Superbly impressed with what they have done with swabhumi, though I feel they could have incorporated elements from swabhumi in rajkutir such as the flea market etc. Anyway the restaurant was extremely beautiful as was the entire property. The service too was exceptional.
Coming to the food , we felt that there was a serious lack of options, nonetheless we ordered a fair bit and every dish was exceptional. There were however 2 downsides to the food. Firstly, their quantities were quite disappointing, almost heart wrenching. And secondly and the biggest reason for a rating of 4 despite loving everything about the place, they had no breads! Just luchi and tawa paratha. This is not expected at a place with 5 star prices.
Anyway I hope things change post the pandemic. The food is good but prices are steep . Will review each dish at a later stage

This is a beautiful place. The moment you enter the place, your mood lightens. Thumps up for the decor. The staffs are cooperative and friendly. Next coming to the food, not the best, but good. They were quite tasty. I definitely want to mention the dessert which i loved, the baked Alaska.

We went for a special bday lunch and I must say in this pandemic situation their service is just awesome, the staffs are very friendly and helpful, food was awesome, only the drinks we ordered was not so good. Everything was proper hygiene mentained. The restaurant view was great and we were the only visitors that time so we had a great time.
They arranged a brownie as a complementary dessert as it was a bday lunch😍
My only suggestion is arrange a fan at the entrance so that the security feel a little comfortable🙂
Otherwise it’s great 👍
Would love to visit some other time in future!

East India Room is the restaurant in the Raajkutir complex within Swabhumi.
Right from entry, the experience is different from that of a usual restaurant in a hotel. Set out at the far end of a courtyard, the ambience of the place is reminiscent of colonial architecture and interiors, with neoclassical furniture, but maintained to perfection unlike some of the real colonial era clubs of Kolkata.

The speciality of the house seems to be Indian dishes with a European twist, which I would like to fancy that the khansamas might have concocted for their European masters; but I wouldn’t vouch for it as I am not a food historian. But what was on table was delectable.
The Jali Kabab and Dhakai Morog Pulao were new experiences; Mutton Dak Bunglow was delectable. Nevertheless, Lobster Thermidor was as mundane as served in many other places. The vegetarians in family were equally appreciative of their food.
The staff was extremely courteous and made the whole experience a memorable one: right from the beginning we appreciated being allowed to sit where we chose, helping in selecting the dishes suiting members of family with diverse taste and restrictions and finally arranging a special exit route which was easier than the usual front entrance.
I wish to return soonest.

This place is a part of Raajkutir boutique hotel and all about looks, class and elegance..You'll get an absolutely jamidarbari or rajgharana like feeling while being here..Starting from the entrance to the indoor seating, the lawn, the outside seating..everything will give you the same feel..I absolutely loved all the gestures they made while taking us inside, welcome us and the way they served us.
Regarding food, they are too much expensive,Quantity was also less if compared to the price range but whatever food we ordered was absolutely delicious..We had meat jali kebab,Murgh pulao,Oal korma and Raajkutir special desert..Everything tasted superb and came with a nice garnishing.
This place is absolutely photogenic..Must visit if you love exploring such beautiful places..!

Such a lovely place to have lunch. This place is resplendent with the vibe of a bygone "bonedi" era in Calcutta. The hotel has a huge space right in the middle with trees around it. The restaurant itself gives an amazing experience of the Bengali platter. The chingri macher malai kari and mutton (so-good-that-the-meat-came-off-the-bone) went really well with the basanti polao. I would personally recommend the mutton spring roll or something like that which I ordered (can't recall). It was delicious. There's a little room for improvement in the desserts (personal view) but the taste was good and is recommended. Service was prompt and fast. The sous chef personally came to ask if we liked what was served and the answer, quite obviously, was a big yes. Definitely would love to visit this place again.

Soak into the colonial hangover once more in style. The menu is a curated one hence not too lengthy...just selected items...the main course items have common bengali delicacies but I gave them a pass I wanted to taste something unique so selected the darjeeling tea tossed beckti fillet and loved it. The jali mutton kebab is just about Ok..quality of lamb is good. Prices are around 650 plus...I would recommend having a cup of tea here...nicely presented on a wooden tray with a glass tea pot,cup and whole arrangement was a complete feel good. Desserts include monte carlo, caramel custard, misti doi, rosogolla, ice cream if you like. There is a selection of alcohol available ask gor it separately. This space would sit around 40 people. Shout out to the staff coutesy...appreciate it. I really wish for a nice chicken omlet, toasts and pancake in the menu please if possible!

Part of the IHCL Rajkutir, a reason we went in. Food is pan bengali and has options on chicken, mutton and bhetki. No other fish options are there. Dish sides are comprehensive and illusive.

For an authentic bengali culinary experience amidst the setting of a zamindar mansion this resort is aptly named 'Raajkuthir'. The food is just heavenly and very ethnic. The vibes of the restaurant, named East India Room are very bright, sunny and energetic. The decor is very tastefully done and the setting gives one a feel of the colonial era. The staff are very courteous and take very good care of the guests. We were in luck as there was a live folk artist performance in the dining area. Overall a splendid experience.

Fine dining, extraordinary service and decor. Heritage setting to the max. A fitting place for a farewell lunch before heading to the Netaji airport. Unforgettable flavors, classic Bengali techniques and dishes. Smoked bhetki starter is a must try. An experience worth remembering forever

The food quality is too good. Behavior of head chef is awesome. He personally attended all the people who came to eat there. He was humble and also communicated very politely about the food and process of cooking. The mouthwatering bengali dishes captured the mind and left a happy vibe.

We had the pleasure of dining at the East India Room in Rajkutir recently, and it was an extraordinary experience. Chef Biswajit's creations were nothing short of amazing. His cooking skills, attention to detail, and warm hospitality made our visit truly memorable. We're already looking forward to our next visit!
