendly but one of the waiters behaviour was not good. For ordering food, you have to scan QR code with your smartphone and the menu appears on your phone and enter the pin and all so if they not added your pin then you have to wait. Preparing food takes time but quality and taste is good. Overall it was a good experience. Do visit at least once.

I have visited here for almost 2 or 3 times with my friends. And the ambience is really nice and the air conditioning makes it a lot more comfortable to spend some quality time with your loved ones. The quality of the food is good as well. Some food are a bit expensive in comparison to the quantity of food being served. Other than that everything is good to go.

This cafe is a quintessential one with funky seating arrangements and good music, with a great menu. It also offers a smoking zone. The food is great and the points that they offer with every bill is a saviour at times. The staff is very friendly.

Will go again. I only popped in to get dine-in mojito, but I was struck by how friendly the service was. The food and mojito were wonderful too! And very well priced♥️🤗

Well most likely rate a 5 star but, the pizza did not make a mark on my eyes as well as taste buds. Its rather a cheese pizza than a chicken pizza. Steaming Mug gotta work on their pizza. Other than this great ambience, quick service, good staffs.

We visited this beautiful cafe today and had a great time there!! Though it was a quick visit, it was an experience and we loved this place!! The atmosphere is cosy. Love their sitting arrangements. The ambience is perfect. Talking about the location this place is located in Ambari which makes it very accessible and also has parking space. Coming to the food and staff, we ordered Chicken dry fry, Mac & Cheese , Blue Lagoon , and Mini Hotdog. The price is reasonable. The food was fresh. The chicken dry fry was so good. Mac & cheese is a must try. Blue Lagoon is also highly recommended. Mini Hotdog was not bad . It was okayish. The staff is decent. Would definitely like to explore their menu more in the future. Worth a visit simply for their mac & cheese!!

Visited this place today and i was not disappointed at all. Good staff members and service. Coming to the food i had mexicana sandwich, veg pot rice and was satisfied with the taste. Also had oreo cookies shake and capuccino. Nice place to chill and spent time with friends. Would definitely recommend this place.

It's a cool place to kick away those weekday blues. The comfortable floor seating cushions are particularly relaxing and gives a homely vibe. But the portion and taste of food has scope for improvement, hence the place loses a star. And the interior decors are aesthetic, which is great for those photos sessions. Overall, a good, lively place.

Please to visit I often visit steaming mug for refreshments and to have tasty food.last time I ordered this bbq wings and American corn fry with just left me speechless with their mesmerising taste . I think everyone of us should once tried the bbq wings. The disappointing part was the next time I visited there they could not serve us the bbq wings. <br/>they were also going on with some construction in their sitting area but I feel their previous sitting area was the best part of the best part Cafe. I think they should at least maintain some system of the ground sitting in their Cafe as usual. Otherwise it will always have my heart.

I had the chicken steak out here and I had to admit that it tastes really good...it has open air ambience and a smoking zone too the only thing they need to improve is there latte and cappuccino

There's a massive price difference between the restaurant menu and the zomato online order menu.. And that is why they serve stale less quantity food when u get it delivered thorough zomato. But if u eat in their restaurant they will serve u the best..

Ambiance- Just great. There's a place for your comfortable sitting down if you want to. <br/>Food - the pasta, creamy macaroni, is just awesome. 4.5/5. Tried cappuccino, it was okay (3/5). Classic cheeseburger was also okay (3.5/5). There's more room for improvement.<br/>Staff - very friendly.

As I had early morning flight I talked with steaming mug owner and he infact was saying, we will b happy to serve u on new year eve. Its our privilege that u want to spend new year eve at our place even though officially they were closing at 11pm.<br/><br/>Now comes food. I am Not from guwahati and was searching for best pizza in guwahati and then I saw pic of pizza at steaming mug and was excited to eat it and as had expected. Pizza was awesome. It was so good that I went twice in my trip to eat just pizza.<br/><br/>My friend also recommended sizzler which are also great<br/><br/>Now comes ambience, reason I wanted to spend new year eve at steaming mug was coz their ambience is very nice and perfect.<br/><br/>This review would be useless if I don't mention support staff and owner of steaming mugs. They all are awesome and I want to thank them for making my new year eve so wonderful.<br/><br/>Nice gesture of keeping joint open only for one person. Pleasant ambiance with cool decorations. The staff are friendly and their service is top-notch. The mocktails are nice but the pizza is not up to the mark.

I've attached pictures of the Paneer Manchurian and American crispy corn that I had ordered from this restaurant. The Paneer was not cooked properly and it was stale and also it was not even Manchurian (as you can see in the picture). The American crispy corn was half burnt.<br/>Overall it was a really bad fooding experience. Didn't expect this kind of service from a restaurant with 4.1 as it's rating.

Ordered pizza was the worst ever. Tasted pathetic and the size was smaller than my little finger. Also it was cold. Had only four chicken pieces. No oregano or chilli flakes were accompanied with it. It tasted like I was chewing on rubbery morsels of bread.

