Zabardasttt food... Super taste, approriate amount of oil and spices. Location is superb. Ambience is very family oriented and cosy. Live music adds to the feel. Hospitality is amazing. Puneet was the manager when I went and he was very humble, agile and service oriented. Would definitely recommend.

Just loved the full ambience and also the atmosphere with full 5star staff services.. Hatsoff.. No words for being so generous and humble till the moment i reach this hotel and after party leaving the hotel.. The vallet Service was to the point ( no hoch poch ) The food was just amazing big thumbsup šŸ‘ for the chef and his team... Being a Bengali , the chicken dishes was soo much too the point, like I never tasted before in my life.. And last but not the least.. Sweet Dishes..Where is the chef.. It is the best and one of my favorite place which serves authentic mughlai and awadhi cuisines at the nominal prices. The food is really really very yummy so I recommend you all if you are a non veg lover and wanna eat some mughlai cuisines. Hop in to this place once and I guarantee you will not regret. The ambience of this place is up to the mark as this is mughlai theme based. The service was very good. So overall experience was very nice.

Delicious food, soothing ambience, and great service. The staff was very friendly and warm especially Mr. Shubham Dwivedi. I went to celebrate my parentā€™s wedding anniversary and it was perfect. Must visit. Once again.... delightful food.
Anirudha Katti
Nice decent place, great food. For live music: good singers but bad choice of music...may be because of the public that usually goes there. Place this decent should have better taste in music too...

The highlight of my sojourn in Lucknow! I made the journey from Delhi just to have Awadhi dinner. Sepia was the best of all I tried. For the quality of dinner, the pricing is so much more reasonable than in Delhi. The service was excellent, too! Kudos to Pankaj, whoā€™s the floor manager, and Ramkaran, whoā€™s among the waiting staff. For reference, I had been to Tunday Kababi and Idrees Biryani for street food. Just donā€™t think they were worth the buzz. If you want properly conserved Awadhi cuisine, go nowhere else than Sepia.

Awesome Ambience with good in taste food and services...
Mallika dhanda
It was a great evening, with beautiful ghazals, tasty food and very warm service. Shubham was especially nice with apt recommendations for food. Will definitely be going there again.

Clean and good restaurant...... it's such clean that when you enter it seems like 7 star āāœØ hotel.....

Amazing Lucknowi Cuisine experience !!

First : It's a bit too expensive !!
Second : Quantity per serve is less.
Third : But that's how such restaurants are meant too be.
Good Food, though not all dishes, they were a little blunt.
They do have a good hand over Mutton dishes.
The live Music could be a bit too loud for a few.
Overall a decent enough experience.

Even though it was a speciality restaurant the vegetarians had absolutely garbage choices. Itā€™s more like what not to order. The food was absolutely bland and insipid with the exception of their dal makhani. Itā€™s basically over priced street food (read 500 plus taxes for a samosa) without any flavour. I had ordered a pea patty starter which only tasted of salt and yogurt. The main had a very dry paratha and an even drier pumpkin vegetable. The staff was borderline discourteous and did not know anything about the menu. They couldnā€™t suggest or describe anything we asked and provided slow service. Iā€™d rather not go there again. At all.

Iā€™ve always been skeptical about trying authentic Mughlai food at a high end places as Iā€™ve preferred old Lucknow when it comes to Mughlai I went to sepia for my wifeā€™s birthday and we ordered chicken korma amongst other things but to my surprise it was really good I would recommend everyone to have it it was delicious

Can give a miss.
Food spicy and below average, staff not courteous, didnā€™t expect an Indian speciality restaurant to play western pop music, just not 5 star enough for our liking !
Mayank Dayal
Two out of three stars are for the ambience of the place. The ambience is amazing. The location of the hotel is top notch.

Coming to the food and service.
The service is ordinary. With barely 15 people in the restaurant the service was extremely slow.
The food was also extremely ordinary. For a restaurant that rates itself as authentic Lucknowi cuisine, things as basic as chicken tikka was very ordinary.

Expected much more from the restaurant
Devank Rastogi
The food was good. We ordered different types of starters and typical north indian food they have maintained their food standard.
Service was a huge let down. We had to ask for papad to be served after approx 30 min of sitting down. The starter was served fine they took a long time to serve the second course and it was cold and not served properly.
The ambience of L14 is better but the singer was good.
I believe they were under staff due to which such low standards of service was given to us.
Rohan Srivastava
The food is really savoury and tasteful. I would give them 5 stars for food alone.
The service, however, is beyond pathetic. Around 10 tables were being atended by only 4 people, causing extreme delay in bringing food and also bringing in the wrong order. The staff was a bit impolite too. Getting the bill alone took 40 minutes after we were done with our meal and they brought the wrong bill. I'm really disappointed with the service and for anyone looking to have a nice carefree time, I would not recommend this place.
Vipranshu
Decent and soothing ambience with live music.food menu is limited and for preparation,I LL give 4 stars. Good place to be for family and couples!!
Samvart Prakash
Very nice ambience, food very tasty well cooked non veg... enjoyed food taste with soothing live music... it is a must visit place...good service
Anmol Dixit
Amazing place! I donā€™t live in the town but I make sure to visit it always when Iā€™m here
Food is really good! A true reflection of Lucknow cuisine - veg options are extremely good too
Veg shikampuri kebab is a classic kebab dish
Baked boondi is one of the best dessert ever

Coming to ambience and service
Thereā€™s always live music and beautiful ambience
Candle light dinner is also provided

The chef and staff is extremely courteous and helpful and interactive
Special thanks to chef Suraj , and ram and Gyanendra!

