AMBIANCE: It was Valentine's day evening, we planned to explore Tag Bengal. We chose cal27 because of its popularity and classy surroundings. We experienced exactly what we have expected from a five star platform. That impressed us.
FOOD: We chose special buffet of that evening and we absolutely love it. Veg items were not so tasty but nonveg dishes are mind blowing indeed. I love the dessert section mostly which is my all time favourite. I could see all items I love and all of them had mouthwatering zest.
HOSPITALITY: Waiters welcomed us. We hadn't any issue as it was prebooking (I will advise to book always). It was little crowdy and little noisy as it was a special day, that was little annoying for me. Otherwise everything was fine. They ll take care you and will make you feel welcome again.

My midnight escapade in Kolkata. Whenever I feel hungry after 11, I know this place is the best for me. I absolutely love the food there, it's interesting menu and amazing options. It's calming ambiance is cherry on the top

Pros
1. The hotel has one of the best ambience in Kolkata.
2. The buffet spread boasts of quality over quantity. There is a lot of variety and uniqueness.
3. The sunday alcoholic brunch comes to RS 3540 per pax and includes unlimited sparkling winne, red wine, white wine and vodka.
4.The staff is attentive.
5. No annoying service charge, but being an upscale property, they levy 18% GST.
Cons
A bit pricey,compared to other luxury hotels.
Taj the name describes all. Earlier I visited another dinning section of theirs. I was really impressed that time. But this time I am bit disappointed. Their starter section is limited compared to price charged. In any other Luxury dinning buffet section there is plenty full of options. But compared to the price they charge the starter section is not satisfactory. Rather then this no complains.The staff behavior is really good and prompt. The food was delicious I just loved the food. Hope they will make a bit options in starter section.
Visited the royal property again for brunch , enjoyed the environment food and hospitality.
It is a very nice place. We went for buffet and the hospitality and food both were very good. Ms. Roshni came to the table to show some beautiful magics and it was very much refreshing and entertaining

Cal 27 is one of the best restaurants in Kolkata. However, not many know it is also the best choice for people with lactose intolerance, gluten intolerance and celiacs. I have been to many restaurants in Kolkata but have always ended up with a gluten accident, as proper care was not taken. This is a place you can trust completely.
Food-
I was told they could prepare anything for me as per my health preference and there was no limit to the options. I ordered Grilled Fish, Herb Rice and a brownie. Food was 10/10 in taste, texture and flavor.
Service-
The catering assistant Nizamuddin Ahmed took extra care from the moment we called Cal 27 to inquire if it is gluten and lactose free friendly restaurant. He cleared all my queries patiently and provided the best service while dinning. His positive and friendly attitude added to our experience. In fact, the entire catering team at the restaurant was very careful and responsible about gluten cross contamination.
Chef -
I would want to extend a special gratitude to the Chef Susovan Chakroborty. He was very compassionate, responsible, and caring through out my dinning experience. The Chef ensured each and everything was cooked from scratch using fresh utensils and special care was taken to avoid any cross contamination. It was refreshing to have a Chef who was well versed about celiac or food intolerances, and I did not have to explain the smallest detail. Chef Chakraborty was very kind and thoughtful to offer a lactose free and glutenfree dessert even before I placed an order for the same.
Cost - Value for money!
My experience here was amazing especially because of Mr. Nizamuddin Ahmed and Chef Susovan Chakraborty.

Food was lovely! Service was amazing too! The variety of food was splendid. I enjoyed everything, especially Thai Curry, Mutton, Pasta and the Salami platter. Desserts were also upto the mark. A small bird 🐦 cupcake was made, super cute and creative. Overall, a wonderful experience. Wish to have a feast again at Cal 27 👑❤️