Well talking about the interiors, it's really pretty! A good place to hangout! On the other hand, I didn't find the food that amazing,I mean it was okay but wasn't great. The cheese on top of the fries tasted really bad,it wasn't cheese at all. However I liked the drumsticks and the pizza.

Not very impressed with this outlet even though it was a long due. The service is not good at all as I had to signal the waiter each time I wanted to order something. There was not even a single table occupied and me n my sister were the only visitors and still, the service guys failed to attend us promptly. Minute details like not bringing glasses to the table or not handing over the menu is not very welcoming you know. <br/><br/>Anyways, we tried the Chicken Lollipop which was lip smacking but the pizza was a strict NO-NO! The cheese did not smell great and gave a weird after taste. Let's see if our second visit is worth all the hype.

I ordered 1 masala maggi from here.. And trust me guys I the name of spiccenness they just add chilli flakes and boiled.. It was worst maggi I ever had. They just boil some veggie and most of them are rotten with maggi... I think they don't even put that taste maker with maggi fully... M never gonna order from here anymore 🤢.

One of my favourite cafe in town. The place is a delight. You can visit this place at any time of day. The ambience is warm and lively and the food is nice. The mocktails are nice, the pizzas and the various starters are nice. They just just launched a few items for the breakfast and that’s nice. Nice good and filling. This place is nice to hang out with friends to spend some good quality time.

This place has pretty interiors and i love the sitting area. I did like the food at the beginning but my recent visit to the place have not been that great. Yes, i did like the sandwich but the shake and the drums of heaven was not that great though. But the place has got great potential for future improvement!

The best thing of the place is its cosy interior. TSM is a perfect place to spend some quality time with your loved ones. It has a separate smoking zone and an exterior seating arrangement as well. However, it seems the place might have lost touch over time considering my experience.<br/><br/>I asked for few items on menu like Assam tea (no tea available), Checked for Momos (nope not available), checked for Monchow soup (not available), checked for one more thing...nope not present.<br/><br/>Asked the staff to help out a decent place I could go. They did.<br/><br/>So overall staff is courteous. Ambience is nice. Only challenge is that options on the menu are not available. I heard chef is good and would love to come back sometime if they have options available.

Steaming Mug is such a beautiful place with a delectable selection from their menu to choose from. Beautiful decor and interiors make the place really nice to spend a few hours. Do try the masala coke and chicken pot rice.

This place is like so pretty and it has got an attractive big menu....lol ... Really appreciate their service and well the food we get here is tasty.... The place is centrally located, with impressive interiors. Cordial staff. Coming to the food, the quantity is very less compared to the price. I didn't like that. Well we went to this place and no doubt the interior design was really great...few things which was not are:<br/>1) the music is too loud that you can't even hear each other speaking also the song selection wasn't pleasant.<br/>2) The Staff was lazy,probably absent minded.<br/>3) we ordered pizza,and they only brought pizza with no oreganos and flakes.. we had to call and ask for it.<br/>4) we ordered Spicy American French fries...they brought us the coldest french fries..and with No Sauce..we told 'em it was cold ..they brought again with burnt fries but still it was cold..<br/><br/>

We ordered chicken Dimsum momo, Polo Arabiatta and Masala Coke. It was delicious. For the first time I had a non-vegetarian pizza and I loved it. I'd highly recommended Dimsum momo and Polo Arabiatta to everyone. I'm not sure about the Masala Coke though. It was good and I never had it before but for the price I don't know if it's worth it or not. You can definitely try it if you wish to. Overall, I would recommend you to go there. The ambience is magnificent as well. Very modern, very aesthetic and very instagramic. 5/5 to ambience.<br/>Also, they have smoking area. That's good for everyone.

It’s a perfect place for hangout with ur family Nd dear ones. The ambience was so touchy and attractive. I love the way they designed the cafe. It’s easy to find the location. I also loved the outdoor seating area. The food was great the espresso was perfect and the shake was really tasty and the bruschetta was delicious 😋. A great place to hang around with your friends. Steaming mugs stays in the softest corner of my heart as the best times of my life have been spent there. A plate of french fries and black coffee was one of our favourites. The chicken Sizzlers and Hawaiian bbq sandwich was sumptuous. Adding to food, the ambience and a separate space for smokers is something which you won't find much in Guwahati. The idea is very unique and prices are very reasonable. This place is recommendable for every age.

A great place to chill with friends. Also if you want a solo date with yourself. I was there with a book in my hands, with a cup of coffee and a plate of fries. The ambience is calm and composed, not too loud. The latte was amazing and strong, just the way I like. The fries were crispy and delicious. I love that they serve mayonnaise as a dip with the fries because not many restaurants do that.<br/><br/>I will surely try the other dishes as well. The Steaming Mug!! Finally i was there today. Innovation starts just from the entrance of the cafe. U have to climb the stairs which doesnt seem like you are going first floor but yes you are. The ambience was good enough and they have a smoking area where you can sit back barefoot and enjoy your eateries along with your smoke. The behaviour of the staff was really good and supportive. Their menu was too large to hold...haha...but yes i liked it. The space was good. The food that we ordered got delivered without much delay. Everything was perfect except the fact that. .. the tea which is the favourite and trending beverage in Guwahati now was not at all good. Dip tea is not preferred anymore. I would request the management to make a perfect cup of chai in that price only. Overall a good time being spent.