Visited this restaurant with family on a Saturday. Live music was good- melodious, not too loud and a good mix of contemporary and retro. Keep it up Deepika and Akash.
Food was also great. Gilawati kababs, a favourite dish in Awadhi cuisine, was melt-in-your-mouth and went down well with the paratha. Other dishes were also pretty good as was the service. Thank you Gyan and Vara for taking such good care of a large group.

Hello lucknowites.

This place needs no introduction as its a part of Renaissance Lucknow they don't compromise on quality.

It was my third visit to this place and hereby I'm writing this review. Not just for bloggers table but I've been here individually with my family as well and believe me the staff has always been friendly and hospitable.

Mr. Talwar the chef is brilliant.
He has depth knowledge in his field n it is clearly visible by his work.
It is a perfect place for family dinner parties.
Has a huge seating capacity n live music is been played almost everyday.
The female singer (Idk her name ) has my heart.

The last time I was here I had some authentic Rajasthani n Nizami cuisines ( Hyderabadi cuisines)

Below are the pictures attached.

Happy Eating ā¤ļø
Ankit Sahni
We waited for the starters for more than an hour.
Pages of the menu were missing. This is something we don't expect when we go to a so called 5 star.
At last food was so bad that I couldn't eat , had dinner at home and paid 4000 with a smile.

Gautam Agarwal
Best place to have dinner with sweet, slow and soothing music played in the background...the food is very delicious šŸ˜‹.......itā€™s just awesome
Thanks renaissance ā¤ļø

Hey everyone so day before yesterday I went to renaissance and over there, there is a place known as sepia which is known for his authentic Indian cuisine restaurant in Lucknow. It was a lovely day and meal was so good I really appreciate the food and service was a bit late and over here it was my third time and this time I click the pictures for reviewing in zomato. I would say that they should improve a bit service issues as soon as possible because all time I face this late service issue. And over all this place is must visit place.
Vivek
Nice and quiet place. Live music is awesome. Went last week. Food is good. Dahi ke kabab and Khatte Meethe Baigan are awesome and a must try.

A splendid evening with loved ones :) The food was just delicious...do try galawati kebabs...I ordered murg biryani and it was just superb...there was even live music which was the centre of attraction of our evening...it was a memorable experience!!
Bhavna Dhawan
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and loved their hospitality. But I wish I could say the same for their restaurant.. The food that we orders was a set menu and had fish tikka among the starters.. I requested the waiter to instead give me gallauti kebabs to which he agreed very reluctantly The service is damn slow .. The starters the kebabs were okaish.. The ą¤øą„€ą¤– kebab a bit on the hard side chewy. The galauti had very little seasoning. The chicken tikka was the best. The ą¤¶ą„‹ą¤°ą¤¬ą¤¾ for soup was very flavourful and comforting. The main course was the best the Chicken dish and the mutton nihari were outstanding taste wise.. Not spicy at all and great flavours.. The biryani also was very good with soft mutton pieces. The desert baked ą¤¬ą„‚ą¤‚ą¤¦ą„€ and gulabjamun were tasty but heavy..itsba great idea to have the set menu if you Wanna try many things.. Cheers

I did not expect this kind of experience in Renaissance... The service was awful and the food tasted very mediocre. Very unhappy
There are smaller restaurants which serve better food and do so in a proper way.

First time visited to Renaissance. Sepia is one of the three restaurant/cafe/bar located in this hotel, probably little expensive than all. Itvis an Indian restaurant, spacious, nicely decorated and very good ambience. At this time Bombay Dabba wala food festival was being celebrated. Live light music was going on one side. 4 course buffet was served, but directly on to the table. Murgh shorba and then non - veg starter had 3 items - fish, chicken tikka and shami kabab. Main course had butter chicken, mutton rogan ghosh (?), dal makhani, mutton biriyani. For dessert - shahi tukda and gulab jamun. Also tried rasmalai and white rice. Rasmalai was hard, its liquid was just watery, not at all good. Soup was very dull, other items were good, especially kabab was yummy. We enjoyed our dinner here, only felt that after starters waiting for main course was very long.
Anshuman Singh
It was a good fine dine experience with Sepia. Firstly I would like to thanks Mr. Gyanendra for being an attentive staff and serving us actively. We ordered galawati kebab , tawa butter chicken and awadhi roshan gosht along with Indian breads.

Pros: The food was really delicious and worth trying.

Cons:
1. The portion size when compared to the price was quite small. (1ltr water bottle @ 90 INR)

2. The service could be more prompt.
Classy ambience
Nice place with the finest taste of royal chef's
Must visit place for food lovers in Lucknow.
Food is finger licking
Will plan to go again to try other dishes as well

Well no words could describe my experience over here.Had lots of expectaions before visiting here, all of them which have been catered to. Serving most delicious awadhi cusine in lko.

Last night I had the highlight of my sojourn in Lucknow at Sepia! I flew from Delhi for a weekend just to try famed Awadhi cuisine and had been to street-corner food stalls in Chowk and Aminabad before. Nevertheless, Sepia simply tops the list of all outlets as it conserves the cuisineā€™s recipes in a refined manner, much like how the Awadhi rulers would pursue the most palatable gastronomical experience in their region. The service at Sepia was such pleasure on my soul. Even though Sepiaā€™s entire dining floor was hosting a large function, upon learning my pursuit of Awadhi cuisine, Mr. Pankaj and Mr. Ramkaran graciously allowed me to have the dining experience inside another restaurant in the hotel just for myself, mobilizing the kitchen and catering the food upstairs. This was my best Indian hospitality experience ever and I had never felt so much entertained before in India.

