I will simply reiterate what others have said here. Being a Biriyani lover is one thing. Then there are a few (like me and my whole family) who are Biriyani snob. And there are a very few who can absolutely satisfy a Biriyani snob. And then came #HaanDBiriyani to conquer them all. Undoubtedly the #BestBiriyani of #Kolkata. This is an absolute must have if you love Biriyani. The aroma, the taste, the exact proportion and mix of spices and herbs, the tender mutton and chicken pieces which can be eaten entirely with a spoon and fork creates a wonderful magic which cannot be described in words. It does not matter if you have it with hands either. Believe me, you do NOT need soap to wash your hands after you finish, it's that light. Their rates are also extremely reasonable and to my experience less than a few so called "big shots". Thanks a lot Indrajit and Abhijit Sarkar for this wonderful effort. The Biriyani and the Chicken Chaap was heavenly. Though this is not my first time, but I must admit again and again this is the best Biriyani I ever had. Keep mesmerizing people with your food.

One of the best biryanis I have ever had! The mutton was tender and well spiced in the biryani and chicken chaap was absolutely delicious. The food was the main highlight in my birthday party and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Thank you! Way to go... Highly recommend the food!!!

Want some healthy biryani? Yes you heard it right... healthy biryani. HaanDBiryani is one of the best biryani you will have in Kolkata.
Accompaning the biryani they have the best shammi kebab and chicken chap. They are the first place to show the nutritional value on the biryani packets which are quite interesting.
Light on oil and spices good for people of all ages... a must try out place

**This is a takeaway review.

**Food- I ordered for-
•Mutton Biryani (Rs.250)- a box full of aromatic rice, a big piece of potato & soft juicy mutton. The rice was not too oily, which is a major plus point of this biryani. A big fat thumbs up for its quality & quantity.

Our never ending quest to taste biryani from various joints brought us to Haan D Biryani, and we were not let down at all.
It was a friend's birthday and keeping the social distancing & hygene factor in mind, we went for the well packaged biryanis offered by Haan D Biryani.
The taste was great. The mutton just melted in the mouth and the aroma was mind blowing.
I personally believe that a good biryani should not be a burden on your stomach and should not require any soap to clean the hand. Running water should be enough to clean your hands and prove that the biryani is good.
This is exactly what I experienced and was overwhelmed.
Great taste, good portion size, hygenic packaging and value for money sums up the experience. Cheers !!

I've been a Biryani connoisseur all my life. We ordered the mutton special biryani and this has to be one of the most underrated biryanis in town. The long grain rice, the natural aroma and no artificial colors added with juicy chunks of meat. When we washed our hands afterwards, no dalda! Great work Haan D

Amazing biryani without the guilt of eating too much fat. The aroma and look was as great as the taste. Will order whenever unable to cook, as my friends love my cooking the most.😊

Got some biriyani from a takeaway joint at AJC bose road. It is the lightest version of Biriyani I had compared to other biriyani's as they use oil instead of dalda.
It comes in sealed boxes which contain a succulent piece of mutton along with a soft aloo which is mandatory in a biriyani..

For me their low fat biryani currently the best Kolkata biryani. Along the lines of Arsalan biryani but without the grease and strong essence. Goes down very easy on the tummy. Have it everytime I come to the city and pack some more to take back

After having heard a lot of good reviews about this place finally I got to try it last week Thanks to swiggy long-distance delivery service. We got 3 Biriyani (Mutton n Chicken) , 1 Chicken Chaap and 1 Mutton Shammi Kebab Chaap style delivered at home. To start with, I must say every item was delicious. After a long time we got the taste of ghee in Chaap, instead of using meat fat like regular places. Each box of biriyani had a generous portion of rice, a very well cooked good quality potato n meat. Chicken Chaap was also good, but my favorite was Mutton Shammi Kebab. Would love to order again and definitely recommend to try.

