This Bengali Cuisine restaurant is Located at Deshapriya Park approacing southern avenue.
The ambience resembling old takurbari concept as prevalant during Rabindranath Tagore times.
Ordered:-
📌Plain Rice - Served in a bowl with fine basmati rice. 3 quarter bowl sufficient for 1 person.
📌Chapor Ghonto- cooked with 9 vegetables. The secret of cooking here is that as mentioned by the chef is that 9 different vegetable, namely brinjal, beans, lady's finger, potato, gourd are cooked sepately and then mixed together, then lentils are spread as toppings. One of the favourite dish of rabindranath tagore. Taste just blew my mind. It's better to have it exclusively with rice without Dal else u will not be able to understand the taste.
📌Moong Dal with fish head- Nothing to specify about this dish as it's the bengalis favorite dish. Taste was up to the mark.
📌Kochu pata Bata chingri-
It was cooked with Kochu pata mashed along with mustard oil spread over the dish and small pieces of bagda Chingri. Total 6 big pieces were there. It's very difficult to express in words how excellent the taste was and would go perfect with plain rice only.
📌Mango Chutney & Papad.
One of my favourite bengali restaurants to dine in... Had ordered gondhoraj limbu sherbet, ilish paturi, luchi, mangsho diye dal, mutton kasha, mochar shammi kabab and bhetki fry... All items were really lip smaking and tasty... Definitely recommend to those who crave authentic bangali cuisine..

Few days ago I visited this outlet with my friends.Kolkata’s one of the best Bengali restaurant serves you a great deal of food items to binge on, and make your day, a fantastic one. Kopai is easy to locate as it is situated, just opposite to the Sarat Bose Post Office in Southern Avenue. The restaurant is well decorated with quotes and pictures of Rabindranath Tagore. You can feel the vibes of Santiniketan. We tried various delicious items- Doi gondhoraj lebur sorbot, Mochar shammi kebab, karaisutir pulao, kochupata vapa chingri, mangser kassa and mixed chutney. All of the above items were delicious. I personally like their Doi gondhoraj lebur sorbot and mochar shammi kebab. I loved every bite of mochar shammi kebab with a sip of doi gondhoraj lebur sorbot.

The ambience of the restaurant was excellent. We ordered mixed fried rice, mixed hakka nodules, chilli chicken, and fresh lime soda. All of the items tasted excellent. The only gray area was the waiting time which was more than an hour but it is understandable as it was Saptami night and we had a group of 20 people. Even, the Bengali dishes served to our friends tasted excellent. Overall, it was a very wonderful experience. It is a must visit restaurant if you are looking for quality food along with good portion size.