Thank you to the team at Sepia. I look forward to my next visit.
Abhishek
Outstandingly Good! The best restaurant in Lucknow. Every single dish was lip smacking good. Literally! Order anything at this restaurant and you'll end up eating your fill. If I have to point out something that irked me, the ambience can be a tad better, a lot better actually. But, you'll barely pay the ambience a smidgen of your attention when the food arrives! A must visit when in Lucknow. Deserves 5 stars.
Abinash Pramanik
Ambience 4/5
Food 3/5
Staff 3.5/5

Overall the experience was good. Ambience was of course amazing as per the hotel standards however food fell short of taste. Tried some new dishes here but was not explained the menu properly. Palak Lahsuni is aromatic and should be tasted once atleast. Staff was courteous and friendly.

Great place for your taste buds... Serving authentic Indian cuisine ... This restaurant has polite, well trained staff and grooving music that soothes you. More varieties could have been included in menu but whatever are the offerings it's best in box... Good for people looking to spend a little more than usual..
Have Happy time.. :)
Vimanyu Verma
Nice assortment of dishes. Though only Indian dishes are available the taste of each dish is unique. Set veg menu is worth a try. Suggestion.. Go with an empty stomach
There are absolutely no words that could describe the deliciousness and Tehzeeb they serve at Sepia. As a residence of the city, I have very very high standards of taste when it comes to Avadhi Cuisine, but my God, did this take up my standards up several million notches. We were five people together who decided to eat at Sepia for a random family evening of eating out. We had ordered Dahi Ke Kabab and two platters of non veg kebabs. For the platters you can choose any four types out of 9 selection that they offer. Lazy as we were we left the choice under the discretion of our host Prakash, who by the was the most courteous and helpful host I have had in the most recent times. About the Kebabs, they were moist, juicy, flavourful, and I mean a blast of well balanced flavours in your mouth, with just the right quantity for one person, for first course. I was very happy with the portion sizes. They're just perfect if you intend to have a three course meal and don't want to waste any food. Believe me, regardless of the big fat foodie you might be, we all know the torture of getting excessive appetizers. You end up overfeeding on appetizers and there's hardly any space left for entreƩ. Not the case here. 5+++ for the perfect portion sizes, I love you for this Marriott!!Now the main course, we ordered a teen mirch paneer, and tawa chicken, both super delicious. I loved warqi kabab - innovative both in terms of technique and taste, although I'd rather put in in dessert section, somehow I just couldn't place it in the breads section. And we had a complimentary kheer - man that was cherry to the whole damn dining experience. Thank you Marriott for keeping up with the old school lakhnawi vibe of Tehzeeb and taste! You have more one more lakhnawi fallen for you head over heels.

Very good food. Highly recommended. The staff is also very courteous that would take care of your food preferences. The overall ambience also works in creating a nice outing.
Amanzia02
Very nice hospitality. Food is also very delicious, especially chicken and garlic naan. Mr. Prakash is also very gentle and helpful. Interior is also well lit & decorated. Melodious singers also present who sing the songs of our choice. Suitable for dinner with family. Overall a great experience

This was my second visit to Sepia and even more disappointing than the first. On reaching we found out that it was a fixed menu and we would be served all included in the menu for 999/-. Post the soup & starters the menu service and the experience went steadily downhill. The main course was bland, served late and in minuscule portions. (A small portion of paneer dish, masoor dal ( for 999/-) and bhindi which arrived looking like leftover, after two reminders. )Requesting for more dal or bread was met with so much delay. The dessert which arrived after even further delay was indifferent and sugarless. The service was extremely slow and the three waiters were so indifferent that ultimately dishes were banged while being removed.
The icing on the cake was the bill which was presented but no one was forthcoming to collect it so I walked over to the main desk and paid it there. Very fast food joint feeling.
Menu lacked variety, preparation was bland and soulless and the service was indifferent and slow. An absolutely avoidable experience. Better to visit a Dayal Paradise or Ranjees. At least they serve hot fresh food.

Awesome food and service , we took the veg and non veg set menus , the ambience is nice , the one thing which stands out is the Warqi parantha . Its just too good . Tks and appreciate the assistance provided . Regards

I visited this restaurant and the first impression was ok.
Ambience- 4
Live music- 4.5
Food- 4.5
Service- 3
I ordered veg and non veg both, and they were impressive. Mocktails were good too. My roti and naan were okish. Although, they do not have much options to choose from. I requested twice for my song but couldn't hear till the end of my dinner. Service is slow, that's where the dip is.
I can visit this restaurant again just for its food and nothing else.
Maheshseth293
The most useless and hopeless food i ever had in my life..
Worst service, worst quality food. Cold meat in warm gravy. Microwave heated starters.. NO NO NO.... NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL......
Deepak Seth
Really shocked to see the ratings and eat here.
Bad food. Cold served . The golouti kabab served very cold. Checked by the serving staff and accepted. The chicken khada masala served with frozen chicken check by the CHEF HIMSELF.

Ordered Hot and crispy naan. Served with Roti.
And when had a word with the CHEF on my table he says there is some miscommunication on our end. That answer does not go with the PROFESSIONAL show off of this restaurant.

Very Bad Sepia. Had come here from taking ZOMATO rating of 4. I definitely doubt it.

Please donā€™t visit by any means. Completely spoiled my whole night.

I have just reached my home after taking dinner in jugalbandi festival celebrated by Renaissance sepia restaurant. The ambience was OK OK. 2 singers were singing live. Now the food. We were first timer here and told about buffet so opted for same. But that was a mistake. The items soup, starter, main course was served from inside but service was very slow as Ala carte was also served by same staff leading to delayed service. The items in buffet were less and incomplete. For example. No papad, salad, Achar, raita with main course which were served promptly when asked for but till then it was late. Now taste and quality was good, full marks to chef but negative marks to management for poor organization of buffet. The dessert was excellent. Hopefully management would look into. Thank you for serving

Without doubt one of the favorite hotels I stayed during my time in sepia renaissance! Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the staff and manager. The staff was extremely friendly, the restaurant very flexible (appreciate this!) and the restaurant supervisor deserves a special thanks..
Gtasiddiqui112
It was a good experience having awadhi cuisines in sepia . Warqi paratha was so yummy . Lamb nihari was tasty . Baked boondi rasgulla was excellent. The staff especially chandra prakash sri vastava was very courteous. I complimented chef for lovely preparation.

