Despite the ongoing pandemic situation we wanted to eat out. Avoiding the malls seemed to be a good idea and we chose to dine in at the Aura owing to its good reviews. It was not crowded and we were happy. The food and the staff were awesome. Everybody wore a mask and took utmost care to maintain distance. We ordered simple stuff, but the mutton bhuna was mind-blowing. They mentioned that it comes with only 3 pieces but they gave us 6. More brownie points to them for that. All other items tasted good. Very happy with our experience at the Aura.
The dinner buffet at Aura is priced 840+gst on weekdays.True to say,in this price segment ,one of the best buffets they are providing in town.
What I should really mention is their hospitality.So humble and so generous.The complementary mocktail is to be provided only once by the restuarant.But they provided it thrice on request.Thanks to them for this type of munificence.
Coming to the food,every delicacy tasted so yummy yet gastronomic and appetising.3 veg and 3 nonveg strters give a perfect start.
Though there is no lamb or mutton preparation in the spread,but the savouries are so flavoursome as well as lipsmacking that you are not going to feel any dissatisfaction.
And the desserts,brownies,berry cheesecake,tarts,coffee mousse,rasogolla,pastry,all are equally relishing.
So overall I got a wonderful experience.Aura should be a Must recommended place for buffet-lovers.

Next you try the humble Deep Fried Green Chinese Roll — savoury cubes of silky yet crisp spicy vegetables deep fried till perfection.
Warm up tummies with the Sticky Oyster Chicken with delicious crisp, soft and moist chicken and contrasting thick Oyster sauce — it is impossibly comforting.
Order their signature Asian Chicken Flower Dumpling — melt-in-the-mouth mince chicken slicked in a rich, umami-laden spices and wrapped in fluffy steamed rice flour coating that is present on almost every table.
No East Asian meal is complete without dim sum, so get the Vietnamese Dim Sum (Chicken), which comes with sweet and sour soy sauce dips.
The aromatic, crisp-coated, succulent prawns is deep fried extremely skillfully and if you doused with a umami-rich dipping sauce that you’d want to sparkling all over your mouth when you chew.
The Diced Chicken in Thai Basil Curry is proof that Asian curries are a forte here — the mild flavour, clean-tasting and not overly herbaceous as some Chinese curries can be.
For dessert, get the Deep Fried Crispy China that is both delightfully sticky as it is crispy.

Aura is one of the restaurants of the esteemed Sonnet Hotel based nearby City Center 1, Saltlake – Sector 1. This was my 2nd visit to them over the past few years and I truly enjoyed both these visits!
Since we were pretty hungry, we could not afford a smooth approach to our meal – Soups, followed by starters, followed by main course, side dishes, followed by desserts, mocktails in between ……….. We went for the mains right away!
Ordered the following:-
(i) Amritsari Paneer Makhani - Cottage cheese cubes marinated and cooked in tandoor and simmered in rich tomato gravy, served with a choice of steamed rice – an excellent combo meal!
(ii) Breads basket – variety assorted Indian breads prepared in tandoor - comprising 1 pc each phulka, lachcha paratha, naan and kulcha – all were duly made and went pretty well with the paneer above!
Quantity served is good and we were filled up to the brim after having the above! Quality served is decent, so is food presentation!
They served complimentary papads and onion salads also – a must for an enhanced gastronomic experience!
Service and ambience is fine, although, prices are very high – considering this is a 4-star property!

Located at a stones throw distance from City Center, Salt Lake, Aura can be found at the 1st floor of the four star property, Sonnet.
Aura has always welcomed and hosted 'baro masher tero parbon' and so this time too its all ready to make our December even more better with their quality of food and their service.
We opted for the lunch buffet. The spread was really amazing.
We started off with SPICY LENTIL SOUP and then moved on with some starters like CHEESE and JALAPEÑO NUGGETS, TERIYAKI FISH, PANEER SASHLIK, DRAGON ROLL. After enjoying the amazing starters we tried some maincourses like ROAST TURKEY, MUTTON BIRYANI, SLICE FISH in CHILLY HONEY SAUCE, BRITISH STYLE RED JUS, PUMPKIN CAULIFLOWER CASSEROLES as well as some Chinese and North Indian dishes such as PANEER LAZEEZ, BHARWA MIRCH ka SALAN, DAAL QURESHI, SHANGHAI STYLE ASIAN VEG, VEG PULAO etc... We opted for some desserta like BAKED GAJAR ka HALWA, BROWNIE in CHOCOLATE LAVA, GULKAND MOUSSE, YULE LOG, CHRISTMAS PUDDING etc...
Other than what we had the buffet also has a LIVE COUNTER where you can have your dishes customized for you at your table.
Our experience at Sonnet has always been great and this time too we left with a big smile and a happily filled stomach.
I'd seriously recommend everyone to drop by and enjoy this amazing and filling Buffet with their family and friends!

