I am writing this review after my 2nd time visit in Riyasat and ofcourse 1st time after lockdown. During my first time visit (just after opening of the restaurant), I have ordered Murgh Malai Majithia, Gondhoraj Bhekti - Zamin Doz, Mardana Murgh & Roti. All items were excellent except Mardana Murgh. I loved the Bhetki Item. I am recommending Gondhoraj Bhekti,Zamin Doz this dish to everyone. It's Riyasat Signature Dish also.
Now come to my unlock 4.0 experience. Gondhoraj Bhekti Zamin Doz item was not available this time. So I have ordered only Murgh Malai Majithia as starter. Then I have ordered Roti, Naan & Patiala Tawa Kukad. Naan was the best among these dishes. Roti was good as usual. Patiala Tawa Kukad was good also. It was better than Mardana Murgh. So it tastes better to me.
I love their decoration always. This time also I have got the same seat. So I loved it more.
Above all, courteous staffs and delicious dishes are their main USP.

Never forget to try there Dal Makhani, Panner Dhunaar Tulsi, Fish Kairi and Balushahi Balai Tukda... These are particularly amazing and you will love it for sure...
Nothing to say much about the ambience of the place... It is beautiful... As I said it's a mix of Royalty in a Modernize format... Seat, relax, enjoy, feel and eat...
Also I need not to mention anything about the service... It's a Speciality Group of Restaurants property... To them Customer Satisfaction is the ultimate goal... So need not to worry about...

Enjoy the Best of Riyasat – A curated set thali with the finest of royal offerings.!

A fine dining ecstasy, Riyasat transcends all notions of culinary delicacies to portray the picture of royal traditions, a celebration to picture the history of Northwest Frontier. A tribute to the legacy of the erstwhile Maharajas and the royal families, every step here is a staircase to relive the history and charm of the spirited techniques and traditions, with the décor being very much reminiscent of the stately homes of the royal families. Knitted delicately through care and precision, the dishes here are beyond modern day contemplation, with a touch of finesse and perfection, to bring out the healthy way of fine dining, yet using the flavours and nostalgia from the past.

With so many pleasantries to offer, what’s better than a meal, to celebrate the best of Riyasat? Planned carefully by the expert chefs here, the Best of Riyasat brings the finest of all dishes, served as a thali with fixed proportions. Get the experience of a lifetime, with flavours tickling your tastebuds, nostalgia gushing down your veins and a satisfaction clinging on to your palette, the finest of ingredients which are used will rest assured give you an experience that you will never forget. The portion size, more than enough to satiate your tummy, there could not have been a better deal to treat yourself, after a day’s hard work.

A seven-course lunch served from Monday to Friday, both the vegetarian and non-vegetarian thalis start with Timatar Tulsi Shorva, a thick counterpart of the delicate and flavourful tomato soup, tampered with roasted country tomatoes, basil and pine nuts. The vegetarian offering gets followed by Aloo Soya tikki, which has pan fried soya potatoes with ginger, chillies and curries chickpeas and Paneer Dhuandar Tulsi, an exotic preparation having tandoor roasted curd cheese with basil-chilli yoghurt, both coming with one portion each. The non-vegetarian thali comes with Fish Kairi, having tandoor roasted bhetki with preserved mango and carom seed nuts.

For the maincourse, the Shab Degh Dal Makhani finds its common place in both the thalis, a delicate and a preparation made with high precision, relish the slow cooked Dal Makhani with a completely new experience on every single spoon. The Paneer Hari Miri upped the expectations, but what stole my heart was Subz Khaas, a fine preparation with mushrooms, baby corn, broccoli, fresh greens, cherry tomatoes tampered with coriander, bay leaves and peppercorns. The non-vegetarian thali did not fall much behind, with Patiala Tawa Murgh having griddle roasted chicken, pickled ginger-onion, fenugreek, hand-pounded spices, coriander roots and yogurt.

This was accompanied with Ambada Alu Roast, a delicate prearation with pot roasted baby potatoes and a spicy and tangy version of pickled roselle leaves. Both the maincourse in each of the thalis came with Roti or Naan, cumin peas pulao, green salad, roasted lentil papad and a Balushahi Balai Tukda to end the meal. The dessert, a royal ending to a fine meal, this dish is inspired by Bahadur Shah Zafar’s favorite sweet toast, and comprises of delicate rabdi, topped on Balushahi, with almonds and pistachios sprinkled on the top, and a gold leaf to surmise the royal notion. With a price point of Rs. 695/- + tax, there wouldn’t be a better offering, to take you to a trip to the royal land.