Couldnā€™t have been more excited about a work trip than this one to the City of Nawabs, Lucknow! Known for its delectable #Awadhi cuisine, and most prominently for the ah-maxing Galauwati Kebabs! These heavenly pictures are from our dinner at Sepia, the specialty restaurant at the #Renaissance by #Marriott. While we had the most elaborate fare as part of the set menu, putting up the three dishes that particularly blew my mind! (1/3) Of course, the Galauwati Kebabs - melt in the mouth, full of aromatic flavours served with the legendary sheermal (2/3) the signature Warqi Parantha that trumped even the Kebabs for me! The paranthas, served broken into little, soft pieces loaded with butter, mildly sweet flavour were incredible with the Dal Makhani, or even when had plain (3/3) the meal was truly complete only with the sinful boondi gulab jamun for dessert, along with the Zafrani phirni which honestly - had too much of a rose falvour for my liking. In short - an unforgettable meal in a beautiful city #foodporn #food #foodie #foodstagram #instafood #nomnom #lucknow #kebab #indianfood

Excellent service and great food... Music a bit loud but otherwise one of the nicest restaurants in Lucknow... Chef Afroj Alam should be commended for the delectable food and paying attention to each guest...

Excellent ambience, music and food. Must visit.. If you are looking for peaceful ambience plus good food. Though you should be ready to pay a slight premium for it.

Thank you Chef Mr.Afroz Alam and Chef Mr.Gyanendra for the delicious food. Your signature dish "Lehsuni Palak" was Awesome, you made our First Wedding Anniversary very special with lovely cuisine and amazing hospitality.

Good food , great music , excellent hospitality makes a perfect evening and Sepia stands upto that expectation .Their chef Mohd. Afroz Alam was very courteous and his baked boondi and paan rasmalai was too die for Kudos to u chef . Gajendra and Nishant were extremely attentive and warm and took great care........

Genuine Awadhi food. Good biryani with real Awadhi Aroma. Nice ambience, excellent service. Priced high as expected. One of the few high end places for those hunting for Awadhi food. Sadly, kakori kebab was missing.
Sonakshi Awasthi
For a long time a good dumpukht biryani had been missing from Lucknow. After chhote nawab, I hardly could smell the aroma and have those succulent pieces of mutton. This place serves by far the best biryani if you have the taste for awadhi and dumpukht biryani. The biryani is not strictly dumpukht as it is served in a bowl to maintain the standards but it had all the feel of a dumpukht, without a doubt.
The prices are exorbitant but it's worth it. The service, the ambience and the food define the city. I'd give it a huge thumbs up.

As the brand goes. Marriott speaks luxury and grandeur so is the place.
Located on the 3rd floor, sepia is one of the dinning areas in the renaissance in Lucknow. Very easy to locate with a magnificent view this place is worth the hype.
Now the staff is courteous and polite. The waiting staff is patient and helpful.
The ambience is warm and tasteful. There is live music playing both the singers are pretty amazing. Itā€™s just too loud. Gets over your conversation which spoils the mood a bit.
The cuisine is obviously Mughalai. Weā€™ve tried their dahi kebabs which r just amazing.Crisp n Crunchy from outside n decadent inside.
Their galawati kebab comes on a tiny paratha. Ever their panner kebabs are great.
The main course. Both veg and non veg options are great.
Weā€™ve tried their chicken and mutton preparation which are delicious. Special mention to warqi paratha. Which is a little sweet but amazing. A little pricy but portions are good and very filling. Overall a great experience for dinning.

One of those times when you want peace, tranquility and mouth watering food, visit Sepia!
I cannot stress enough how mouth watering their Biryani is.
Since it's a five start hotel, the service has to be laudable.
Must visit the place!
Shiva Rastogi
The restraunt served wonderful cuisine. Chef Afrof had came up with best dishes and his suggestions. Ritesh was also very considerate. Thank you to whole team of Sepia for making my dinner so memorable.
The restaurant is located on the third floor of Hotel Renaissance Marriott. It specialises in Avadhi cuisine.

The ambience is nice and there is adequate seating for a large gathering.

They have live music being played in the restaurant, though the singer's ain't too great.

The snacks are nice. I ate dahi kebab and it was tasty and soft.

For the main course I ate dal makhani & paneer. The helping of dishes are good.

The staff is courteous and the chef checked with us regarding the food.

They have a small open balcony for smokers.

It is slightly costly. Approx 1000/person without drinks.

Overall ratings

Ambience 4.5/5
Food 4/5
Staff 4/5

Ashish
Really bad service. Food is also not worth the money. Ambience is good but obviously will not spend a bucket load of money for this. Will definitely not suggest the place!
Theloveforfood
Amazing hospitality and great service ...not the kind of ambience and food you expect in Lucknow. We went for a birthday celebrations and the food was too good . They can definitely improve in their live music singers though

Fine dining at its best. Each course was delicious. The kababs were tender and mouthwatering, the soup was flavourful, tasty biriyani and out of this world dessert ( baked bundi Gulab ajamun). The service was impeccable and the live music was a very nice touch. Manager Piyush made sure we were well taken care off. This restaurant is a definite must!
Fancy hotel with bad food. We went when they had a Kabab Festival going on. So only buffet was available.

The starters were just okay. Like just another place around the corner in Lucknow. The main course again had very less variety but yes better than starters. Their special sweet naan was quite good. Forgot the name.
Desserts was decent.
Ozair
Their buffet is extensive. The food is authentic Awadhi. A relaxed dinner in a warm ambience and subtle music shall do wonders. Truly Lucknow.

