Best place for the tea lovers out there. Please don"t expect any ambiance as such. A small old shop selling amazing tea and some lipsmacking snacks. Recommendations are: Fish Fry, Fish Finger, etc
.

A quintessential bengali eatery which has been in establishment for more than 90 years, Radhu Babu can be found just opposite the Lake Mall towards the parking exit.
An extremely small hole in the wall joint, this serves a very limited number of dishes, but dishes that it patrons come back frequently to relish. It just has a seating place for 8 people, but more often than not, there are triple the number of people outside, waiting for a hot cup of Radhu Babu's famous tea.
I tried their fish fry (kabiraji) and their fish fingers.
Fish Fry Kabiraji
They serve 2 types of fish fry. One the normal version and one the kabiraji version. I opted for the Kabiraji version. I felt it was extra oily and a bit overhyped. If I could show the cross section, we could see that there was chunks of fish which is supposedly vetki, but it was mostly batter with findings of condiments. It was average. Cost Rs 55.
Fish Fingers
A total of 4 fish fingers just fried came to my table next to enjoy. The fish fingers are again served with a side of salad and kasundi. Just like the kabiraji, the fish fingers felt average as well. Here the filling was a bit more than the kabiraji, however, the batter was extremely thick. As the batter stays extremely hot after fried, being thick, it was taking away from the taste of the dish. Cost Rs 65.
Tea
I am not a tea person. But loads of Kolkata people swear by their tea. I tasted it. It was very neutral tasting for a lack of better expression on my side. Price Rs 8 for a cuppa.
What amazed me the most is the efficiency of the team which runs the place. For each my order, food reached my table within 2 minutes, even during the pujo rush of sosthi! The manager was joking around with their regulars and bantering with new people such as myself. I absolutely loved it and would love to come back for that if not for the food.
An amazing experience with the food being the only let-down. The excuse for that might be during Pujas it is a given that food served will not be the usual standards.
I hope to change my food rating during my next visit.
Awesome place for Kabiraji chicken & mutton stew and also tea..Its pocket friendly and good. The only flaw is the sitting capacity its really small max 8 people can sit at a time but still the menu the quality and taste will get you to overcome this little flaw .In one word its a must visit !!
