It is kept up nicely and is clean. Four doors are provided for people's convenience and to aid in crowd control. There are numerous restaurants near the temple, especially those that specialise in apes. The location exudes a powerful vibe. Beautiful architect, amazing design...Despite being in the midst of the city, parking is available even though it becomes packed. The temple is still kept up to date by its workers.

Very old famous temple of Goddess Lakshmi. Usually crowded during the weekends. Those who cannot wait in the queue can have Mukha Darshan which is quicker. There are lots of shops in the temple complex.

This was one of my bucket list places. I had been at and around Kolhapur many times but never had the luck to visit this serene place. The main temple is awesome and an experience to behold. Not much crowded even on Fridays even in the morning. You get to see the main deity Ambabai quite clearly for a minute until you actually stand in front of the deity. It was a mesmerizing experience.

Shri Mahalaxmi - Ambabai Temple in Kolhapur stands as a testament to the rich history and spiritual significance of this ancient city. The temple's history dates back to several centuries, making it a revered and iconic pilgrimage site. Legend has it that the temple was constructed by Lord Parshuram, one of the avatars of Lord Vishnu. Over the years, the temple has undergone various renovations and expansions, enhancing its grandeur and architectural beauty. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Mahalaxmi, the Hindu goddess of wealth and prosperity. Devotees flock to this sacred place to seek the divine blessings of the goddess. The intricate carvings and sculptures adorning the temple walls are a sight to behold, reflecting the artistic brilliance of the bygone era. The divine aura of the temple and the serene ambiance within its premises leave visitors in awe. The temple also boasts a massive chariot used for religious processions during festivals, attracting a large number of devotees. A visit to Shri Mahalaxmi - Ambabai Temple is not just a religious experience but also an exploration of the rich historical and cultural heritage of Kolhapur.

Very big temple with 4 entrances. Huge queue and always crowded . Parking is far. One has to park the car in any paid car parking lot (50 rs per hour) and walk to the temple.

The Mahalaxmi Temple in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, is dedicated to Goddess Mahalaxmi, considered one of the three and a half Shakti Peethas in the region. It's a significant pilgrimage site and known for its architectural and cultural importance. If you have any specific questions or if there's something particular you'd like to know about the temple, feel free to ask! It is believed that a demon named Kolhasur created a ruckus, and the goddess came here on the Earth, to protect people from the demon. The goddess fought with the Demon and brought him to his knees. His dying wish was that this city should be named after him and for this reason, thus the city is named Kolhapur. This is the ancient Hindu temple . Jai shree Mahalaxmi. Please visit once

The temple is beautiful and exudes a peaceful and calm atmosphere. It's centrally located and radiates positive vibes. However parking can be an issue. Street parking is available nearby and there is a municipal parking lot, but it can be somewhat hard to find. The municipal parking charges 30 rs for cars. Toilet facilities are also available. It's about a 15-minute walk from the parking lot to the temple. Be cautious of locals who may try to charge 50rs for parking closer to the temple, as the municipal parking is a more cost-effective and trustable option.