Just hated it more then any thing else....
Food bkwasss...
Service to bkwass se bhi zada bkwas... kept waiting for the breads to be served even when their was not much crowed....

I have to start with the bar menu which was well stocked . South Beach Mohito with fresh flavour and great acidity. Not the best tho...had to order Balentines. In the background, was open live music to set the tone. For dinner must try - non veg kebab platter , tawa chicken .
Service- 4
Food - 3.5
Ambience -3.5

Well if you want to experience the cliched Awadhi opulence in your menu and ambience this is the place to be. As suggested ordered Raan and it was delightful. They have a wide variety of kebabs to offer and it's just amazing.
Ps Mughlai dishes taste a tad better when accompanied with drinksšŸ¤”

This week I got a chance to attendĀ RajasthaniĀ food festival Ā RANGEELO RAJASTHAN KA ZAIKA at SEPIA, RenaissanceĀ LucknowĀ under the guidance of Chef Anwar from THE WESTIN PUSHKAR. Who flew down to LucknowĀ from Rajasthan speciallyĀ for the festival. He designed the meals and combos according to the taste bud of Lucknow. The festival was an awesome experience as I got to explore some of the most staple and exotic dishes from the state.
Here are my favorite delicacies from the food festival that you just have to try.

Starters-

1. Methi ChamanĀ : Are the dumplings of cotton cheese and fenugreek leaves . They are the perfect snacks to start your meal.

2 .TharĀ ke Pappad: These are moong dal papad stuffed with gatta and spices. They were soft and crisp both. Its is must try .

3. Murg Tikka Banjara: These are small and light fractions of chicken marinated with onion and brown roasted cashew nuts with a smokey flavor.

4. Tomato Tikka Shorba: TomatoĀ stock cooked with small chunks of chicken tikka. Its a perfect thick and spiced Indian soup and a perfect starter.

Main course-

1. Laal Mans: A fiery Rajasthani meat curry cooked with mataniyaĀ chiliĀ , curd, and hot spices. It is the most famous non-vegetarian dish of the region and also among the royalties.

2. Murgh Shekhawati: Shekhawti region is in South Rajasthan and is famous for it cuisine MurgĀ Shekhawati Ā is .one of them , it is basically tender chicken cooked with curd and cashew nuts.

3. Paneer Mirch Masala: One of my favorite from the festival . Paneer cubes are cooked with tangy tomato and spiced up perfectly.Ā
4. Daal Bati Choorma: One of the staple food of Ā Rajasthan which is famous all over India. These are wheat flour dupmling which are roasted and dipped in ghee. It was served with Dal kalbelia, a black urad daal tempered with garlic and tomato.

5. Warqi Paratha : Warqi paratha or Ā layered paratha is an ideal paratha to be served with curry . It was crispy and sweet and was well fried. They looked like a puffed pastry but were very light.

Ker Sangri: A traditional and unique dish of Rajasthan made with Ker berry and Sangri beans. It was a very delightful combo of berry and beans with perfect amount of spices.

Desserts-

Ā 1. Ghewar cheesecake : Rajasthani famous sweet cake was given a makeover by the chef. He gave it a western twist by adding cheesecake to it. It was a perfect combination of cheese and ghewar both . It had the perfect amount of sugar syrup which did not kill the taste of cheese and ghewar.

The Tangled Traveller
One of the best places to have a perfect Indian meal. Sepai at Renaissance serves delectable Mughlai food with amazing live music. Sepia only serves dinner so make sure you only visit them in the evening.
They keep hosting food festivals. I was recently invited to review their Rajasthani food festival which was an absolutely delicious experience. We had an amazing dinner. Some recommended items were their tomato tikka shorba, murg tikka banjara, murg shekhawati, paneer mirch masala, bati and churma , chicken pulao and Ghewar cheesecake.

Nice ambience. Went for my father's birthday.
The choice of food is less but its tasty.
Tangri kabab and teen mirch paneer are awesome.
It was a perfect evening......not to forget the live music
Arun Chadha
They served us stale cold food, during there Kakori fest.
I would never go here nor I would recommend this to anyone.
The ambience and live music was good but food was pathetic.
Kanishk Paul Chadha
I went for a Dinner here with my Family during there so called Kakori festival, Trust me they serve non heated pre cooked dishes and they don't even check before serving.
I never expected this kind of service from a Brand like this.
Lesson's Learned:- Don't go for brands especially in case of food.

The place one should prefer if you wish to splurge once in a while. Situated in Renaissance, the new flashy hotel in Lucknow near Taj Vivanta. This is a whole indian cuisine restaurant offering a limited amount dishes on their menu.

I had visited this place for a family dinner and boy it did not disappoint me at all thinking of the food generally such hotels offer.

The ambience was great with beautiful interiors and live music. A large space with beautiful view of lucknow from your table with soft music.

The service was excellent. Our server helped with everything possible, from our questions to prompt serving of food. He helped us in ordering and made suggestions which were perfect.

The food was great. We had ordered teen mirch ka paneer, lahsooni paneer, platter etc. Everything tasted great. The aroma and taste of food was amazing. It was a perfect blend of spices. The only issue that I had with the food was the quantity they had provided, apart from that it was great. We also had the dessert tasted good, a mix of vanilla and chocolate. Their drinks as well are good and one should definitely go for the mojito.

I had a great evening at this place with the only issue of the quantity. The bill was steep but factoring in the place and the food they served it was justified.

The menu with the prices on zomato is an older one. They have increased their prices and there are other dishes as well.

