Review Kangan - Hyderabad

Upscale Indian restaurant with great food and drink menus. The decoration of the restaurant is great. There was a guy who actually made kangans for you outside of the restaurant by the door. It was fun to watch him. The set menu was great with lots of food to taste from. Their cocktails were pretty good, too. If you have guests from another country, this could be a restaurant to break the ice. I'd come back to enjoy the atmosphere and food again.

Very good ambience and a very friendly staff. When I visited not much people are there and neither any live music(probably wrong timing). Menu is mostly North Indian and Hyderabadi style with decent count of options for vegetarians. Place is relatively small. As crowd was less my order came quiet fast and food was tasty. Loved almost all items we had.

I went for Diwali dinner at Kangan Restaurant WESTIN with one of my friend. Total bill was 5800 INR. Drinks: We ordered 2 cocktails one was with mint and other was some strawberry based. Taste was great and crisp. For food we ordered 2 Veg Thalis, since in thalis you get good variety at reasonably price. You get 2 starters, 3 curry including Shaahi Paneer, Malai Kofte and Mix Veg and choice of bread, 1 Dal, Dum Subz Biryaani and Sweet at end. Food: All tasted quite good. I didn’t like much the veg Kebab in starters. Environment: It was quite soothing, live background music was played by Tabla and Sitar artists. Loved it!

This place is really treat for the food lovers. Wonderful food, great service, great atmosphere. This restaurant is inside the WESTIN hotel in hitech city in lower ground floor. This is pure fine dining restruant with most of the items will cost good. We tried below items during our visit... 1. Papad (appetizer complementary) 2. Peshawari Murgh Kabab (must try) - 4 pieces in one plate 3. Murgh Dum Biriyani (very flavourful, we liked it, 1 plate is sufficient for 2, 2 chicken pieces) You can ask for any restruant discounts at the beginning.

This is one of the best Indian restaurants that I have ever experienced, and I love Indian food. The service was exceptional...on a five star scale I would give this a 10! And our server, David, was so wonderful. He arranged a very special experience for us to meet the chef and learn how to make bread in the tandoori oven. His food recommendations were perfect for those who like the heat as well as those who avoid spicier foods. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Kangan is an excellent North Indian restaurant based in The Westin Hyderabad. Ambience, food and service overall was great! Price in comparison with the horrible Kebabs and curries - ITC Kakatiya was reasonable. In detail review - Kebab starters - Peshawari Murgh (Chicken) was mouth wateringly delicious πŸ˜‹, succulent semi charcoal cooked chicken Kebab! Tandoori subzi (mixed vegetable) was good but too much pineapple was given and no panneer (Cottage cheese)! Highlight dishes - Tala Ghost - Lamb Kebab cubicle sized - Extremely juicy tender meat - very delicious, perfect with Tandoori bread & Dal Kangan (Black Dal lentils)! - charcoal, smoky buttery lentils - πŸ˜‹ Yum as hell! Breads were well baked especially Phulka and Tandoori roti! Methi roti was good too! Ambience is serene and classic music played by musicians in background. Service is good, attentive and knowledgeable staff, but they get nervous when a huge crowd comes to their restaurant! This I personally witnessed! Need to stay calm and composed instead of arguing and fighting among each other, which I have seen take place on Saturday 22nd October 2022! Pls. Visit and support this restaurant if one is keen to try north Indian restaurants in 5 star 🌟 hotels! πŸ‘πŸ™πŸ˜ŽπŸŒŸβœ¨

Tucked inside the Westin hotel in hyderabad, this is a highly recommended Indian gourmet restaurant. Loved the food taste and ambiance. The only reason they lost a star is the service team were a bit lost and appeared as though they were in training. If it was so they should wear a training badge so guest know to be more accommodating towards them. The best part is this kangan maker who sits outside the restaurant and shows how a kangan (think bangle) is hand made. He also lets you keep your uniquely crafted kangan which is a nice touch. If you like the kangan and taking it home don’t forget to tip him graciously.

The Goan Detour is a pop up that intricately ventures into the flavourful journey of Goan Cuisine. The unheard stories of the locals and the ingredients forgotten were all brought to us by Chef Avinash. There is so much more to the beaches and party destinations in Goa that is richly infused in the culture and food. This pop up is appealingly placed at the Kangan restaurant of Westin which again enticingly folds in the traditional ambiance of Indian culture. The Goan Detour is priced at 4999/- and is available for experience in Westin Hyderabad from 10th to 12th March! Below are the details of the Vegetarian Menu. 1.) Pao de Quesso - Cheese stuffed Pao with Tomato Saar Salsa. Makes a lovely start to the meal! 2.) Duo of Pumpin - Rich and flavourful pumpkin xec-xec bisque with pumpkin seed croquettes. 3.) Tender Coconut Carpaccio - Star of the meal, a unique representation of the tender coconut with Solkadhi, Aamras, Leche de Tigre and fried quinoa added the perfect crunch. 4.) Tale of Two Cities - Jackfruit, Ambotika, Kalchi Kadhi star fruit 5.) Sorbet Course 6.) Dungar Vangi - Crisp Eggplant skin, smoked eggplant mousse and aiolis 7.) Coconut Jaggery Cheesecake with Cream Cheese frosting and Brandy Snap πŸͺ - one of the best cheesecakes I have had in a while! Kangan is a luxury dining restaurant at The Westin. Kangan means bangle, and the ambience is reminiscent of the same. You will find an array of bangles adorning the place, which is actually mesmerising. The cuisine is largely North Indian, and I must say, it sure has an authentic North Indian taste. The service is good, not great. Taking off a star for this. Their food is delicious, which is why I find myself visiting them time and again. They have a live kangan counter, where one can get a customised lac bangle made for take away. It is really amusing to watch the guy make it. Take a look at the video I’ve posted.

This is the place where me and my friend who are hardcore non vegetarians go for some off the shelf, very tasty and equally nutritious vegetarian food.Non vegetarian food is good too but we love their vegetarian starters specially the Tandoori Broccoli and stuffed mushrooms yum yum yum. We have them everytime we are there the ajwain fish is also very nice and so is the mutton biryani. A very good and lively place for both good and ambiance for hungry bellies to the likes of me and my friend Sandeep. A little heavy on the pocket but in our opinion every penny well spent here. I go here everytime I am in Hyderabad and will visit again and again and again. The hotel servers are very helping and polite.

Food is great. Live Music & Live Kangan making adds to the X factor. Service is great. I went for a special occasion and was delighted the way they accomodated every request.

This restaurant is located at the bottom floor of the Westin. The traditional, cozy ambiance is accented by a 'bangle maker' who makes bangles to order, and bangle decorations justifying the name of the restaurant. The service was excellent with the servers in traditional, simple white attire. The food was the show stealer - it was authentic, and tastefully done. I had the murgh qorma that came in the clay pot that it was cooked with the roti the covered the pot. The price is slightly on the higher side but the food was delicious.

Excellent Indian food at the Westin Hyderabad. The ambiance and live music plus complimentary traditional bangle making add to excellent food offerings. Chef Anshu and Rajeev really took care of us with a set of samplers that were dialed back on the spice. Favorite dishes included the ground lamb kebab and lamb curry. Cottage cheese dessert with sugar syrup was also a fantastic balance of sweet with a tiny bit of savory. Highly recommend.

Great northern Indian food. Their service in particular is excellent. The server invited me into the kitchen to see how naan is made by the chef.