Glance through the glorious royal past of India & savour delectable North Indian dishes with a modern twist @ Riyasat, South City Mall.!

With its literal translation meaning to estate or kingdom, Riyasat situated in South City Mall is the newest addition in the culinary scenes of Kolkata. With a sprawling area, which leads to almost 3000 sq. ft, this place is all about tasting the finest food from the different ‘Riyasat’ across the length and breadth of the country. Expect a gourmet experience like no other place, the food served here is on ala-carte basis, unlike some of the counterparts of Speciality groups like Flame & Grill and Sigree, where the food is available in buffet style.

The décor here is noteworthy. As you enter, you seem to realize the elegance and subtlety of this place, including the comfortable velvety sitting and the elephant work on display. The food here is carefully crafted, mostly in collaboration with Chef Surjan Singh Jolly. The improvisations or the personal touch attributed to the dishes served here are quite subtle, so as to retain the originality of the dish. We started off with a tomato-based soup, named here as Timatar Tulsi Shorva Chilgoza. Chilgoza is a pine nut, loaded with antioxidants, which helps improve the good cholesterol levels in the body.

Native to the north-western Himalayas, the health benefits of these nuts are immense. The country tomatoes used here were first roasted, and then flavoured with basil and chilgoza pine nuts. Just like Shorba, the soup served here was slightly thick. For starters, we tried the Murgh Malai Majithia, which was basically boneless chicken roasted and grilled in tandoor oven, with a margination of cream cheese and carefully selected aromatic spices. The highlight here was the use of coriander root, which is a specialty from the Majithia region in Punjab, and hence the name.

Next to come in starters was Fish Kairi, which had tandoor roasted fish with preserved green mangoes and a rub of carom seeds. The use of carom seeds attributed a slight bitter taste, with this being balanced by the tartness from the green mangoes. The taste here was complex, creating ripples of different flavours in the mouth. This place has good offerings for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, and in a few cases, we preferred the vegetarian preparations more. The Kachchi Haldi Phool had cauliflowers mixed with greens like spring onions ans others, turmeric, sundried pomegranate and pickled ginger.

For those sinned with their immense love for potatoes, the Ambada Aloo Roast was a sheer delight. This had roasted baby potatoes, with a sharp lemon taste. This was due to the presence of pickled roselle leaves, which imparted the strong lemony taste. The pickling added a slight acidity to the baby potatoes, and paired well with the green peas cumin pulao. For non-vegetarian, the highlights were the Patiala Tawa Murgh, which had griddle roasted chicken, tossed with fenugreek, coriander roots, hand-pounded spices, yogurt and pickled ginger-onions.

Those who prefer fish, can try the Bhetki Zamin Doz, which was a wonderful and delicate preparation of baked fish with chillies and gondhoraj lime. All these delicacies were coupled and paired with lachcha paratha, naan, warki parathas and green peas cumin pulao. The desserts here deserve a special mention, with the likes of baked yoghurts, served with fresh fruits and Nolen Gurer Sondesh puff. The last one is a killer, with soft, warm and crispy pastries filled with gooey and flavourful nolen gur sondesh, and served with nolen gurer ice-cream. A sheer gastronomy, this one single preparation is enough to bring me back to this culinary wonderland.

Experience a royal affair at Riyasat !!
Their master chefs have brought together “BEST OF RIYASAT” with a special Veg and Non-Veg set menu during Weekdays (Mon to Fri) for lunch. The cost of seven course meal (Veg or non veg) is 695+ Tax.

Riyasat, a luxurious fine dine restaurant is located at South City Mall, Kolkata. Their ambiance has a touch of royalty. The huge dining area is really well decorated. They are following all sorts of safety and hygiene protocols in the restaurant. All the staffs are wearing gloves and masks while making food and serving it to guests.