I visited this restuarant with my family. We had ordered both vegetarians and non vegetarian food. To start with the tomato soup and the chicken soup both were enjoyed by all. Although there was a slight mistake by the chef as my brother found a bone in his chicken soup. However, this was quickly taken care of and with due apologies the soup was changed. We ordered paneer tikka, matar heeng kebabs and some galawati kebabs and chicken as starters. The paneer tikka was ordinary, matar heeng kebabs were good but the non vegetarians amongst us were not very happy with the starters. Same happened with the main course. Overall the vegetarian food was above average and non vegetarian was average. I would give this place extra points for it's ambience with it's clean, spacious and peaceful environment. Definitely a try. But if only food is on your mind you can try out other places. Service was good. Prices were on the higher end. Overall a good experience.:-)

awesome place, awesome ambience and awesome food. seekh kabab, chicken tikka and fish tikka was too good. staff was very coperative.also the live music adds to the flavous. thumbs up

Staff is very attentive, they do give an excellent service and that's why I've given some stars in this review. however I asked my waiter to recommend for me since I'm new to this type of Indian cuisine and he recommended a soup and 2 types of dishes which were literally one of the worst dishes I've ever had in my entire life. I love Indian food but what I had was horrible and even the naan too.

I would give this place a straight thumps up in my list of great places to dine at Lucknow. The hotel is very conveniently located beside a shopping mall in the newer developed areas of Lucknow. We were staying at a different upscale hotel and had dined at their restaurant also- which charged the same price as did this restaurant charged. The best part abt this restaurant is thier ambience. There are two singers- a guy and a gal who has got amazing voices and sing through out the evening till 11/11:30PM and it makes the atmosphere much more romantic and elegant. If u plan to take ur date out for a #romantic dinner or nice relaxed dinner with your family- then look no further and head out straight here. The food , the ambience, the chef all are amazing. We requested our food to be cooked in olive oil and they did that perfectly. Great service
Rachana Asthana
Beautiful setting , exceptionally talented singers, approachable staff ,would definitely recommend and be back Staff had smiles on and were highly hospitable

Sepia Restaurant at Renaissance Hotel is another gem apart from the L-14.
Located at 3rd floor, it is a perfect place to have dinner with your family.
So on a recent visit to try the "Sigdi Festival" I happen to try the Awadhi food served here...and its a must visit if you want to have that experience of "dine under the stars"

A welcome addition to Lucknow's restaurents with bars scene. Nice ambience, great live singing and excellent food. Its an evening restaurent and opens only after 7 pm. We ordered a veg and a non veg buffet so that we could taste little of everything. Unlike buffet services in other restaurents, everything is served on the table here. So you will get freshly prepared/heated dishes for every course (unlike other buffets where everything is dumped in containers). Loved the tomato soup and starters which were served in the beginning. The main course was also delicious, especially the slow cooked dal and delicious variety of breads. Had no space left for desserts but the little I had was yum (Awesome phirni). All in all, a great experience. The staff were courteous and attentive and the live singing added hugely to the lovely experience.

Awesome food awsome service authentic awadhi food.....had a wonderful dinner with my friends....must try this place.....defiantly go back ....

One of the few places in Lucknow where you actually have good food. The service is a little below expectation, the live music is too loud but my highest preference is for food and as long as that is done nicely, i can ignore everything else.Ā The starters and the dishes are clearly worth remembering, the quantity is low but then quality compensates for it.Ā

You can make out when a dish is made out of a Puree' or ready massala mix which has become a huge let down off late. Thankfully, this restaurant is not in that mode as yet. You can feel the dish has been cooked through a multistage process, retaining its aroma, enriching its taste and tingling the taste buds at the right spots.

A wonderful place to dine in & organise special occassions. I had organised a surprise dinner on my father's b'day. Perfect organisation, amazing ambience, awesome service , delicious food. Mr. Vara Prasad(Restaurant manager) needs a special mention who helped me organising the dinner was very responsive & cooperative. Overall wonderful experience.

I had the best Awadh cuisine here. The staff is warm and the service is impeccable.
I had the Nalli Kareli Nahari and the Murg Awadhi korma, the Murg Biryani was perfect with Burani Raita, and the vegetarian Dishes like bell paper paneer , Lahori paneer and the warqui Paratha is fabulous I never had this type of Paratha, Galawati kebab left me licking my finger !!
All in All. definitely Recommended.

The multi storeyed hotel has different things at their different floors. I've loved everything about this building. From the pool to their food! Its better than all the best places you can imagine in Lucknow. Everything veg on the menu is better than the other. The service is first class. Must visit.

Amazing restaurant ,I have visited a lot of Indian restaurants in India and I consider Sepia a must for the Indian food lover.
Hospitality and service at is best.
I tried Vargi Paratha something of a speciality in Sepia also Kkj Murgh chicken and Murgh malai chicken as a starter. Al dishes portion wise very satisfying.
Lastly I will like to thank my personal waiter Mr Abhishek Singh for his recommendations and looking after myself.

