This restaurant in Kodaikanal offers incredible, freshly made North Indian dishes like Dal Tadka, Paneer Makhani, Tawa Pulav, Gobi Parota, and Phulka. They operate on a first-come, first-served basis due to limited seating. While placing an order might take some time, once ordered, the service is quick and efficient. Despite being a small eatery, the preparation for other orders is impressive. I opted for Pulav and Aaloo Paratha with curd due to a tight bus schedule, but the overall experience was delightful.
It is strongly recommended for those craving North Indian cuisine. Make sure to verify the closing time; some arrived after 8:45 pm and missed dinner. Highly recommended.

Had one of the best PBMs. Highly recommended for the North Indian cuisines. Don't forget to check the closing timings as many visited after 8.45pm and left without dinner. Highly recommended.
One of the best vegetarian food place in Kodaikanal that will give you a home-like feeling. The food is extremely tasty and the price is also reasonable. We tried Paneer Makhani, Dal Fry with chapati and rice. It felt like eating food similar to home. The place can get crowded very quickly as there are few seats available.
Tasty Food , freshly made and served piping hot in Kodaikanal Weather. As limited seats are available it takes time to place the order but once order is placed service is quick and proper. One best arrangement must be written about the management of this restaurant is that they serve you on first come first basis only. Small eatery but best of North Indian dishes they serve like Dal Tadka , Paneer Makhani, Tawa Pulav, Gobi Parota and Phulka.
A very homely taste. Food feels good and light on the stomach. We tried paneer makhani with chapati and curd and all were good. It felt like eating home cooked food. Reasonable price and quantity.
This is one of the oldest restaurants in Kodaikanal that serves amazing vegetarian food. I've visited this place since I was a child. The good quality and service is just the samem Very friendly staff and service is prompt once you get a table.
Their shrikhand is fabulous, boondi raita is yumm and parathas are piping hot and tasty, not on the menu but ask for the aloo paneer paratha, it's sooo good. Pav bhaji is delicious and so light on the stomach. We tried their hot chocolate too and probably one of the best we have had in Kodaikanal. I would definitely recommend this place.
During our 3-day Kodaikanal trip, when we were craving some North Indian cuisines, we searched on Google, found out about Tava Veg Restaurant and went there to have our dinner.
What We Ordered:
Daal Makhni
GheeRoti/Ghee Chapati
Paneer Masala
Veg Fried Rice
Staff Behavior:
Really good. The uncle, who attended the tables and the chap, who was running the place, were cool and helpful. Everyone was coordinating with each other to serve the customers at their best capacity, which I liked.
There was a huge queue there when we arrived, but they made sure we get our table when our turn came, pretty fast.
Food, Taste & Pricing:
Food was good, freshly made and served hot!
Being from Bengal where we have Dhaba food from Sher-e-Punjab, the taste was good. Compared to the quantity, for some items, the prices may seem a bit on the higher side. (But isn't everything pricey at tourist places?)
Do I suggest this place?
Yes, I do, if you are tired of tasting South Indian dishes and visiting the over-priced cafes there, then Tava Veg Restaurant is where you need to head to!
When touring South India, especially a Dosa-Idly-Biriyani-focused tourist place like Kodaikanal, this place can be a real charm to taste some North Indian dishes.
I had an amazing dining experience at this cozy restaurant! Despite the crowd, the North Indian cuisine here is incredibly delicious. The flavors were authentic, and every dish was a treat for the taste buds. The cozy ambiance adds to the charm, but be prepared for a bit of a wait due to its popularity, and if you are a planning for dinner in weekends/ holidays, reach before 0800 PM. It's definitely worth it for the fantastic food. I'll be coming back for more!
If you are looking for north indian veg restaurant in kodaikanal then this is one of the places where you can try. They serve veg north indian foods and it tastes good.
It's a very small outlet but great place for north indian food. Whatever we tried is really amazing especially the gobi parantha. We tried gobhi parantha, aloo parantha, chocolate milkshake, pav bhaji , mutter paneer . Mutter Paneer was good but ginger was very perdominent but other than that everything was really good. Must try whenever you are in kodaikanal