Perfect place for a foodie like me. Ordered BBQ Wings(served with mayo) and choco banana juice for starter,TSM's sizzler(chicken fillets, butter rice,vegies and French fries) and spaghetti (served with chicken meat balls and bread), and at last, summed up with TSM's Sundae(vanilla and chocolate ice-cream scoops served with fresh fruits). The city having come up with number of cafes and restaurants it's difficult to choose one. One of my suggested this place and we ended up filling our stomach in The Steaming Mug. The soon I entered, I loved the interiors. lights have always amused me, probably this is the reason why it stood out in the first impression!! The next best thing that could happen.."the smoking zone". After a long tiring day I really needed a few puffs and thankfully they had a great smoking zone too! The staff being too helpful, one of the waitress helped us with the menu and we ended up picking #Koreanbarbequechicken which we loved every bit!

This is a nice place, with wonderful ambiance. The portions for the dishes are good for the price. Had a really good experience here.<br/>Ordered the Chicken Ranchi burger, Drums of Heaven, Nutella coffee shake (yummy) and Oreo shake. All the items were really worth it.<br/>

Kindly never try the virgin mojito there.<br/>It's like mint, water, ice, lemon are just given in a glass. It's horrible. Seriously! I'm never gonna visit again. The sandwich was moderately okay. And fries were good. The Environment was quite nice!

There are so many cafes and restos in the city at present that it's getting difficult to choose for people to find the the one that won't disappointment you or the ones that you can choose to hangout , have a comfortable sit or for a first meet with someone would be special. In this regard I can help you guys out there with this name. Steaming mug is located in a moderately congested and beautiful part of the city near dighalipukhuri and easily assesible.<br/>Ambience - vibrant with decent decors. You should try reading the ceiling and wall readings.<br/>There is a special smoking zone and so the ones who love fumes , no need to worry.<br/>Foods- decent as many places offer good food and beverages nowadays.<br/>Delivery time - you may have to wait a little bit and there is no harm as waiting time is not too much either<br/>Staffs- I found them smiling and friendly to approach and it was pleasant experience.<br/>Special thing to note- you can sit on mattresses and carpets and down and that's a creative aspect. They have graded sitting system from sitting on ground to normal seats up .<br/>So enjoy and have fun.<br/>

My first visit to place and i really enjoyed it.<br/>Had mexicana sandwich, juicy lucy burger, cappuccino, oreo cookies shake andveg pot rice which was the best , because i really like simple food.<br/>Polite staff, great service.

They have a wide range of items. It serves as a nice ambience with good food but is a disappointment in terms of quantity. The quantity served is not apt. Given the prices, this needs to be improved. Maggi and coffee got my thumbs up with a thumbs down for the pizza and the corn.

Quite a regular visitor of this place. The best thing about this bistro is the fact that it never leaves you disappointed. Every time I'm there, I decide to try something new from the menu they have. Trust me, they shall help relishing your taste buds big time. The floor seating area is the best part for someone like me who prefers sitting on the floor which is far more cosier. Coming to the food, their dimsums are pretty good. The pizzaz and the sizzlers deserve a special mention. Kudos to this beautiful place in the city.

Unique option of sitting on the floor apart from usual chairs; but those tables miss the foot well.<br/><br/>Service and hygiene 2/5<br/>Green horn attendants. Half of the items were not available. The whole burger menu was unavailable. Even after repeated reminders to provide noodles with the sizzlers, we got rice. The replacement with noodles took nearly half and hour. The loo was dirty. Yuckiest thing was stains on the door starting right below the door hook. Similar stains on the wash basin!<br/><br/>Food 2.5/5<br/>Taste is average at best. The California Chicken Club was horrible! Two chunks of chicken and filled with mayo, minced cabbage and diced onions (Guwahati really doesn’t know how to make a good sandwich-stop stuffing mayo and diced veggies in every sandwich). Other items we ordered were smoky BBQ chicken (bland), chicken sizzlers (okay-noodles overcooked), Italian chicken Maggi (delicious!), and the coffees (cappuccino and frappe) were good.<br/><br/>Value for money 2.5/5<br/>Going by quality and taste, the prices are inflated.<br/><br/>I may go again by chance; but never again as a plan. Good good. Had fun.<br/>AC was not working so the place seemed hot and humid. It's a good place to click pics inside and hangout. Food was good and price is reasonable. They serve very large portions and very filling. Waiters are not very responsive.<br/>Interiors is eye catching...<br/>But its a must visit place.

This place is one for all the college going kids. The place is very quaint and cute with a very prompt staff and delicious food. There is also a seperate space for smokers. I went there with my friends and we had ordered cafe frappes, spaghetti with roasted chicken and chicken & pepper salad. The cafe frappes were really amazing and the spaghetti was good too. The chicken & pepper salad was also really amazing. I’m not a big fan of salads but this one is really good if you want a healthy option to choose from. And the price is also a value for money. Overall, visit this place for it’s cozy feeling and great food.