The menu of Best of Riyasat is :-

Tamatar Tulsi Sohorya
Aloo Soya Tikki OR [Murgh Malai Majithia] (1 pc)
Paneer Dhunaar Tulsi OR [Fish Kairi] (1 pc)
Shab Degh Dal Makhani
Paneer Harimiri OR [Patiala Tawa Murgh]
Subz Khaas OR [Ambada Aloo Roast]
Roti / Naan
Cumin Peas Pulao
Green Salad
Roasted Lentil Papad
Balushahi Balai Tukda

We started with the shoroya, which was so good and the flavour of tamatar and tulsi was so rich , which was impressive. Both the veg and non veg starters were amazing. The fish kairi was so soft and juicy that it melts inside your mouth as soon it goes into it. The aloo soya tikki was unique and really delicious. Murgh malai majithia and paneer dhunaar tulsi were my favourite. The quality of paneer was so good and the spices were mixed really well. Do try the murgh malai too, it was fantastic too.
For main course , the combo of Dal makhani and naan was the perfect one. The patiala tawa murgh was made and presented so beautifully that makes you fall in love with it. The thick and rich gravy was the best. The Subz khaas was also good and rich in flavour. Ambada aloo roast had the authentic flavour of North Indian cuisines. The paneer harimiri went great with the peas pulao. The combo was superb. The pulao was really unique and made perfectly to go with every side dishes they served.
Last but not the least, we ended our meal with their famous Balushahi Balai Tukda. It was served with their in-house rabri on top. It was really wonderful. That was indeed a royal dessert.

Overall experience was superb. Really impressed with the taste of food and their excellent service. A highly recommended place for all for a luxury dining experience and at an affordable price.

The restaurant is conveniently located on the 3rd floor of the Southcity mall, had to wait for 10 mins for a table since it was a Sunday so that is quiet acceptable. The staffs are super friendly and know their job well. Our server was very much equipped with the food handling knowledge and made sure we had a comfortable experience.

Ordered kebab because as soon as I entered the aroma of the char grilled kebab made me go for it along with a beer. Got bhatti ka chooza as suggested by our server, the meat was tender and juicy and had a balance of all the masalas and nothing was over powering.

For main course ordered a biryani which was riyasati gost dum biryani, the aroma of the biryani was good and the quantity and pieces of mutton were of adequate size. It came with a side of Dahi ki chutney which was an alternative to the traditional raita and that swooped me off my feet, hungcurd with spring onions and garlic was spot on and made me ask for some extra for take away. I personally found the biryani a bit on the saltier side which after talking to their staff I came to know that Lucknowee biryani is ideally cooked in that manner. Nevertheless, I think it can be of an acquired taste.

For dessert, we got Chocolate mawa cake which was basically a choco fondant with vanilla icecream. Cake had a gooey centre filled with “chocolate kalakand” topped with pecan nuts. The dessert was good as for guy with sweet tooth I guess this was a cherry on top.

Overall, I am happy with my experience of Riyasat specially for their service which gives you a feel of a fine dining and also the staffs.

Riyasat has recently introduced with their "Best of Riyasat" seven course lunch menu. The price of the brunch is 695+GST for both veg & non-veg option. This menu is available on Monday to Friday at lunch time only.
This restaurant has the touch of royalty and hints of rich heritage of india. This place has a glamorous interior & elegant decoration that impressed me. From the elephant painting done on the wall to The antique style wall mirrors reflects the royal ambiance of this place. This restaurant is located at the 3rd floor of South City Mall.
Murgh malai majithia was so tender and juicy are bursting with flavor. This Dal makhani was so delicious, this dish gets its richness from the use of huge amount of butter. Another creamy mild spicy Patiala tawa murgh perfectly paired with cumin peas Pulao. Balushahi is a Indian sweet made up of using flour, ghee, and yogurt. This sweet is crispy from outside and has a soft and flaky texture from inside. This balushahi topped with rabri and I loved it most among the whole brunch.

Riyasat is all about the taste of royalty ,worldliness, deliciousness and fulfilment. Speciality Restaurants has gifted the city of joy 'Riyasat' , which is located at the 3rd floor of South City Mall. The aura of this place is absolutely astounding.

Riyasat has come up with their 7 course Veg/ Non veg meal for one person which is available from Monday- Friday lunch at only 695+ taxes.