Aura is a fine dine located near Salt Lake City Centre 1 as a part of The Sonnet- A 4 star property. With soothing ambience and classy décor, this place is a great for dining with your friends and family.
Now coming to the food, the restaurant serves boasts of their multi-cuisine menu, with delectable selection of dishes, all nicely cooked by their talented chefs. This Christmas, they invite everyone on this food journey by presenting a grand buffet with a huge array of dishes.
The meal starts with a refreshing welcome drink, rosemary citrus spitzer, which is basically sweet orange juice with a lemony tangy twist with a refreshing yet subtle rosemary essence.
In soup, they served two different varieties, one a healthy soup the Spicy Lentil and Pumpkin Soup and the other a soupy yet delightful version of Murgh Badami shorba.
Bread Counter consisted with Freshly baked breads to be enjoyed with a hearty bowl of soup. The selection consisted of Lavash, Pita, Baguette Breadsticks and many more.
Continuing with their healthy section of the menu, coming to the salads. The salad selection consisted of Indian lip-smacking chaats such as Aloo Papri Chaat; Sweet and tangy, everyone’s favourite, Waldorf Salad; Spicy Som Tum Salad; Healthy and hearty grilled vegetable salad; My personal favourite Chicken Tikka and Caramelised Onion Salad and the classic Dahi Bhalla.
Appetizers – The Appetizers consisted of a delightful spread of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian selections such as Peshawari Tandoori Murgh, succulent pieces of chicken with a smoky and spicy taste; Prawn and Olive skewers which is perfect for the chilly winters; Pan-fried Teriyaki; cheese and jalapeno nuggets, dragon roll, Seekh gilafi kebab etc.
Veg selection of main course consisted of Beetroot crêpe in cheese saffron sauce, Pumpkin and Cauliflower casserole, Shanghai style Asian veg; the Non- vegetarian selection consisted of Mutton Biryani and Murgh Tikka Parda Bemisal; Roast chicken in Red wine Jus, Sliced fish tossed on Honey-chilli sauce and the one dish without which any Christmas meal cannot be called complete is Roasted Turkey.
To go along with these main courses, Steamed Rice, Vegetable Pulao and Hong Kong noodles were served.
Dessert spread boasted of Baked Gajar ka Halwa, a must in winter; Brownie in hot chocolate sauce, Gulkand flavoured mousse, Yule log, Christmas special Triffle, Fresh cut fruits and Ice-Cream in a variety of flavours to choose from.
My experience at the Aura-The Sonnet was absolutely amazing and their hospitality and welcoming nature really made my lunch much more memorable and I would definitely recommend all to give them an opportunity to serve you.

They have both options of Buffet & Ala Carte according to one’s preference. The pleasant and classy decor of the interiors are quite impressive along with cosy seating arrangements. The Buffet spread includes with mouthwatering Indian, Oriental & Continental cuisines, and also serving lavish Breakfast Buffet. They have a wide range of Veg & Non-Veg options one would fall for. 😋
One can surely dive into their tempting Buffet section and satisfy their cravings because the taste and quality being absolutely fantastic.

Aura is an authentic buffet restaurant which serves 100% tasty and delicious dishes .The place is very highly maintained here.Best quality of food served here .Price is little high according to quantity of the food.We tried pasta ,chicken roast, lemon soda , and ..which roundly cost bit high...which all are tastes awesome 😋😋 the #starterkabab ( resmi chicken kabab) and #chowmin was just finger licking good .then comes the dessert 🤩 and chocolate , sondesh, butterscotch scoop was just mouthwatering 👌staff behaviour was nice and polite .Overall if you love hangout 💙 you must give a visit to this place.The interior decoration and romantic music is just superb. The popularity of this restaurant and its food, especially biryani, has skyrocketed in recent times. It has been expanding agressively. Service is real quick and the restaurant can be easily reached from anywhere in Kolkata. If you are looking to have light food, try the paktuni kebab and nimbuwali mahi tikka.
Surprised to learn that mine is the first review of Aura at Google. Over the past year, this place has become the Go To restaurant for a lot of us bloggers. Part of the credit should go to the brilliant management and kitchen team.
Visited for family gathering. Location is superb being near the saltlake city center. Ambiance was good , staff were helpful but food needs improvement.
Really love the place food was good too. I really love there dessert. Service is also upto the mark.