I visited Renaissance Marriot to celebrate my wife's birthday. After having some drinks on their beautiful sky bar, we headed to have dinner in sepia.
We asked for a table for two and prompt came reply that the restaurant is fully booked and we should try food at their other restaurant L-14. This when we came to have dinner at 10:20pm and more than 70% restaurant was empty. On pointing this, we were again told that the booking is from 10:30 thats why we cant get table. But when we persisted we got table for two, in the worst possible place, with no privacy. However as soon as few khadi clad netas and bureaucrats came, all staff was serving them, while we waited for our order. Just because we are not politically affliated, that does not mean the staff can treat us like crap.
I was personally offended and just because I was with my wife, and I did not make a scene. We are not brought up by our parents like the people the hotel wants to please.
The food was very average. Stuffed mushroom with cheese and olives was missing olives. Also there was no hint of grilling on it. That smokey flavor was missing. I wish I could have taken picture of dal makhni we ordered. The server served it in small bowl but the main bowl was all smeared with dal, as if it was poured out in a hurry. The mutton biryani was also average. There was no hint of spices. It was very bland. The naan was ok.
Overall it was a very average place for dinner. On leaving the restaurant, there were almost 6-7 tables empty. It was supposed to be jam packed from 10:30pm. Maybe the crowd got turned away because they were common people, not netas and bureaucrats. My wife's birthday was somewhat ruined because of experience. My advice to people going to Renaissance Marriot will be to book table in advance through some politically connected person because if you go without it, you will be treated like crap.
Also, there are far better places to eat and have better dining experiance than Marriot for the amount of money charged. Go only if you want to see Gomti Nagar from a highrise.
For me, I will never visit Renaissance Marriot in future.
Please 2.5 rating is only because of their sky bar, courteous gate keepers and front desk staff.
Hey pretty ladies, how are you all?Its been a while since you guys requested me to do a vacation outfit, and I really couldn't get the perfect idea as to what new should I post since everyone nowadays is following the same theme! But I finally thought of a cool way to display some beautifully paired up pieces, including some designer jewelry from ERISTONA.

I have gone for a family dinner on the to celebrate the occasion of my parent's anniversary. Really liked the place. Hospitality and service is really good. Behaviour of the staff is very humble and the service is fast. The ambiance of the place is very delightful which was enhanced by the live music. Amazing ambience , i went as a part of picker at pace to the kakori food festival , You can feel the good vibes as you enter . Sepia is a beautiful restaurant , i was greeted and taken to a table along with my friend for a 3 course meal , the starters took a lil time to arrive , but the wait was compensated by the lovely live acoustic music being played . The food looked and tasted awesome , the service was good , the dim light and love music made it a perfect location for dinner dine in . Special cheers to chef qureshi for magai paan prawn , malihabadi chicken and warqi paratha .

Eeps! That overly dramatic french greeting was only intended to break the monotony from my previous post greeting style. I'm sincerely not learning it for my new designation at Renaissance Lucknow Hotel (prancing :p). Many of you who follow me on various social media platforms already know that I recently grabbed the opportunity to be the Exclusive Ambassador for the newly opened RENAISSANCE LUCKNOW HOTEL. Its surreal to me tbh! Tons of thanks to the DFB, Mr. Sandeep for reaching out to me and being sweet AF.

On a special visit to Sepia last Sunday I experienced an amalgamation of pride, mysticism and glory.Ā

The Kakori Food Festival organised by the food & beverages team was all about the cuisine of Kakori showcasing its local ingredients, taken to a new level of sophistication with a strong emphasis on Royal Mughlai cooking techniques, used to create truly exemplary dishes. I was already swayed by the presentation they laid in front of me! I, along with my friend Azman Khan, tried various Awadhi delicacies prepared exclusively by Chef Mohsin Qureshi - the Sous Chef at Renaissance Lucknow. It wouldn't be wrong if I say, I tasted some of the best Kakori cuisine of my life till now, at Sepia.

For both vegetarian & non-vegetarian Ā specialities, I can very well say that all the dishes both from the starters and main course menu were exquisite and delectable. Special mentions : Veg - Bhuney baigan aur Matar ki sabzi and in Nonveg - Maghai Paan Jheenga, that looked and tasted divine! We also LOVED the Warqui paratha because of its sophisticated crumbled presentation, its softness and its sweet tinch reminding us of the authentic Mughlai flavor in every bite. -------- Read about the full menu that we tasted, on my blog : www. pickeratpace .com

It is no secret that Sepia, by Renaissance is the place to savour local cuisine in a beautiful ambience. The restaurantā€™s interiors and ambience have been done with great detail to make every moment a royal memory that will last you a lifetime! Its one of those contemporary chic restaurants featuring the spice markets style in India bustling cities.
Highlight of the restaurant was undoubtedly the LIVE MUSIC which is enough to soothe anyone's long, tiring day!Ā

All over rating :

Food - 4.5/5 |Ā Service - 5/5 |Ā Ambience - 4/5

Guess should have relied upon reviews before going to this restaurant. Upon arrival was presented an ala-carte menu Ā that was just one page printed half. Upon enquiry was told that they are having some kebab festival so ala-carte menu (the complete menu itself is hardly 3 page long) is reduced to one page. Upon pointing that running buffet should not mean killing a-carte as you advertise this restaurant as speciality restaurant and in sites like zomato you publish menu - Lame excuse is sir, we put hoarding in city advertising kebab festival.Ā

Now coming back to menu, did you ever hear an Avadhi Ā restaurant offering ala-carte food without any butter / naan. On 9th June, in their menu if you want to order ala-carte, if youa re veg you have to order yellow daal, one paneer and plain rice. That's all. No roti, naan - nothing. Simple plain rice, eat it or leave. Upon further inquiry another lame excuse was their chef is celebrity chef who has prepared this menu with great care (who was absent by the way) So much for specialty. Its very simple either you are speciality restaurant offering Avadhi food or you are simply offering full buffet service. What's the point in running ala-carte with just one daal and rice and claiming to be Avadhi specialty restaurant - in process tarnishing name of Avadh.

May Ā be they are going through teething issues, but in existing condition this restaurant is a big black dot on fine dining.

Finally a 5 star with authenticity , quality and yes The Real Taste of the Awadhi Cuisine . Now therez no need of going to old lucknow for the authentic Kebabs and Nahari . you can get all of these under one roof . SEPIA the restaurant which offers the authentic Awadhi food made by real awadhi chefs of lucknow . My experience for Galauti kebab , ulta tawa paratha ,nahari and Lehsooni Jhinga was the best, i still have that taste on my tongue , WILL BE BACK SOON !!