Haan ‘D’ Biryani => Offering a true contribution to the culinary lineage of Kolkata.! While there are theoretical and ideological differences as to the origin and etymology of the word concerned, the very essence of Biryani, rather remains undisputed and uncontested. Undoubtedly a one-pot meal, much like the Pulao, but with a much higher usage of spices and a greater sophistication of flavours. Legends dispute whether the true meaning arise from the concept of the dish being ‘fried’ or rather this being an exemplified dish made out of rice, the exact origin and foundation of the dish rather goes unanswered. The culinary history of Kolkata however, owes its gratitude to its much Awadhi lineage, and forms as a direct descendant of the Lucknowi Biryani and hence contributes to much of our gastronomic voyage. With a sharp contrast to the variations of Biryani found down South, our version is much fluffier and simpler, yet has a greater sophistication of spices. Potato gradually became an indispensable part of this Biryani, which again credits to two different facts to Wajid Ali Shah; one being potato being a much cheaper alternative to add on to the shortage of meat to feed the huge number of soldiers in the then Awadhi army, while the other notion leads to potato being a much expensive crop in the earlier days, and this being something the Nawab could easily afford as a show of aristocracy. He was perhaps the highest earning pensioner in the-then days, and contributed much of that amount in the upkeeping of his private zoo, something which we now popularly regard as the Alipore Zoo. With the struggle of trying to be health-conscious, it is indeed hard to come up with a form of Biryani which looks good and tastes good at the same time, and in this current world of keeping up to the taste palettes of the ever-hungry appetites, Haan ‘D’ Biryani is one name which I can gladly suggest to everyone. While you do have some of the popular and renowned names as a permanent resort to upkeep to our moods and tastebuds, Haan-D Biryani is doing a great job of matching the flavours to our expectations. With the use of the long grain rice, they ensure that the final outcome comprises of a long and fluffier version, oozing out with flavours. The oil count is kept at bare minimum, but even with the low calory content, they do an amazing job in keeping the filled with moisture. Talk about old schools of dining at some of the legendary joints, and I can barely keep with a Biryani as dry as the sand in a dessert. The potato adds on the charm by sucking in most of the moisture and aroma, and excels on top of the aromatic rice. The Mutton portion served, was perhaps one of the best in the market. The meat literally fell off from the bones, and with size that big, the price charged for this Biryani rather looked as a good buck for the earning. Pairing the flavourful Biryani up with their luscious, juicy and sinful Chicken Chaap was rather a match made in heaven. The Chaap was moist and succulent, with again the meat easily falling off the bone. The Chicken was perhaps fried to light and golden brown, and then simmered on top of the gravy. Clearly gave an edge over the places reluctantly throwing off the meat on to the gravy, before frying them to perfection. The gravy was rich, but not too filling. The subtle concoction of poppy seeds and cashew paste along with the curd gave the gravy its texture, and stood as a perfect accompaniment to the rich and subtle Biryani. Their Shami Kebabs also excel among their customers, and stands next in line of my tryouts. They are open for takeaway and delivery via Swiggy Genie. Do give them a try if you want a change of flavour, perhaps for the very best! #biryani #mughlai #kolkatabiryani #potato #muttonbiryani #chickenbiryani #muttonchaap #chickenchaap #shamikebab #haandbiryani #whenstomachtickles

I had been hearing about Haan-D- Biryani from my colleagues for quote some time and few days back finally decided to order from them. It was an awesome experience..Biryani was light and fantastic in taste ,unlike many others we had been having till now...It was so goo that I and my family are now hooked on to Haan- D- Biryani since then and prefer ordering from it whenever we feel like having Biryani and have also recommended many others to try. Only issue is that we have to pre-book and order directly...Ordering over Swiggy is quite cumbersome as most of the time it says " not delivering at the monent" One must try Haan-D-Biryani

Biriyani and Chaap .....just the best we had in Kolkata. Thrice got served at home in two months and look forward to more occassions. So tasty, yet so light and not a single soul felt it rich or oily. Boneless chaap is perfect match. Kudos to the team.

This time not going by the name, fame, glitz, glamour I chose to go by the reviews in Google and I tried Chicken Special Biryani and Chicken Chap with my family..to be honest, I am really very much impressed with the taste, the aroma, the softness of the rice, the tenderness of the meat and the overall quality of the Biryani they served. The most important thing is that there was no "choa dhekur" or " bodhojom" after having their dishes. I took my own vehicle to take my food from Gariahat and before reaching I was in doubt that whether my gamble would pay off or not....but I found peace as they just gave value and respect to my choice and decision. Just carry on with Your good will and open a dine in soon.

A true, classic Kolkata biryani. Very very light and subtle flavour. Some might even miss thr smell of attar. You can say this is the 180 degree opp. of the barrackpore style of spicy, greasy biryani which is so famous nowadays. I thoroughly enjoyed it and especially the quality of the mutton.

I ordered via swiggy . The biriyani was good enough . Oily and tasty . But only the Mutton shami kebab was just so spicy . And i didn't like it. It was just like the mutton and gravy version of dominos meat ball .
