Amber Fort is an architectural wonder steeped in history that's truly captivating. The grandeur and intricacies of this place are simply breathtaking, especially for enthusiasts passionate about architectural photography like myself. Visiting during the off-season was a game-changer. The reduced crowds made it possible to appreciate the fort's beauty without feeling overwhelmed. Trust me, it's worth planning your visit during quieter times to soak in the grandeur without the hustle and bustle. For history buffs, having a guide is invaluable. Their insights and explanations add layers to the experience, offering a deeper understanding of the fort's rich historical significance. It's fascinating to delve into the stories behind every wall and courtyard. Despite the potential for crowds, Amber Fort remains a must-visit. Its architectural brilliance and historical depth make it an unforgettable stop, especially if you're passionate about capturing stunning visuals through photography.

Recently visited this fort. Absolutely loved it. The history and architecture is mind blowing. A good step by Rajasthan Government to cap the charges of guides at 400. Was able to get a jeep to show around all the 3 forts nearby. The crowd is too much though at the monument which does lead to traffic snarls before you can enter the fort. Able to buy a lot of things within the premises so makes it easier.

Amber Palace was beautiful in its design and scale and a must visit site for any travelling to India as a tourism hub. The intricate carvings and fortifications of red sandstone and white marble make it majestic wherever you were to look. It has a rich history of battles with cannons placed inside as protection during sieges. The architecture really showcases both indigenous and Mughal styles, the walls are filled with historically paintings and engineering intelligence. There is plenty of passive cooling for the king and his wives to stay cool in the summers and enjoy the view, as well as plenty of individual space for everyone. Within the inner buildings, the king had built a house for each wife, with each one as massive as the last. As it was built for the King, there was not a need to accommodate anyone apart from his people, and therefore the dense population was not a concern. However, despite this, it is a fort, and it shows. It is capable of fitting thousands of troops to overlook and protect the King, with its vast outer walls stretching as if it was the Great Wall of China. It is truly surprising that the bulk of it was built in one lifetime but has remained standing for close to a thousand years now and looks to stand for another thousand after this. Truly showcasing its sustainability as a building.

The fort is a great architectural landmark and definitely a must visit when in Jaipur. The fort is about 12-15 kms away from the main city so you need transportation to get there. The entrance fee is about 200 Rs and the climb is steep. There are jeeps that get you up to the top and you can work with them to wait till you finish the tour to pick you up. This is a classical tourist trap place. So discuss the details of the jeep the cost and the number of people before getting the jeep. They have guides as well so if you are interested get one. Mind you they might push you to shops where they have tie ups. Also there are many shops in the vicinity selling bedspread and quilts along with other handicraft. The prices of these are not standard and sold on the whims of the shop keepers. As none of them have a price tag and many of them have an inflated price so best to bargain a bit on them. Not sure if they still have an elephant service to take folks to the entrance of the fort. The place can be covered in 2 hours. The walk up to the fort entrance can be tedious and will take 1-2 hours

The ticket price for foreigners is 502R (~6$). But you have to wait in a long queue. Yes, there are so many people!! And you have to walk for a while to reach. The ticket counter is up there in the palace To me, it is the most amazing of all places in Jaipur. One of the greatest engineering marvels I find. The architecture is in detail. The view is stunning from there. You can see the walls of the ancient city of Jaipur and other fortresses.

Plan your trip accordingly. I'll suggest devote a full day trip so that you can enjoy the scenic view. Although, I came here in a one day tour package, the only con is that we have to leave early and cannot watch the light show.

It's s very big fort/Palace atop a hill in Jaipur. You should have good amount of time with you to completely explore the place. On weekends it can take a lot of time to reach the Palace due to traffic. But its worth the wait and efforts.

Fantastic place with so much history. Make sure to get a guide (400 or so rupees) to really learn what this beautiful place was all about. Massive palace sitting on the mountain in the middle of a jungle. Such a wonder how these structures were built so long ago and are still standing so sturdy today. The sun and water palace is amazing.

Amber palace has so much history. Big wall that surrounds the palace and detailing tiled ceiling that reflects light conveying beautiful star like reflection that surrounds the area. I will definitely recommend getting a tour guide, for it will provide you with details of the palace from the history behind each room layout to its fascinating structures. If you don’t get a tour guide you will get lost with the maze like layout.

Fantastic place with a great view. It is clean. There is an entry fee and the fare is ₹100 pp You can also book thru online You can just scan the QR code from the entry gate and I would recommend you to choose the QR code for taking the ticket. It is one of the best place for Photography and there are no extra charges for camera. Bus are less but you can get the Jeep and Auto to reach here.