Well first of all the menu is very small and even in that a lot of things are not available. This level of service is certainly not expected from Marriott group. There are around 15-20 tables in this restaurant but only 4-5 servers, we literally had to wait ages to be served. Even the manager was serving. The only thing good about the restaurant were tue singers. Amazing voice but poor restaurant.

"Unchi dukaan pheeka pakwan!" This idiom fits perfectly for Sepia - Renaissance(Marriott).

First of all ambience: You'll have great expectations as the ambience is really good. Quiet awadhi style with dim lights and nice seating arrangements, you'll be charmed.

Food : For starters we had chicken tikka(and that was the best we had as compared to other dishes), Sarson ke phool(Tandoori Broccoli) quite oily and hardly had any taste, and Tandoori Chicken which was overcooked from outside and undercooked from inside.

For main course which was quite better from the starters we ordered Butter chicken, its gravy was good but again chicken was not fully cooked, Murgh Handi Lazeez which was okay, Subz mela(couldn't eat it with naan), and in breads it was butter naan and warqui paratha which was the best.

Service - It was actually slow. They took a lot of time.

Don't come here with very high expectations just for the sake that it's a Marriott.
Mudassir Husain
I went there with alot of expectations but it turned out be a disaster
The starters were undercooked (Tandoori Chicken) ghost key pasinde had a very strange smell
The main course was a little better than the starters
Varkhi parataha was good
Butter chicken pieces were way too undercooked and Lazeez Chicken Handi had alot of KEWRA which added a very horrendous taste to the chicken

Visited with family. A very mixed experience. As they say 50-50. Somethings good, other things - will leave it to each of you to decide. The decor falls under the category ā€˜you decideā€™, but the tables were nice. Big with enough space to place the dishes comfortably so that you didnā€™t waste time trying to find space to put them down once you had been served. The chairs were very comfortable too. So it was nice to sit comfortably and not worry about elbowing your neighbour or eating from his plate by mistake. The flip side is that conversation is almost impossible. So choose accordingly. Then there was live music, again you decide if you enjoy that kind of thing. It was louder than what I prefer. Amongst the starters the Paneer with three chillies was good and so was Malai tikka. But Galouti kebab was ok. The fresh lime water sweet was good, very rarely do restaurants nail it in the first go, you always have to make some or the other adjustments. The entire main course was ok except Nalli Nehari which was excellent.
Gaurav Wattal
Awadhi food in a nice environment with great live music and good service . I was staying at the hotel and thought I would give my taste buds a local hit . It was a great experience as I asked the chef to give me his selection . Started with the galouti a must do in Lucknow followed by Dahi kebab and both kebab . Overall a great experience. For mains we moved really name faboulas nihari with roomali which had a great balance of flavours. The finale waste lamb biryani which was a good end to the meal . Chef Quereshi does justice to his meal and his food is a delight . A must visit in Lucknow .

I went with one of my friend Yesterday 2.5.16 to Renaissance , we had drinks and snack, enjoyed the match on 16 th floor which was awasum , and then for dinner we tried this restaurant at 3ed floor , the ambiance was good , we ordered Lahori Paneer and Dal Makhani and butter nan , Guys we were expecting some thing really delicious , but when the food came and we tasted it was really disappointing , Dal makhani was full of salt , we requested to check and they accept their mistake and changed it , for Lahori Paneer they should change the name of the dish to Lahori Corn , it was just corns with very few and small pieces of paneer in it , The butter nan was also hard .... overall the food was very very Bad ,....

I would say Great ambience accompanied by soulful live music which makes you feel good about the place.
Coming to food , it was good at a decent price compared to other 4/5 star hotel rates.
We had ordered a sabz ki galawat kebab which was soft but less in quantity , teen mirch ka panner as a main course was different than other paneer gravy dishes . Their breads which I only thought were not upto the mark .
Overall I liked the place and one could just enjoy having a nice dinner over some good music.

After a great evening of drinks and chat at the sky bar of the same property we chose to have dinner once we knew they had a fine dining restaurant which offered Indian flavors Awadhi style. To start with the ambience very mughalai and traditional richness with every look around. The staffs attire was unique which i suppose had some thing to do with the cuisine and the concept of their restaurant also to add the evening there was a young pair with some light music sessions which added to a brighter evening except for the guests going to the stage and taking over with their own sessions of karaoke otherwise the songs were well chose and pleasant to the ears.
The food left us wow with the richness and the flavors infused also to add they served alcohol.
By the time we were done we left like a nawab filled with awadhi spices in us ..
A must try place if you want to have a unique dining experience .

Another quality outlet from Renaissance serving quality Awadhi cuisine. Tried the dahi kebab and nihari and both were mouth watering. Nice ambience, excellent service backed by live band enhances the overall experience of the place. Surprisingly rates are quite reasonable for a 5 star outlet.

A nice place for Dinner with Family or special ones. We went for our Parents Anniversary (Our parents are not generally the ones who like eating out)The Staff was courteous enough and helped us place the order. We ordered all Veg (nawabi kofta and subz mela) both were good. Their breads are decent especially the warqui paratha (a mixture of ajwain and saffron). The servings are decent and value for moneyThey had amazing live music with amazing singers (didn't expect that in Lucknow). The Singers chose old melodies which perfectly got along with the mood of the dinner.Ā
The ambience goes up with the Avadhi theme.Ā Everything was pretty good including the cost (dinner for 4 in less than 2k was woopiee moment for us)Slight goofups with ordering - The person taking order didnt know what was unavailable and mentioned it after 10 minutes that sorry the item u ordered is unavailable). Plus its dinner time mate - "you do not stand on head to take down order within 2 minutes of us coming" we finished half the eating and then he changed our plates.Ā
Despite the slight here n there issues, yet it was a nice visit, will definetely try the place again