Timatar Tulsi Shorva :- The preparation of Shorba dates back to Persian times. It is basically a spiced Indian tomato soup , served with crispy croutons .

Murgh Malai Majithia :- Murgh Malai Tikka is chicken marinaded and cooked and covered in yoghurt, cheese, coriander and chilli. It was really good.

Fish Kairi :- Perfectly cooked fish kebabs served with green chutney and salad. It was very soft.

Shab Degh Dal Makhani :- Shab' means night and 'Deg' means a large cooking vessel. In local parlance, 'Shab Deg' means a special dish that is cooked through the night to bring it to the right flavour and thickness. Dal Makhani is one of the most popular lentil recipes from the North Indian Punjabi cuisine made with whole Black Lentils. Here it was outstanding. Had it with a piece of Naan.

Patiala Tawa Murgh :- A perfect side dish to have with roti or naan. It was terrific ! The chicken pieces were very soft and the gravy was outstanding.

Ambada Aloo Roast :- It was good. A good veg side dish after a long time ! Whooah !!! 😍😍😍

Cumin Peas Pulao :- (Peas Pulao) - Basmati rice cooked with green peas and whole spices like cardamom, cloves & cumin seeds. I had it with Patiala Murgh ! ❤️❤️❤️

Balushahi Balai Tukda :- A perfect ending of this beautiful meal. Balushahi is a traditional dessert originating from the Indian subcontinent. It is basically made with ghee , maida and sugar.

Please do visit Riyasat and experiece the royalty of this place.

A truly royalty inspired dining experience 🍽 Went here for dinner with my family on the occasion of my mother's birthday! Firstly, the interiors are well designed, giving off the royal ambiance vibes! One great thing that must be mentioned here is the menu card. It had all the information regarding ingredients being possible allergens(glutten/milk products). It would a help a lot for people with specific food intolerance. Coming to the food, all the recipes are royal cuisine inspired, and so were their names! We had chicken, 2 types of bhetki, and lamb for starters, and Riyasati Mutton biryani and Warki paratha for the main course with a couple of chmutton sides. The bhetki preparations stood out for us, particularly the aam ada bhetki, it was so soft and white! Service was great, the waiters were courteous and intimated appropriate wait times while ordering itself. Had an amazing experience overall, would recommend checking this out if you're hunting for a good dinner experience in town 😀

Good vibes, decent food and some unique drinks. Bhatti ka chooza is decent and meets the expectations. Gilawat rogani roti is unbelievably tender and melts in mouth. Their Riyasati dum biryani was a little bland for a biryani and made me a little disappointed since it is one of their specialties. Mukhvas, a vodka based litchi drink stands out both in presentation and taste. Overall, it’s a great experience and would recommend this place.

Location: 3rd floor of South City Mall Ambience: Tastefully decorated, good space between tables. Filtered drinking water available. Service: Just ok, not very attentive, need to call them to get some service. Ordered: Best Of Riyasat Nonveg Thali Rs 995 consisting of: * Crisps with variety dips: dips of spicy tomato, pudina, yogurt, mango pickle. Nice start to the meal. * Bhatti ka Chooza(chicken): boneless kebab with Punjabi Mugga spices, quite tender and medium spicy, taste was good. * Shikanje ka Murg(chicken): boneless kebab with Guntur chillies and curry leaves, excellent taste, the best of the starters. * Bhekti Roll(fish): bhekti fish with ginger and green chillies crumb fried, was quite hot and spicy, did not like it. * Safed Murgh(chicken): boneless chicken in gravy of Mathania chillies and yogurt, little spicy, had a creamy texture, very good taste. * Lal Maas(mutton): mutton pieces in fiery red thin gravy, more spicy but not too much, lacked the distinctive flavour, mutton was a little less than tender but ok, taste was average. * Lasooni Palak: spinach mash with carrots, corn, peas. Nice balance of spices, smooth texture, excellent taste. * Thikri Dal: arhar dal with hing, nice smooth texture, perfectly cooked, very good taste. * Mawa Pista Halwa(dessert): mashed sweet carrots with milk cake and pista. Creamy texture, not too sweet, excellent end of meal dish. * Butter Naan and Peas Pulao: both were very nice. Overall, a very satisfying lunch. Good range of items with different tastes. Highly recommended!
