Have been going here since I was around 5. And even now, I haven't found better authentic Chinese cuisine anywhere else. Thai Fried Rice, Chicken Sweet Corn Soup, Veg/Non-Veg noodles, American Chop suey, Chicken manchurian are my all-time favourites. Must recommended to everyone who wants to try out the best Chinese food around.
Obviously when you talk about chinese food .noodles pop on your mind and it's a best place to have an actual chinese noodles as we'll as if you're fan of chicken manchurian .yea if you count on soups it's pretty hard to find such flavoured soups .
Ni How ie Hello in Chinese. Been having food here since 25 years now. Shanghai Hai is a authentic Chinese joint. Best Chinese Soups in Kanpur. If Chung Fa and Chin Mi score big in Main Course n starters then Shang Hai scores big in Soups n Chowmein. Main Course is average but not bad. Special Menu, Prawns, Foo Yong Me Fan, Yie Fu Chowmein and Spring rolls in starters are great in taste.
I have been going to shangai from a long time and i must say if you like chinese food then you should visit shanghai because they serve the best! Chinese food in kanpur. Their is only one problem and that is food prices seems little on the high side rest everything is amazing!😄
Tasty food preparation.. authentic Chinese food...great hospitality.. better than any other Chinese restaurant in nearby vicinity...😊inspite of being a small place ...it gives you the best feel ..and great atmosphere..love this place.

Fabulous Chinese food excellent preparation with authentic taste. Must visit place in Kanpur - have been a regular for the last 35 years. Very few Chinese restaurants can serve such tasty vegetarian Chinese dishes.
Must have Manchow Soup., Hakka Noodles & Garlic Fried Rice.

It’s taste and style is slightly different and that’s what makes the place so much better
Peter Lim is a good host and takes good care if you if you are eating at the place as it is quite a small cosy little restaurant giving you the feel of small Chinese / Tibetan restaurants in hill stations
Their fried rice, American chopsuey, Chicken Manchurian and prawns all are good and must be given a shot.. also the quantity is really good and it has good portions
This is place is divine for the ones who like Authentic Chinese. Most delicious Chinese i have ever had. It's like I can have it regularly. I really love Hakka noodles here. The taste and the quality of food is amazing. Must visit place.
It serves perfect authentic Non Veg and Veg Chinese. Very clean and cultural ambience. I believe the price is reasonable as they serve the quality Chinese cuisine. May God bless the Owner, it's staff and restaurant.

Shang-Hai Special Mein: This is the best noodles that I have in Kanpur. It was very flavourful, well balanced and really tasty. Contains egg and topped with shredded chicken. Love the flavour.

Chicken Me Fan: This was also really nice. The noodles were very much silky and tasty. This was actually rice noodles, full of flavours, topped with shredded chicken. You don't need any sauce it was so tasty ☺️.

Chilli Fish: Delicately coated fish served with fried chilli onions. Taste really good 😉.

Chilli Pork: This was the best among all of these.

Im sure it is one of the best and too underrated. Please guys leave those fancy cafes and start visiting the real places for a foodie😍

The food surpassed all expectations with its exceptional quality and delectable flavors. However, the seating area fell short in terms of comfort and ambiance. On a positive note, the service was outstanding, providing attentive and efficient assistance throughout the experience.
I've been here 10yrs ago with my mom and dad during Durga puja. Today I came with my husband to re-live again those moment. It was fab! Interiors changed some people changed but still, it's the same SHANGHAI. ❤❤
This is the best authentic Chinese restaurant I have been to ever. Good ambience and friendly staff and owner. People reviewing that it's expensive but the taste justifies the price.
Have had tryst with Kanpur for last 25 years . In a place that has never really evolved much on food front, this one restaurant is an Oasis having been around for a 100 years. Owned by. 5-6th generation Chinese, the family’s ancestors migrated to India during British period.
Peter and his family have been cooking authentic Chinese meals and believe me folks I would not hesitate to hop on to a train from Delhi to just land up at Shanghai for savouring and filling up on the delicious food .
And in the 25 years that have been connected to this eatery, Peter has become a friend, on the verge of being called Family.
All meals are worth a mention and hence just go there and select anything. It’d be great , is not an understatement!
Good place for authentic Oriental cuisine. Good service with quite ambience.
